2 Merits of This is a meccan sūrah. The surah that opens with a riveting description of The Rending open of the sky at the onset of the Day of Resurrection and assets that every human is being watched by angels and shall stand accountable before God in the Hereafter. It takes its name from the renting or torn apart (infiṭār) of the sky mentioned in verse 1. The surah deals with man s ingratitude and his failure to concede that the Day of Judgement will come. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) said that if a person recites this surah frequently in his prayers then on the Day of Judgement there will be no curtain between Allah (s.w.t.) and himself and when his book of deeds will be opened, Allah (s.w.t.) will protect him from humiliation. If a prisoner writes this surah and keeps it with him, he will be released sooner and he will be saved from any dangers. It is narrated from Imam Ja far as-sadiq (a.s) that even if the sins of the one who recites this surah are equal to the drops of rain, he will still be forgiven. This surah is also good for the eyes and one should blow gently into the eyes after reciting this surah.

4 ب ش م الل ه الر ح الر ح م ن م In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. عظیم اور دائمی رحمتوں هام صے کے والے خدا अल र ह क न भ स ज फड क ऩ र औय अत मन त दम व न ह bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi

5 ١ ر ت إ ذ ا الش م اء اهف ط When the sky is rent apart, ا صمان جب شگافتہ ہوجائے گا जफकक आक श पट ज एग ˈiḏā s-samāˈu nfaṭarat

6 ٢ ر ت ل و ام ب اهت ث و إ ذ ا ال when the stars are scattered, اور جب صتارے بکھر جائیں گے औय जफकक त य बफखय ज ए ग wa-ˈiḏā l-kawākibu ntaṯarat

7 ٣ ب ح ار ف ج و إ ذ ا ال ر ت when the seas are merged, اور جب دریا بہہ کر ایک دوصرے صے من جائیں گے औय जफकक सभ द र फह ऩड ग wa-ˈiḏā l-biḥāru fuǧǧirat

8 ب ور ب ع ق و إ ذ ا ال ث ر ت ٤ when the graves are overturned, اور جب قبروں کو ا بھار دیا جائے گا औय जफकक क फ उख ड द ज ए ग wa-ˈiḏā l-qubūru buʿṯirat

9 ٥ س م ع ل م ت ه ف م ت و ا ق د ر ت ا خ then a soul shall know what it has sent ahead and left behind. تب ہر هفس کو معلوم ہوگا کہ کیا مقدم کیا ےہ کیا اور موخر کیا ےہ तफ हय व मक तत ज न र ग क जस उसन प र थमभकत द औय ऩ छ ड र ʿalimat nafsun mā qaddamat wa-ˈaḫḫarat

10 ه ا ا ل هش ان م ا غ ر ك ب ر ب ك ال ل ر م ٦ ا ا O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord, اے اهشان تجھے رب کریم کے میں بارے کس شے هے دھوکہ میں رکھا ےہ ऐ भन ष म! ककस च ज न त झ अऩन उद य प रब क ववषम भ ध ख भ ड र यख ह? yā-ˈayyuhā l-ˈinsānu mā ġarraka bi-rabbika l-karīmi

11 ع د ق ك ف ش و اك ف ال ذ ي خ ل ل ك ٧ who created you and proportioned you, and gave you an upright nature, تجھے هے اس پیدا کیا ےہ پھر اور برابر کرکے متوازن بوایا ےہ क जसन त य प र र ऩ फन म, कपय नख-मशख स त झ द र स त ककम औय त झ स त रन प रद न ककम allaḏī ḫalaqaka fa-sawwāka fa-ʿadalaka

12 ص ور ف ي ا ي ة م ا ش اء ر م ب ك ٨ and composed you in any form that He wished? اس هے جس صورت میں چاہاےہ تیرے اجزائ کی ترکیب کی ےہ क जस र ऩ भ च ह उसन त झ ज डकय त म य ककम fī ˈayyi ṣūratin mā šāˈa rakkabaka

13 ب ون ب الد ن ٩ ت ل ذ ب ن م ل No indeed! Rather you deny the Retribution. مگر تم لوگ جزا کا اهکار کر تے ہو क छ नह, फक ल क त भ फदर ददए ज न क झ ठर त ह kallā bal tukaḏḏibūna bi-d-dīni

14 و إ ن ع ل ل م ل ح اف ظ ن ١٠ Indeed, there are over you watchers, اور یقیوا تمہارے صروں پر هگہبان مقرر ہیں जफकक त भऩय ननगय न कयन व र ननम तत ह wa-ˈinna ʿalaykum la-ḥāfiẓīna

15 م ر ام ا م ات ب ن ١١ noble writers باعز ت جو لکھےن والے ہیں प रनतक ष ठत मरवऩक kirāman kātibīna

16 ف ع ل ون ع ل م ون م ا ت ١٢ who know whatever you do. تمہارے وہ اعمال کو خوب جاهےت ہیں व ज न यह ह त ह ज क छ ब त भ र ग कयत ह yaʿlamūna mā tafʿalūna

17 ع ف ب ر ار ل ي ه م ١٣ إ ن اال Indeed the pious shall be amid bliss, بے شک لوگ هیک هعمتوں میں ہوں گے ननस स द ह वफ द य र ग न भत भ ह ग ˈinna l-ˈabrāra la-fī naʿīmin

18 ج ار و إ ن ال ف ف ج ح م ل ي ١٤ and indeed the vicious shall be in hell اور بدکار افراد جہوم میں ہوں گے औय ननश चम ह द य च य बडकत ह ई आग भ wa-ˈinna l-fuǧǧāra la-fī ǧaḥīmin

19 ص ل و ه ه ا و م الد ن ١٥ entering it on the Day of Retribution, وہ روز جزا اصی میں جھوهک دیےئ جائیں گے क जसभ व फदर क ददन प रव श कय ग yaṣlawnahā yawma d-dīni

20 و م ا ه م ع و ه ا ب غ ائ ب ن ١٦ and they shall not be absent from it. اور وہ اس صے کر بچ هہ جاصکیں گے औय उसस व ओझर नह ह ग wa-mā hum ʿanhā bi-ġāˈibīna

21 ر اك م و م ا و م الد ن ١٧ ا ا د And what will show you what is the Day of Retribution? اور تم کیا جاهو کہ جزا کا دن کیا شے ےہ औय त म ह तम भ र भ कक फदर क ददन तम ह? wa-mā ˈadrāka mā yawmu d-dīni

22 ر اك م ث م م ا و م الد ن ١٨ ا ا د Again, what will show you what is the Day of Retribution? پھر تمہیں کیا معلوم کہ جزا کا دن کیشا ہوتا ےہ कपय त म ह तम भ र भ कक फदर क ददन तम ह? ṯumma mā ˈadrāka mā yawmu d-dīni

23 م ل ك ه ال ت و م ه ل م ر و م ئ ذ ل ف س ل و ف س ش ئ و اال ١٩ It is a day when no soul will be of any avail to another soul and all command that day will belong to Allah. اس دن کوئی کشی کے هہ اختیار کوئی میں بارے رکھتا ہوگا اور صارا اختیار هللا کے ہاتھوں میں ہوگا क जस ददन क ई व मक तत ककस व मक तत क मरए ककस च ज क अधधक य न ह ग, भ भर उस ददन अल र ह ह क ह थ भ ह ग yawma lā tamliku nafsun li-nafsin šayˈan wa-l-ˈamru yawmaˈiḏin li-llāhi
