Generation 1 1. JOHN ROBB THE 1 ELDER 1 was born about 1698 in Ireland 2. He died about 1761 in Middleton, Cumberland, PA 3. He married MARY COCHRAN on 15 Apr 1726 in Pennsylvania 4. She was born about 1703 in possibly Ireland. She died in Sep 1758 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. Notes for John Robb the Elder: **************************************************************************************************************** ************ This report is the August 2016 update of the original publication. This data was researched from the top descending by utilization of available on-line archives, historical documentation and census data; this report does contain minimal speculation and will possibly contain some errors. I have endeavored to use only verifiable or corroborated data to minimize discrepancies, however some date info may be found in error. Some contained lineage is from on-line available family trees and may be less than 100% accurate. A small amount of speculation is driven by familial findings (extended family members living in households) within the census data. Birth dates prior to people living during the 1850 census may not be entirely correct; in general, birth dates of children listed in wills may be established as listed (when no other documentation exists), and such listing may not reflect actual birth chronology. Some surname spelling has been adjusted to reflect the commonly accepted rather than the enumerated or transcribed census documents. Due to the many variables, I have tried to clearly state differences in surname spelling, including the variables found, in the specific individual notes. Please use this data only as a road map and aid for your research, and verify all data content personally prior to using it in your own charts. Source information is contained in both the end notes and some personal notes of this report, and references are contained as to the current location of viable documentation. Immediate family descendency info is verifiable in the "Life and Times of Robert Robb, Esq" by John F Meginness, published Muncy, Luminary Press. I discovered my reference reproduction in the BYU digital library. This study was initially intended to deal specifically with the descendents of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming; that subject information is reasonably complete and verifiable by the tracing of the extended families in the federal census data. I determined to expand my research based on historical Robert Robb (and subsequently his siblings and their children), richly documented findings. Now to begin with the generalities: John Robb b Abt 1698 d Abt 1761 data is from RootsWeb Trees and personal stories; I have no definitive proof of lineage other than the "Life and Times" publication. I have not discovered or seen valid proof of emigration for this individual. I based John Robb's marriage date with Mary, possible daughter of Joseph Cochran (of Sadsbury or Fallowfield Twp), on the birth dates of the children which resulted from the union. Be advised that I have not found both the Cochran and Robb surnames in any (available to me) singular ship's list. One Mary Cochran is documented as the wife of John Robb, but the documentation is a third generation copy, and not so reliable as to be used for proof of circumstance. There is still some question as to the proper identification of the mother of all of the children, as Page 1 of 189

Generation 1 (con't) There is still some question as to the proper identification of the mother of all of the children, as there is high probability that John the elder was married more than once, and the witnesses / executors of his will included members of the McKnight family (the custom of the time usually had the in-laws looking after the children's best interests). However, the explanation may also be that John and Mary Mcknight were neighbors, and it may have been expedient to have them involved. I believe that this John McKnight is as follows: "John McKnight was born about 1730, in the Province of Ulster, Ireland. He came to America in early life, and settled in what was afterwards Middleton township, Cumberland county. He was a captain in the Forbes expedition ol 1758, and again in active service in He served in the commission as one of the Provincial justices as early as 1757, and in October, 1760, was presiding over the county courts. He was an elder in Middle Spring Presbyterian church. He died in April, 1768, leaving a wife Mary, and children, John, David, Mary and Jean. He was a man of unblemished reputation." A son and two of his grandsons were called to the ministry, serving in the Prebysterian Church, and note the daughter named "Mary". By virtue McKnight's French and Indian War service, and involvement in the church and community, I feel certain that there was a close connection (not necessarily family) between the Robb and McKnight families. John Robb the elder (I added this descriptor to distinguish this individual from other John Robbs in this and other families) died in what is now Cumberland County, PA; He appears in Sadsbury Twp, Chester Co, PA tax rolls in 1724 (John Rob) 1726, 1727, 1729, 1730 and 1753 (John Robb). References are made to this individual in specific terms in the "Life and Times" publication. These tax roll dates support a c 1720 immigration date (but could suggest earlier than that date, based on