Our studies of the Old Testament Prophets and John The Baptist tell us about God s plan of salvation for all mankind both genders, all races, all colors, all languages, and all nationalities. The Bible declares, All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. At the center of God s plan is Jesus, The light of the world. We ve waited all year to celebrate His birth. Let the name of Jesus be praised. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. This Day In Church History... December 23, On this date five missionary couples from the United States prayed and prepared themselves to go to the Auca people in the jungles of Equador to bring them the Gospel. The Auca people had never heard about Jesus before. Realizing they would out of touch for a long time, they celebrated Christmas before they launched out into the jungles. They were following Jesus command, Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel. Did You Know...? The Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all tell us that The Messiah would be a descendant of King David. If you read Matthew, chapter I, you see that Jesus indeed was a descendant of King David. Unfortunately, the exact date of Jesus birth is unknown. December 25th was chosen by the early church as an approximate date. Experts and historians agree that His death occurred on April 3, 33 A.D. On The Lighter Side of Church During the Advent Season the pastor of a certain church was teaching a group of youngsters about the meaning of The Advent Wreath> He told them what the three purple candles represented. Then he asked, Does anyone know what the pin candle represent? Little Sara s hand went up, as was all exited. She said, Does that mean they re having a girl? Do you know a joke you can submit?
