THE HEART - PART 9 THE INNER DIMENSIONS OF SALAH IBNUL QAYYIM

OH SON OF ADAM, I CREATED YOU TO WORSHIP ME, SO DO NOT INDULGE IN IDLE PURSUITS, I GUARANTEED YOUR PROVISION IN THIS LIFE SO DO NOT TIRE YOURSELF (SEEKING IT). OH SON OF ADAM, WHENEVER YOU SEEK ME YOU SHALL FIND ME. AND WHENEVER YOU FIND ME, YOU SHALL FIND EVERYTHING. WHOEVER LOSES ME, LOSES EVERYTHING VERILY, I OUGHT TO BE THE MOST BELOVED ONE TO YOUR HEART HADITH QUDSI

SALAH IS DESIGNED TO ENTER THE BELIEVERS INTO THE RANKS OF THE: MUHIBBIN MUWAHHIDIN AABIDIN KHASHI IN SADIQIN IBNUL QAYYIM ZIYAADD.COM

اهلل تعال MUHIBBIN - THOSE WHO LOVE MUWAHHIDIN - THOSE WHO BELIEVE STRICTLY IN ALLAH ONLY AABIDIN - THOSE WHO WORSHIP ALLAH KHASHI IN - THOSE WHO HAVE A DEEP RESPECT FOR ALLAH SADIQIN - THOSE TRUTHFUL IN THEIR COVENANT WITH ALLAH SAALIKIN - THOSE WHO PREPARE FOR THEIR JOURNEY TO ALLAH

SALAH IS A BANQUET THAT ONE IS INVITED TO NOT ONCE BUT FIVE TIMES A DAY

IT IS FULL OF DIFFERENT KINDS OF DELIGHTS QIYAM, TILAWAT, RUKU, SUJUD, CROSSING ARMS MOST IMPORTANTLY, AN AUDIENCE WITH THE KING OF KINGS EARTHING, QIBLA, ENTANGLEMENT

و الص ال ة ن ور SALAH IS LIGHT.[ر و اه م س ل م ]

اهلل تعال SALAH IS LIGHT FROM MUHABBA AND LIGHT FROM THE ANGELS LIGHT TO THE TREES, LIGHT TO THE CREATURES AND LIGHT TO THE CREATION.

BEING LIGHT, IT TRANSCENDS TIME AND SPACE AND LITERALLY CONNECTS US TO THE HEAVENS.

PEOPLE ATTEND A FEAST HUNGRY AND THEY LEAVE: SATIATED QUENCHED STRENGTHENED RELIEVED SUPPORTED GUIDED THIS IS FOOD FOR THE HEART AND BODY.

SALAH IS THE RAIN OF THE HEART WHEN THE HEART IS WATERED BY THE RAINS OF MERCY THEN THE BRANCHES BECOME PLIABLE AND RESPONSIVE, AND HASTEN TO SUBMIT AND OBEY. EACH LIMB ALSO RECEIVES IT'S ASSIGNED BENEFIT FROM THE SALAH. WHEN THE HEART IS DRY THEN THE LIMBS BECOME WEAK AND ARE CUT OFF FROM SUBMISSION AND FAIL TO REAP THE INTENDED HARVEST

SALAH IS A GIFT FROM THE KING OF KINGS BEING CALLED TO PRAYER 5 TIMES A DAY IS A GIFT FROM ALLAH UPON HIS SERVANTS. EVERY UTTERANCE, MOVEMENT, SILENCE AND POSITION IS A MERCY AND FACILITATION FOR THEM FROM THEIR LORD.

THE SECRET OF SALAH THE SECRET OF SALAH LIES IN THE INCLINATION OF THE HEART TOWARDS اهلل تعال AND FOCUSSING THE ATTENTION ON HIM SWT ONLY

THE SECRET OF SALAH THE EXAMPLE OF THOSE WHO ARE NOT MINDFUL IS THAT OF ONE WHO VISITS A KING TO SEEK A FAVOUR FROM HIM. AS SOON AS HE IS IN THE PRESENCE OF THE KING, HE BUSIES HIMSELF WITH ACTIONS THAT DISPLEASES THE KING AND HE FORGETS ALL ABOUT HIS NEEDS.

THE SECRET OF SALAH HOWEVER THE KING, THROUGH HIS KINDNESS AND MERCY, NEVERTHELESS GIVES HIM SOMETHING FOR VISITING HIM AND COMMANDS HIS SERVANTS (THE LIMBS) TO CONTINUE SERVING HIM, INSPITE OF HIS INDIFFERENCE.

THE PURPOSE OF SALAH ALLAH CREATED MAN TO WORSHIP HIM, AND EVERYTHING ELSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF MAN. ALLAH SAYS IN HADITH QUDSI, 'OH SON OF ADAM I HAVE CREATED YOU TO WORSHIP ME, AND EVERYTHING ELSE FOR YOU. SO BY MY RIGHTS OVER YOU, DO NOT INDULGE IN MATTERS THAT I HAVE NOT CREATED YOU FOR. THIS IS THE PURPOSE OF SALAH, THAT THE SERVANT CAN COME CLOSER TO HIS LORD, INVOKE HIM, EARN HIS LOVE AND ENJOY HIS COMPANY.