personal wealth indicated at the time). John Robb residence has been determined (will executed 1761, proven 1762) as Middletown Twp, Cumberland County, PA. The four sons (some sources including Mercer County, list only three) are listed as such in various Sullivan / Lycoming / Northumberland / Mercer County, Pennsylvania (and other states' county histories) on-line documents, with specifics as to their individual community involvement. The daughters are from John Robb's will transcript. The Cumberland County (established 1750) geographic birthplace of brothers is warranted based on present mercation lines, and suggested in the "Life and Times" publication. Based on my research to date, documentation indicates they were born / raised near the present Carlisle, Cumberland, PA. Mercation changes of county lines, plus the formation of new from existing counties creates many discrepancies in which county may be named for which particular event. The PA GenWeb site has a very good county formation map, per year, which I have used in my attempts to be more accurate in describing the place of an event, even though in many cases, the subjects did not change their geographical residence in their lifetime. This is one of the reasons for listing the John Robb the elder's children's POB as Chester or Lancaster, PA. Chronology of the Robb brothers (and sisters) has been revised from the chronology as listed in John Robb 20 Jun 1761 will, and comments contained in the "Life and Times" publication. This revision is based on 2009 conversation and correspondence with John B Robb on his findings and observations of naming conventions in regard to birth chronology. There are also questions regarding John Robb (the captain) DOB based on his service in the Revolutionary War. His wife, Jerusha Craft Robb, outlived him by almost 50 years but his life was probably cut short due to the extreme hardships that he was known to have endured while in service. He was among the soldiers who wintered at Valley Forge in Of the children, only David Robb was indicated not to have reached the age of majority by 1761 Page 2 of 189

Generation 1 (con't) Of the children, only David Robb was indicated not to have reached the age of majority by 1761 and his DOB was established to reflect that fact; however, that is not to say that Isabel or Margaret were of age at that juncture, which raises questions as to their respective DOB's. David Robb's 1819 will provides an accurate listing of the extended family. I have not found any reference to Margret / Margaret Robb other than John Robb's will; I have not found any sound documentation to support the relationship between Isabella Robb and James Irvin / Irwin (or Erwin) other than the reference in the "Life and Times" and David Robb's will, and a probable reference of membership in the Presbyterian Church in Big Springs, but discovered a James Irwin will from 1809 which I have included in that lineage. John Robb the elder's sons were considered well-to-do (financially and by virtue of personal property and land holdings) in Cumberland / Northumberland / Lycoming and Mercer Counties with regard to the standards of the day. In late April 2008, I came upon LDS information regarding the Ireland / Irland line which was verified by descendant Melissa (Harper) Lapham, and I incorporated same into this data. In August 2008, I obtained additional information on the Clara Augusta (Sadler) McCormick family from descendant Mary Tanner. In October 2008 I received information on Alice Josephine Robb' s line from descendant Lynn Kinne, and incorporated that data into the extended family. In December 2008 I received documentation from Marie (Winterberg - Mack) Robb regarding the Nathaniel Robb (b d 1864) Line. These and other family lineages have been expanded to include minor corrections, additional personal notes including source information, and additional descendant lineage. In early 2010, I have exchanged correspondence regarding the Sadler line. Of the Robert Robb familial extensions listed in "Life and Times", only the "Tucker" line remains incomplete. Due to the untimely death and resultant financial chaos of Susanna Robb Tucker's husband Joseph Tucker's estate, it is difficult to track the family. There were some findings in October and November of 2010 regarding daughter Grace Tucker's descendants. This was accomplished with the assistance of an unrelated researcher familiar with the records requirements of the Daughters of the American Revolution. As of August 2016 additional information has been discovered in the Society of Friends meeting minutes and in Pennsylvania wills and probate records which adds to the story. Of all references to the Samuel Robb who married Louisa St Clair, I can find no "smoking gun" to align that individual with this family. I have not included him in this tree as a son of James (the son of John the elder) as is described in Egle's Notes and Queries, and have removed all but the basic references to this Samuel as notes contained within this report. Standard disclaimers apply; more time is needed researching historical sources and on-site documentation (marriages, real property records and deeds, wills, etc) to finalize these findings. I am willing to maintain this data with corrections and / or additions to any descendant lineage contained within this report, but I will now limit this on-line report data to six (6) generations (to the early 1900's). If individuals are interested in specific descendant lines, please contact me. I will provide any additional information I have compiled on a per request basis. For all the individuals who have contributed logical, rational and viable data to this effort, I wish to extend my thanks. Thanks also to John B Robb for providing valuable insight and technical expertise. Above all, thanks to the Sullivan County PAGenWeb site (and Bob Sweeney) for inclusion of this report within the content of that site, and to John Barrett Robb for his input and suggestions. This continues to be a very interesting exercise for me, even though there remain many unanswered questions! I may be contacted regarding comments, questions, requests for or submittal of corroborated data Page 3 of 189

