Strong's identifies the term "Sadducee" (G4523) as "Tsadokian" (Za-doe-ki-an) meaning 'of Zadok'. One theory states that the "Tsadokians" were decendants of the Priest Zadok. Another theory holds that this term does not identify the Priest Zadok, but mearly the word "zadok" (G4524) meaning 'rightous'.
