Get Excited About VBS! June 2013 VBS Announcement Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 This is the Bible definition for faith. Faith then, is a certain conviction, an assurance, an evidence that we will get the thing we hope for and ask for. One who has faith has the substance of the thing hoped for and has the evidence of that which is not yet seen by humane eye. The blessed confidence and assurance of faith. Grace to you and peace from God our father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Outreach Ministry Frank Abrahamsen - Minister "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Matthew 5:16 Power in Prayer That s what we need at prayer and more prayer: As we move on for the glory of the Lord our prayers will provide us with the direction and strength we need to win souls for Jesus. What we do matters, it matters to the lost and it matters to the saved, for there are many saved not in church and we at need to be a lighthouse to the lost and the saved. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 6 Souls saved this month This is POWER! LTC and Troup County Jail Ministry: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Matthew 25:35,36 LaGrange Transition Center and Troup County Jail continue to be a viable opportunity to preach and see souls saved. We are afforded the privilege to preach God s Word and we do it with Truth and determination determination that the Gospel will be preached. Each month we are blessed with many decisions for the Lord. This is how we are to serve the Lord tell everyone we come in contact with Jesus Saves Jesus Saves! LTC and BT teamed together this month for a Happy Easter Celebration. It was a great time of fellowship and preaching. The men were fed fried chicken and hot dogs plus an assortment of vegetables. Soft drinks and ice cream were also served. There were several decisions made for the Lord during the preaching. Circle of Friends: Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. We have needs in all of the 7 ministries but particularly in the ministries of Shepherds and Healers. We need Warriors who want to share God s love with their neighbors through a friendly, lov-

Several new workers signed up to help and our thanks go out to them. Also we have a new leader for the Shepherd Ministry, Larry Kelly and a new assistant for the Tract ministry, Patsy Allen. Thanks again to all who help! Warriors of the Month: April s Warrior of the Month award is presented to all of the Awana team members and van drivers. Working with our youth is vital for the growth of God s kingdom and our church. Thank you for your time you give to help others in the name of Jesus. 5 Page 5 Ministry Groups continued... Clothes Closet Wilma Robinson - Leader The Clothes Closet continues to open each Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 am. Remember the Clothes and Coat Closets when cleaning out your closets for Spring and Summer! The Clothes Closet helped 122 people for the month of May. Thank you Baptist Tabernacle family for your donated clothes!!! Food Closet Merle McMillian and Robyn Arrington - Leaders The Food Closet served 542 people with boxes of food and provided 439 meals to shut ins for the month of May! Thank you church family for your help in making this happen. The Food Closet is open Thursday s from 9:00-11:00 am. Homefolks Ministry Rondel Story - Leader During the time of 4/25-5/24/13 Homefolks Ministry had 2 out of town transports, 5 local, and 14 work day s.

Thank you volunteers who have stepped up to help in VBS, however, we re still in need of teachers for three classes; the three year olds, kindergarten, and 5th grade. Sunday, June 9th Immediately following morning service, in the Family Life Center. Register your children, order your t-shirts, and stay for a hot dog lunch!

9 Page 9 You Can Go To Heaven How To Become A Christian FIRST, YOU NEED TO BE SAVED. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) I tell you. Nay; but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. (Luke 13:3) SECOND, YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us. (Titus 3:5) THIRD, JESUS HAS PROVIDED FOR YOUR SALVATION. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) FOURTH, YOU MUST ACCEPT JESUS FOR SALVATION. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. (Acts 16:31) FIFTH, NOW IS THE TIME TO ACCEPT JESUS AS SAVIOR. Behold, now is the day of salvation. (II Cor. 6:2) WHAT TO DO. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9) FINALLY, WILL YOU BOW YOUR HEAD AND PRAY THIS PRAYER? Dear Lord Jesus: I know that I am a sinner, and am headed for Hell. I am willing to turn from the sin in my life and make You the Lord and Master of my life. Forgive all my sins and come into my heart right now and save me. For I pray in Jesus Christ s name. Amen.
