Professor Jane Shaw *Service with Communion Summer Theology Discussion Series Today, July 16 and July 23, July 30, August 6, August 13 Join us for the inaugural session of the discussion series following University Public Worship (UPW). In this series, we will explore the readings used in the service, probing their consonance in the day s sermon, the historical and theological theories regarding the original meaning and context of the passages, and their in life in the 21st century. The discussion will be led by congregant Anne Hill. The text of the readings will be provided. We will meet in the Round Room, following UPW. He has taught at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and at the New College, Berkeley. He has also worked as an organ builder, and has supervised the extensive restoration efforts of the organs of the First United Methodist Church of Palo Alto. Offerings today by cash and check are in support of the Chaplaincy Program Fund at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. They will be received at the main doors after today's service. Please make checks payable to Lucile Packard Foundation. The interfaith Chaplaincy Service at Packard provides spiritual support for a religiously and culturally diverse population of patients. This Fund directly supports the spiritual care needs of hospitalized children, pregnant women, and their families.
