The way to overcome your desire in religion is to worship with sincerity and following the Messenger of Allah اهلل ع ليه وس لم.ص لى We need ikhlaas and we need to know our rabb.. The one taking care of me is my Rabb so of course I need to be afraid. In relationships, if people treat you badly don't follow your desire and reciprocate with harshness. Stop yourself by reminding yourself of this ayah before doing anything bad and remember the reward. These ayat need to be alive in our hearts and we need to apply it.
