Introduction The Disciples Prayer Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Your Name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in Heaven, Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us, And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil For Yours is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory For ever and ever. Amen The LORD's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13) is really the prayer He gave for His disciples to pray, as His prayer to the Father is seen in John 17, the Great High Priestly Prayer. What we call the LORD's Prayer is for us to pray. It is a model of how to pray. The disciples had been with Jesus for 3 years, witnessing Him all the time and especially His relationship with His Father in heaven. However, they did not ask Him how He did all the miracles He did for they realised everything came out of that very special relationship He had with God. So they asked of Him, teach us how to pray. In answer to this He gave the LORD s Prayer as a template. Perhaps all believers should ask Him this important question. To understand the LORD's Prayer fully we have to put it into its Hebraic context, for Jesus was Jewish and so were His followers. The Bible was 3

written mostly by Jews in a Jewish context; Jesus entered into an on-going plan of God. Jesus did not enter into a vacuum, but into a people God had chosen to represent Him to the world, a people with a Hebrew mindset and understanding. Most Jewish prayers are written, but they are meant to be said with passion; the person praying setting their heart toward God. The LORD should be held in honour and with great reverence as the person saying prayers focuses on Him. Jewish prayers are far more centred on who He is, rather than need. Meditating on the Lord s goodness is a big part of this process. The structure of the Lord s Prayer would have been very familiar to a Jewish mindset and the culture in the days of Jesus. The Amidah prayer is a main way of praying in Judaism, and is similar to the outline of the LORD s Prayer. It consists of 18 blessings, the 19 th being a blessing of peace. We have been grafted into Israel, and now all the promises of God are amen in Christ Jesus, and we can lay hold of His promises in the Old as well as the New Testament. As you can see, it is very powerful and you might like to use it in your prayer time; you may wish to adapt it for a Christian perspective, but it clearly lies parallel to the context of the LORD s Prayer. The opening prayer is to set our minds on the Divine Presence O LORD, open my lips, and my mouth shall show forth Your praise. For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it. You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart these, O God, You will not refuse (Psalm 51:15-17). 4

The Amidah Prayer Blessing 1 The Fathers Patriarchs Blessed are You, O LORD our God and the God of our forefathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob: the great, mighty and awesome God, the supreme God. Who bestows bountiful kindness and creates everything. Who recalls the piety of the Patriarchs and brings a Redeemer to their children s children, for His Name s sake, with love. O King, Helper, Saviour and Shield. Blessed are you, O LORD our God, Shield of Abraham. Blessing 2 God s Power and Might You are eternally mighty, my LORD, the Resuscitator of the dead are You, abundantly able to save. You make the wind blow and You make the rain descend. Blessed are You, O LORD our God who restores life. Blessing 3 God s Holiness You are Holy and Your Name is Holy, and holy ones praise You daily for all eternity. Blessed are You, O LORD, the holy God. Blessing 4 Knowledge Understanding Wisdom You graciously bestow knowledge upon man and teach mortals understanding. Blessing 12 Destruction of God s Enemies May the heretics and wicked perish, and all the enemies of Your people be removed, and may You swiftly uproot, break, crush and subdue the reign of wickedness speedily in our days. Blessed are You LORD, who crushes enemies and subdues the wicked. As Christians we may wish to pray this instead: We know we do not battle against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms and all demonic forces, therefore LORD confound and thwart the plans of the evil one and destroy his influence on the people of the earth that You have created. Blessing 13 Prayer for the Righteous On the righteous, on the devout, on the elders of Your people the Family of Israel, on the remnant of their scholars, on the righteous converts and on ourselves may Your compassion be aroused, LORD, our God and give goodly reward to all who sincerely believe in Your Name. We give You thanks and praise for our lives, which are committed into Your hand, and for our souls 8

