Let me know which team you want to serve on: -Apartment Bible Study team -Sunday evening outreach service team -Prayer-line team -Local mission and evangelism team (with Ken Rector and Interim Min. of Evangelism) -Capitol fund-raising campaign team. -Housing Ministry (to work on transitional housing) We are part of a conspiracy of love: for God so loved the world Pastoral benediction: This world is now too dangerous for anything but love of Christ! So may God take your minds and think through them; may God take your lips and speak through them; may God take your hands and work through them; may God take your hearts and set them on fire! GOD WITH US

GOD FOR US GOD IN US From Tim Greetings from the Worship and Music Ministry! WOW! The Celebration Choir did an outstanding job on their presentation of Christmas Changes Everything. Thank you all very much. Your dedication to long rehearsals and hard work definitely paid off. You led us in heart-felt worship of our Savior in both services. A special thank you goes out to our extra singers for joining us this Christmas season. It was great to have you and I hope you will consider joining us more often. Barbara Kay and David and Kristen Stewart were great hosts for our Choir Christmas party. Those that came had a great time of fellowship. Our last Celebration Choir rehearsal will be Wednesday evening, December 18. We will resume rehearsals on Jan. 8. Children s Choirs and Breakaway will resume that same day at their normal times. The Symphonic Band will perform in both morning services on December 22 and then they are finished for the year. Rehearsals for this group will resume on January 12. We can always use additional players. Please come and join us in January. Tuesday, December 24, is our annual Christmas Eve service to be held at 5:30 p.m. It is always a special time of worship. We call it Carols, Candles, and Communion. Please bring your family and friends and join us. The music will feature a violin instrumental, a piano instrumental, a mixed vocal trio with live music and of course congregational caroling. Taking the Lord s Supper is always special at Christmas and of course the Passing of the Light portion of the service is always inspirational. Aaron will lead in a special children s time during the service. I hope your Christmas season will be a special time with family and friends and a time for reflecting on God s gift to us all Jesus! Serving Him Together, Tim

From Ken Administration Hi all. We are winding down the year. A couple of reminders: 1) We would appreciate any 2013 contributions toward the General Budget to help fund the ministries and missions of our church. 2) If you mail your contribution, it must be postmarked or earlier 3) Please pray about joining us for the One day Prison Ministry in the Austin area on January 25. The last day to sign up is Jan 2. The link to sign up is on the HHBC website. I am so thankful for the privilege of serving our Lord with you. May God grant us opportunities to witness for Him during this Christmas season when so many reflect on Him. Blessings! Ken Rector From Sean Youth News We are EXCITED to announce that we will be attending Passion Conference 2014, February 14th-15th in Houston, TX! This is the first time the conference will be held outside its home city of Atlanta and we cannot wait to take a group of college and college-bound young adults to it. The trip is open to year olds (HS seniors college students) and cost $150. Louie Giglio, Francis Chan, Beth Moore, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, & Matt Redman are just some of the amazing speakers and worship leaders for the conference. At the heart of it all, Passion exists to see a generation stake their lives on what matters most. For us, that s the fame of the One who rescues and restores, and the privilege we have to fully leverage our lives by amplifying His name in everything we do. More than a conference. More than an event. More than a feeling. Passion is you and me saying yes to the One whose name is above every name. Come. Join us. Stake your place. Raise your voice. Deposits are DUE! We are ordering tickets next week (might sellout!) and need to make sure we have enough hotel rooms.

Disciple Now January th, 2014 Open to youth 7 th -12 th grade. Cost $50 Bring friends! Sign-ups are posted on windows outside youth room. Are you planning on joining us for Urban Serve and/or CO Trip this summer? If you are: DEPOSITS ARE DUE! From Aaron Children s Ministry There was a moment of a panic in the Kahler household this past week. You see, parents of preschoolers have this wonderful language they use when they need to communicate around their children, it s called spelling: Do you think we should get P-I-Z-Z-A tonight? I need you to take Ezra to get his S-H-O-T; etc. Well this week a package arrived from Nana and I asked Lindsay, When do you think we should open the big B-O-X? To which Ezra replied, Which big box? Our eyes flashed at one other in a state of panic, our code had been broken! Preschoolers brains are amazing. They re like a giant sponge absorbing all that is around them, taking every bit of information and processing it in its context to construct their view of the world. You ve seen this firsthand haven t you? So imagine what happens when we surround a preschooler with instruction from the Bible, a consistent model of Christian love, and the care of the church. That s why our preschool Bible life classes are so important! Would you consider serving our preschoolers in 2014? We would love some additional help with our 3 and 4 year olds during both the 9:15am and 10:45am hours from folks who have a heart for teaching little ones about the bigness of God s love for them in Christ Jesus. If you would be interested in serving in this way, give me a holler via aaron@hayshills.com or at the church office (512) Merry Christmas! Aaron Kahler

From Jon Discipleship and Adult Education Last Words As I was preparing to write this week s news article, I realized that it would be my last words for this year. This started me thinking about other last words that were spoken or written. In Acts 1:8 Jesus last words to His disciples were But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." In 2 Tim 4:22 the apostle Paul s last words to Timothy were The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen. In Rev 22:20-21 the apostle John s last words to the church were, He who testifies to these things says, "Surely I am coming quickly." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. In April, 2005, my last words to my son were I love you son and I m proud of you. At the time, I didn t know that those would be my last words to him. I often wonder how I would feel today had my last words been words of anger or judgment, or condemnation. I feel extremely blessed that they were words that I am able to live with until I see him again in Heaven As we enter into a new year I encourage each and every one of you to make every effort to assure that you last words to a loved one are uplifting and words of encouragement and love. You never know when your last words will be your last words. I wish all of you a blessed and safe Christmas and to quote the apostle Paul, The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen Your brother in Christ, Jon LOOK WHAT S COMING UP!
