Dear Moer Thrice Admirable, fifty years ago you came to Minnesota wi a handful of sisters to administer e Divine Providence Hospital and Home in Ivanhoe. The Schoenstatt Family grew slow and steady in e Lincoln County area, branching out via our 1 st Movement Coordinator, Sister M Juliana Najarro, to e Twin Cities and Brookings. We honor and rejoice over your victories! The covenant of love wi you, Mary, did spread from town to town, e Schoenstatt Girls You increased via e summer camps and e many sisters working wi e girls and Moms and Dads. The Schoenstatt Faers sent Faer Dieter Haas who brought welcomed seasonal retreats wi confession and opportunities for home shrine dedications and covenants sealed in e shrine. We honor and rejoice over your victories! The farmhouse expanded by incredible benefactor miracles in 1981 and From your shrine you oversaw each shovel dug and each nail hammered as e Schoenstatt Sisters have placed personnel to serve e Diocese of New Ulm and surrounding states. To date, our most recent transfers include a farewell to Sister Ellen Marie and a welcome to our new superior, Sister Mary Kate. Our you sister is now Sister M Faustina and e new cook is Sister M Mayrelis. Sister M Ellen continues e sacristy work and helps wherever needed, Sister M Candace is working at e Pastoral Center in New Ulm, and Sister M Jessica continues wi e adult movement work. Looking toward our founder, Faer Joseph Kentenich, and his words at e 25 Jubilee of e Original Shrine in Germany, we could use his same litany of gratitude in most regards! He wrote so lovingly of you, dear Moer Thrice Admirable at: All at has come about from here is HER work. In our ranks she has enkindled a heroic living and striving for sanctity rough her intercession. To her we owe a delicate sense of purity and intactness, a sense for e development of noble, creative faerliness and moerliness, and e longing for a burning love of God and souls. She has given us e monumental structure of our ascetical and educational system, which can be so perfectly adapted to e God-given uniqueness of each individual and community. She helped us find our personal and community ideals. She was always ere, in spite of e many times we failed, and gave us e courage again and again to reach for e stars. All e houses which we have built or been able to acquire, bo at home and abroad, are her property. She has seen to it at we always looked on all our present difficulties as tasks at must be courageously undertaken for our time. She has opened our eyes to e great law on which our family is built: As a child of war we can only grow and prosper rough battle and strife, rough trials and persecution. Wiout her we would never have been able to steer a prudent course or preserved our clear views in e midst of e differences of opinion in e Caolic world; nor could we have pursued our course so calmly and perseveringly. She has formed and educated us as a family and as individuals into what we are and has conquered and secured for us e place in e Church which we hold today. Wow Minnesota, we were told: Sr M Jessica, Connie Laqui, Mike & René Kisrow, Judy Pipke, Dave Baker, James & Tim Wolf, Mark & Chris Rockers, Mary Lou Hubly (Son Joseph & Rachel w/terez are not on photo), Jenny Baker & Alicia Hernandez. Connie Laqui began wi Schoenstatt in 1978 when she was an anesetist at Hennepin County, Minneapolis: Sister M Juliana came to stay at Linda Castillo s home and ey asked me and my husband, future-deacon Sonny, to join a Schoenstatt Group. I didn t feel like going! When I tell people Schoenstatt isn t showy, ere is usually a slow grow at helps you inside and outside; we are not in competition raer it is you, Blessed Moer, who I ask to help me do what I can in being instrumental in building e Kingdom! I love Schoenstatt: my career, my marriage, my family are all interwoven wi my love of e MTA and her covenant. I am a child of God. Actually wi my work from e ER and operating rooms, I tell you: This is a Reality: The MTA is my partner in everying I do! She was right ere every time ings got critical; ere was never a blood vein at she couldn t find. Our Schoenstatt prayers have helped me so much in my life. The shrine graces are auentic. When we are open, she will transform us in amazing ways! For e next 40 years, my advice would be to re-build your Schoenstatt Spirituality (in whichever state you find yourself) to deepen and enliven your fai. Connie & Deacon Sonny belong to e FTA group, who renewed eir 35 Covenant Jubilee for Oct 10, 2016: Linda Castillo (and +Roland-CA); Alicia Hernandez, Carmelita Jimenez, Cording (and Ignacio) Munar, Paquita Hernandez, Alice & Drony Castillo. Connie flew in from Las Vegas, NV, where she moved in 2003, for Oct 16. Dave and I have been blessed to attend e Leaders Meeting at e International Shrine in Waukesha, WI, from Oct 7-9. We helped to share what e Minnesota Schoenstatt Family has been doing e past year, and en helped via prayer and discussion, to discern what is God's will for Schoenstatt in e next year. Faer Mark Niehaus helped us to narrow it down and look at what we are facing in e world today. We recognized at ere is a lot of anxiety and hatred in e world. We also know at our Lord Jesus Christ is victorious and we have no need to fear, and we have our MTA leading us to e Faer! Our Motto reflects just at! Our Motto is... FEAR NOT! PROCLAIM THE FATHER'S LOVE. The motto is relevant for our lives today, wi lots of external and internal worries. The world can be a scary place. Our motto asks us to boldly go out and share e Faer's love wi anoer person! Do it via our covenant wi Mary. How can we do is? Be aware at Divine Providence provides opportunities to share our fai! A personal example was when someone noticed e MTA picture on my notebook, which opened a conversation about Schoenstatt! I also found Faer Kentenich quoted in a book about e Rosary (which he was a great believer in). 