For example, several issues are real: defining the Bible off limits to government policy, such that only non-biblical policies are politically correct; history has been rewritten and not taught historically, but by spin; instead of laws favoring the rich capitalists who create jobs, government is trying to help all the poor people and reducing creation of good paying jobs, we have more unemployment or underemployment; churches fail to promote morality, citizens do not understand what they can do Constitutionally and hope elected officials will solve the problems they created by their previous efforts. The list goes on and on. Unless we can promote good according to God s Word, I believe we will have more Bust, than Boom. ARK is in the educational business. We promote true science, actual history, Biblical accuracy, and a literal, in context, six (Earth- Standard) day Creation about six thousand years ago. This next 15 months we want to do this on a much bigger scale. We have GREAT resources. Our banquet speaker is Bodie Hodge, from Answers in Genesis. We need a lot of you planning to come. It will be a great program. It will be a fund raiser. Next year we are planning to have Ken Ham in Dayton for a major program. We are hoping to also have several other speakers for a big educational and inspirational week. How big? That depends on your interest and support. I would like to get the Dayton Convention Center for a big program. At least we need the largest church possible (or multiple churches). To do the biggest, most effective program, we need several thousand dollars up front for that to happen. We can do smaller programs at lower cost and effectiveness. 2 PAGE 2 Scientific Truths of the Bible Part 15: Archeology By Mark Jurkovich T he scientific implications contained in the first 11 chapters of Genesis are enormous. It has taken most of the first 14 articles in this series just to get through a rough overview of them. But now we will cover a subject that covers much of the rest of the bible in just one article. If you read a secular archeology article, or watch an archeology show on television, you may find them questioning Biblical accounts or even claiming the Bible to be false. This has happened many times over the past century. But in case after case, as new evidence comes to light, the Biblical account is vindicated as accurate. For example, secular historians used to doubt the existence of Pontius Pilot until a stone was discovered in Caesarea. It bears an inscription which translates Pontius Pilot the Prefect of Judea. This put to rest any doubt that Pilot was an historical figure. Dr. Paul Maier of Western Michigan University has even stated in an interview that over 90% of places named in the Bible have been verified, and 99% of New Testament places. No other ancient religious text can make such a claim. To emphasize the veracity of Biblical accounts in regards to archeology, I will cover two of the most ancient events after Genesis. For a long time, secular historians have dismissed the exodus, or claimed it to be a minor migration. Much of this dismissal stems from the discontinuity between the Biblical timeline and accepted Egyptian chronology. Comparison between the two puts the exodus in the middle of the affluent 18 th dynasty of Egypt, and the first dynasty more than 700 years be- Chart from Timing is everything: A talk with field archaeologist David Down, Creation, Vol 27, n 3, 2005 fore the flood. Where did this Egyptian chronology come from? It is based on a 3rd century BC (after the last dynasty) historian named Manetho who compiled the length of Pharaohs reigns. None of his writings survived, only as quoted by later historians (inc. Josephus and Eusebius), and these sometimes conflict. Historians simply summed up the reigns to make the chronology. But it has since been shown that many of the reigns were contemporary, significantly shortening the total length of the Egyptian empire. For example, the 16th & 17th dynasties were contemporary, with one king ruling the delta region and a vassal king ruling the upper Nile region from Thebes. When these overlapping dynasties are accounted for, then Israel s time in Egypt takes (Continued on page 4)

Note these many amazing matches: - Sesostris I from early in the 12 th dynasty had a vizier, Mentuhotep who matches well with Joseph! - A canal dug during the 12 th dynasty is called Joseph s canal. - Writings from this period mention a 7 year famine. - Pyramids of this period were made of mud bricks. - Sesostris III matches the description of the cruel tyrant who would oppress Israel. - Archaeological evidence supports Semitic slavery in latter half of 12 th dynasty. - Amenemhet III had no son, which fits with a willingness to adopt Moses as grandson. His daughter later took over (Moses adopted mother?). - The Ipuwar Papyrus, which can be dated to this period describes many of the plagues that struck Egypt! - Neferhotep s (short 13 th dynasty) tomb has never been found (drowned with his army?). - After his death, Neferhotep s brother took over instead of his son (because son died with the other firstborn). - The 13th dynasty ended shortly after, with the collapse of central rule, and the country in shambles. The Hyksos then swarmed into Egypt and occupied it without a battle (no Egyptian army left to fight them!). - In the town of Asiatic, slaves were found, many coffins of babies, and many items left ARKY s CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE Questions about Bible trustworthiness, real dinosaur history, flood evidence, where death & suffering started, American history? Speaking of Jericho, here is some amazing evidence confirming the miraculous destruction of it. - Archeology shows all the walls fallen except in one