that are entrusted to You, for Your miracles that are with us every day: and for Your wonders and favours in every season evening, morning and afternoon. The Beneficent One, for Your mercies never cease, the Compassionate One, for Your kindness never ends and always we put our hope in You. For all these, may Your Name be blessed and exalted our King, continually forever and ever. Everything alive will gratefully acknowledge You, and praise Your Name sincerely, O God of our salvation and help. Blessed are You, LORD, Your Name is the Beneficent One and to You it is fitting to give thanks. Blessing 19 Peace Establish peace, goodness, blessing, graciousness, kindness and compassion upon us and upon all Your people Israel. Bless us, our Father, all of us as one, with the light of Your countenance for with the light of Your countenance You gave us, LORD our God, the Word of life and a love of kindness, righteousness, blessing, compassion, life and peace. And may it be good in Your eyes to bless Your people Israel, in every season and in every hour with Your peace. Blessed are You, LORD, who blesses His people Israel with peace. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. In the Amidah Prayer (Blessing 1) God is known as Helper, Saviour and Shield. This surely is what we understand as the Trinity: God the Father our Shield, God the Son Jesus our Saviour and God the Holy Spirit our Helper. 9

The Disciples Prayer Our Father who is in Heaven In Judaism God is called Our Father, Our King, and Father of the Nation. There was much more understanding of the one-ness of God's people, for example in order to read the Torah or pray publicly they need a minyan which is ten or more people, so the plural "our" would be usual practice. Jesus very much personalised His relationship and referred to Him as MY Father (Matthew 7:21, 10:32/33, 11:27, John 5:17, 6:32 etc) but in relating to His disciples He used your Father as in Matthew 5:48, Luke 11:13. In Deuteronomy 1:30-31 the LORD says to Israel, The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as He did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the wilderness. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. These verses sum up the protective and Father heart of God to His people. Hallowed be Your Name God s Name is to be honoured and revered. In Exodus 20.7, which is the 3 rd commandment, it says You shall not misuse the Name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His Name. God revealed His Name to Moses as I AM known as the Tetragrammaton (YHWH). Only on the Day of Atonement could the High Priest use the Tetragrammaton, once he had come out of the Holy of Holies, after the LORD had accepted the blood sacrifice, then the High Priest would say this Name for God, and all people would reply His honourable Name is blessed and His Kingdom is forever and ever". The actual pronunciation of YHWH has been lost because there has been no temple for two thousand years. God is firstly Holy and God is revered as holy thousands of times in the Old Testament. The LORD says in Leviticus 22:32 "Do not profane My Holy Name, for I must be acknowledged as holy by the Israelites."He is firstly Holy and LORD of all, He is to be held in the upmost respect, for the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. This does not mean we are to be fearful, but in our closeness to God to know He is love, He is our Father, but we must remember He is also a Holy Awesome God. 10

Your Kingdom come Jesus came to herald in the Kingdom of God. The forerunner John the Baptist came to prepare people for this Kingdom. In fulfilment of Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling in the wilderness prepare the way for the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. John was that voice, calling people back to God because the Kingdom of God was coming in the form of Jesus. The King was bringing in His Kingdom. Every time a miracle happens it is the Kingdom of heaven breaking through into the earth. In scripture from a Hebraic perspective it is more accurate to see things as continuous, for example May You continue establishing Your Kingdom would be a more appropriate way of praying. Jesus came with the Kingdom but it is outside of time, so it came with Jesus and is still coming, but the fullness will only be when He comes again. His Kingdom is perfect, the way it was always meant to be from the beginning. In Matthew s Gospel he frequently uses the term the Kingdom of Heaven, whereas in Mark and Luke they use the expression Kingdom of God, but they are the same. Jesus came to give us this Kingdom and He said that the Kingdom is near, it is not over here or there but within you, now by His Spirit living in us. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven God always knows what is best for us, and His plan is to do us good, to give us a hope and a future. That sometimes differs from what we might feel we want. God wants to bring His supernatural world into the natural. If earth reflected heaven it would be very different as sin would no longer reign but the rule of our gracious loving God would triumph. As believers, the more we align ourselves to God s ways, and His Kingdom purposes we can release His ways on the face of the earth. When revivals and moves of God break out it is heaven touching earth. Seeking His will is discerning God s will for us individually, but also the corporate purposes of God, and seeing that released in the physical world. God is good and all that He desires is for our benefit. 11

