1 Omer Day 44- Psalm 119: A PRAYER FOR HELP BA-RUCH A-TAH ADO-NAI E-LO-HE-NU ME-LECH HA-OLAM ASHER KID-E-SHA-NU BE- MITZ-VO-TAV VETZI-VA-NU AL SEFI-RAT HA-OMER. Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer. Master of the universe, You have commanded us through Moses Your servant to count Sefirat Ha-Omer, in order to purify us from our evil and uncleanness. As You have written in Your Torah, "You shall count for yourselves from the day following the day of rest, from the day on which you bring the Omer as a waveoffering; [the counting] shall be for seven full weeks. Until the day following the seventh week shall you count fifty days," so that the souls of Your people Israel may be cleansed from their defilement. Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord our God and God of our fathers, that in the merit of the Sefirat Ha-Omer which I counted today, the blemish that I have caused in the sefirah Tiferes ShebeChesed be rectified and I may be purified and sanctified with supernal holiness. May abundant bounty thereby be bestowed upon all the worlds. May it rectify our nefesh, ruach and neshamah from every baseness and defect, and may it purify and sanctify us with Your supernal holiness. Psa 119:173 Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts. Psa 119:174 I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law is my delight. Great is Torah, for it gives life to its observers in this world, and in the World To Come. As is stated (Proverbs 4:22): "For they are life to he who finds them, and a healing to all his flesh." And it says (ibid. 3:8): "It shall be health to your navel, and marrow to your bones." And it says (3:18): "She is a tree of life for those who hold fast to her, and happy are those who support her." And it says (1:9): "For they shall be a garland of grace for your head, and necklaces about your neck." And it says(4:9): "She shall give to your head a garland of grace, a crown of glory she shall grant you." And it says (9:11): "With me, your days shall be increased, and years of life shall be added to you." And it says (3:16): "Long days in her right hand; in her left, wealth and honor." And it says (3:2): "For long days, years of life and peace, they shall add to you."

4 TAV THE SYMBOL OF TRUTH AND PERFECTION Tav i Early Middle Late Modern Ancient Name: Taw Pictograph: Crossed Sticks Meanings: Mark, Sign, Signal, Monument Sound: T The Ancient picture History & Reconstruction is a type of "mark," probably of two sticks crossed to mark a place, similar to the Egyptian hieroglyph, a picture of two crossed sticks. This letter has the meanings of "mark," "sign" and "signature." The Modern, Arabic and Greek names for this letter is tav (or taw), a word meaning, "mark.", Greek and Arabic agree that the sound for this letter is "t." The early pictograph evolved into in the Middle Semitic script and continued to evolve (ת into in the Late Semitic Script. From the middle Semitic script is derived the Modern. The Early Semitic script is the origin of the Greek and the Latin T. The last letter of the alphabet is also one of the five letters that changes its sound depending on whether it has a dagesh (dot) in the middle or not - but that change of sound is highly dependent on the community of origin. Most Sephardim do not make any distinction between the two letters. Ashkenazim, however, will pronounce the letter with the dagesh as a t and without a dagesh as an s. Jews from Yemen pronounce the one without the dot as a th. More than any other letter in the alphabet, these differences in pronunciation of the tav distinguish Jewish communities from one another. Most interesting of all, however, is that the common English translation of certain nouns may also demonstrate that the Yemenite pronunciation is the most historically accurate. Two examples:

5 Shin-Bet-Tav: Ashkenazim say Shabbos, Sephardim say Shabbat and Yemenites say Shabbath. The English rendition of the word is Sabbath. Reish-Vav-Tav: Ashkenazim say Roos, Sephardim say Root and Yemenites say Ruth. The English rendition of the word is Ruth. Tav is the first letter of the word tamim, which means complete or whole. Mastering the complete alphabet from aleph through tav, completes the first step in opening the majestic and mystical doors to the language and to texts. The letter tav has the numeric value of 400.
