1 Jesus is condemned to death: John 19: 8-11, 16 Jesus is made to carry the cross: Hebrews 12: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid, 9 and he went back inside the palace. Where do you come from? he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. 10 Do you refuse to speak to me? Pilate said. Don t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you? 11 Jesus answered, You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin. 16 Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.

2 Jesus meets his mother: Luke 2: Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too. Jesus falls under the weight of the cross: Mark 15: The soldiers led Jesus away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and called together the whole company of soldiers. 17 They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him. 18 And they began to call out to him, Hail, king of the Jews! 19 Again and again they struck him on the head with a staff and spit on him. Falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. 20 And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple robe and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him.

3 Simon of Cyrene carries the cross: Luke 23:6 26 As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus. Jesus face wiped by Veronica: Matthew 5:7 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.

4 Jesus tells the women of Jerusalem not to mourn for him: Luke 23: A large number of people followed him, including women who mourned and wailed for him. 28 Jesus turned and said to them, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For the time will come when you will say, Blessed are the childless women, the wombs that never bore and the breasts that never nursed! 30 Then they will say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover us! 31 For if people do these things when the tree is green, what will happen when it is dry? Jesus is stripped of his garments: Matthew27: When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. 36 And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. 37 Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

5 Jesus is nailed to the cross: Luke 23: When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals one on his right, the other on his left. 34 Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Jesus dies upon the cross: John 19:30 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, It is finished. With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

6 Jesus body is taken down from the cross: Mark 15: Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, [a] and Salome. 41 In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there. Jesus body is laid in the tomb: Mark 15: It was Preparation Day (that is, the day before the Sabbath). So as evening approached, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus body. 44 Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. 45 When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph. 46 So Joseph bought some linen cloth, took down the body, wrapped it in the linen, and placed it in a tomb cut out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb.
