Seltz. God cares about you, listens to you, and answers your difficult questions with grace and compassion. (Habakkuk 1:1-; :1-) October 9 - "Lord, Give Me What I Need -- Give Me Faith!" Seltz. You don't have to settle for what the world hands you. You can live by faith in the LUTHERANS FOR LIFE October 0th Sunday after Pentecost (Proper ) Heavenly Father has both ability and affinity for working mightily through seemingly insignificant and even apparently contrary situations. Humble faith (Luke 17:5; Timothy 1:5), conversational testifying ( Timothy 1:8), servant tasks (Luke 17:10), and suffering itself (Habakkuk 1:-; Timothy 1:1) like broken-bodied Jesus bring life and immortality to light ( Timothy 1:10). Almighty Maker, establish us in Your simple truth that we may witness and participate in Your miraculous acts. Amen. October 9 1st Sunday after Pentecost (Proper ) Jesus Gospel gives us God as Father and a whole family as well. True faith and real joy recognize and receive Your people [as] my people (Ruth 1:16-17), witnesses who sympathize and strengthen us ( Timothy :), however impaired or dependent they may be (Luke 17:1-1). Good Son of God who heals, forgives, and restores. (Luke 17:11-19) October 16 - "Know This Word --Your Life Depends on It" Seltz. The Bible provides a strategy for survival in an uncertain world. It can break hearts of stone and replace them with living hearts open to God's truth. ( Timothy :16) October - "Running the Race of Faith" Shepherd, lead us to love Your people as You love us through them. Amen. October 16 nd Sunday after Pentecost (Proper ) We remain patient and persistent (Luke 18:1, 5) in rebuking the culture of death and in comforting all its victims with Words from God ( Timothy :16-:). Compassion will overcome selfishness, wrestling will give way to blessing (Genesis :5-6), and hurt will meet healing because God does not deal with us like a gruff judge but as a loving and victorious Savior (Luke 18:6-8). Risen Lord, accompany and sustain us under Your cross with Your promises. Amen. October rd Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 5) Heaven and earth grieve every life ended by another (Genesis :10). Worse yet is believing ourselves any better than murderers (Luke 18:11-1). Lord God regards all as Seltz. Because Christ has already won the victory for us, our race of faith is worth the struggle of the run. ( Timothy :6-8) October 0 - "The Best Bequest" Speaker Emeritus: Rev. Dr. Ken Klaus. A legacy of faith is the best bequest, giving the gift of Jesus to those who come after you. (Luke 1:19-1) precious as little babies, and His Son s forgiving Word and works of faith rescue from death s mouth ( Timothy :17) when tempted (Genesis :7) and from hell s mouth when guilty (Genesis :15). Merciful Father, intervene that we may be saved and safe from death and hell. Amen. October 0 th Sunday after Pentecost (Proper 6) Jesus didn t disregard Zacchaeus due to his stature (Luke 19:-5). So God doesn t cast us off because of our sins against life (Isaiah 1:18). His salvation would dwell (Luke 19:9) in every beating heart until His grace displaces selfish decisions crowding (Luke 19:) and persecuting us ( Thessalonians 1:) and relieves afflictions (Luke 1:7) by restoring more than fourfold (Luke 19:8). Gracious God, make us receive even the helpless as Your children and suffering as Your gift.

