The Jezebel spirit: greatest insult imaginable.

1 The Jezebel spirit: Much has been said about this spirit of Jezebel as that name is synonymous with evil and who will argue that? She is the epitome of the wicked woman. So infamous is her name that, to this day, no one names their baby daughter Jezebel and to call a woman a Jezebel is almost the greatest insult imaginable. However today, I wish to even out that teeter totter and discuss her husband Ahab and how men today have what I call the spirit of Ahab which should be as offensive as calling a woman Jezebel. If there is a Jezebel spirit in women there must also be an Ahab spirit in men. Now every man wants to be the king in his castle, so let s look at his life of

2 king Ahab and see his character and in so judge yourself to see if you have the charisma and personality of Ahab which is the reason one may have a Jezebel in the house. What is the spirit of Ahab? When Ahab married Jezebel, he became the first Israelite king in the Bible who allied himself to heathenism through marriage. Jezebel was a pagan princess and king Ahab should have married an Israelite as God commanded. Ahab disobeyed God and this is not the first time. So one can conclude that an Ahab spirit is a disobedient and rebellious man. The life of Ahab shows women principles to avoid as his life is a prime example of what a man should not be, unless of course you have a Jezebel spirit. Ahab considered the things of God as being trivial. The ultimate goal of the spirit of Ahab is the destruction of God ordained authority. Like a woman who does not submit to her husband, Ahab did not submit himself to God. This Ahab spirit is rebellious and defiant against authority. The spirit of Ahab symbolizes the giving up of authority for the sake of peace.

3 To keep peace in his castle Ahab allowed the worship of Baal and gave authority to his wife to serve her god. This Ahab spirit will often make truces instead of relationships in truth. As this Ahab spirit avoids confrontation and denies fault for the sake of peace. Someone with an Ahab spirit would rather make peace at any cost, even if it leads to making an unholy alliance. As this Ahab spirit will always sacrifice the future good for peace today. Weak and timid would be an understatement of this Ahab spirit as he is as rebellious to God as his wife his to him. Often times when I get involved in marriage issues, I hear how bad some wives are and often times I say the wife only reflects her husband. Wish to see the character of a man, look at the woman he chose to be his wife. THAT speaks volumes and case in point with king Ahab. This passive spirit that wishes to avoid confrontation, has no authority and is wishy-washy being unstable in all his ways and any women that sees this in a man they are courting should flee as destruction is coming with this leadership. He would not have the integrity and strength to handle daily problems of marriage, children, finances, working and maintaining a house. He might even turn over all his authority to anyone and be like Esau did to Jacob with his birthright. This Ahab spirit cannot be trusted, is carelessness and irresponsibility with his duty to God and his family as a man. BEWARE!!

4 Along the path, God will try several times to keep him on the straight and narrow but he may have a hatred towards truth and warning. With king Ahab God sent five important encounters with prophets to advise him. The first encounter is with Elijah, whom Ahab refers to as "the troubler of Israel" (1 Kings 18:17), in which Elijah predicts a drought (1 Kings 17:1). This encounter ends with Elijah victorious over the official Baal prophets of Israel in a contest held for the sake of the Israelites and their king, Ahab. The contest ends when Elijah's God consumes the offering which the Baal worshipers could not induce their god to touch, after which Elijah slaughters the Baal prophets (1 Kings 18:17 40). The second encounter is between Ahab and an unnamed prophet in 1 Kings 20:22. The third is again between Ahab and an unnamed prophet who condemns Ahab for his actions in a battle that had just taken place (1 Kings 20:34-43). The fourth is when Elijah confronts Ahab over Ahab's and Jezebel's execution of Naboth and usurpation of the latter's ancestral vineyard (1 Kings 21:1-16). Upon the prophet's remonstration ("Hast thou killed and also taken possession?" (1 Kings, 21:19)), Ahab displayed sincere remorse (1 Kings 21:27). The fifth encounter is with Micaiah, the prophet who, when asked for advice on a military campaign, first assures Ahab he will be successful and ultimately gives Ahab a glimpse into God's plan for Ahab to die in battle (1 Kings 22). So IF you are a women with a Jezebel spirit you need to find a man who hates to take godly counsel as this will make your ungodly marriage work. Ahab was ripe for someone like Jezebel. However she gets the blame most of the time but not today as today, I even out the teeter totter and blame

5 the king and the husband, with reason. In the same manner our country has become very liberal, with laws, removing God from schools and government. I do not blame no one but the Church, not politics nor the court system. In the same spirit, I blame the Ahab husband for having this Jezebel wife. In most cases the husband is the one at fault and the blame. Sorry guys, no group hug from Uncle Ruben today, we need to rid ourselves of this Ahab spirit once and for all. This Ahab spirit may believe in God, but it's just not worth the effort or time it takes to commit his life to the Lord. He will abdicate his Head position as priest of the family but it may be the wife who the one that carts the kids to church every Sunday. I believe this Ahab spirit will not read the Bible, pray with his family or even say the blessing at the table. He might hide in the bedroom when the church gang is at the house. He has a million excuses for not going to Church, from blaming the hypocrites in the church to his need for rest on Sunday. He may even encourage his wife to go to church, just so it gets her out of his hair and gives him more time for his own delights. Like watching sports on TV or porno on the computer. Whatever this modern day Ahab does, he does it begrudging and with minimal effort. From having a job, to working around the house, just the bare minimum is his reputation as nothing is never completed. Sound familiar, don t blame Jezebel, and fault Ahab. This new 'Babylonian' family:

6 Will have same characteristics as those of their parents (Ahab/Jezebel) and this is what they will produce in their modern day Adams family. Girls: Will be man-haters, aggressive personality, jealous, whores, disrespectful, interested in witchcraft, apt to be involved in sexual promiscuity to secure a man, lesbianism, anti-authority and a lifestyle of sin without conscience and like Jezebel a murderer (abortion). Boys:

7 Will become soft, self-centered, lazy, even a momma's boy, shy, antiauthority, non-judgmental, loves to hang around women rather than men, learn early to use women to get what they want, justify other gods and homosexuality. So IF there is a Jezebel spirit verily there is a Ahab spirit and in my opinion they both feed off each other.
