3 Acorn Class This week we have been looking at the story of the nativity and practicing really hard to learn all the songs for the school performance next week. We also have a new seating areas in the back of the garden which we managed to get from the tree surgeons who were cutting down one of the local trees across the road. This has proved to be very exciting and a great place to sit and talk about all the things we like doing in the garden. Oak Class Oak Class are really enjoying singing and performing the actions for the KS1 and EYFS nativity next week. We have been learning about the reason Christians celebrate Christmas by retelling the story of Jesus' birth. We have also been sharing our own Christmas stories and family traditions at this time of year. Willow Class Willow class have been very busy rehearsing our Nativity performance ready for next week. We are all very excited! We have also been thinking about people that are less fortunate than us and writting special Christmas prayers for those people. Chestnut Class Chestnut class have enjoyed writing their recounts of 'The Silver Sword', using ambitious language & knowledge of the story. The children have also enjoyed learning about how to add and subtract with fractions! Ash Class Ash Class has been getting to grips with solving missing number problems in Maths, writing about wild things in English and making some lovely Winter art linked to our Science seasons' topic. Sycamore Class Sycamore have loved filming their original screenplays of Perseus and Medusa and are very excited about tomorrows World Premiere and Oscars ceremony! In Science we have really enjoyed making circuits with bulbs, buzzers and switches and learning all about how electricity is made and transported from power stations to our houses. In maths we have worked extremely hard to solve problems in a systematic way... phew, Cedar Class Cedar Class have spent this week learning about religion. We have been learning about Hannukah, making Subha bracelets and writing about how Mary and the Shepherds felt when Angel Gabriel appeared. We have also been practising our silent tableau ready for out Nativity show next week. We look forward to seeing you all there. Beech Class Beech have been busy finishing Clockwork by Philip Pullman and are ready to write their own versions... It was a very gripping story! In maths, we've been getting to grips with angles and using protractors to measure and draw them. We have also produced some amazing Tudor Portraits, where we really focused on the proportions of people's faces. A very busy fortnight!
