3 AWAKE! BEHOLD THE SUPREMACY OF GOD S GLORIOUS SON [Let the readings begin] Psalm 24:7-8, 10b Lift up your heads, O you gates; be lifted up you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. Malachi 4:2 For you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. Ephesians 5:14 Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Romans 13:11, 14 The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, Because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed Clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ. 6 Theme 1 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS ETERNAL GLORY [Let the readings begin] Christ is the radiance of God s glory. In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word was God. The Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. We have seen His glory, The glory of the One and Only, Who came from the Father, Full of grace and truth. The Word was God. Hebrews 1:3 John 1:1-2, 14b Colossians 1:15, [women] He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. [men] He is the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead. [everyone] So that in everything He might have the supremacy. John 3:31a, 32a, 35 The one who comes from above is above all. The one who comes from heaven is above all. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands. Hebrews 1:8, 12 About the Son God says: Your Throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom You remain the same, and your years will never end. I Peter 1:20 He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Revelation 13:8 [We] belong to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. 6

7 Ephesians 1:9-10, 4-5 God has made known to us the mystery of His will, According to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, To be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment To bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 10 Theme 3 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS PROMISED GLORY [Let the readings being] Revelation 19:10 Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. Luke 24:44-47 And He said to them: This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, and the Prophets and the Psalms. Then He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them: This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations. Luke 24: 32 Were not our hearts burning within us while He talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us? Isaiah 9:2-3, 6-7 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; On those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. For to us a child is born, To us a son is given, And the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. To us a son is given. He will reign on David s throne and over His kingdom forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this. Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. 10

John 5: You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. So, we have the word of the prophets made more certain. 12 Theme 4 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS INCARNATE GLORY [Let the readings begin] John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Full of grace and truth. Luke 2:11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:30-32, 34-35a My eyes have seen your salvation which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel. This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many. The falling and rising of many in Israel, And to be a sign that will be spoken against, So that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. II Corinthians 8:9 You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, That though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, So that you through His poverty might become rich. Philippians 2:5-8 [Christ Jesus] being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. But made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man He humbled Himself and became obedient to death Even death on a cross. Hebrews 2:9 We see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor. Because He suffered death, So that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. 12

He was preached among the nations. God appeared in a body. He was believed on in the world. God appeared in a body. He was taken up into glory. God appeared in a body. I Timothy 3:16 Colossians 2:9-10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, In bodily form. And you have been given fullness in Christ. We have been given fullness in Christ. Fullness in Christ. We have been given fullness in Christ. 13

14 Theme 5 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS SERVANT GLORY [Let the readings begin] Philippians 2:7-8 He made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant. He humbled Himself. He humbled Himself, Taking the nature of a servant. Mark 10:45 For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. Matthew 12:15-21 Many followed Him, and He healed all their sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight. I will put my Spirit on Him, and He will proclaim justice to the nations. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break, a smoldering wick He will not snuff out, til He leads justice to victory. In His name the nations will put their hope. In His name the nations will put their hope. Acts 10:36, 38 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. You know how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power. You know how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, Because God was with Him. John 14:11 It is the Father, living in me, who is doing His work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. Mark 10:45 For the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many. John 6:51, 54 I am the bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. 14

15 Titus 2:14 Jesus Christ gave Himself for us. [Jesus Christ] gave Himself for us to redeem us. Jesus Christ gave Himself for us, To redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good. 16 Theme 6 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS SUFFERING GLORY [Let the readings begin] I Peter 1:18-21 You were redeemed... with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. Revelation 5:12 Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise. Colossians 1:19-20, 18c For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in [Christ]. And through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. So that in everything He might have the supremacy. So that in everything He might have the supremacy. I John 2:2 [Christ] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, And not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Isaiah 53 selections To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? Surely He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows. He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. And by His wounds we are healed. Each of us turned to his own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. It was the Lord s will to crush Him and cause Him to suffer. Though the Lord makes His life a guilt offering, He will see His offspring and prolong His days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in His hand. He will divide the spoils with the strong because He poured out His life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For He bore the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. 16

17 Romans 5: 8-10, 20b God demonstrated His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. So that just as sin reigned in death So also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Ephesians 5:23b, 25-27a Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. Christ is the head of the Church, His body, of which He is the Savior. Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her. [He did this in order] to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant Church. 18 Theme 7 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS RESURRECTION GLORY [Let the readings begin] Luke 24:5b-6a Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! Colossians 1:18b [Christ] is the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. I Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope. A living hope. A living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. John 11:25-26 I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; Do you believe this? Do you believe this? John 20:27-29 Then He said to Thomas: Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe. Thomas said to Him: My Lord and my God! Luke 24:5b-6a Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen! II Timothy 1:10b Christ Jesus... has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. Hebrews 7: 24b, 25 On the basis of the power of an indestructible life. He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him because He always lives to intercede for them. 18

19 Romans 14:8-9 If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason Christ died and returned to life, so that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. My Lord and my God. John 20:28 I Corinthians 15: 22, 42-43, 25, 56 For as in Adam all die, So in Christ all will be made alive. For He must reign until He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Hebrews 13:20-21 May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, Who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, That great shepherd of the sheep, Who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ, May He equip you with everything good for doing His will, And may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. 20 Theme 8 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS ASCENSION GLORY [Let the readings begin] Hebrews 1:3b After He had provided purification for sins, Christ sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Ephesians 1:19-23 The Father s incomparably great power... is like the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, in the present age or the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the Church, which is His body. I Peter 3:22 Christ has gone into heaven and is at God s right hand -with angels, authorities and powers in submission to Him. Ephesians 4:7-10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens in order to fill the whole universe. In order to fill the whole universe. 22 Theme 9 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS INCREASING GLORY [Let the readings begin] Isaiah 9:7 The increase of His government will have no end establishing and upholding His kingdom with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. Revelation 5: 9-10 You are worthy.because you were slain and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, And they will reign on the earth. Matthew 28:18-20 All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Acts 1:8 You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; And [we] will be [your] witnesses... to the ends of the earth. 24 Theme 10 JESUS: SUPREME IN HIS TRIUMPHANT GLORY [Let the readings begin] Acts 17:21 For [God] has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead. Acts 3:21 But [Christ] must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything as He promised long ago through His prophets. Isaiah 59: From the west, men will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun they will revere His glory. For He will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along. The Redeemer will come to Zion. Philippians 3:20-21 [For] our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body. I Thessalonians 4:14, For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. After that we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so shall we be with the Lord forever. And so shall we be with the Lord forever. I Corinthians 15: For He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. And the last enemy to be destroyed is death. Now when it says that everything has been put under Him, it is clear that this does not include God Himself, who put everything under Christ. So, when He has done this, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him who put everything under Him, so that God may be ALL in ALL. God will be ALL in ALL.