SALAH IS PROPORTIONATE TO THE NEEDS OF MAN THE SERVANT EXPERIENCES TIMES OF HEEDLESSNESS, DETACHMENT AND HARD HEARTEDNESS AND FALLS INTO SINNING IN THE TIMES BETWEEN THE PRAYERS. THIS DISTANCES HIM FROM HIS LORD AND MAY EVEN DELIVER HIM TO HIS ENEMY, SHAYTAN. THIS ENEMY FILLS HIM WITH ANXIETY, GRIEF AND DESIRES. HOWEVER ALLAH HAS MEASURED THE SALAH PROPORTIONATE TO HIS NEEDS IN EACH PHASE BETWEEN THE SALAH.

SALAH IS THE ULTIMATE FORM OF SUBMISSION WUDHU PURIFIES FROM SINS AND OUTWARD IMPURITY. REPENTANCE PURIFIES FROM SINS AND DISBELIEF AND DISOBEDIENCE. JUST LIKE A REBELLIOUS SLAVE WHO RETURNS TO HIS MASTER, INDICATING HIS RENUNCIATION OF REBELLIOUSNESS.SIMILARLY THROUGH SALAH WITH HUMILITY AND SUBMISSIVENESS HE APOLOGIZES AND IS PARDONED BY A MOST GENEROUS MASTER.

GLORIFICATIONS ARE A MESSAGE TO THE HEART HE SHOULD THEN STAND BEFORE HIS MASTER DECLARE HIS GREATNESS WHICH INDICATES AN END TO HIS REBELLIOUSNESS.

GLORIFICATIONS ARE A MESSAGE TO THE HEART ALSO HIS TAKBIR SHOULD BE A MESSAGE TO HIS HEART AND LIMBS THAT NOTHING ELSE SHOULD DISTRACT HIM FROM HIS LORD, LEST HE AGAIN BECOMES DISRESPECTFUL AND SHOWS HIS LORD THAT HE REGARDS CERTAIN THINGS AS MORE IMPORTANT TO HIM THAN HIS MASTER.

GLORIFICATIONS ARE A MESSAGE TO THE HEART THE TONGUE AND THE HEART SHOULD THUS BE IN HARMONY TOGETHER WITH ALL THE LIMBS.

SALAH WITH JAMA AH ATTENDING THE CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER IS A SIGN OF SERVITUDE AND OBEDIENCE. LIKE A DISOBEDIENT SLAVE NULLIFIES HIS STATE OF DISOBEDIENCE BY PRESENTING HIMSELF WITH HUMILITY BEFORE HIS MASTER. SO TOO DOES ONE S ATTENDING THE MASJID INDICATE HUMBLE AND SUBMISSIVE RETURN TO HIS LORD.

THE OPENING PRAISE HE THEN BEGINS WITH GLORIFICATION TO DEMONSTRATE HIS SUBMISSION, HUMILITY AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF HIS RECOGNITION OF THE MASTER S GREATNESS. SUBHANAKALLAHUMMA WA BI HAMDIKA. THIS IS FITTING FOR ONE WHO ENTERS INTO THE PALACE OF THE KING SEEKING SOME FAVOR FROM HIM

SEEKING REFUGE AGAINST THE SHAYTAN THE SERVANT IS THEN INSTRUCTED TO SEEK REFUGE AGAINST THE SHAYTAN. BECAUSE SALAH IS THE SINGLE MOST BENEFICIAL ACT FOR THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT, SHAYTAN WILL SPARE NO EFFORT TO TRY AND DISSUADE FROM IT, AND AT THE LEAST, HE WILL TRY TO MAKE THE SLAVE'S HEART ABSENT DURING THE PRAYER.

SEEKING REFUGE AGAINST THE SHAYTAN THIS IS BECAUSE THE SERVANT S RECITAL OF THE QUR AN AND CONTEMPLATING IT S MEANINGS HAS SUCH A POWERFUL EFFECT ON THE HEART OF THE BELIEVER. THUS THE SHAYTAN REMINDS ONE OF ALL SORTS OF DISTRACTIONS AS SOON AS HE BEGINS HIS SALAH. ALSO ALLAH IS INDICATING TO US THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN AGAINST THIS ENEMY EXCEPT WITH THE HELP AND PROTECTION OF ALLAH.

PROTECTION IS ONLY FROM ALLAH IBN TAYMIYA ADVISED IBNUL QAYYIM THAT IF A SHEEPDOG WAS BARKING AND TRYING TO ATTACK A PERSON, IT WOULD BE BEST FOR THE PERSON, INSTEAD OF FIGHTING BACK, RATHER TO SEEK THE ASSISTANCE OF THE OWNER OF THE SHEEPDOG WHO COULD STOP THE DOG IMMEDIATELY. THIS WOULD FREE THE HEART OF THE BELIEVER TO CONTEMPLATE THE WONDERS OF THE QUR AN. WONDERS THAT NO EYE HAS SEEN, NO EAR HAS HEARD OF, AND NO MIND HAS EVER CONCEPTUALISED.

PROTECTION IS ONLY FROM ALLAH AS SOON AS HE EXPELS THE SHAYTAN, ALLAH TAKES OVER HIS HEART AND REMINDS HIM OF WHAT WILL GIVE HIM OF EVERLASTING HAPPINESS. REMEMBER RECITAL IS LIKE TALKING TO ALLAH. SO IF ONE SEEKS AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE KING BUT IS PREOCCUPIED WITH OTHER THINGS WHEN HE ENTERS UPON THE KING, HE WILL DRAW THE ANGER OF THE KING UPON HIM AND DEPRIVE HIMSELF OF THE FAVOURS OF THE KING

RECITAL OF THE FATIHA AFTER EACH AYAH OF THE FATIHA, THE SERVANT SHOULD PAUSE AND WAIT FOR THE RESPONSE OF HIS LORD.