Generation 1 (con't) Notes for Mary Cochran: Unverified information to document surname, and date of marriage: Robert Cochran, alias Deaf Robert, born Feb. 26th, 1660 Jane, his wife, they were married Feb. 25th, 1697, she died March 1740 Stephen their son born Dec. 5th, 1702 David born Oct. 6th, Married March and died June 19th, 1771 Nathan Feb Their daughter Janet born April 16th, 1690 died in Aug Isabella born Nov. 4th, 1699 died Mar. 12th, 1760 at 10 in the morning Deaf Robert died the last Monday in August 1740 Mary Robe born Nov married April 15th, 1726 and died Sep 1758 Found in various family trees as "Cochran" or "Corchran"; discussion / research ongoing as to true identity. DOB based on "Cochran" presence on Chester County in early 1720's DOD previously based on lack of mention in John Robb's will. Surname may have been "Cochran" which appears as a given middle name within this report. Additionally, Robert, James and one "freeman" named Cornelus Cochran are listed on the 1725 Sadsbury and Fallowfield, Chester, PA tax list, and Joseph Cochran's will was proven 07 Dec 1727 in Chester County (PA Archives data); all or none may be familially related. The contents of Joseph's will are not found on-line as of Aug Wife ( Mary?) was probably deceased at time of John Robb preparing his last will and testament (20 Jun 1761). Children POB revised per county formation data (from Cumberland to Chester or Lancaster County depending on date); Lancaster County came into existence in 1729, Cumberland in These could change per individual if data is found supporting a known birth chronology. John Robb the Elder and Mary Cochran had the following children: 2. i. JAMES 2 ROBB (son of John Robb the Elder and Mary Cochran) 5 was born about 1726 in Chester Co, PA? 6. She died before Oct 1818 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. Notes for Margret Robb: POB chosen based on supposed chronology of sibs and county formation and mercation sequence Page 5 of 189 Found only in John Robb will; probably died prior to David Robb, as she was the only sib or direct immediate relation not mentioned in David Robb will. This

Generation 1 (con't) only sib or direct immediate relation not mentioned in David Robb will. This circumstance was used to establish DOD. May not have been at age of majority at writing of John Robb's will, which would make her younger than indicated. Margret is name found on John Robb will (and in many other documents of the time), could have been a common name at that time, a contraction of the name Margaret, or a typographical error. 5. v. ISABELLA ROBB (daughter of John Robb the Elder and Mary Cochran) was born about 1737 in Lancaster Co, PA?. She died after 1819 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. She married JAMES IRWIN after 1758 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. He was born about 1730 in Pennsylvania? 22. He died in 1809 in probably Mercer Co, PA. vi. DAVID ROBB (son of John Robb the Elder and Mary Cochran) was born about 1742 in Lancaster Co, PA?. He died in 1819 in Tyrone, Cumberland, PA 23. He married (1) MARY ROSS, daughter of Jonathon Ross and Elizabeth Buchanan. She was born about 1760 in Tyrone, Cumberland, PA. He married (2) MARGARET ROSS, daughter of Jonathon Ross and Elizabeth Buchanan. She was born about 1770 in Tyrone, Cumberland, PA. She died in Cumberland, PA?. Notes for David Robb: DOB based on being "not of age" in 1761 will of John Robb the elder. Found on assessor tax listing, Muncy Twp, 1774 and elected member of Pennsylvania Assembly Have found no evidence of service in the Militia. Have found no evidence of issue for either of his marriages will lists all living (?) siblings and make provisions for same. Margaret is listed in will as wife, probable sister to "Mary Ross" mentioned in "Life and Times" Generation 2 2. JAMES 2 ROBB (John Robb the 1 Elder) 5 was born about 1726 in Chester Co, PA? 6. He died on 29 Aug 1809 in Probably Mercer Co, PA 7. He married MARTHA POLLACK about 1755 in Cumberland Co, PA?. She was born about 1735 in Chester Co, PA?. She died after 1809 in Probably Mercer Co, PA. Page 6 of 189 Notes for James Robb: James and brother Robert would seem to be included as signers of the following petition: "The history and topography of Dauphin, Cumberland, Franklin, Bedford, Adams and Perry Counties... By Israel Daniel Rupp" Pun 1848 by Gilbert Hills, Lancaster, PA page 120 To the Honorable Robert Hunter Morris, Esq., Lieut. Gov. of Province of Pennsylvania. The address of part of the remaining inhabitants of Cumberland county, most humbly showeth, that the French and their savage allies have from time to time made several incursions into this county, have in the most inhuman and barbarous manner murdered great numbers of our people and carried others into captivity, and being greatly emboldened by a series of success, not only attempted, but also took Fort Granville on the 30th July last, then commanded by the late Lieutenant Edward Armstrong, and carried off the greatest part of the garrison, prisoners, from whom doubtless the enemy will be informed of the weakness of this frontier, and how incapable we are of defending ourselves against their incursions, which will be a great inducement for them to