3 PRAISE & PRAYERS WORSHIP SUPPORT Page Although much pain persists for Jo and Ed they thank the Lord as He continues to strengthen them and give them relief from the pain so they can use their gifts in His service. Corinthians 9:1-1 Ed & Jo again thank the Lord for all His blessings. Corinthians 9:1-1 Tom C gives thanks and praises God for the blessing of 50 years of Christian marriage for his brother, Bob, & his wife Sue. Chron 5:1 Barb E requests prayer to the Lord to grant safe travel from Prague for her sister, Chris and her husband, Bob. Psalm 5:11-1 Silvia N prays to God for all people that they would accept Jesus as Lord & Savior & to know God s peace in their heart for eternity. John :16-18 Marge F requests prayer to the Lord for her daughter, Amy that the Lord would grant a successful surgery on Tuesday September 7th; also for her daughter Barb s vision to continue to improve. 1 Peter 5:10 Robbie M requests prayer for her husband, Jim, that God would grant him relief from pain in his eyes; Jim is going blind. Matthew 9:7-0 Candace R requests prayer to the Lord for her neighbor, Kelly, that He would restore her mental and physical health. Psalm 1:1- Kirsten A requests prayer that God would restore the health of her grandfather, Arnold A, who is currently in the hospital. Psalm 71:19-1 Gerri C requests prayer that the Lord would bless her son, Jason with patience, encouragement, a positive attitude as he is searching a new job. Romans 8:-7 Pray for John, that God would relieve his pain as he is struggling with several health issues. Psalm 8:6-8 Connie S requests prayer that the Lord would provide health and strength to the hands of Michelle S in order for her to continue to work. Matthew 1:1 David and Gina give thanks to the Lord for His blessings as they celebrate their 17th wedding anniversary. Psalm 89:15-17 Ken and Dorothy thank the Lord that Ken s lung cancer has been removed. Psalm 51:10-1 Connie S thanks God for the blessings He has bestowed on Silvia and Yesenia S. 1 Thes 5:16-18 Silvia N requests prayer that the Lord would bless her friend, Lupita M, and the birth of her unborn daughter, that the baby would be born healthy. Mark 10:1-16 Silvia N requests prayer for Francisco Sr. that God would open his heart, his eyes and ears and come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Psalm 67:1- Charline N requests prayer to the Lord for her friend Mary and family as they mourn the passing of her husband after a long battle with cancer. Revelation 1:- David B requests prayer that God would provide relief from pain for Beth M, his friend. She is suffering from kidney and l i v e r f a i l u r e a n d a l s o h a s pneumonia. Psalm 119:9-51 Pray for Jonathan, that the Lord would be merciful to him and break the chains of his dependency on drugs. John 8:-6 Lisa Y requests prayer that God would intercede on behalf of her friend, Esther, who is having troubles in her marriage. Romans 1:9-1 Donna M requests prayer for the Lord to provide relief from pain and suffering for her husband, Mick. Psalm 69:9-0 Tom C requests prayer that God would heal him from the soreness and blisters on his feet as a result from the chemotherapy. Psalm 0:1- Connie S and her daughter, Silvia, praise the Lord for His healing touch as she is cancer free. Jeremiah 17:1 Silvia N requests prayer that God would bless her and her daughter, Katie, that these recent tests will indicate no medical problems. Jeremiah :6 We pray to the Lord to guide this country giving us leaders who truly love the Lord, grounded in His word and are willing to serve Him. 1 Corinthians :10-1 Gerri C continues to give thanks and praise to God for the blessings upon her son Jason. Psalm 150 Kayla thanks God as she celebrates her 18th birthday. Psalm 71:5-8 Jerry F thanks the Lord for the blessings bestowed on his friend, Ron M; requests for continued progress regarding his chemotherapy. OCTOBER 8, Revelation: Lesson Christians Locked on a Collision Course. At the beginning, Christianity was tolerated within the Roman Empire and the apostles were free to share their faith from place to place. To be sure, persecution flared up in spots, but generally there was peace. But over the years the Roman emperors came to see Christian values and beliefs as a threat to their goals and purposes. This lesson we will learn about the Great Prostitute. OCTOBER, We will continue our study on Revelation with Lesson titled Proceed with Caution. God gave the message of Revelation particularly for Christians who were wondering where God was and why wasn t He protecting His children from those who were persecuting them? In Revelation 19:11-1 He reminded them the day of their vindication was drawing hear. Indeed, the cavalry was coming.