RECITAL OF THE FATIHA THE PROPHET PBUH SAID THAT WHEN THE SERVANT RECITES ALL PRAISES ARE FOR ALLAH, LORD OF THE WORLDS, ALLAH RESPONDS, MY SERVANT HAS PRAISED ME". WHEN HE SAYS THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL, اهلل تعال RESPONDS, MY SERVANT HAS EXTOLLED ME, WHEN THE SERVANT SAYS, MASTER OF THE DAY JUDGEMENT, اهلل تعال RESPONDS, MY SERVANT HAS GLORIFIED ME, WHEN THE SERVANT SAYS, THEE ALONE DO WE WORSHIP, AND THEE ALONE DO WE ASK FOR HELP, ALLAH RESPONDS, "THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND MY SERVANT, AND MY SERVANT WILL HAVE WHAT HE ASKS FOR.

RECITAL OF THE FATIHA ONE WHO EXPERIENCES THE SWEETNESS OF THE TAKBIR AND THE FATIHA, KNOWS THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO REPLACE THEM, JUST LIKE THEIR IS NOTHING TO REPLACE THE STANDING, BOWING AND PROSTRATING. EACH STATEMENT HAS IT S OWN UNIQUE EXPERIENCE AND EFFECT ON THE SERVANT.

PRAISING ALLAH THE SERVANT THEN BEGINS WITH ALL PRAISES ARE FOR ALLAH. THE PRAISES THAT FILL THE HEAVENS, THE EARTH AND WHAT IS BETWEEN THEM, AND IT IS ALL DUE TO ALLAH ALONE. EVERY SINGLE ATOM, EVERY LEAF THAT MOVES AND EVERY CREATION IN THE UNIVERSE PRAISE ALLAH. FOR THE EXISTENCE OF EACH OF THESE IS DUE THE PRAISE OF تعال,اهلل AND FOR EACH PART THAT MAKES UP EACH OF THESE THINGS. THE PRAISES BELONG TO HIM, IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER HE IS PRAISED OR NOT.

PRAISING ALLAH TEACHING THE PROPHET PBUH THE SAYING SAMI ALLAHU LIMAN HAMIDA, ALLAH HEARS HIM WHO PRAISES HIM, INDICATES THAT THE PRAISE ON THE TONGUE OF THE SLAVE IS A GIFT FROM ALLAH. THUS THE SERVANT NEEDS TO THANK THE MASTER FOR ALLOWING HIM TO PRAISE HIM SWT. THEREFORE UPON THE SERVANT IS PERPETUAL GRATITUDE FOR THE FAVOR OF HAMD, BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO PRAISE ALLAH EACH TIME THAT HE HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO PRAISE, SO PRAISE UPON PRAISE UPON PRAISE. THIS IS THE STATE THAT THE SERVANT SHOULD BE IN, IN RELATION TO HIS MASTER. THEN TOO, HIS CONTINUOUS PRAISE WOULD STILL NOT BE SUFFICIENT TO ENUMERATE THE PRAISES OF HIS LORD.

PRAISING ALLAH TEACHING THE PROPHET PBUH THE SAYING SAMI ALLAHU LIMAN HAMIDA, ALLAH HEARS HIM WHO PRAISES HIM, INDICATES THAT THE PRAISE ON THE TONGUE OF THE SLAVE IS A GIFT FROM ALLAH. THE SERVANT NEEDS TO THANK THE MASTER FOR ALLOWING HIM TO PRAISE HIM SWT. THEREFORE UPON THE SERVANT IS PERPETUAL GRATITUDE FOR THE FAVOR OF HAMD, BECAUSE HE NEEDS TO PRAISE ALLAH EACH TIME THAT HE HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO PRAISE, SO PRAISE UPON PRAISE UPON PRAISE.

PRAISING ALLAH AL AWZAI STATED THAT HAMD IS NOT ONLY DUE FOR FAVORS, BUT FOR ALL THE HARMS THAT THE SERVANT HAS BEEN SAVED FROM PRAISE IS ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE AND WISDOM THAT THE LORD BLESSES HIS SERVANT WITH. THUS PRAISE IS BASED UPON KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD. THE MORE ONE LEARNS ABOUT THE MIGHT OF HIS LORD, THE MORE HE CAN PRAISE HIM SWT THE PROPHET PBUH SAID THAT ON QIYAMAH, ALLAH WILL INSPIRE ME TO PRAISE HIM WITH PRAISES THAT I DO NOT KNOW. INDICATING THAT PRAISE IS A GIFT FROM ALLAH UPON HIS SERVANTS.

LORD OF THE WORLDS LORD OF THE WORLDS, INDICATES THE SERVANT S ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF THE LORDSHIP AND CONTROL THAT ALLAH EXERCISES OVER EVERY SINGLE THING. HE IS THE ONLY ONE WORTHY OF WORSHIP, THE ONLY ONE IN WHOM REFUGE IS SOUGHT IN TIMES OF HARDSHIP AND FROM WHOM FAVOURS ARE SOUGHT.