Give us this day our daily bread The LORD is our provider and He is able to provide for us. It is no coincidence that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, as the word lechem means bread and Bet means house so He came into this world in Bethlehem, the House of Bread. The word lechem was also representative of all food, as bread is seen as the basic requirement for life and sustenance. God provided for the Israelites in the desert by providing manna every day for them to eat. God only gave them what they needed for each day; as Jesus said in Matthew do not be anxious about tomorrow, the LORD knows what you need today. Paul writes in Philippians 4:19, And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus. Jesus declared I AM the bread of Life in John 6.35,48 and of course at the Last Supper He took the bread and said that it was His body, and ever since believers take the bread and wine as our Holy Communion with Him. The bread Jesus took just before His Crucifixion was the unleavened bread used as Passover and in the Temple (as leaven represented sin, the bread used on these occasions had to be free of leaven). Unleavened bread is pierced and striped and Jesus related this to His body. In Isaiah 53:5 we read But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed. Peter confirmed this in 1 Peter 2:24. When we take hold and eat of this bread, at Communion, we take hold of Christ and all He achieved for us at Calvary. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us Unforgiveness can be a stumbling block for us and stops us from receiving from God. When others hurt us, the pain we experience can be devastating and all consuming. These wounds become deeper and deeper unless we deal with them. I have found in times of ministry the way forward is to encourage the ones who have been hurt and are finding it difficult to forgive, to give the person who has caused the hurt into Jesus hands. It really helps to picture yourself doing this and once that person is given over to the LORD the process of healing can begin. Jesus talks about this in Matthew 18:21 onwards; when He explains about how many times we need to forgive, and went on to tell a parable about the unforgiving servant. In 12

Jewish writings in the Mishnah it says, be reconciled to your brother before approaching God, which Jesus confirms in Matthew 5:23-24; Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil In the book of Hebrews it says Jesus was tempted in every way but was without sin, For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are yet He did not sin (Hebrews 4:15). God may test us as He tested Abraham, and Peter talks about this in his epistle, but He tests us to prove the genuineness of our faith which is more valuable than gold (1 Peter 1:7). To be tempted is not a sin, it is what we do with that temptation. However we do have a responsibility not to put ourselves purposely in the way of temptation as David did with Bathsheba. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear (1 Corinthians 10.13). We may feel weak but He is strong and we stand in His strength, Finally be strong in the LORD and in His mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil s schemes (Ephesians 6:10-11). Yours is the Kingdom David praised the LORD saying; "Praise be to You, LORD, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendour, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, O LORD is the kingdom; You are exalted as head over all" (1 Chronicles 29:10-11). The Kingdom of God is everlasting and can never be destroyed. This Kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. When our King Jesus returns He will set up His Kingdom here on earth as He always intended it to be. Daniel 2:44 reads, In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another 13

people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. The power and the glory The supreme headquarters of everything created and not created is in heaven. Upon this Throne sits the ultimate power, for He is the all powerful, omniscient God. His glory is the Shekinnah presence of God. The heavens declare His amazing glory and the skies proclaim His handiwork. When the Glory filled the Tabernacle and later the Temple, the priests and people fell on their faces before Him. As others throughout scripture have done, when His beloved John the disciple saw Jesus as He really is, He fell down as if dead. When we ask Jesus into our lives, He then becomes the hope of glory with us, Christ in you, the hope of Glory (Colossians 1:27). For ever and ever. Amen Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, a sceptre of justice will be the sceptre of Your Kingdom (Psalm 45:6). His eternal city will be filled with His light and His glory, and His dominion will endure forever and ever, and His Word will never pass away. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the Throne saying, Look! God s dwelling place is now among the people and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away (Revelation 21:1-4). Amen: this word is the same in nearly all languages, it means 'let it be so'. This I affirm, 'I tell you the truth' and 'I most certainly agree'. 14

