Jimmy Hsu, CSP was recently ordained priest of the Paulist Fathers on May 24, He will begin his first assignment as a priest here at St. Paul the Apostle starting July. Fr. Jimmy grew up in Plano, TX, and met the Paulist while attending college at the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a degree in philosophy. After graduation in 2008, Fr. Jimmy joined the Paulist community, drawn by the sense of mission and joy shown by the Paulist priests that he had met. During seminary, Fr. Jimmy attended the Catholic University of America, where he earned a Masters of Divinity in Catholic theology. During his as a Paulist seminarian, Fr. Jimmy had experienced ministry in a variety of Paulist parishes and parishes around the DC area. Most recently, Fr. Jimmy served as a deacon at the Cathedral of St. Matthew in Washington, DC, where he coordinated a series of small group faith discussion groups, prepared couples for marriage in addition to serving in sacramental roles. For your might is the source of justice; your mastery over all things makes you lenient to all. For you show your might when the perfection of your power is disbelieved; and in those who know you, you rebuke temerity. But though you are master of might, you judge with clemency, and with much lenience you govern us; for power, whenever you will, attends you. And you taught your people, by these deeds, that those who are just must be kind; and you gave your children good ground for hope that you would permit repentance for their sins. Reading 2ROM 8:26-27 Brothers and sisters: The Spirit comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.
