3 MINUTES The meeting was convened at 10:04 AM. It was determined that a quorum was present. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES The committee review its August and September minutes. The minutes were approved unanimously. Friend Updates DISCUSSION NOTES There were no new friends. James Kintz Geneva; Maureen Manning Rosenfeld Elgin; and David and Carole Hale Springfield have all been renewed as Friends. Gladu will update the committee as new friends join ICADV. Community Partner Updates DISCUSSION NOTES Elizabeth Ann Seton due to their by laws, may not be able to apply to be an ICADV Community Partner. The committee determined that Smith should talk to the program about ICADV s philosophy of supporting client choices, this may conflict with their agency bylaws. We d also like an answer as to what clients have to do to earn points. Take Back Our Lives focuses on teen dating violence prevention and community activism. This is a new not for profit. Gladu will reach out to local organizations to get feedback on this agency. Heather Flett, the director of this agency, is a co chair on the Leadership Development Committee. She left her previous agency in September. Due to this, Take Back Our Lives will be accepted pending feedback from local agencies. Renewal Behavioral Services Center, located in Skokie, provides many services and domestic violence is one of those. Substance abuse, private therapy, medication management, anger management, sex addition, adolescence treatment, counseling, and is available for 24 hour calls. Committee members approved its renewal. CP Survey Updates None Gladu will reach out to Chicago agencies and will the committee with updates. Gladu will continue to collect Community Partner and survey updates. Program Council Updates DISCUSSION NOTES Updated New Director Visits Jennifer Gabrenya Homewood Smith visited 9/1/16. She is settling in. Smith recommends Gabrenya s liaison, Margarette, give her a few calls, and discuss the difference between being a manager of multiple site vs. Executive director of the program she oversees now. Granite City Dawn Gray is the Interim director. Tinley Park Will be deciding on a new Executive Director in November. Update on New Directors to visit Carol Ruderman, SHALVA, no date for a visit has been set. 3

4 PC Liaison Assignment Updates Susan Bursztynsky, Executive Director of Streator, was assigned to Marla Reynolds. Updates from Liaison Dickson Yesenia Maldonado, Between Friends, no update. Farmer Elena Calafell, Metropolitan Family Services, Chicago was contacted and has no questions. Carol Ruderman, SHALVA, no response to messages. Diane Veltman, Tinley Park, asked a lot of questions that Farmer was able to answer. Leanard Carol Merna, Peoria, No contact since the first time. Will be the new liaison for Christine Gregory of Decatur. Jones Sara Hoffman, Sterling, Everything s going fine and will be taken off as a mentee. Will be the new liaison for Jennifer Gabrenya. Trushel Christine Gregory, Decatur, No contact. Jennifer Gabrenya, Homewood, no contact. Dawn Gray Granite City Has talked a lot. Pollock Michael Zerneck, Princeton, no update. Gladu will report on Smith s visit, the committee members will report out any updates with mentees. Liaison Work DISCUSSION NOTES The Committee identified barriers that mentees have. They continue to introduce staff at the Program Council meetings. This helps connect staff names with their functions. The committee requested accessible site review materials. Conlon will make the available online. The committee requested a list of s and phone numbers of Program Council members to circulate among the membership. The committee would like a membership question box at the Program Council meetings. A note will be placed on the agenda. The next Program Council meeting the committee will explain what the box is for. The committee agenda will also have a note to help remember to have discussions. The committee would like to Identify other people from the council to be liaisons. There is no need to put out a general call right now but if you see someone who would be valuable bring it to the next meeting. Leanard will give language to ICADV staff for the question box. Gladu will add the question section to the committee agenda. OTHER BUSINESS Gladu created a document for the private area of ICADV website explaining how to login and how to navigate this part of the website. This can be used when speaking to liaisons.