3 40 Jubilee of e Shrine at Sleepy Eye, MN On Sunday, October 16, 2016, e Schoenstatt Family celebrated e 40 Anniversary of e Schoenstatt Shrine which stands on e shore of Lake Sleepy Eye. It was truly a day blessed in every respect from weaer to graces, people to food, praying to conversing, and re-savoring to listing all at has come about since October 3, Over 100 persons (from seven states) gaered by 10:00 am to hear Sister M Elizabe Dingbaum and Sister M Jean Frisk share from eir personal experiences wi Schoenstatt s Founder, Faer Joseph Kentenich, and eir reminiscing from e actual shrine building time. Wi a warm homey delivery ey pointed out how Divine Providence did indeed provide for all at was needed to give is State of 10,000 Lakes a shrine where people can pray and receive spiritual directives for eir lives and petitions. It IS a place of pilgrimage for ousands in e Midwest. Bo speakers were able to talk wi Faer Kentenich about eir vocation calls. He could advise em how to seek and answer God s will. This shrine has also become a spring of vocations for e Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary, e Schoenstatt Faers, and movement groups of couples, moers, you, and pilgrims; as well as serving as a mecca for summer camps for over 40 years. Faer Robert Goblirsch led e meal prayer and after e noon banquet, Theresia Miller and Theresa Kisrow showed a PowerPoint on e World You Day in Poland; Caerine LeBrun shared from e Schoenstatt Girls Summer Camp; Jenny Baker explained e year s motto: Fear Not, Proclaim e Faer s Love!; and Mark Rockers showed e miniature Holy Family Statues which are now available at e Gift Shop. Faer Randal Kasel, assisted by Deacon Mark Kober, offered Holy Mass followed by a procession to e Door of Mercy at e Shrine wi Benediction and renewal of e Covenant of Love. Leo Bromenschenkel sketched a magnet for is ruby jubilee and more refreshments and activities were enjoyed by all. In his homily Faer Kasel explained how much fai was needed to build is shrine as e spring board for e retreat center and events at we enjoy today. He pointed out at when Jesus comes again, will he find fai on is ear? Will ours be a dead or a living fai? We want to be among ose who believe God cares for me in is moment. We live in e mercy of e Heavenly Faer, instruments in his plan of love. One text is day read: Thinking of you and praying for you as you celebrate e 40 anniversary. Even ough we are not active in e Schoenstatt Movment, we continue to benefit from your work and ask e Blessed Moer for many graces for you, today and always! It is beautiful to ink of how many hearts and souls have passed rough e shrine door in ese past four decades. Don t worry, Our MTA does not forget you you are in her moerly heart forever! As we go forward, e Schoenstatt Family wants to keep anking e Blessed Moer for all e graces she gives. Deep heartfelt gratitude was echoed over and over for all who made ese 40 years possible! As one sent stated: This celebration day could not have been nicer or better executed. Helping make 300 shrine cookies are Eugenio Sablian, Sister M Faustina, Fran Martin, Gladwin, MI and Regina Appel, Ankeny, IA. Sister M Jean above wi Joyce & Dorrence DeCock, and Sister M Elizabe wi Delores Spae presented eir talks in e morning and en a delicious dinner, prepared by Sister M Mayrelis wi helpers was enjoyed by all. 3

4 Ruby 40 Joy Continues from Shrine Fest Memories and Two New Home Shrines Theresia Miller & Theresa Kisrow share from WYD Poland Event In May, Sister M Shirley brought e Radiant Hearts of Mary you group togeer: Laurie Reiner, Shelly Rhode, and Patty Berkner to share e protection of e MTA since eir consecration in Donna & Don Brinkman, long-time members, bring e Mass gifts. On Sunday, August 21, 2016, e Robert and Suzanne Befort Home Shrine to Mary, Untier of Knots was dedicated. Mary untied e first knot at all e children were home as Faer Francisco came to eir Mazeppa dairy farm for e blessing enroute to WI. Carol Dahl receives magnet from designer Leo Bromenschenkel. Four of e six 1976 Shrine Builders were re-united: Sisters M Jessica and M Jean, Sister Louis Byrne BVM, and Connie Plaetz. 4 On Sept 6 for e Blessed Moer s Birday, Faer Kyle Kowalczyk blessed e Home Shrine for e Azelton Family as Moer of Holy Hope and Love Everlasting. It was a blessed evening for em from e Divine Mercy Parish, Faribault, MN.