AR-RAHMAN AR-RAHIM AR RAHMAN AR RAHIM INDICATES THAT ALLAH S MERCY ENCOMPASSES AND EMBRACES EVERYTHING, INCLUDING THE SALAH THAT THE SERVANT HAS BEEN FAVORED TO PERFORM.

MAALIKI YOUM-UD DEEN "MAALIKI YOUM-UD DEEN THIS REMINDS THE SERVANT OF THE DAY WHEN THE WAY HE HAS LIVED HIS LIFE WILL BE EXAMINED. ON THAT DAY NOTHING BIG OR SMALL WILL BE HIDDEN.

IYYAKA NA BUDU IYYAKA NASTA IN ONE SHOULD CONTEMPLATE THE TAWHID THAT IS INVOLVED IN IYYAKA NA BUDU AND THE TAWHID INVOLVED IN IYYAKA NASTA IN ALSO ONE SHOULD CONTEMPLATE WHY ALLAH PLACED THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SURAH WHY IT PRECEDES THE DUA THAT FOLLOWS IT AND WHY THE WORD IYYAKA PRECEDES THE WORSHIP AND THE SEEKING OF HELP.

IHDINAS SIRATAL MUSTAQIM - GUIDE US TO THE STRAIGHT PATH THE SERVANT NEEDS GUIDANCE FOR: REPENTANCE FOR HIS WRONGDOINGS AND INSINCERITY THE FINER DETAILS OF RIGHT ACTION MATTERS THAT WILL INCREASE HIS GUIDANCE MATTERS OF THE FUTURE, JUST AS HE WAS GUIDED IN THE PAST SOUND BELIEF IN MATTERS THAT HE LACKS SOUND BELIEF IN MATTERS THAT HE POSSESSES THE CAPACITY TO DO BUT HAS NOT YET DONE THE DESIRE TO DO ACTS THAT HE HAS THE CAPACITY TO DO BUT HAS NOT YET DESIRED TO DO TO MAINTAIN AND CONTINUE ACTING ON THE SOUND AFFAIRS THAT HE ALREADY PERFORMS.

IHDINAS SIRATAL MUSTAQIM GUIDE US TO THE STRAIGHT PATH IN FACT GUIDANCE IS THE GREATEST NEED THAT THE SERVANT HAS FROM HIS LORD, THAT IS WHY IMMEDIATELY AFTER PROMISING ALLAH THAT HE WOULD ASK ONLY HIM, THE FIRST THING HE ASKS FOR IS GUIDANCE. ALSO THAT IS WHY HE ASKS FOR IT SO MANY TIMES A DAY.

THE PATH THAT IS SOUGHT THEN CLARIFIES THAT THE PATH THAT IS SOUGHT IS اهلل تعال THE PATH OF THE GUIDED ONES, I.E. THE PROPHET PBUH AND HIS COMPANIONS. NOT THE PATH OF THOSE WHO KNEW THE TRUTH AND REFUSED TO ACT ON IT, I.E. THE JEWS - AL MAGHDUBI ALAYHIM. NOR OF THOSE WHO ACTED BUT DEVIATED FROM THE TRUTH (BID AH), I.E THE CHRISTIANS - WALAD DHALLEEN.

SERVITUDE IN RUKU SERVITUDE IN RUKU - SUHANA RABBIYAL ATHEEM - THROUGH THIS ACT THE HEART, BODY AND TONGUE SUBMIT SUBLIMELY THROUGH HUMILITY, GLORIFICATION AND REMEMBRANCE. THIS IS AN ACT OF ACCEPTANCE OF SERVITUDE, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY THE HEART HAS TO BE BOWED IN HUMILITY AND THE BOWING OF THE BODY IS MERELY A PILLAR OF THE PRAYER AND A REMINDER TO THE HEART TO SUBMIT.

SERVITUDE IN QIYAM AS THE SERVANT RISES FROM BOWING TO HIS MOST FITTING POSTURE HE THANKS اهلل تعال FOR GUIDING HIM AND FACILITATING HIS FAVOURS UPON HIM, THAT SO MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN PREVENTED FROM EXPERIENCING. JUST AS QUR AN HAS BEEN PRESCRIBED IN THE STANDING BEFORE RUKU, SO TOO IS GLORIFYING AND PRAISING ALLAH WHEN STANDING AFTER RUKU. IT IS AN ESSENTIAL PILLAR OF SALAH JUST LIKE RUKU AND SUJUD. THAT S WHY THE PROPHET PBUH USED TO PRAISE ALLAH JUST AS LONG AS HE USED TO PRAISE IN RUKU AND SUJUD.

SERVITUDE IN SUJUD THE SLAVE THEN SAYS ALLAHU AKBAR AND THEN FALLS DOWN IN PROSTRATION SO THAT ALL HIS LIMBS CAN DEMONSTRATE THEIR SERVITUDE TO ALLAH. THE FOREHEAD PLACED ON THE FLOOR, HIS FACE, THE MOST HONORED PART OF HIS BODY MIXES WITH THE DUST, ALL THE LOWER LIMBS ARE HIGHER THAN THE FACE AND FOREHEAD, DEMONSTRATING ABSOLUTE HUMILITY BEFORE THE MASTER.

SERVITUDE IN SUJUD THE HEART SHOULD ALSO BE IN A STATE OF PROSTRATION ALONG WITH THE OTHER LIMBS. IF THE HEART PROSTRATES ALONG WITH THE LIMBS THEN THE SLAVE BECOMES ONE OF THE FAVORED MEMBERS OF SLAVES.