are of defending ourselves against their incursions, which will be a great inducement for them to redouble their attacks, and in all probability force the remaining inhabitants of this county to evacuate it. Great numbers of the inhabitants are already fled, and others preparing to go off; finding that it is not in the power of the troops in pay of the government (were we certain of their being continued) to prevent the ravages of our restless, barbarous and merciless enemy. It is therefore greatly to be doubted that (without a further protection) the inhabitants of this county will shortly endeavor to save themselves and their effects, by flight, which must consequently be productive of considerable inconveniencies to his Majesty's interest in general, and to the welfare of the people of this Province in particular. Your petitioners being fully convinced of your Honor's concern for a strict attachment to his Majesty's interest, have presumed to request that your Honor would be pleased to take our case into consideration, and, if agreeable to your Honor's judgment, to make application u to his Excellency, General Loudon, that part of the troops now raising for his Excellency's regiment may be sent to, and for some time, continued in some of the most important and advantageous posts in this county, by whose assistance we may be enabled to continue a frontier if possible, and thereby induce the remaining inhabitants, to secure, at least, a part of the immense quantity of grain which now lies exposed to the enemy and subject to be destroyed or taken away by them; and also enable the Provincial troops to make incursions into the enemy's country, which would contribute greatly to the safety and satisfaction of your Honor's petitioners-and your petitioners, as in dutv bound shall ever pray, &c. Robb, Samuel Anderson, Robert Robb, Samuel Hunter, A. Forster, Nath. Smyth.» Read in council August 21, Generation 2 (con't) Note that other surnames appear in the signatory listing which play roles in the extended family: Erwin and/or Irwin, Reed, Buchanan, Williams, and Foster among them James was the first constable of Muncy Twp, appointed 09 Apr 1772 by first court in Northumberland, held at Ft Augusta. Assisted in "laying out second road" in Muncy Twp, 1773 Found on assessor tax listing, Muncy Twp, 1774 and 1778 "Moved to Westmoreland" per "Life and Times of Robert Robb". "Petition for New State" (end notes) is not proven to be this James, could be Uncle James who immigrated with John Robb the elder, or the James of Joseph Robb the 1700 immigrant's family. Speculation exists that this James Robb could be progenitor of the Samuel Robb who married Louisa St Clair in 1795 (DOD's - he 1854 she 1840 bur. Ligonier, PA This union produced three sons and three daughters). Based on my research to date (Jan 2012) I prefer to think this Samuel is not a descendant of John the elder Robb's line. His purported "medical training in England" found in some references does not sound as though it belongs to any of this Robb lineage I have been able to trace! Have found suggestive evidence that brothers John and Robert visited James in Mercer County, and lodged at an inn owned by one Isaac Robb who may or may not have been (but has not been Page 7 of 189

Generation 2 (con't) and lodged at an inn owned by one Isaac Robb who may or may not have been (but has not been identified as) related. There are also descendants of Joseph ( the 1700 immigrant) Robb who were in the Washington / Fayette county areas in this same time frame. I have a fair amount of data collected on that family as well. Isaac Robb (the first, there were at least two in this geographic area) was founder of "Robstown" (or Robbstown; the village name may be found both ways) which was destroyed by an Indian attack (Chief Pontiac's war, Brushy Run massacre) in 1763, then repopulated but again destroyed in 1794 during the Whiskey Rebellion. It was finally rebuilt and became West Newton. Chronology of children from online data, not confirmed as of Aug James Robb and Martha Pollack had the following children: 6. i. ELIZABETH 3 ROBB (daughter of James Robb and Martha Pollack) 5 was born on 17 Dec 1763 in Pennsylvania. She died on 26 Jul She married DANIEL MCMILLIAN in 1794 in Westmoreland, PA 5. She was born on 19 Nov 1739 in Caln, Chester, PA 14. She died on 01 Feb 1816 in Lycoming, PA 5. Notes for Robert Robb: Some data from "Egle's Notes" Sullivan County GenWeb Page Ensign / Lt grade when serving in French and Indian Wars Described as "Captain Robert Robb" page 181 of "Otzinachson - A History of the West Branch Valley" by Meginness, pub Assisted in "laying out second road" in Muncy Twp, 1773 Found in Col Hepburn's Militia Company - "Privates Include... Robert Robb" Aug 1778 (during "the Great Runaway"); it has not been established that this documentation is naming the subject Robert Robb. This reference not allowed as valid on DAR application of grandaughter Grace Tucker Crouse. Page 8 of 189

