2 oreword Genesis 7:5 And Noah did all that the LORD commanded him. Hello friends Welcome to The Promise Cruise Many, many years ago, a man named Noah walked the face of the earth. He was a man who followed God. When it seemed the entire world around him was turning away from God, he stood firm even in the face of real adversity. In fact, God told Noah to build a giant ark in the middle of a desert in a land where it had never rained before. AND guess what? Noah did just as He told him to do and of course, you know the rest of the story. I don t know about you, but this year has been very troubled for me. My husband lost his job I started 2 new jobs my kids are both in college my dog is sick you name it it seems to have happened in the Andrews house. I have a giant piece of beautiful art scripture that hangs in my den that says Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. This year, I have found myself sadly questioning God s motives. Why does my husband not have a job? Why do I have to work so hard at my ripe old age of??? Ok, now, did you really think I would tell you my age?) What I am learning to do right now is to seek the Noah life. I am trying hard to trust. Trust that God has a real plan for my life. Trust that God loves my family and me and would never harm us or forsake us. Trust that in Dave losing his job, God will help him find a better job. Trust that there are truly rainbows in the sky of promise for us all. In a world where so much fear exists especially right now in our economy and even government we as Christians must lift each other up in steadfast prayer. We are going to need to be brave in the years to come. God is going to be asking us to do some amazing things which to the human mind might be as silly as building an ark in the desert. My prayer for you as you teach The Promise Cruise to your children, that you will grow in faith and trust in the Lord and empower yourself with his Word so that you as well as your children will be ready for anything the world sends your way. God s promise of love and care has never changed. It was here many years ago back in Noah s time it is here today and it will be here tomorrow. Praise God for all His love and promise. I have a heart full of joy and I just love to share it with the world every day. You are truly amazing, Hope, always looking on the bright side. Ok, I think it s time we get to our lead stories. Today, Joe Snerdly, a local resident, was robbed at the 1 st Bank and Trust ATM machine. A thief stole all Mr. Snerdly s money, leaving him in ruin. Now, the Pay or Else Loan Company has taken his home. That s just terrible In a related story, the stock market has dropped 300 points inally, the drought in the South has crushed the crops this season. How wonderful Wonderful? That is not wonderful, Dan. Whatever can we do? Never fear, Hope. Bad news sells. The more gloom and doom we can send out on the airwaves, the more viewers we have. The story of those wild fires in the West sent ratings through the roof What I remember about that story, Dan, was all the local churches helping feed and clothe the people who were left homeless by the fire. It was a wonderful story of kindness to our fellow man. Again, with the positive. You re just not getting it. Stay with me, Hope the more bad news the better. I m just telling it like I see it. You know I m right. That s reality, Hope. Dan, you need an attitude adjustment. You are constantly looking at the glass half empty instead of the good which is all around us. 12 21 Scene 3 CD: 6 Enough already, Dan. That rain situation in the south is the perfect segue to introduce our special guests. Today we have joining us the author of two books, I m Praying in the Rain, and This Old Ark, Dr. Ima Goodie. And joining Ima is the host of the hit TV show Talk to the Animals, famed archeologist and renowned expert on Noah s ark, Dr. Bill Rockstone audience applauds). Rockstone, and Goodie give us the big picture. After many years of searching in ark eological digs, Dr. Rockstone and I came upon some interesting ancient film footage. excited) Yes, we were in a major dig in the mountains of Ararat. excited) We were almost ready to pack up and head for our tents, when we came upon this interesting find. Looks like some kind of old CD. Yes, but remarkably, if you place this disc into a present day DVD player we can actually view a snapshot into the life and times of Captain Noah and his Promise Cruise Line. Simply remarkable. And we have this giant projection screen assembled to reveal to the world an exclusive look into the past. Yes, for the first time, we have an inside view of what life was like for Noah, his family, and of course life on the mighty ark. inally, we can know Noah Know a what? Noah. 15 Scene 4 CD: 8 30 Split Track CD: 27 How exciting to hear about this wonderful man of the sea, Captain Noah. Dr. Rockstone, tell us more. What kind of man was Noah? That s a great question. Noah was truly a man of God. It is said that Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord. Noah had a wonderful family. He had a wife and three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The world during Noah s time was not good. The people did not follow God. So God decided to send a great flood to remove all the evil. The amazing thing is that in this land it had never rained before. Never rained? Never. Sounds interesting even to a newsman. So what happened next? God told Noah to build an ark. Just imagine what it was like for Noah and his family as they obeyed God and built the ark plank by plank for all the world to see. I think it s time we take a peek into the past. Dr. Goodie, insert the disc. Dr. Goodie inserts the disc into the DVD.) Play DVD start-up sound effect.) Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth appear in the TV frame in construction gear with hammers and hard hats.) Noah: Shem: Ham: Noah: Japheth: No, sons, God said he wanted the ark to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. You need to add a foot on the top. Sorry dad. We re on it. That s Ok, boys. I know you re doing your best. We want the Promise Cruise to be just how God planned it. I m heading over to gather some more pitch for the hull. You know, we want to keep our passengers nice and dry. Noah exits.) Shem, I told you that you measured wrong. Be more careful next time.