How to use this booklet: I have taken the LORD s Prayer and divided it into 10 different sections, each section to be prayed on 10 consecutive days. We first bless and thank the LORD for His goodness. The declarations, prayers and blessings are sometimes focused on ourselves, sometimes the body of Christ and sometimes the Nation. The pattern used in this booklet is taken from the precedent of the High Priest on the Day of Atonement, who would go into the Presence of the LORD and minister to Him, and then come out and bless the people. DAY ONE Our Father who art in Heaven Bless and thank the LORD Bless you Sovereign LORD, for Your dominion is an everlasting dominion, and Your Kingdom endures from generation to generation. Be praised and glorified and honoured highly exalted One, for You created all things and by Your will they have their being. Thank you LORD, O mighty King, that You have chosen me, and adopted me as Your child, and that You have drawn me to yourself with Your loving kindness. I bless You that I have been totally accepted by You, and for the love you lavish on me and those who are Your children. I bless You for your goodness and your kindness, O merciful One. I bless You that You are my Protector and Shield, a strong tower into which to run. Thank You LORD, that I and those who know you have a perfect Father who loves us unconditionally. 15

Scripture Proclamation See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! ( 1 John 3.1). For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry Abba Father. The Spirit testifies with our spirit that we are God s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:14-17) Declaration I declare that God is the Father of compassion and all comfort. I declare when we know God as Father we become His children and receive the Spirit of adoption. I declare that by that Spirit we can call Him Abba Father. I declare that His love is so great it reaches to the heavens; His faithfulness reaches to the skies. I declare the love of God is given freely, that it is so wide, so long, so deep and so high. Prayer Father God, I pray that the eyes of the unbelievers in this Nation will be opened and that they will know there is a God of heaven who longs to be their Father. I pray that no longer will they be deceived by the lies of the enemy. I pray that they will allow the Healer, the LORD, to minister to them, to heal those wounds and lies that have dominated their lives for so long. I pray that everything that rises up against the knowledge of God will be pulled down. I pray that God will send the Spirit of His Son into their hearts. Blessing In the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit I bless the people of this Nation to receive Father God. I bless them to know they have a Father whose love for them is totally unconditional. I bless them to open their 16

hearts to that love. I bless them with the Spirit of revelation to come upon them, so they can understand that God is good, and He is a good Father who longs to give good gifts to those who turn to Him. DAY TWO Hallowed be Your Name Bless and thank the LORD Blessed are You, Awesome God, far above all things. I honour You, and lift up Your Name over every other god, over every principality, power and dominion. I bless You and thank You for the spiritual realm where You dwell. I thank You for the entire angelic host that surrounds Your Throne forever praising You. I bless your Name to be exalted in all the earth, may You always be glorified. For who is like You majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Scripture Proclamation: Love the LORD your God with all your heart and will all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength (Mark 12.30). Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His Name; worship the LORD in the splendour of his holiness (Psalm 29:22). Declaration I declare there shall be no other gods before our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ. I declare that our God rules and reigns, and He is King forever. I declare great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. I declare that our God does marvellous deeds. I declare that our God alone is Holy and 17

righteous, great are His works, how profound His thoughts which are so much higher and greater than ours. Prayer I pray that the people of this Nation will honour the Name of God. I pray that the One and Only true God will be exalted over this Nation. I call this Nation back to its Judeo/Christian roots. I pray that no longer will the Name of God be taken in vain, but respected, honoured and glorified. I pray for a reverent fear of the Lord to be poured out over the peoples of this land. I pray that at the Name of Jesus knees will bow, and tongues will confess He is LORD. Bless I bless the people of this Nation to know the True and One and Only God. I bless their hearts to be open to Him, to revere Him. I bless their mouths to bring forth praise. I bless this Nation to be filled with a holy fear of the LORD. DAY THREE Your Kingdom Come Bless and thank the Lord Blessed are You, O Lord our God who reigns in Heaven above all other Kingdoms. I bless you King of kings and LORD of lords. I bless and thank You Jesus that You came to bring the Kingdom of heaven to earth, that everywhere You went You released that Kingdom, calling us to repent and believe for the Kingdom of God is near. Thank You we can take hold of this Kingdom now, and that through the sacrifice of Jesus the way is now 18