Generation 2 (con't) "Robb Case" referenced in Northumberland and Lycoming County histories (condensed versions) Meginness offered clarification and absolvement of any wrongdoing in "Otzinachson" published in One "Peter Smith" who was "flogged" by Robb, previously gave a deposition to Robert Robb concerning the settlements at Wyoming (PA), which he possibly distorted to his own end. That may have been the reason for Robb's dislike of said Smith. "Robb Case" also documented in "Annals of Buffalo Valley, Pennsylvania " collated by John Blair Linn, published by Lane S. Hart Printer and Binder, Harrisburg, PA 1877 "Life and Times of Robert Robb" indicates full transcript of "Robb Case" is contained in Volume XIV Second Series, Pennsylvania Archives, Pages From "Historical collections of the State of Pennsylvania" Sherman Day, Pub. by G. W. Gorton, pages On the 10th Sept. 1776, the committee learning that " Levy & Ballion have a quantity of salt on hand, which they refuse to sell for cash, (as ordered by a former resolve of committee,) the committee ordered Mr. Wm. Sayers to sell it at the rate of 15 shillings per bushel, and not above half a bushel to each family, and return the money to the committee." The committee attended to receiving from the Philadelphia committee their share of arms and ammunition, iron, and salt, and distributing it very carefully among the soldiers of the county. Capt. Robert Robb, of Muncy township, formerly one of the committee, seems to have given them a deal of trouble. He was charged with havmg in his possession " a paper supposed to be from Lord Howe, concerning conditions of peace, of which said Robb said, ' this is the very thing 1 would be at;' and says further, Mr. Frankling (Dr. Franklin) was a rogue, he well knew, and that he had led the government into two or three scrapes already known to him ; also, it was thought Frankling had a pension from home ; likewise, that it was thought the convention was bribed. Also that said Robb says that Lord Howe used the members of congress politely that was sent to treat with him, but that they used him ill." The committee ordered that Robb should "either take his gun and march with the militia of the county into actual service, to prove his attachment to the American cause, or else be confined until released by further authority". (Here followed some expunging in the record.) Col. Jas. Murray was appointed to arrest and confine him ; who, having full confidence in Robb's patriotism, and "Out of lenity to said Robb's family, saw fit to appoint the mansion-house of said Robb as a prison for him, on a promise of his good behavior for the future." Robb, however, seems to have practised good behavior as he understood it; for when one Peter Smith had intruded himself several times into the company of Robb and another gentleman, who were " drinking a half pint together," Robb knocked him down, and bruised him severely,-and thereupon further " said that the committee were a set of rascals-some of them were robbers, some were horse-thieves, and some of them were murderers-and further saith not." This incensed the committee so, that they ordered Col. Murray to take Robb to Philadelphia ; but Murray resigned, and two other men were appointed to the duty. (End) Family returned to Carlisle (Sudbury) area during "The great runaway" for safety. One story indicates Robert Robb burned his wagons, buried the hardware, then recovered the parts and built new wagons when he returned to Muncy. Found on assessor tax listing, Muncy Twp, 1774 and Northumberland Census; enumeration lists Page 9 of 189

Wit: John Fleming, Alexander Fleming, Thos. Pimm. (Note: all numeric amounts listed in Pounds) The Robb children are listed as being born in Northumberland County, which may be incorrect. It is opined in the "Life and Times" that Robert Robb brought his family to the area about 1772, which means the first five children listed may have been born in Cumberland County which was formed in Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming had the following children: 12. i. JOHN 3 ROBB (son of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) 8, 15, 28 was born on 23 Jan 1761 in Northumberland, PA. He died on 01 Jul 1831 in Lycoming, PA. He married IDA WALDRON about 1790 in Pennsylvania, daughter of Cornelius Waldron and Sarah Van Tyne. She was born in 1768 in Hunterdon, NJ. She died on 29 Mar 1834 in Lycoming, PA?. 13. MARY ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 19 Sep 1762 in Northumberland, PA. She died on 25 Jul 1844 in Plunkett Creek, Lycoming, PA 29. She married JOHN HILL on 15 Mar 1796 in Muncy, Northumberland, PA?. He was born on 26 Sep 1752 in Upton, Leicester, England. He died on 01 Jul 1834 in Plunkett Creek, Lycoming, PA i ANNA ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 18 Nov 1764 in Northumberland, PA. She died on 30 Nov 1848 in Wolf, Lycoming, PA. She married ABRAM WEBSTER on 29 Mar 1791 in Northumberland, PA. He was born in 1765 in England 31. He died on 11 Mar 1829 in Lycoming, PA 32. iv. JANE ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) 33 was born on 23 Oct 1766 in Northumberland, PA 33. She died in 1783 in Northumberland, PA.

