Stewards can help you find your way around our building if you need assistance. Toy bags are available to borrow from the sideboard in the front foyer if you feel your children would appreciate them during the service. Children & Young People have their own groups part way through the morning service. Crèche facilities are available. A special warm welcome to the family and friends of Matt & Rachel Curren who have come today to witness their baptism and to thank God for the gift of their three sons. 2 PRAYER LETTERS Andy & Naomi have sent us their latest information please look on the table in church. The latest letters from Andy & Helena Moxon and family, Gani & Adele Smolica & André & Julie Bailey can be found in the prayer letters folders in the main foyer if you haven t already picked up a copy. Welcome Team: We have now set up a more formal Welcome Team for our Sunday morning services. Their work is NOT to do all the welcoming but to facilitate a church culture in which everyone is keen to identify, welcome and help any newcomers to the church. Please do speak to them if you need any information or help for people you encounter. They are: Ian & Dawn Mansfield, Malcom & Colleen Brown, Phyllis Northcott, Mandy Thomas, Tim Rosier, George Tripp, Jane Mason and Philippa Gunn. The New congregation elders are meeting on Tuesday evening. Esther Gunn s wedding Tim & Philippa Gunn plan to be in the church building from 7p.m. this Wednesday to do some extra cleaning in preparation of their daughter s wedding on Saturday. If anyone would like to join them to give an extra hand they would be absolutely delighted! Meanwhile Esther & Pete are getting married on Saturday at 12.30p.m. and it would be lovely to see any church members at the service. A date for your diaries Wednesday 6 April we meet together in prayer at the church at 7.45p.m. Although it s the school holidays still, the good news is that God never goes on holiday and He is able to hear our prayers any day, at any time! Bereavement Support Group The group will met on Thursday 7 April at 7.30pm. Any adult who is experiencing grief and bereavement through the death of a loved one, or good friend, or through some other significant loss (redundancy, separation, divorce etc.) is welcome to come along. The evening is free and will finish by 9pm. Anyone coming is welcome to bring another adult along to accompany them if they would like to do so. Love Allestree? Love Allestree! Love Allestree is an initiative from Allestree Churches Together for us to do something positive for our neighbourhood and community and there will be a litter pick on Saturday 9 April starting at 9.30, in the Allestree Rec., meeting in the car park. 3 We shall soon be starting a new Christianity Explored course. There will be 7 sessions on Mondays on the following dates: 9, 16, 23 May, 6, 13, 27 June and 4 July. There are invitations which you can use to invite people to. Please let Tim Gunn know if you or any of your friends are interested in coming along. LOOSE LEAVES items for the next edition need to be given to Andy Brown by Sunday 10 April. Holidays Tim Gunn is on holiday from Friday 1 to Sunday 10 April inclusive. Phil Butcher is on annual leave from Monday 4 Sunday 10 April inclusive. Thiago Holanda is on leave from Monday 28 March to Friday 8 April inclusive. The next Church family picnic will be held on Sunday 10 April due to the Easter holidays. Remember to bring along your sandwiches to eat as you share fellowship with one another! SPRING GIFT DAY Our total from last week is and we can claim an additional 1409 from gift aided donations. If you still want to give put your offering in a suitably marked envelope and either put it in one of our offertory boxes or give it to Sue Smith, our treasurer alternatively you can give by online donation. Pudding Club The next meeting is planned for Friday 22 April when Lisa Turner from Christians in Sport will speak on A Healthy Heart? A list to sign up for catering purposes can be found on the table in church. Ladies who are you going to invite to this event? Invitations are now available. Our annual Spring Clean morning will be held on Saturday 23 April from 9am. Many hands make light work. Our building is heavily used during the week and it is important to have it looking good and welcoming to visitors. Our spring clean helps to clean corners that don t get done that frequently. Also we can spend extra time tidying shelves and cupboards. And there is the outside area that needs smartening up. There are jobs for all the family, so please make every effort to come along even if it s only for an hour. Remember, in prayer, the team who went out last Friday from our church to work in Kosova, for a week. Pray for safety, encouragement and energy whilst there. In addition there will be morning sessions on each day, where Lee will speak on the same subject as in the evening. The morning meetings will be held at Christchurch, Great Northern Rd, Derby DE1 1LR, from 10:00am with refreshments, with the main meeting from 10:30 11:45 am. This will include singing, book reviews, videos etc., so no-one needs to feel that they are missing out in any way.