16 31 Townsperson: Uh, excuse me whatever do you think you are doing? Shem: Ham: We are building an ark, ma am we re building the first boat of our Promise Cruise Line. Yep, doesn t it look great? Townsperson: Well, it looks kind of strange for you to be building an ark out here in the desert. Where s the water to float that boat? Japheth: That is one little detail that we are leaving to the Man upstairs. You are welcome to join us. Our father says that we ll be sailing in just a few days. Townsperson: Um no thank you. I think I ll keep my feet on dry land. To another townsperson) What a shame Noah is so wrapped up in his God that he is making a fool of himself and his entire family. Song 4 Rain, Rain

The ark took one hundred years to build. One hundred years That is unbelievable But the good thing is that Noah never gave up. He stayed faithful to God So what happened next? This next segment was a wonderful find. You see, God did not only want to save Noah and his family God wanted to save all his creation. Let s play the footage. Play DVD start-up sound effect.) He was truly a great man. He did everything and I mean everything that God commanded him to do. And what happened next is truly astounding Ok, I ll bite what happened next? It rained Not a sprinkle or drizzle I mean real rain It rained like never before According to our research, water even sprung up out of the ground. It rained for forty days and forty nights until the entire earth was completely flooded. Sadly, all the people were lost except Noah and his family. A truly gloomy story. disappointed) I was kind of hoping that things would turn out OK. Dan, do I sense a little positive attitude coming out of you? Maybe a little. I would like to know a Noah like that Noah. Dan No, really. Noah believed and followed God when no one else seemed to care. Never fear, Dan. The story is not over. Yes, in fact, this is where everything begins. So what happened? Did they sink like the Titanic? Get marooned on a deserted island? Or land in the stomach of a whale? No, that s a story I will tell you another day. What happened next was truly amazing. One day Noah felt the ark stop. He sent out a dove to look for dry land, but there was water all over the earth so it returned to the ark. Let s roll the footage to see what happens next. Play DVD start-up sound effect.)

What about Joe Snerdly? How can he make his life better? He lost everything And what about me? I m alone in this world. My parents died a few years ago, and I miss them. So that s why you re such a grump. I guess that s part of it. How can you make things better for Joe and for me? Now, it s time for the rest of the story. It seems that the church Joe Snerdly attended took up a collection to help him. God is there for all of us if we just open our hearts to Him. You see, that is why I m so happy all the time, Dan. I have God in my life. And because God loves us, He sent us Jesus, His one and only Son, to save us. Just like He sent the ark to save Noah. Jesus made the way for us to know God. God loves you, too, Dan. I want to know Him, Hope. I m your friend, Dan God is even a better friend. He s there for His children every second of the day. Children what do you mean?