SERVITUDE IN SUJUD IN THIS POSITION, NO PART SHOULD DEPEND ON ANOTHER. THE THIGHS SHOULD NOT REST ON THE LEGS, A SPACE SHOULD BE MAINTAINED BETWEEN THE LEGS AND THE BELLY, AND A SPACE SHOULD BE KEPT BETWEEN THE ARMS AND THE BODY. THIS IS SO THAT EACH LIMB DEMONSTRATES IT S HUMILITY AND BECAUSE THE THIS IS THE CLOSEST THE SLAVE IS TO HIS MASTER, I.E. WHEN HE IS IN SUJUD

SERVITUDE IN SUJUD ONE OF THE SALAF WAS ASKED, DOES THE HEART PROSTRATE? HE REPLIED YES, AND IT DOES NOT RAISE IT S HEAD EVEN ONCE AND REMAINS IN THIS STATE UNTIL IT MEETS ALLAH SWT.

SALAH IS BASED ON FIVE PILLARS RECITATION - QIRA AA STANDING - QIYAM RUKU - BOWING SUJUD - PROSTRATION DHIKR - REMEMBRANCE OF ALLAH

THE STATE OF THE SLAVE BETWEEN THE TWO PROSTRATIONS THIS IS A SPECIAL POSITION THAT THE SLAVE ASSUMES AFTER PROSTRATION UNTIL ALL HIS LIMBS ARE AT REST. THIS IS A SPECIAL POSITION WITH IT S OWN EFFECT. IN THIS POSITION THE ABD SEEKS FORGIVENESS AND MERCY, RABBIGHFIRLI WARHAMNI IN THIS STATE THE SLAVE IS LIKE A PERSON WHO HAS STOOD GUARANTEE FOR A PERSON WHO HAS FAILED TO PAY HIS DEBT. HE IS THEREFORE SEEKING HELP TO MAKE THE DEBTOR PAY HIS DEBT SO HE CAN BE RELIEVED OF THE GUARANTEE.

THE STATE OF THE SLAVE BETWEEN THE TWO PROSTRATIONS THIS IS BECAUSE THE HEART AND NAFS ARE IN A PARTNERSHIP.THE NAFS IS ALWAYS INCLINING TO SIN. IF THE HEART IS WEAK IT IS RUINED BY THE NAFS, BUT IF THE HEART IS STRONG IT SUBDUES AND OVERPOWERS THE NAFS. THUS IT NEEDS THE HELP OF ALLAH AND HIS FORGIVENESS FOR WHAT THE NAFS HAS MISLED THEM TO DO.

THE WISDOM BEHIND THE SECOND SAJDA WHEN THE SLAVE RECOGNISES HIS DEPENDENCE ON THE GUIDANCE, FORGIVENESS AND MERCY OF ALLAH, HE FALLS INTO A SECOND PROSTRATION BECAUSE IT IS THE CLOSEST HE CAN BE TO HIS LORD. BECAUSE SUJUD IS THE MOST PROMINENT AND CENTRAL PART OF PRAYER AND THE GREATEST MARK OF SERVITUDE, IT IS REQUIRED TWICE. UNLIKE ALL THE OTHER MOVEMENTS. THUS PART OF THE WISDOM OF BOWING BEFORE PROSTRATING IS TO PREPARE THE SLAVE TO PROPERLY DEMONSTRATE HIS HUMILITY AND NOT TO BE DISTRACTED BY OTHER AFFAIRS.

THE WISDOM OF REPEATING MOVEMENTS THE PURPOSE OF REPEATING THE MOVEMENTS IS BECAUSE THE HEART, SOUL AND BODY ARE IN DESPERATE NEED OF THIS NOURISHMENT. JUST LIKE A HUNGRY PERSON MAY BECOME EVEN MORE HUNGRY IF HE IS GIVEN ONLY ONE MOUTHFUL OF FOOD, SO TOO IS THE EFFECT ON THE HEART AND LIMBS. IN FACT ONE OF THE SALAF SAID THAT THE EXAMPLE OF A MAN WHO PRAYS WITHOUT ACHIEVING TRANQUILITY AND CALMNESS IS LIKE A MAN WHO IS HUNGRY, BUT WHEN THE FOOD IS SERVED, HE TAKES ONLY ONE OR TWO MOUTHFULS. WHAT GOOD WILL IT DO FOR HIM?

THE WISDOM OF REPEATING MOVEMENTS REPEATING THE ACTIONS IS LIKE WASHING A GARMENT, IT NEEDS TO BE SOAKED AND RINSED A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT IS CLEANSED. THUS THE ACTS OF SALAH ARE A CLEANSING AND NOURISHMENT FOR THE HEARTS AND LIMBS.

SERVITUDE IN AT-TAHIYYAT AND AT-TASHHAHUD IT IS THE CUSTOM OF KINGS TO BE GREETED WITH DIFFERENT GREETINGS IN WORDS AND ACTIONS. SOME STAND AND LAUD THE PRAISES OF THE KING, SOME BOW AND PRAISE HIM, SOME PROSTRATE AND PRAISE HIM BUT TO THE KING OF KINGS IS DUE ALL THESE GREETINGS. THUS THE SERVANT DOES ALL OF THESE IN THE PRAYER. IN THE FINAL SITTING HE SAYS AL TAHIYYAT, THE ARTICLE AL IN ARABIC MEANS AND INCLUDES EVERY TYPE OF GREETING AND PRAISE. ALSO THE WORD TAHIYYAT IS FROM THE ROOT HAYAH WHICH MEANS PERPETUAL LIFE. THUS EVERY FORM OF GREETING AND PRAISE IS DUE TO THE ETERNAL AND SUPREME KING OF KINGS.