5 Covenants tell MTA: We love you Servant Soldiers of Virtue Blank Check Sarah Turner made her covenant on Aug 19, 2016, as she was unable to do it at summer camp. Faer Francisco, Jacinta Loomis, her group leader and You Sister, Sister M Faustina, are wi her. Many ings came togeer as e Servant Soldiers of Virtue couples group from e Andover area was preparing for eir blank check dedication for some years. After designing e blank checks and a treasure chest for e MTA, Robert Plante designed eir group logo from e five home shrine ideals (which Mike Kisrow displays in photo). Faer Francisco and Sister M Jessica directed e weekend of 60, which included ree more families. Stephen & Jenna Miller from Browersville, MN, made eir Family League Membership Dedication and Blank Check on Sept 26, 2016, after preparation at home. They felt called by e Holy Spirit for is time, as ey came for e Jubilee Year of Mercy Retreat Day. Robert & Be Plante, Dan & Mary Loomis, Don & Kendra Turner, Mike and René Kisrow, Naan & Jennifer Daubner came togeer and asked e MTA to spread her moerly mantle over eir families and to accept eir striving for holiness in e covenant. Each couple signed e blank checks on e altar realizing at she will provide for eir needs, as a child of Mary will never perish. Buttered Corn Days were enjoyed on Friday evening and e children ought is weekend should become a regular! Now e time had come for Carmelita Enriquez, Fridley, MN, to seal her covenant. Prepared since her 2014 Pilgrimage to Germany, she offered herself, her family, and loved ones to e MTA. 5

6 Flock Talk I have found at each time I read e Song of Songs, it leads to new ideas and meditations. And I look forward to reading it again and finding furer insights. I heard or read at saying, or someing similar, once upon a time, but I ve long since forgotten where. Obviously, e saying has stayed wi me all of ese years. I ink of e people at I love in my life. I am a faer, a son, a husband, a broer, and a friend. And e Bible gives us many examples of God loving us as a faer, of us being God s children, of us being siblings and friends to Jesus. But when it comes to comparing our relationship to Jesus to at of a marriage, often e images used are e Church as e bride of Christ in Ephesians 5:23-29 or e wedding feast of e Lamb in Revelation 19:79. It s not always as common for us to view our personal relationship wi Jesus as husband and wife. This leads into my favorite book of e Bible. It may be one of e least known and least quoted books and one rarely read during Mass: e Song of Songs. For ose who are not familiar, it is a fairly short book, only 8 chapters long. It is a ree-person play, including e bride, her friends (e daughters of Jerusalem ), and e groom. The bride expresses her love for e groom, and he for her, and ey each describe e physical beauty of eir beloved. Reading e book for e first time can be interesting, since e style of e book is so different from e rest of e Bible and e imagery of e bride and e groom describing e physical aspects of eir beloved aren t typical of inspirational writings. It will not appeal to everyone s tastes, and some may decide at e book is not for em. But rough prayerful meditation of e writings, I have come to see e book as a description of a deep, loving relationship wi Jesus. I meditate deeply upon Jesus saying, Arise, my beloved, my beautiful one, and come. (Song 2:10) I prayerfully answer, I belong to my lover, and for me he yearns. (Song 7:11) I read in chapter 5 about e bride hearing e groom knock on e door, but when she opens, he is not ere, and she must go out and look for him. I meditate on is reading along wi Luke 2:41-50 (Mary and Joseph searching for e child Jesus in Jerusalem) and John 1:38-39 (John s disciples asking where Jesus stays, and Jesus replies, Come and see. ), and I hear Jesus calling to me, asking me to search for him. Quarterly Intention: Fall is a season of change, and beauty as we observe a transition to fall colors in a palate at only God can create. During is season of change and magnificent beauty, let us offer God a daily prayer of anks and praise for all of His bountiful gifts. Let's also request e grace of e Holy Spirit and our Moer Thrice Admirable to help transform our hearts and e world in accordance wi God's beautiful plan for us all. Save e 2017 Dates!