place (Rahab s house?). - The collapsed walls had fallen in such a way as to create ramps enabling the Israelites to run up and take the city. - Burning is evident throughout, fitting the Biblical account. - Jars full of charred grain were found fitting the Biblical account of being harvest time. It is also very unusual for the grain to not be taken by the victors, but fits perfectly with the instructions to take only the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron. 5 Supreme Law and Its Legitimate Children Declaration of Independence (DoI) and the USA Constitution Part 2 By Ron Cooper T he USA Constitution is a continuation of the DoI (the preamble), not a separate document, a new chapter. Terms like enumerated, separation of powers, limited government, distributed power, and states rights are the original working plan. Returning to this original is like getting back to the basics in a football game. This is our Constitution. It is the Supreme Law of the land. It trumps treaties made after it; it trumps Congress; it trumps the Supreme Court; it trumps international law; it is the supreme law of the land! It cannot be changed without amendment; all court cases apply ONLY to the individual cases and cannot create law or redefine Constitutional law. It is well defined; just look at Webster s 1828 dictionary. If our law makers can t read; if they are uneducated or undereducated; if they ignore it; then it is the responsibility of the citizens to vote them out of office. Each of our representatives has taken an oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, not the political party, not the President, not the judges. They are elected people sworn to protect the people. When they are outside of this Supreme Law of the land, they are outlaws! It is our jobs to know that and hold them accountable on Earth or God will give us over to them. We either depend on the God who Created us or we create the god called government to depend upon. We don t need more court cases against abortion. The DoI already tells us the purpose of government is to protect Life, Liberty, and Property. Government cannot give us rights. If they can, they can take them away. Our rights are permanent and enshrined in our declaration of Independence (DoI) and the limited, separated, and enumerated powers listed in PAGE 5 the Constitution! We need to teach ourselves and our representatives the original meanings defined in our founding documents. It is MORE important we elect moral representatives who will keep their oath of office, than worrying who the justices are or even the President. The Congress, if moral and religious (keep their oaths as George Washington warned us), can stop and reverse the political course of socialism in the USA. Not easy! The fight is being carried on against the Constitution. It must be destroyed for the under lying enemies to win. The first rule is to keep the people ignorant. The second is to make all the parties operate under a communist system (no real difference in the parties, or destroy the other parties effectiveness). Below is the way to see where we are. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose. 2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax. 3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance. 4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels. 5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly. 6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State. 7. Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan. 8. Equal liability of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for agriculture. 9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the population over the country. 10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc.

6 PAGE 6 Kids Korner Having a Biblical Worldview! There are three simple questions to test and see if you have a Biblical Worldview. First, understand that a worldview is how you unconsciously (normal viewpoint without thinking further) respond or interpret statements, attitudes, teachers, leaders, news, or even sermons. For example, news account reports about prehistoric discovery of new civilization doing farming in remote areas of South America. How would you interpret prehistoric? Is prehistoric: 1. Millions of years ago, before writing; 2. Ancient culture unlike any we know about; 3. Dumb cave dwellers hiding in the hills; 4. Things that happened before we knew what happened; 5. A meaningless term that people assign there own meaning to, each different? Your answer indicates how you think about history. Biblical history is what reliable witnesses experienced in their lives and wrote down for us to understand. Remember that God is a reliable witness and has written and communicated history to us (and things to come prophecy). With this as a background, think about the following three questions Approximately how old is the Earth? 2. G i v e n the age of the Earth, how much older is the Universe? 3. Did dinosaurs ever live with men? If so, when and where first? Check out the web page for answers. Are You Smarter than a Politician? OR Are Politicians Smarter than a Fifth Grader? The popular TV program, Are you smarter Than a Fifth Grader, really points out what we didn t learn or have forgotten from grade school. The graphic above points out the simple problem of taxes. If taxes consume or destroy ourselves (a nation, state, or small government), are our elected political bodies being smart? Government is established to protect life, liberty, and property (LLP). When government does not protect LLP, but allows or promotes its destruction, it will destroy itself and the country it is sworn to protect. Civics is knowing more than dates, but the reasons and how to protect good and punish bad!