TAHIYYAT AND SALAWAAT THE WISDOM BEHIND LINKING THE TAHIYYAT AND SALAWAT IS THAT TAHIYYAT (PRAISE AND GREETINGS) IS DUE TO اهلل تعال ONLY, BECAUSE HE IS THE LORD OF EVERYTHING. SALAWAT (PRAYERS) ARE DUE TO HIM BECAUSE WE ARE HIS SLAVES. AT TAYYIBAT ( ALL GOOD AND PURE) GREETINGS AND PRAISES ARE FOR HIM ONLY, INDICATES TO US THAT HIS SPEECH, ACTIONS AND EVERYTHING COMING FROM HIM ARE PURE AND GOOD.

SERVITUDE IN TASHAHUD AFTER PRAISING AND GREETING ALLAH THE SLAVE IS REQUIRED TO GREET ALL THE OBEDIENT SERVANTS, BEGINNING WITH THE MOST EXCELLENT AND OBEDIENT, THE ONE THROUGH WHOM ALLAH GUIDED US ALL, I.E. SAYYIDINA MUHAMMED SAW NEXT THE SERVANT GREETS HIMSELF AND ALL THE PIOUS AND OBEDIENT SLAVES. THIS IS WHAT HE IS AIMING TO ACHIEVE

THE TWO SHAHADAS AS THE SLAVE REACHES THE END HE TESTIFIES AS HE DOES AT THE END OF WUDHU AND AT THE END OF HIS LIFE.

SENDING SALAH UPON THE NABI SAW ( DUROOD) THE PROPHET SAW TAUGHT US THEN WHEN WE MAKE DUA, WE SHOULD PRAISE ALLAH, SEND PRAYERS UPON HIS MESSENGER PBUH AND THEN ASK FOR WHATEVER WE WANT. THE FINAL SITTING SHOULD BE LIKE THE TAWAFUL IFADA. HE SHOULD FEEL THE SADNESS THAT HE IS LEAVING THE SANCTUARY OF HIS LORD, AND THIS SHOULD CREATE A PAIN IN HIS HEART. BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE IS RETURNING TO THINGS AND PEOPLE THAT WILL DEVIATE HIM FROM HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS LORD.

SENDING SALAH UPON THE NABI SAW ( DUROOD) IT IS CALLED TASLIM BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE THE ULTIMATE DEMONSTRATION OF SUBMISSION.

THE REAL REWARD IS WHEN ONE COMMENCES SALAH SALAH PERFORMED CORRECTLY INCREASES IMAN AND IHSAAN. THESE ARE THE TWO IDEALS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS. THE FRUIT OF FASTING IS TAQWA, OF ZAKAH IS PURIFICATION OF ONE S WEALTH, OF HAJJ IS FORGIVENESS, OF JIHAD IS PARADISE. THE FRUIT OF SALAH IS THE ATTENTION OF THE ABD (SLAVE) UPON ALLAH, AND ALLAH S ATTENTION UPON HIS ABD THUS SALAH ACCRUES ALL THE ABOVE-MENTIONED BENEFITS FOR THE ABD. THIS IS WHY THE PROPHET PBUH DID NOT SAY THAT HIS COMFORT WAS PLACED IN FASTING, OR HAJJ, OR JIHAD. BUT RATHER IN SALAH.

HOW PRAYER SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE BELIEVERS THE PRAYER RELIEVES US FROM HARDSHIP, JUST AS OUR HOMES COMFORT US AFTER A HARD DAY THE PROPHET PBUH DID NOT SAY LET US RELIEVE OURSELVES OF THE BURDEN OF SALAH. BUT RATHER, LET SALAH RELIEVE US OF OUR BURDENS. SO LOOK HOW DISTANT THIS IS FROM THOSE WHO REGARD SALAH AS A BURDEN WHICH ONE NEEDS TO GET OVER WITH (IMAGINE THE SHAYKH SAID THIS ABOUT 700 YEARS AGO, WHAT STILL ABOUT US TODAY).

HOW PRAYER SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE BELIEVERS THEY CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SALAH TO BE OVER WITH, BECAUSE THEIR COMFORT LIES OUT OF SALAH, SINCE THEIR.اهلل تعال HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH EVERYTHING ELSE EXCEPT THE ONLY THING THAT COMPELS THEM TO SALAH IS BECAUSE IT IS AN OBLIGATION. ALL THE WHILE THEIR HEARTS ARE SAYING GET IT OVER WITH. WHAT THEY UTTER WITH THEIR TONGUES IS NOT AFFIRMED BY THEIR HEARTS.

HOW PRAYER SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE BELIEVERS THUS FOR SOME SALAH IS A COMFORT THAT RELIEVES AND SOOTHES, WHILE OTHERS REGARD IT AS A CHAIN THAT SHACKLES AND IMPRISONS THE HEART. THESE, ALLAH MAY GIVE THEM SOME BENEFIT FOR THEIR SALAH OR PUNISH THEM FOR THEIR DEFICIENCY IN SALAH. THE EXAMPLE OF THESE PEOPLE ARE LIKE ONE WHO ENTERED INTO THE PALACE OF A KING BUT THERE WAS A BARRIER PREVENTING HIM FROM GAINING AN AUDIENCE WITH THE KING. HIS DESIRES ARE THE BARRIER, THEREFORE THEY ARE HASTY AND UNEASY IN SALAH, AND FEEL RELIEVED AS SOON AS THEY ARE DONE WITH SALAH.