Generation 2 (con't) 1766 in Northumberland, PA 33. She died in 1783 in Northumberland, PA. Notes for Jane Robb: "Life and Times" listing is the only traceable source I have found for Jane Robb's data. This leads me to believe that Meginness was given access to and used the family Bible (which was then in the possession of Robert Robb's grandson Robert Robb) as the basis for the Robb children, related marriages and families as listed in the "Life and Times" publication. 15. v. MARGARET ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 28 Nov 1768 in Northumberland, PA 34. She died in Nov 1860 in Lycoming, Pennsylvania 35. She married JACOB SHOEMAKER about 1794 in Pennsylvania, adopted son of Henry Shoemaker and Barbara Kepner. He was born on 07 Mar 1769 in Shoemakerville, Berks, PA. He died on 19 Aug 1826 in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA. vi. SARAH ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 04 Nov 1770 in Northumberland, PA. She died on 13 Aug 1852 in Lycoming, PA. She married JOHN UHL on 03 Nov 1808 in Lycoming Co, PA 36. He was born on 30 Oct 1777 in Pennsylvania? 37. He died on 22 May 1834 in Lycoming, PA. Notes for Sarah Robb: Have found no evidence of issue by John and Sarah Robb Uhl. Emma Crouse age 6 with household 1850, Muncy, Lycoming, PA - parents are John J and Grace Tucker Crouse, relationship to Sarah Robb Uhl now established to be correct; Grace Tucker Crouse is daughter of Joseph Tucker and Susanna Robb, making Emma a grand-niece 16. v SUSANNA ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 18 Oct 1772 in Northumberland, PA 38. She died in She married JOSEPH TUCKER about 1803 in Pennsylvania, son of Thomas Tucker and Mary Ellis. He was born about 1765 in Pennsylvania. He died in Dec 1812 in Muncy, Lycoming, PA? vi JAMES ROBB (son of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) 15, 40 was born on 15 Mar 1775 in Northumberland, PA. He died on 05 Mar He married MARY SMITH before 1814 in Muncy, Lycoming, Pa. She was born on 26 Jun 1788 in New Jersey 40. She died on 08 May ix. ISABELLA ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) 5 was born on 16 Nov 1777 in Northumberland, PA 5. She died on 30 Jul 1847 in Muncy, Lycoming, Pa 5. She married GEORGE SHOEMAKER about 1800 in Lycoming, PA?, son of Henry Shoemaker and Barbara Kepner. He was born on 24 Feb 1778 in Shoemakerville, Berks, PA 41. He died on 22 Jul 1848 in Muncy, Lycoming, Pa x. ELIZABETH ROBB (daughter of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) was born on 07 Jul 1780 in Northumberland, PA. She died on 02 Feb 1846 in probably Northumberland, PA. She married ROBERT IRELAND about 1809 in Northumberland, PA 42, son of David Irland and Lenora Murray. He was born on 31 May 1762 in Scotland 43. He died on 31 Oct 1845 in probably Northumberland, PA 44, xi. WILLIAM FLEMING ROBB (son of Robert Robb and Susannah Fleming) 5 was born on 12 Dec 1782 in Northumberland, PA. He died on 09 Jan 1863 in Sullivan, Pennsylvania. He married MARY SHOEMAKER before 1808 in Probably Lycoming, PA. She was born on 10 Dec 1786 in Pennsylvania. She died on 04 Feb 1864 in Sullivan, Pennsylvania. 4. JOHN 2 ROBB (John Robb the 1 Elder) 8, 9, 15, 16 was born about 1732 in Chester or Lancaster Co, PA? 17. He died about 1793 in near Clarkstown, Lycoming, PA 18. He married JERUSHA CRAFT before 1788 in Muncy, Lycoming, PA?. She was born on 01 Oct 1759 in Fishkill, Dutchess, New York 19, 20. She died on 01 Mar 1842 in Lycoming Co, PA 19. Page 11 of 189

Generation 2 (con't) York 19, 20. She died on 01 Mar 1842 in Lycoming Co, PA 19. Notes for John Robb: Date of birth could be suspect since he was not a signatory of the 1756 petition, as were brothers James and Robert. There is speculation that John was a child of a second marriage (as well as the rest of the younger children) and thus may not have been of age at that time. Other indicators include the great differential in age to Jerusha Craft, and his longevity after dealing with the harsh conditions he would have encountered during the revolution. If he was the offspring of a second marraige, his DOB could have occurred somewhat later than noted in previous releases of this data. Listed as "freeman" in 1753 Sadsbury, Chester county, which would place his DOB circa 1732 This John assisted in "laying out first road" in Muncy Twp, 1772 Found on assessor tax listing, Muncy Twp, 1774, 1778 Colonel Plunkett's 3rd Battalion, 3rd Company Commander - Captain John Robb. Served from 1775 thru 1778, wintered at Valley Forge during his service ( , see endnote 16). Promotion to Captaincy 13 Mar 1776, Pennsylvania State Regiment. From a