open to the things of heaven. Thank You Jesus for releasing the Kingdom of God. Scripture Proclamation The Kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our LORD and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever (Revelation 11.15). For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David s throne and over his Kingdom establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever (Isaiah 9:6-7). Declaration I declare that Jesus is King above all other kings, and that He came to establish the Kingdom of God on the face of the earth. I declare that the Kingdom of heaven is near, and our Gospel is the good news of this Kingdom. I declare that this Kingdom will never end and can never be shaken. Prayer I pray that the Kingdom of heaven will break out on the face of the earth like never before. I pray that the spiritual atmosphere will change over our nation and that God will establish His righteousness and His justice. I pray that believers will rise up in this day and contend for our Nation to see an open heaven, to see a move of God, to see people turning back to Him. Blessing I bless the people of this Nation to come out of the Kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of God s wonderful light. I bless them to have their eyes opened to the Truth. I bless them to have ears to hear the Word of 19

God, and for that Word to become life to them. I bless them to see there is a better Kingdom, a Kingdom that has no end, a Kingdom where there is such hope for them. DAY FOUR Your Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven Bless and thank the LORD Bless you O LORD our God, that you love the earth, that it belongs to You, and the fullness thereof. Thank You Jesus for showing us the will of the Father, and for bringing alignment with heaven. Thank You LORD when we choose to listen to You we will hear you say, This is the way, walk in it. Bless You for Your wonderful Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth who guides us into all truth, and reveals to us the will of God. Bless You LORD for Your great love for the people You have made, that Your hand is always upon us, and You never slumber or sleep but always watch over us. Scripture Proclamation Show me Your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in You all day long (Psalm 25:4). Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God s will is His good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2). But seek His Kingdom and these things will be given to you as well (Luke 12:31). 20

Declaration I declare that you are all fairness, all holiness, all goodness and Your ways are perfect. I declare that Your plans are good, plans always to give us a hope and a future. I declare that Jesus is the Way, the only Way and His Way is the one of truth that brings life. I declare that You release to Your people every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in order for them to fulfil the high calling on each of our lives. Prayer I pray that Your will O LORD will take pre-eminence in our Nation, and that our laws and courts of justice will reflect what You have ordained in heaven. I pray that our Government and the people of this Nation know the will of God and uphold what is permissible in Your sight. I pray that every ungodly law will be unravelled and disbanded and that Judeo-Christian principles will be upheld. Blessing I bless the people of this Nation to know that true freedom comes from following in God s ways, and knowing His will for us. I bless them to have revelation that God works for good for those who know Him, and that He will never harm us but longs for the best for us. I bless this Nation to align with the will of God Almighty. DAY FIVE Give us this day our daily bread Bless and thank the LORD Bless you, King of heaven that You are Jehovah Jireh, our provider. Thank you LORD that You are our all sufficient One. I bless You for Your 21

generosity and kindness. I bless You that when we put our trust in You, You supply our needs. I bless You that You are the LORD who fed and sustained His people in the desert for 40 years; always receiving manna from heaven and water from the Rock which is Christ. Scripture Proclamation How much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him (Matthew 7:11). And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Declaration I declare that God is more than able to provide for me when I trust in Him. I declare that in His Kingdom there is always enough. I declare that the LORD is bigger than my need, and He is my shepherd and I will not be in want. I declare that the LORD is sufficient for me. Prayer I pray that all the people of this Nation will have their daily bread. I pray that none will go hungry, and without the basics of life. I pray for generous acts of giving to be released in this Nation, to help those who are in need. I pray that help will always be there for those who are desperate. Blessing I bless the people in this country to know wholeness and well-being. I bless them to have their needs met, and for others to help when they can. I bless the Nation with a spirit of generosity to be poured out in line with the nature of God. I bless the people of this Nation who care for and support others. I bless every agency and those who work tirelessly to help others. I bless their finances and workers and for all their needs to be met. 22