HOW PRAYER SHOULD BE UNDERSTOOD BY THE BELIEVERS THE EXAMPLE OF THE PERSON WHO FINDS COMFORT IN HIS SALAH IS AS ONE WHO ENTERS UPON A KING AND THE BARRIER BETWEEN HIM AND THE KING IS REMOVED. AS HE PRAISES THE KING, THE KING SHOWERS HIM WITH GIFTS AND TREASURES. HE IS PLEASED BEYOND HIS EXPECTATIONS AND IS DISTRESSED AT THE THOUGHT OF LEAVING THIS MEETING AND CAN T WAIT TO RETURN.

KHUSHOO STANDING BEFORE ALLAH WITH A HUMBLE HEART IBN MAS UD R.A SAID THE TIME BETWEEN OUR EMBRACING ISLAM AND BEING REBUKED BY THIS VERSE WAS FOUR YEARS.

KHUSHOO STANDING BEFORE ALLAH WITH A HUMBLE HEART SURAH HADID V.16 أ ل م ي أ ن ل ل ذ ين آم ن وا أ ن ت خ ش ع ق ل وب ه م ل ذ ك ر اهلل و م ا ن ز ل م ن ال ح ق و ال ي ك ون وا ك ال ذ ين أ وت وا ال ك ت اب م ن ق ب ل ف ط ال ع ل ي ه م األ م د ف ق س ت ق ل وب ه م و ك ث ير م ن ه م ف اس ق ون Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe to be affected by Allah's Reminder (this Quran), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture before (i.e. Jews and Christians), and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of them were Fasiqun

IBN ABBAS R. A SAID THAT ALLAH GRANTED TIME AND LEEWAY TO THE BELIEVERS FOR 13 YEARS AFTER REVELATION BEGAN, BEFORE REBUKING THE BELIEVERS WITH THIS VERSE SURAH MU'MINOON V.1 ق د أ ف ل ح امل ؤ م ن ون Successful indeed are the believers. Surah Mu'minoon v.2 ال ذ ين ه م ف ي ص ال ت ه م خ اش ع ون Those who offer their Salat (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness.

IBN ABBAS R. A SAID THAT ALLAH GRANTED TIME AND LEEWAY TO THE BELIEVERS FOR 13 YEARS AFTER REVELATION BEGAN, BEFORE REBUKING THE BELIEVERS WITH THIS VERSE THE PROPHET PBUH SAW A MAN PLAYING WITH HIS BEARD IN SALAH AND REMARKED, IF THE HEART OF THIS PERSON WAS HUMBLE, SO TOO WOULD HIS LIMBS BE.

BEWARE OF HYPOCRISY THE PROPHET PBUH SAID TAQWA IS HERE AND HE POINTED TO HIS BREAST 3 TIMES. ONE OF THE COMPANIONS SAID SEEK REFUGE FROM HYPOCRITICAL KHUSHOO. HE WAS ASKED WHAT THAT WAS, HE SAID WHEN YOU SEE THE BODY HUMBLE, WHILE THE HEART IS NOT. SAYYIDINA UMAR SAW A MAN WITH HIS NECK BENT IN PRAYER, HE SAID OH SO AND SO RAISE YOUR NECK FOR KHUSHOO LIES NOT IN THE NECK BUT IN THE HEART

BEWARE OF HYPOCRISY A ISHA R.A. SAW SOME PEOPLE WALKING VERY MEEKLY, SHE ASKED WHO THEY WERE, HER COLLEAGUES REPLIED SOME ASCETICS (SUFIS), SHE SAID WHEN UMAR IBN KHATTAB WALKED, HE WALKED RAPIDLY, WHEN HE SPOKE, HE WAS HEARD, WHEN HE STRUCK, IT WAS FELT, WHEN HE FED PEOPLE, HE MADE SURE THEY HAD THEIR FILL. HE WAS THE TRUE ASCETIC (SUFI).

BEWARE OF HYPOCRISY HUDHAYFA R.A. SAID, THE FIRST THING YOU WILL LOSE OF YOUR RELIGION IS KHUSHOO, AND THE LAST THING WILL BE SALAH, AND IT IS WELL POSSIBLE THAT THERE IS NO GOOD IN A PERSON THAT PRAYS (MEANING BECAUSE HE HAS NO KHUSHOO, HIS PRAYER WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED), AND SOON YOU SHALL ENTER A LARGE MASJID AND NOT SEE A SINGLE PERSON WITH KHUSHOO. THUS TRUE KHUSHOO OCCURS IN THE HEART AND IS MANIFEST IN THE LIMBS

BEWARE OF HYPOCRISY HYPOCRITICAL KHUSHOO OCCURS IN THE LIMBS, BUT THE HEART IS VOID OF KHUSHOO. OUTWARDLY THE PERSON DISPLAYS HUMILITY BUT HIS HEART IS ARROGANT AND DESIRES RECOGNITION. IT IS LIKE A SERPENT OR A LION LURKING BETWEEN HIS SHOULDERS.