veteran's pension application: On 28 August 1820, personally appeared in open Court of Common Pleas for Centre County, CHARLES McLAN, aged 68, resident of the Town of Milesborough, Centre County, who being duly sworn declares that on 30 September 1776, he enlisted for twenty-one months in Captain WEITZEL's company, was placed under Capt. JOHN ROBB and marched from Centre County, then Northumberland county, to Marcus Hook and from thence to New York, to the Long island, and was in the battle of Long Island where he was slightly wounded in several places, was taken prisoner on that day by the British, but made his escape the next night. He was also in the battle of Brandywine and in the battle of Germantown and several other small engagements, and was discharged on the first day of January He enlisted again in Captain HERD's company of Light Dragoons and marched from Carlisle to Lancaster, and from Lancaster to Reading, and was not discharged until peace was made. Possibly found at "McDonald's" Fort in , but that individual may also been a son of the Joseph Robb who immigrated in 1730 (yet they could still have been related). This John Robb in the 1790 Northumberland County PA census; enumeration shows He preceded his wife in death "by nearly 50 years" per Jerusha's obit. Will recorded 1793, Pennsylvania Archives. "Life and Times" indicates POD "near Clarkstown". Page 12 of 189 Notes for Jerusha Craft: One of nine children; older brother Jesse Craft was a Captain in the Revolutionary War, he died

Generation 2 (con't) One of nine children; older brother Jesse Craft was a Captain in the Revolutionary War, he died during his term of service. May have married in Fishkill, NY area rather than Lycoming county. The Crafts family history is explicit in lineage for this Jerusha Craft. DOD nearly 50 years after John Robb, per obit; listed as 03 Mar 1842 in "The Crafts Family History". From Egle's notes; Father was Samuel Craft, who "was born near Muncy" and migrated to Lycoming County area in 1838 (Muncy Creek 1800 tax assessment rolls list several Craft families). "Samuel was father of 9 children", including a "Jerusha". This Samuel served as Deputy Sheriff of Lycoming County, but there is a huge problem with chronology re this Jerusha being the daughter of the above Samuel. See above notes! Per "The Crafts Family History" data located August 2008, the Samuel described above, was a cousin, the child of Jerusha's uncle, William Craft John Robb and Jerusha Craft had the following children: 21. i. MARY 3 ROBB (daughter of John Robb and Jerusha Craft) 5 was born on 17 Feb 1789 in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA. She died on 03 Sep 1876 in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA 5. She married JACOB FIESTER about 1803 in Muncy, Lycoming, Pa 5, son of Gottfried Fiester and Mary Magdelena Kepner. He was born on 27 Nov 1782 in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA 5. He died on 22 Mar 1818 in Muncy Creek, Lycoming, PA 5. JOHN CRAFT ROBB (son of John Robb and Jerusha Craft) 46 was born about 1793 in Muncy, Lycoming, Pa. He died about 1872 in Wills, LaPorte, IN?. Notes for John Craft Robb: Have found DOB reference as late as 1809, much too late to be a son of John and Jerusha Robb (his father, John Robb the son of John Robb the elder, passed in 1792 or 1793). "Life and Times" indicates that he was a successful businessman in LaPorte, IN and died unmarried. There is some confusion between this John C Robb and Robert Robb's grandson John C (Jack) Robb, likely due to the ambiguous descriptions contained in the "Life and Times" publication. "The Crafts Family History" states that a cousin (by name of Joseph Craft) of this John C Robb "lived at LaPorte, Indiana" Mary Parker age 45 (b PA 1805) was living in John Robb household in Muncy, Lycoming, PA during 1850 census, no relationship indicated. Mary Parker age 63 (b PA 1797) was living in John Robb household in Kankakee, Laporte, IN during 1860 census, no relationship indicated. Mary Parker age 68 (b PA 1802) was living in John Robb household in Wills, LaPorte, IN during 1870 census, no relationship indicated (keeping house). 5. ISABELLA 2 ROBB (John Robb the 1 Elder) was born about 1737 in Lancaster Co, PA?. She died after 1819 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. She married JAMES IRWIN after 1758 in probably Cumberland Co, PA. He was born about 1730 in Pennsylvania? 22. He died in 1809 in probably Mercer Co, PA. Page 13 of 189 Notes for Isabella Robb: Found in John Robb (the elder) will probated 1762 May not have been at age of majority when John Robb's will was written, which would make her

