1 YAGP 20th Anniversary Season Regional Semi-Final Tour Guide NEW VENUE! Dear Friends, Cattolica, Italy November 29 - December 2, 2018 We are thrilled to welcome you to the Youth America Grand Prix 20 th anniversary competition season. Below, you will find a preliminary timeline to help you plan your schedule, and venue information, in order to help you choose the right Semi-Final location for you. TIMELINE Please note that the posted timeline is NOT FINAL, and is only meant to give you an idea of how each particular semi-final will be structured. For example, the Semi-Final usually begins with the pre-competitive group performances, followed by junior groups, senior groups and ensembles. Workshops usually take place differently in each venue, depending on the size of the group and the location. Depending on additional availability of studio and theater space, we may accommodate additional participants from the waiting list, by making adjustments to the timeline and adding an additional day to the competition. In this case, the timeline will state that additional dates are "pending". If you do not see this, it means the venue has no more available time, and will only accommodate a set number of participants. If you see a "pending" date for your venue of choice, we strongly suggest that you contact the YAGP Regional office before making any final travel arrangements. The first draft of the official schedule will be available 6 weeks prior to the competition, no later than October 18, The official schedule will be posted two weeks before the competition, no later than November 15, We recommend booking your travel arrangement after the first draft is posted online. YAGP s mission is to give talented students an opportunity to receive grants and scholarships with the most prestigious ballet schools and companies around the world. Though the Cattolica Semi-Final is a qualifying round for New York Final, there is a chance to receive grants and scholarships on the spot as the semi-final competition and master classes are visited by the directors of numerous ballet schools and companies. VENUE Here you will find details about all Semi-Final event facilities, including theaters and studios. The number of seats in the theater can be used as a good indicator of the size of the event -- the smaller the size of the auditorium, the more limited the capacity of the event, and vice versa. Semi-finals that take place later in the season usually get more crowded. In all cases, we recommend registering early to ensure participation in your preferred venue. 2 YAGP 2019 Cattolica, Italy (November - December 2018) Important Information About the Venue: All competition events will take place in Cattolica a charming, peaceful, beach side Italian town. The competition will take place at the, a historical opera house. The Theater and the dance studios are located in the historic center of Cattolica, near the hotels and everything is within walking distance - it will not be necessary to take transportation from the theater to hotels or dance studios. There are several hotel options to choose from, located within walking distance from the studios and the theatre. The train station is conveniently located a few stops away from the studios, and the nearest airports are Anconc or Bologna. Cattolica is very close to the city of Rimini, reachable in just 30 minutes by car or bus and in just 15/20 minutes by train (Stop: Cattolica-San Giovanni-Gabicce). Just 17 minutes by bus from Cattolica you can also visit the beautiful Castle of Gradara.