MAY ALLAH SWT GIVE US THE TAWFEEQ TO PRAY AS THE MESSENGER SAW PRAYED, MAY HE PROTECT US FROM HYPOCRISY AND RIYA (SHOWING OFF) AND MAY HE SWT MAKE US OF THE PEOPLE OF SALAH AND KHUSHOO.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING

THE SOUL AND BODY ARE LIKE PLANTS THAT CONSTANTLY NEED RAIN AND WATER, THIS IS THE ROLE SALAH PLAYS IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER. THIS IS A REMINDER ALSO OF OUR WEAKNESS AND WHY WE SHOULD NEVER PLACE CONFIDENCE IN OUR OBEDIENCE. REMEMBER WE ARE ASKING ALLAH MORE THAN 17 TIMES A DAY FOR GUIDANCE.

IDLE PURSUITS IDLE PURSUITS OF HEEDLESS ACTIVITIES WEAKEN AND HARDEN THE HEART. NOT BEING CAREFUL CAN CAUSE SOME HEARTS TO BECOME BARREN OTHERS TO PRODUCE ORDINARILY OTHERS TO BE LUSH WITH VEGETATION.

THE HEART BECOMES DRY WHEN IT IS BEREFT OF: LOVE KNOWLEDGE DHIKR DUA TAUHEED THIS DRYNESS IS CAUSED BY THE NAFS AND SHAHAWAT

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS THE FIRST: THOSE WHOSE LIMBS ARE IN THE SERVITUDE OF THEIR LORD. THEY ARE THE SUCCESSFUL MERCHANTS WHO HAVE MADE ALLAH'S OBEDIENCE THEIR TRADE AND HAVE REALISED THE GRACE OF ALLAH UPON THEM AND THEIR LIMBS. THEY THEREFORE DEVOTE THEIR LIMBS TO ALLAH'S OBEDIENCE

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS EXAMPLE OF THE FIRST: A PERSON WHO WAS GIVEN A PIECE OF LAND TO FARM. HE WAS GIVEN ALL THE TOOLS NECESSARY AS WELL, I.E. SEEDS, WATER, IMPLEMENTS ETC. HE PLANTED HIS SEEDS AND WATERED THEM REGULARLY. HE ALSO REMOVED THE WEEDS REGULARLY AND SPENT FROM HIS EARNINGS TO FENCE THE PROPERTY, HIRED GUARDS TO PROTECT IT AND SPENT ON IT S MAINTENANCE.

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS THE SECOND: THOSE WHO DO NOT DEDICATE THEIR LIMBS TO ALLAH'S OBEDIENCE AND THUS ARE THE DESTITUTE ONE'S DESTINED FOR HELL-FIRE. THEY JUSTIFY ALLAH'S WRATH AND ANGER UPON THEM.

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS EXAMPLE OF THE SECOND: ONE WHO WAS GIVEN LAND. INSTEAD OF FARMING IT, HE ALLOWED THIEVES AND MURDERERS TO OCCUPY IT. WORSE STILL, HE ALLOWED BODIES, CORPSES AND ROTTEN FILTH TO BE DUMPED ON THE PROPERTY. TO MAKE THINGS WORSE, HE HANDED THE RESOURCES OVER TO THE THIEVES AND MURDERERS FOR THEIR USE.

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS THE THIRD: THOSE WHO DO NOT USE THEIR LIMBS TO SUBMIT TO ALLAH OR FOR ANY OTHER WORTHY PURPOSE OF THIS WORLD. THESE ARE THE WORST AND MOST DESPISED OF CREATURES.

THREE KINDS OF PEOPLE IN RELATION TO THEIR LIMBS EXAMPLE OF THE THIRD: ONE WHO NEGLECTED THE LAND, WASTED THE WATER IN THE DESERT AND BECAME REGRETFUL AFTERWARD.

EXAMPLES OF THE MINDFUL, THE TREACHEROUS AND THE HEEDLESS. THE FIRST: THE ONES THAT MAKE EVEN THEIR EATING AND DRINKING, SOURCES OF REWARD AND THEIR WORSHIP اهلل AND REMEMBRANCE DRAWS THEM CLOSER TO ALLAH. THEY.تعال ARE SURROUNDED BY THE GRACE OF

EXAMPLES OF THE MINDFUL, THE TREACHEROUS AND THE HEEDLESS. THE SECOND: THE IDLE AND RECKLESS ONES THAT USE WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO DISOBEY اهلل تعال AND SO THEY ARE CAST INTO MISERY AND DISTRESS.

EXAMPLES OF THE MINDFUL, THE TREACHEROUS AND THE HEEDLESS. THE THIRD: THE HEEDLESSNESS OF THIS GROUP IS AS A RESULT OF THEIR UNMINDFULNESS AND BASE DESIRES.SO THEY WASTE THEIR LIVES INDULGING IN SERVING THEIR OWN PLEASURES AND NEGLECTING THE PROFITABLE TRADE. THEIR LOT IS REGRET IN THIS LIFE AND THE NEXT.

WOE TO THE HEEDLESS Surah Zumar v. IS HE WHOSE BREAST ALLAH HAS OPENED TO ISLAM, SO THAT HE IS IN LIGHT FROM HIS LORD (AS HE WHO IS NON- MUSLIM)? SO, WOE TO THOSE WHOSE HEARTS ARE HARDENED AGAINST REMEMBRANCE OF ALLAH! THEY ARE IN PLAIN ERROR!
