In this two-part flyover of the New Testament, we will explore each book s promise and challenge for our call to do the work of the ministry: to make Christ and his redemptive love known where we live, and work, and worship, and to interpret to the Church the needs, concerns, and hopes of the world. Mapping Your Ministry taught by The Reverend Danielle Morris How does the gospel intersect with the world? Is the church a dead end, a rest stop, or a scenic route? How do your brokenness and giftedness combine to fuel your ministry? This course, drawing from 2 Corinthians, is designed to be practical, challenge you, and help you articulate your unique calling and commitment. Saturday, February 25 New Testament Survey-Part 2 taught by The Reverend Reggie Kidd Homiletics taught by The Reverend Rob Goodridge There s only one place in our 21st century culture, where people get cleaned up, hop into their cars, on their day off, drive several miles, walk into a building, and sit silently for 15 minutes listening to someone speak about important issues: The Sunday Sermon. This class will reveal exciting ways to creat meaningful, biblical, proclamations of faith without watching parishioners check messages on their phones. Live class days begin with Morning Prayer at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 3:30 p.m. Breaks are scheduled during the morning and afternoon, during which coffee is available. There is a 45-minute lunch break. Cost $35 per day (non-credit) or $45 per day (ICS credit). Classes are held at the Diocesan Office, 1017 E. Robinson Street, Orlando, FL REGISTER ONLINE or call The Ven. Kristi Alday, Dean at (407) x303 or (800) x 303 MORE information at:

2 Brotherhood of St. Andrew to meet at Camp Wingmann, Saturday February 11th The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is an international body committed to the spread of Christ's Kingdom among men and boys. Many of our diocesan chapters are seeking direction in areas of service and outreach and do not have strong communication ties with other chapters in the diocese. The Brotherhood of St. Andrew is sponsoring an organizational meeting on Saturday, February 11, 2017, beginning at 9 a.m.at Camp Wingmann, 3401 N. Camp Wingmann Rd., Avon Park, FL Saturday morning begins with breakfast and prayer. Business will conclude at approximately 3:00 p.m. Cost is $20.00 for the day which includes breakfast and lunch. The primary objectives of this gathering are: Give chapters an opportunity to talk of their outreach and visions. Provide information and support to parishes considering creating a chapter. Preparation for participation in a Regional Conference to be held locally later in the year. Create an Assembly. The Operational Manual explains the Assembly has two purposes: (1) It maintains a direct relationship with the National Brotherhood of St. Andrew and to the work of the Brotherhood in the area in which the Assembly is organized. (2) It provides local support to the chapters within the area it serves. It will require electing officers and a board to serve the Assembly. Don our tool belts and take on a service project to help enhance the Camp Wingmann campus. For those wanting to stay at Camp Wingmann overnight Friday, February 10, there is an additional $25.00 cost ($45.00 total). Beginning at 7:00 p.m. there will be a social gathering with pizza and refreshments. Overnight guests are responsible for bringing their own bedding. Please R.S.V.P. by Monday, February 6 th to The Rev. Ed Bartle, Diocesan Coordinator, at: ebbartle@aol.com or Call: This will be a great opportunity to meet with other men around the diocese who want to serve God and community. Earth to God Diocesan Youth Event with Bishop Brewer, February 24 & 25 Join other middle school and high school youth for Earth to God with Bishop Greg Brewer at Camp Wingmann. Event begins Friday, February 24 th at 7 p.m. concludes Saturday, February 25 th at 3 p.m. Cost $45. To register, make a check out to the Diocese of Central Florida and Send to: Steve Schneeberger, 142 E. Jackson Street, Orlando, FL Register by February 20 th. Clergy Day Tuesday, February 28 th at Canterbury Conference Center The Clergy Events Committee is hosting a Clergy Day led by Jay Haug, a former Episcopal priest and Dr. Drew Edwards, an expert in clinical addiction research, on Tuesday, February 28 th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Canterbury Retreat & Conference Center, 1601 N. Alafaya Trail, Oviedo, One of the most disturbing aspects of the internet is the dramatic increase in lust-driven activity among men, women and young people. Clergy are often the first phone call made when someone gets fired from work due to porn use, or a spouse delivers an ultimatum in a marriage or a child is discovered using online porn. How are we to help those who struggle? What does the gospel say about the problem and the solution? How can clergy become a helpful resource to those who struggle? Most importantly, how can we give hope to those with long-term issues? We will hear from someone who has struggled with lust and pornography and has now found sobriety, hope and a way ahead. We will hear about human brain chemistry and the ways we can make it work for us rather than against us. Finally, we will explore how the gospel speaks to this problem and how clergy can provide real, practical help to those who come to us. We will provide plenty of time for interaction. Copies of Jay Haug's book The Rest of God, Finding Freedom from Lust in the Internet Age will be available for a special conference price of $10. Cost is $25.00 and includes lunch Register by calling Sue Grosso at or online at canterburyretreat.org