Generation 2 (con't) May not have been at age of majority when John Robb's will was written, which would make her younger than as indicated. May also be found as Isabel, Isobel or Isobella Cumberland County, Pennsylvania church records of the 18th century By F. Edward Wright, page 35 Big Spring Presbyterian Church Listed are James Irwin and Isabel Irwin Named in David Robb will executed 18 Oct 1818, Cumberland Co, PA DOB speculated. she might have been born later than David Robb, who was not "of age" in 1761; that would put her DOB in the 1740's. Female gender did not have "of age" restrictions, as they were considered chattel, expected to be married, and their husbands would handle all responsibility for any liabilities or other legal requirements. Have not found any archival reference to a will, which would lead me to believe that she passed before James Irwin, or possibly remarried after his demise. Husband James (Irvin) Irwin is found in the "Life and Times" publication and in David Robb's will. Will of James Irwin (d 1809) discovered August 2016 fits Chronographically, and lists children. Page 14 of 189 Notes for James Irwin: "Life and Times" lists "brother in law James Irvin" Was named Power of Attorney by and for Robert Robb in regard to land holdings in Kentucky promised by British Crown for military service in James and Isabella living in Cumberland Co, PA in 1806 (named and place specified in probable brother Samuel Irwin"s will and in brother-in-law David Robb's 1819 will) IRWIN, SAMUEL, Middleton. Codicil: January 21, Matthew Miller. G Property at "Big Spring" was listed in Samuel Irwin's will (above), which is place of residence listed in Robert Robb Power of Attorney dated 1809 ("Life and Times").

Generation 2 (con't) Surname found as Irwin, Erwin, Urwin, Irvin, Irvine (also possibly Irwing / Irving). Found this will August 2016, have no physical proof other than it feeling correct in the continuity of this family: Pennsylvania Wills and Probate Records, Mercer Will books, Vol 1-3, I, James Irwin, late of Northumberland County but now of Mercer in the State of Pennsylvania, being of sound mind but very weak in body, and knowing the uncertainty of life and the Certainty of death: think it a duty I owe to myself and my family to direct what shall be done with my worldly property after my decease so that no injustice may take place amongst my heirs and others concerned. First after I am decently buried without any unnecessary expense and after all my just debts are paid, and every necessary charge to complete a final statement of all my unsettled accounts is laid in and paid off, I will and bequeath unto my loving wife Isabella Irwin the whole residue of my estate, real personal and mixed, to be disposed of in such manner and to such persons as she think proper and in order to be perfectly understood and to remove all doubts which might arise on the subject, I hereby declare it to be my will and pleasure that no part of my estate whatever either real personal or mixed be given to any one or more of my children whose names I have directed should be enrolled in this my last will and testament. To wit: Margaret Irwin alias Graham (being the wife of Thomas Graham) Rachel Irwin William Irwin, Andrew Irwin, Mary Irwin, Jean Irwin alias Scott (being the wife of Joseph Scott) Mathew Irwin and Isabella Irwin, my Youngest, being eight in number; And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my well beloved wife Isabella, to be Executrix of this, my last will giving and hereby granting to her besides what is given and granted above, full power and authority to carry into effect this my last will and testament. According to the true intent and meaning hereof this testimony whereof the said James Irwin hath here unto set his hand and seal (after having it plainly read) this eleventh day of October, One thousand eight hundred and nine. Read Signed and Acknowledged in our presence the day and the year last above mentioned. Signed Jas Irwin Seal (witness) Ben Stokely Robert Irwin I have added the heirs listed to this tree, and provided plausible birth dates for each, the order listed may not be correct chronographically. If there are family members out there who could vouch for the veracity of, or disprove this connection, please contact me. James Irwin and Isabella Robb had the following children: 22. i. MARGARET 3 IRWIN (daughter of James Irwin and Isabella Robb) was born about 1770 in Northumberland County, PA. She married THOMAS GRAHAM. He was born in 1757 in Pennsylvania?. i iv. RACHEL IRWIN (daughter of James Irwin and Isabella Robb) was born about 1772 in Pennsylvania.