DAY SIX Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us Bless and thank the LORD Blessed are You merciful God, who always longs to pour out His forgiveness, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Bless You LORD for Your unfailing love and mercy. Thank You Heavenly Father, that when we draw near to You, the first thing we receive is mercy, and then grace to help us in times of need. Thank You Jesus for taking away all our iniquities. Scripture Proclamation Come now, let us settle the matter, says the LORD, though your sins are like scarlet they shall be as white as snow (Isaiah 1:18). Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29). But He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him and by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:8-9). Declaration I declare that the Lord forgives all who truly repent. I declare that God is merciful to us, forgiving us although we do not deserve it. I declare that Jesus has done all He needed to do, in order for us to appropriate that forgiveness. I declare because of the shed blood of Jesus we can be cleansed of all our unrighteousness and wrong doing. 23

Prayer I pray that You help us all LORD to forgive others and not to hold to resentments and the pain we feel when others hurt us. I pray that the body of Christ will be able to bring those who have hurt us to You, and to release them into Your loving arms. I pray that the body of Christ will have the strength in the power of Your Holy Spirit to do that, to forgive others so that we can ourselves be forgiven. I pray that we will all get a deeper revelation of the power of forgiving those who have wounded us, and the freedom that brings. Blessing I bless believers to be released from offence and the wounds others have caused. I bless the church with healing to be released over all the living stones, that from this day forth people will go free. I bless the people of this nation to learn to forgive, and to allow resentments to go. For the root of bitterness to be pulled out, and every spirit of anger to dissipate and I bless them with the healing oil of forgiveness. DAY SEVEN Lead us Not into Temptation, but deliver us from evil Bless and thank the LORD Blessed are You, O wonderful LORD who leads us in paths of righteousness. I bless You my Father that You will never leave me or forsake me, and are with me always. I bless You LORD for always wanting the very best for me. I bless that You have overcome all the powers of darkness, and thank You Jesus that You have overcome. Bless You Jesus that the darkness can never put out the glorious light that You bring. 24

Scripture Proclamation That power is the same as the mighty strength He exerted when He raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every name that is invoked not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet (Ephesians 1:19-22). To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our Saviour be glory, majesty, power and authority through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore. Amen (Jude 1:24-25). Declaration I declare that God is more than able to keep me from falling, and He will be my shield and my very great reward. He is the strong tower into which I shall run, and I trust Him to protect me from the schemes of the evil one. I will abide in the shadow of His wings under His protection, and He will be my refuge. Prayer I pray that you will keep me safe from the fowler s snare and that the body of Christ will know that the angels of the LORD are around us, sent from the Throne of God to keep us from harm. I pray that we Your people will not succumb to temptation and be led astray into things of the world that are evil. I pray that we, the body of Christ, will shut the door to the occult and all the works of the enemy. Blessing I bless the body of Christ to be strong in the Lord, to know when we are weak it is His strength we can draw on. I bless the body of Christ to seek after righteousness and to allow the Spirit of God to cleanse us and renew us. I bless believers to live a set apart life, in the world but not of it. I bless the people in this Nation to turn from their wicked ways, not to seek after 25

evil and the powers of darkness but to have an understanding of the beauty of wholesome and pure ways. DAY EIGHT For Yours is the Kingdom Bless and thank the LORD Blessed are You, O LORD our God, for Yours is the Kingdom, and this Kingdom will have no end. Thank you LORD that all other kingdoms are under Your feet, that the earth is the LORD s and will be full of the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea. Bless You LORD. Thank You LORD that Your Kingdom cannot be shaken. Scripture Proclamation The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our LORD and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever (Revelation 11:15). The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:15-17). Declaration I declare that the Kingdom of God has come, is coming and will come to earth, that the LORD will establish His Kingdom here, as it should always have been, and that the fullness of that Kingdom will be established on the face of the earth. I declare that Jesus has won back the right to rule and reign, that He came with the Kingdom and it will be fully restored. 26

Prayer I pray that the Kingdom of God will break out on every street, every village, every town and every city in our Nation. I pray that the advancement of this Kingdom will know no bounds. I pray that millions of lost souls will fall into the Kingdom of God, and that the light of this Kingdom will shine so brightly that all will be drawn to His glorious light. Blessing I bless the people of this Nation to be born again into this wonderful Kingdom of God, and to know the King of kings and the LORD of lords. I bless them with spiritual insight and revelation of who Jesus is and what He has accomplished for them. I bless them to understand that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. I bless them to enter the Kingdom of God. DAY NINE The Power and the Glory Bless and thank the LORD I bless You Sovereign Lord, that all power and authority is in Your hands. I bless You King of Glory to be glorified amongst Your people. I bless You almighty and all-powerful God that You shall reign forever and ever. I thank You LORD for who You are, the great I AM, the One who was, is and will always be. Scripture Proclamation Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honour and glory and praise (Revelation 5:12). Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honour and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever (Revelation 7.12). 27

