THE RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD April 21, :00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Oh sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things! -Psalm 98:1a AS WE GATHER Easters come and go, and it seems that little changes. Or does it? What we sing and celebrate today is already ours. We were baptized into His death and raised with Christ to new and everlasting life. Easter is the celebration not only of Christ s victory but also of our own victory in Christ Jesus, our Savior. Christ is risen, and we with Him. It is a victory already ours but not yet fully complete in us. Part of Christian life is seeing who we are and the life we live in the context of the baptismal miracle of new identity and new life that we have been given. Every day we grasp this gift by faith and remember it is for me. We wear a new name and are heirs of an eternal victory and a life that death cannot overcome. How might our lives change if we lived out this glorious Easter truth more than one day a year? We confess before You our selfishness, our doubt, our pride, our anger, and all our sins. We repent, and we are truly sorry for all we have done to offend or disobey You. Pastor: The Holy Gospel according to St. John, the 20th chapter. 1 Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2 So she ran and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him. 3 So Peter went out with the other disciple, and they were going toward the tomb. 4 Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5 And stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb. COFFEE CRUSADE - crusade (kroo-seyd): noun any vigorous, aggressive movement for the defense or advancement of any idea or cause. Perhaps aggressive may be a bit over-the-top, but a vigorous movement toward the idea of coffee and donuts definitely puts a smile on one's face! Please check out the hospitality tasks and procedure sheets located on the Welcome Center counter and consider participating on any Sunday convenient for your schedule. *** Thank you to those who have volunteered an extra 15 minutes on Sunday to help setup, refresh

24 or clean up after our refreshments. Many hands make light work - and caffeine/sugar-filled friends! 24 A wheelchair has been placed in the coat closet in the Narthex. It s purpose is to make it easier for those with cardiac, respiratory, or other problems to get to the bathrooms at the end of the hall or to make access to any part of the church easier for them. This wheelchair is not to leave church property so it is available for anyone who may need it in the building or parking lot area for transport. There is another wheelchair, several walkers, and wheeled walkers in the Medical Lending Closet for the convenience of anyone in the congregation who may need to borrow them for short term use at home. Anyone who has a light weight transport type wheelchair that they would like to donate to the Lending Closet, please see Jean Tichnell. Concordia serves four states and provides three Worship Services every Sunday in addition to other Ministries and activities. Communication is a challenge! There are enough mailboxes for everyone who desires a mailbox to have one. It is our most used form of giving and receiving communication. and Facebook are also used to help inform everyone of activities and events.
