5 Delegate Information If elected, I hope to see the following program ideas implemented: A. Computer Cuddle Session There's nothing better than an Ein Gedi cuddle session to chase the blues away and make a smile stay all day! Unfortunately, we're spread across the South like peanut butter on bread! This can make seeing each other- and snuggling- especially hard. So, I propose that once a month we all cozy up with our computers for a Sub-regional Skype session. These sessions would last roughly an hour and would be a laid back way to see some friendly faces in between convention. To break the ice, we'd start off with some fabulously-fun mixers. Here, the "Average Joes" of Ein Gedi could get a chance to show off their above-average creativity and leadership skills, because as we all know, every good mixer needs an even better mixer leader! By the end of the hour, your face may hurt from smiling. B. Gedi-Got-Game Ok, ok...i'll admit it, our Chapters kick some serious booty when it comes to being awesome! So, why should the Swaggalicious Slinky Award be the only time gold stars are handed out for good work? Don't worry; I'm not proposing we get rid of one of the coolest and most coveted awards in the sub region-that would be pretty silly! Rather, I'm suggesting that the stellar chapters comprising Ein Gedi get a little recognition for all their hard work. So, twice a month, I'll select one chapter to highlight via the world- famous Facebook for recent accomplishments such as: gaining new members, writing a totally rad program, reaching a new milestone, or having a roof-raising amount of ruach. Also, even when your chapter is not chosen there are still superlatives, for you will have opportunity to learn from another s success and make your chapter even stronger! C. Gedi Gives In Israel, there is a place known as Kibbutz Ein Gedi. Much like our Ein Gedi, this Kibbutz is a lively community of innovative people working together. I m certain that if the 250 Kibbutzim worked together on a SATO project, something wonderful would happen. Guess what Ein Gedi? If we work together on a SATO project, something even more spectacular could happen! That's why I'm proposing Gedi Gives. We create a collective list of issues that everyone cares about and then choose a cause to support. Later in the year we spend a day together pursuing the change we wish to see! Of course, making a positive impact on the world is fun, too! For instance, we could spend the morning baking Hamentashen, putting together Mishlach manot, and delivering them to the elderly and needy. Following that awesome Mitzvah, the evening will be spent in a crazy fun Purim Pow-Wow! We could also have a Special Color Run. Here, the beautiful mitzvah of the Special Olympics could meet the crazy fun new trend of color runs. Not only would the disabled peoples finish with a smile on their faces, but with Ein Gedi pushing them, they're sure to finish with flying colors. Abby LeRoy Page 5 of 6

6 Personal Statement "Short people maintain a positive perspective on life because we're always looking up." - Anonymous Towering over no-one other than my 4 year old cousin, Hailee Grey, and Avi Lyons, this quote really resonates with me. At the not so striking height of 5 1, I am always looking up ready with a smile and almost always with a funny story to share. So, what makes me smile you ask? There are many things that make me smile of course, but here are just a few things which are guaranteed to cause a smile to spread across my face; sketch comedy Ben and Jerry s Cinnamon Bun ice cream, Tina Fey s Bossy Pants, and stormy weather. Smiling is considered a physical expression of one s inner feelings. While I am a big fan of the smile, there are a few things in life for which a smile just isn t enough. My love for USY and Ein Gedi is one such thing. In fact, my love for Ein Gedi is so deep that it encompasses much of what I do. This is evident as; all of the kids I babysit for, can chant the Ein Gedi sub regional cheer, my youngest brother knows almost all the chapters in our beloved Ein Gedi and only wants to participate in USY events, if anyone was to audit my online activity they would find page after page after page after page of postings in my smorgasbord of USY related Facebook groups. Most mornings, I can be found drinking tea out of my own personally designed Ein Gedi mug, which I made earlier this year and carved the words Ein Gedi inside. My room is also a reflection of my unbreakable bond with EinGeidi, every surface has some Ein Gedi Gear on it, t-shirts adorn the shelves, there s a blanket on the foot on bed, a towel hangs in the bathroom, water bottles, and cups rest on my bed side table and desk, photos and other memorabilia are on my dresser, bulletin board and elsewhere. It is this love, passion, and enthusiasm that has motivated me to run for Vice President. I truly believe that no one is more unstoppable than someone working for something they truly love and are passionate about. Home is where the heart is and my heart rests firmly in Ein Gedi.