Splendour and majesty are before Him; strength and glory are in His sanctuary (Psalm 96:6). Declaration I declare that the Son of Man will come again in great glory. I declare only the LORD our God deserves the glory. I declare that the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Prayer I pray that the power and the glory of God will be seen by all. I pray that the One true God will come and visit us in power and majesty. I pray that all will revere Your glory and that as You are exalted over all the nations Your glory will be revealed. I pray many will give glory to God in the highest and receive His peace on the face of the earth. Blessing I bless this Nation to open the gates that the King of Glory may come in. I bless the people to see the Lamb of God risen and highly exalted in Glory. I bless the believers to accept His wall of fire around us, and that He is the glory within. I bless all who love Him to have a fresh revelation of Christ in us, the hope of glory. DAY TEN For ever and ever Bless and thank the LORD I bless You, O LORD our God, Sovereign of the World that You rule and You reign forever and ever, world without end. I bless You LORD our God, for You are from everlasting to everlasting. You are always the great I 28

AM without beginning or end. You always are and will be. I bless You LORD that you are the eternal One, and Your Word will stand for ever. Scripture Proclamation I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness (Jeremiah 31:3). In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His Presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshipped Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His Kingdom is one that will never be destroyed (Daniel 7:13-14). Declaration I declare that God alone is eternally righteous and He is the One we can trust in forever, for He is the Rock that cannot be shaken. I declare His Kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and his dominion endures throughout all generations. I declare that eternal life is found in Him, and all who believe in Jesus will partake of it. Prayer I pray that many will take hold of the Tree of Life that we can now have access to through Jesus our Saviour and LORD. I pray that there will be a move of God in this Nation so that the blindness will fall off eyes, and many will see and know that Jesus is the Way to the Father, and that through Him they can receive salvation and be partakers of the divine nature, through the wonderful Holy Spirit of God. Blessing I bless the people of this Nation to turn back to the LORD God, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I bless 29

them to receive the free gift of salvation that He offers all who turn to Him. I bless them to receive that eternal destiny which is life forever more. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen (1Timothy 1:17). lory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. Amen Psalm 24 The earth is the Lord s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Saviour. Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face, God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is He, this King of Glory? The Lord Almighty He is the King of Glory. 30

Prayer based on the Disciples Prayer LORD, may the people of this Nation know You as Father. May they come into the knowledge and understanding that they have a Father in heaven who loves them, and has created them. LORD, may Your Name be glorified and revered. May the people in this Nation lift up the Name that is above all other Names and honour and respect Your Name. May You be worshipped and adored in this country. LORD, may Your Kingdom rule be evident in this Nation, may the Kingdom of heaven be established here. May Your will be done in each and every person s life. May the fullness of Your Kingdom authority be known and welcomed. May Your will be done in this Nation as it is in heaven. Provide this day, for the people who live in this country; for their needs to be met, that no one will go without food or shelter. May forgiveness flow between them, and help them to lay down vengeances and hatred. May the temptations of the evil one be eliminated from their lives, and may those who live here be delivered from the power of evil. May Your Kingdom, Power and Glory be welcomed in our Nation. In Jesus Name. In Jesus Name This means may Your Name and will be sanctified through this prayer and in my life. To pray in His Name relates to our life. Jesus said we were to pray in His Name, which is in His character and intent. It is not just to tag onto the end of our prayers but it is to stand before the Father in Christ Jesus, and to join with Him and His desires for us, to pray as He would pray, and to allow Him to reign in our lives, in us and through us. 31

Blessings for the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland * I bless You, King of the Universe, Sovereign of the World, to be exalted above all things, to be enthroned over our Nation, to be honoured, glorified, revered, worshipped and adored.
