8 ARCHBISHOP THOMAS J. MURPHY AWARD Each year, the International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC) confers the Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy Award to a parish for its outstanding work in Christian stewardship formation. This year, we, Good Shepherd Catholic Church, have been chosen as the winners of the Archbishop Murphy Award! This is truly a remarkable honor for our parish, especially when one considers that there are more than 17,000 Catholic parishes in the United States! From October 2-5, Father Tom and a small group of staff will be in New Orleans at the ICSC annual meeting to receive this prestigious award on behalf of our parishioners. We also will present a workshop that tells our story as an example of how we reflect our gratitude to God for His blessings by living a life of responsible stewardship. As our parish humbly receives recognition for the extraordinary generosity of one and all, may each one of us say, thanks be to God, and may we always be grateful for our Good Shepherd parish community, the community we are blessed to call our family of faith!...today, may we be grateful for this gift, and share it generously in our future, as those who have come before us have handed it on to us.
