Its purpose was to keep parishioners informed and to help them through prayer, the daily Mass and the Rosary. Radio Maria began broadcasting from its fi rst English-speaking station on May 25, 2000 in Alexandria, LA 2015 promises a great year for Radio Maria! As we enter 2015, we look back with deep gratitude for the past year and with great hope and enthusiasm for the year ahead. Like any family, we have changed and grown this past year in many ways. Our new website, which went live in September, offers more opportunities for interaction between our listeners and Our Lady s radio. Our presence on social media -- like Facebook and Twitter -- is being promoted with more frequent posts. We now have a fund-raising team in place in New York, which will hopefully help make it possible to bring our Catholic ministry to more people in the world. We developed several new programs this past year and continue to seek out new topics for programs in the future. We have been working to update our Christian music and to improve the over-all production quality of our broadcast, with new equipment, both in studio and at our transmitters. All of this is because of your generosity and with the assistance from our World Family team. Much of this work was long overdue, and we still have much work to do. In the coming year, we will ask for your on-going support to help us meet some new goals and to complete some projects already begun. Our main priority for 2015 will be to improve and update our equipment throughout the network. Also in 2015, Radio Maria US will celebrate its 15th anniversary! It s hard to believe that just 15 years ago we started with just this one small station in Alexandria, La. and are now broadcasting over 11 stations and streaming on the internet all over the world! Truly, the Word is going out to all the earth! Stay tuned: 2015 promises to be the best year yet for Radio Maria US. May God bless you and your loved ones throughout the year. 2 With the New Year upon us, I take this opportunity to thank you all and in a particular way, our director, our board members, and all of the staff and volunteers, for making 2014 another successful year. I would also like to especially thank all those who have supported Radio Maria with their donations and prayers. As we continue to strive to spread Radio Maria throughout the United States, it is only made possible through your continued support and prayers. I know that many of you are losing hope because around you, you see suffering, pain, jealousy, envy... But, I am your mother. I am in the Kingdom but am also here with you. My Son is sending me anew to help you. Therefore, do not lose hope, instead, follow me - because the victory of my heart is in the name of God. My beloved Son is thinking of you as He has always thought of you. Believe Him and live Him. He is the Life of the world. My children, to live my Son means to live the Gospel. This is not easy. This means love, forgiveness and sacrifice. This purifies and it opens the Kingdom. Sincere prayer, which is not only words but is a prayer which the heart speaks, will help you. Likewise fasting (will help you), because it is still more of love, forgiveness and sacrifice. Therefore, do not lose hope but follow me. I am imploring you anew to pray for your shepherds so that they may always look to my Son who was the first Shepherd of the world and whose family was the entire world. Thank you. Dec. 25, 2014 Message to Marija Dear children! Also today, in my arms I am carrying my Son Jesus to you and I am asking from Him peace for you and peace among you. Pray to and adore my Son for His peace and joy to enter into your hearts. I am praying for you to be all the more open to prayer. Thank you for having responded to my call. Dec. 25, 2014 Message to Jakov At the last daily apparition to Jakov Colo on Sept. 12, 1998, Our Lady told him that henceforth he would have one apparition per year, every December 25th, on Christmas Day. This is also how it was this year. The apparition began at 2:40 pm and lasted 8 minutes. Afterwards Jakov transmitted the following message: Dear children! Today, on this day of grace, I desire for each of your hearts to become a little stable of Bethlehem in which the Savior of the world was born. I am your mother who loves you immeasurably and is concerned for each of you. Therefore, my children, abandon yourselves to the mother, so that she may place each of your hearts and lives before little Jesus; because only in this way, my children, your hearts will be witnesses of God s daily birth in you. Permit God to illuminate your lives with light and your hearts with joy, so that you may daily illuminate the way and be an example of true joy to others who live in darkness and are not open to God and His graces. Thank you for having responded to my call. Note: These messages are not yet recognized by the Catholic Church as having a supernatural origin.

He was introduced to Radio Maria in late 2000 when there was a need for someone to fill in for a departing employee within a short time. Frank comes from a long background of radio, having grown up spending many hours in and around radio stations with his father, a broadcast engineer. Before beginning his work at Radio Maria, Frank was heavily involved in ministry teams in the Frank diocese of Alexandria volunteering his knowledge of sound equipment and recording, a work he continues to this day. As the Production Manager, Frank oversees the production department and all of the technical and logistical work that goes into getting the radio signal from the microphones to the radio transmitters. Frank s work also extends into all things technical in the workings of Radio Maria. Whether it be building and maintaining the website, repairing computers and equipment or changing light bulbs, Frank is always there to help Our Lady s radio in any way he can.

4 New Program: Faith and Fitness Hosted by Dr. John Acquaviva Mondays: 1 pm (CST) 2 pm EST) A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION. Father Robert Young celebrated a special Christmas celebration Mass at the home of the Abreo family recently. The family celebrated the First Holy Communion of Rachel Ann Abreo and the wedding anniversary of Gerry and Nicole Abreo, members of our Radio Maria family in Clear Lake, Texas Live coverage of Life March in Washington Jan We are happy to announce that once again, Radio Maria will be bringing you live coverage from the March for Life in Washington, D.C. this year. Our Midwest Regional President, Mary Pyper will be hosting interviews and updates on the events during the days of Jan The second day, Jan. 22, will be the day of the March and will be covered live from the Capitol Mall. Our own Anne McGlone (from Anne and Anna ) will also be there, reporting for the Catholic Medical Association as well. She invites all to visit their website for invaluable information about the March and about all issues pertaining to the right to life from a Catholic view point: A schedule of the live broadcasts will be announced closer to the event. Program of the Month: Beyond the Veil Hosted by Fr. Thomas Loya Tuesdays: 10 am (CST) 11 am EST) Beyond the Veil, hosted by Fr. Thomas Loya, brings the breath of the other lung to Radio Maria on Tuesdays, at 10:00 a.m. Central/11:00 a.m. Eastern. Fr. Loya is a well known pastor in the Byzantine Catholic Church and international speaker who shares his faith in the One Catholic Church from the perspective of the Eastern Catholic Rite. Beginning on Monday, January 12, 2015, Radio Maria will bring to the airwaves a unique program hosted by Dr. John Acquaviva, titled Faith and Fitness. Dr. Acquaviva is an exercise physiologist, holding a PhD in exercise science and currently teaching at Wingate University in North Carolina. Over the years, he has given hundreds of energetic presentations to Catholic Church adult congregations, youth groups and campus ministries. His book, Improving Your Body Image Through Catholic Teaching was fi rst available in March, 2014, and went to the #1 bestseller list in April, Dr. Acquaviva will bring the Theology of the Body to health and fi tness, discussing a variety of related topics to assist listeners in their attempts to lose weight, improve fi t- ness, and improve body image all framed within the concept that the human body is one of God s greatest gifts to us.
