1 MINISTRY INFORMATION CHILDREN S MINISTRY SILENT PAGING: We have a digital silent paging system for our parents. If your child gets sick or needs immediate attention from you during the service, your coupon number will be flashed on the display monitors located in both front corners and rear of the Main Sanctuary, on the left hand corner of the Multi-Purpose Room, and on the left hand corner of the Overflow Room. Please respond to the silent page as soon as you notice your child s coupon number. HEARING DEVICES: If you have a hearing impairment and need assistance with hearing during the services, we have hearing devices that are available at the Welcome Center to check out and use during the service. These hearing devices are available with head phones or ear buds and can be used anywhere in the sanctuary. SERVANT S HEART: Our desire is to pray for and comfort the afflicted, and to provide spiritual guidance from the Word of God through hospital and home visitations. Please call the Church Office at (310) to schedule a visitation or leave a prayer request. BIBLICAL INSTRUCTION: The Biblical Instruction Ministry (Christian Counseling) is available for those who desire to seek a biblical viewpoint and direction to their lives. The pastoral staff of Calvary Chapel South Bay is available Monday Friday from 10:00 AM 4:30 PM. Please call the Church Office to schedule a session with a pastor. MEDIA: Audio and video recordings are made of all main services. Free CDs are available immediately after each service at the Resource Corner (DVDs are available for free by placing order through the Bookstore). Our services are designed primarily for adults, so we ask that you would take your children to the classes offered in the Children s Ministry. Children ten years and older are permitted in the Main Sanctuary and Multi-Purpose Room when accompanied by a parent. We hope to adequately minister to you and your children on a personal level. 6 ANNOUNCEMENTS Wonderful Impossibilities - Christmas 2017 When God intends to make something wonderful, He begins with a difficulty. When He intends to make something very wonderful, He begins with an impossibility. Former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Coggan Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) Perhaps you have received or sent a Christmas card with the phrase, Christ is born. Have you ever really thought about that phrase? The birth of Jesus was not just a difficulty it was an impossibility. Mary, the wife of Joseph, was a virgin. Only an encounter with God could create life into her womb. Just as God caused her to conceive the perfect sinless Savior fully God, fully human, He can accomplish through and for you, those things that seem to be impossible in your life. Perhaps your life has been filled with the seemingly impossible this year. Jesus can handle your impossibilities too! The Prophet Isaiah wrote that Jesus would be born into a human family as man and yet also a gift to mankind as God s Son given to us as a gift that we might have eternal life. This is the Christmas Story. For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 The Babe in the manger is also the Mighty God. Do you feel helpless in a confused, hectic and angry world? Are you carrying a heavy burden that is too heavy for you alone to carry? The Mighty God is your strength. There is nothing that He cannot carry out no task too large, no care too small. He is able to deliver all who put their trust in Him. The Son who was given leads you to an Eternal Father. Do you feel orphaned? Do you feel like no one cares? Do you feel insecure or lost? Jesus is the one who will always love you, and is always concerned and completely committed to what is truly best for you. Our Heavenly Father will never leave you or forsake you. He loves you eternally with a father s undying love. It is Jesus, the Prince of Peace, who can give you deep inner peace. Do you need a lifeboat for stormy days? Let Him be your Prince and He will be your peace. That baby born 2017 years ago Jesus Is God s gift of love to mankind. Trusting Him is the only sure way to have a truly blessed Christmas! (Doors open 45 minutes prior to the start of the program.) This year we will have a special Christmas program that you won t want to miss. There will be two showings of the program. Christ Is Born - A Christmas Experience is a wonderful event for all ages. Invite your unsaved family and friends to this powerful, immersive experience as we remember Christ s birth through scripture, music and visual art. Immediately following the program, please join us in the Kids Courtyard for a time of fellowship and refreshments. Children s Ministry not provided. Nursing Mothers Room open. Christmas Celebration Saturday, December 23rd, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Kids Courtyard, Fellowship Hall and Patio. Join us for our Christmas Celebration! It will be a festive and fun Christmas event for the whole family! Enjoy The Charles Dickens Carolers as they sing traditional Christmas songs. There will be fire pits to warm yourself by as you toast marshmallows and hot beverages and Christmas cookies will be served in the Kids Courtyard. We will also have a snow play area in the Patio for the kids to frolic in. Invite your family and friends and enjoy a day of Christmas cheer as we look forward to the advent of our Lord and Savior s birth. It will be a joyous occasion! Immediately following the festivities, join us in the Main Sanctuary at 3:00 PM for the second showing of our Christmas program, Christ Is Born - A Christmas Experience. This is a community outreach event, so please invite your unsaved family and friends. Our prayer is that many will come to know Jesus this Christmas season. Come celebrate New Year s Eve with us as Pastor Jeff shares an encouraging message and join us as we partake in Communion together as the family of God. Children s Ministry provided. Join us for a special evening with Josh McDowell wellknown author and speaker. He will be taking us on a spiritual adventure through history, archaeology and antiquities, which will satisfy your mind and soul about the reliability of the Bible. You will be able to touch AND photograph the 500-year-old Lodz Torah, learn how these ancient scrolls were preserved and see manuscript fragments that were hidden for over 1600 years!
