2 Sun setting beyond Prayer Mountain - Biblical Tamar Park Special Sabbath Broadcast from the Wilderness This past Sabbath, our volunteer team live streamed from Biblical Tamar Park in the wilderness. At our regular service time, we went live and took our audience on a tour of this fascinating place. Blossoming Rose has a vision to present seven periods of time at the park (Abrahamic / Patriarchal BCE to 1300 BCE, Mosaic BCE to 1000 BCE, Israelite BCE to 600 BCE, Roman / Christian BCE to 600 CE, Islamic CE to 1900 CE, British Mandate to 1948, Israeli to present). We begin the video in the Bedouin tent, representative of the Abrahamic period and then proceed through the park for a walking tour. We took our viewers around the archaeological site, describing the ongoing work here to uncover the rich history of this place. The video also features a short hike through the wilderness and up Prayer Mountain, allowing viewers to climb with our group to the top to watch the amazing sunset. 3 The British Building located at Biblical Tamar Park - Before and After Projects at Biblical Tamar Several friends of United Israel World Union volunteered to join Ross Nichols in the wilderness. Ross' youngest son Tobias, Chuck Dobbs, Piper Kelly, Alex Grigoriyevich, David Conley, and James Halpert volunteered their time and talents to clean, maintain and beautify Biblical Tamar Park. So far the team has accomplished a great deal. We spent the first several days working in the orchards. The team trimmed the date palm trees, bagged the clusters of dates, and raked the ground, making these fruitful orchards beautiful. We also worked on the Abraham tent to secure the goat hair walls. The team also worked on the British building. Over the next couple of weeks the volunteers will work on various projects at the park. Here are some photos from our work thus far.

5 The Four-Room Israelite house - before and after. Part of the responsibility of Blossoming Rose is to maintain the archaeology site. Our team cleaned the grass out of the four-room house, which is dated to the 7th Century BCE.

They affixed the goat hair tent to a securing board and then installed a "pinch board" to hold it in place. Great job by these young men. After they completed their work, I had them pose for a photo.

8 Dr. Tabor Meets Volunteers Our Biblical Tamar Park volunteer team was privileged to have some time in Jerusalem on Sunday with Dr. James Tabor before he returned to the States the following day. He met us in the Jewish Quarter and led us on an exciting and informative walk around Jerusalem. We went to the Wohl Museum, walked to Mount Zion, crossed the Hinnom Valley, and then visited Bible Hill. Everyone enjoyed learning from our friend and teacher.

11 From the Torah The Torah reading this week, for those who follow the annual cycle of readings is Mattote - Masei (Numbers 30:2-36:13). The associated Prophet reading is found in Jeremiah 2:4-28; 3:4. "Remember the Torah of my servant Moses, the statutes and judgments that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel" (Malachi 4:4 English / Malachi 3:22 Hebrew).
