1 Sunday 27 th November Pastors Wenceslao Manila and Salvador Espante write from the Philippines Hello IMM family, Shalom to everyone through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We're glad to share with you about God's wonderful work here in the Philippines. Glory to God we were able to visit twice to our mine site in July As usual there were more or less 6 to 8 miners who just have a regular attendance. As usual some other miners were having to work. Monday 28 th November Pastors Wenceslao and Salvador in the Philippines tell that the owner of the mine where they minister, wants them to contact him before they visit so that he can prepare himself to be there also. He wants them to prepare some songs of praise, before the Bible sharing. Last time he said that he is planning to build a small cottage for a Bible study centre for all the miners. Praise God! Tuesday 29 th November IMM Asia-Pacific-supported evangelists, Pastors Wenceslao and Salvador in the Philippines, are contemplating a December party for the miners and their families. They think it is a good to plan ahead so that that the event can be upheld in prayer. Please join your prayers with theirs. Wednesday 30 th November We remember the work still being faithfully continued in the Braganza area of North East Portugal. Please pray for Pastor Jorge Paradela and his wife Adelia, who reach out to many with the Good News of Jesus Christ and His love. Praise God for the new church in Braganza that all may be blessed. Philippians Chapter 4, verse 6 (NIV) Saturday 1 st October The Out of the Pit website ministry to miners based in Australia is holding its annual Conference right now in Sydney. The Conference is entitled Pure Gold Mining for Christ. Please pray for all those who have come from various places, that they may receive much encouragement and blessing. Sunday 2 nd October Continue to ask for God s protection and strength for the complete recovery of Victor Varas in Chile following his hospitalisation earlier this year with high blood pressure problems. Remember Ana his wife and all the family as they continue to support Victor. Monday 3 rd October Cristobal Mangini s ministry in the Los Andes Mine, Saladillo, Chile continues and we are asked to pray for wisdom as he distributes Christian literature and Bibles to miners, whenever the opportunity arises. Please pray for the mourning families of the 4 coal miners who lost their lives so tragically when the Gleision Colliery, near Pontadawe in the Swansea valley, flooded on Thursday 15 th September. One of the members of the team attempting to rescue the men said It s the quiet moments of reflection afterwards I guess, which will affect every one it does not matter how big and tough you are.

2 Tuesday 4 th October Praise God for the effective launch of the work amongst gold miners in the small central African country of Burundi. Pray for evangelist Etienne, as he builds bridges to this group of unreached people. Already a youth club for some 18 young miners is in full swing! Wednesday 5 th October Etienne, evangelist in Northern Burundi is seeking ways to build bridges to the gold mining community. Some 200 families work in these mines. One way has been the establishment of a football club. 13 miners so far are interested and training is organised every week for them. Thursday 6 th October Etienne is using the Evangelism explosion materials to proclaim the Good news to the miners in Northern Burundi. Please pray for some 10 miners who come along with their wives to these meetings. Friday 7 th October Witchcraft is a serious problem in Burundi. One woman was a slave to witchcraft because she wanted to have a child. She had heard that there is this Jesus who can be an answer to any problem, but she had never met someone who could explain how she could receive Jesus. Praise God she has now found the Lord! Saturday 8 th October In Sierra Leone, Mike and Vi Webb thank IMM supporters for the gifts received for bicycles for the pastors who minister to the various churches in the diamond area around Tongo Fields. These bicycles are vital to reach many places only reached on poor tracks. Sunday 9 th October Pastor Dennis Mannah writes, With your help the Gospel is slowly spreading in areas of the diamond mining district of Sierra Leone. Praise God that because of IMM s support, other churches are springing up in this wonderful way. Monday 10 th October Thank God that the Christian Secondary School at Lowuma, Sierra Leone, is now attracting more children of other religions. The Bible is taught regularly and now there is a weekly chapel as well. about, for 20 years in spite of all the difficulties they have faced. Praise God for their faithful ministry. Tuesday 22 nd November Sanda Hudulin, ends her recent Please give our love and greetings to all our dear friends from IMM who pray for us and also thanks for all they are doing for the enlargement of God s Kingdom in Romania. Wednesday 23 rd November IMM Asia-Pacific-supported evangelists Jupiter Sevilla and Roland Ormandac, Cebu, Philippines ask for continuous prayer support, not least because of the bad weather conditions that sometimes impact the region where they minister to miners. Heavy rains came while they were travelling to the mining site. Please pray for travelling mercies at all times. Thursday 24 th November Pastor Roland in the Philippines has been teaching the wives of the miners about a home livelihood project for making handcrafts, so that they will have an extra income. May God bless them all! Friday 25 th November From IMM Asia-Pacific-supported evangelists Pastor Ricardo Gianchand & Carter Padullon in the Philippines, we learn that attendance during Bible study in the home is deteriorating because of the priorities of the menfolk with their employment, so only their wives and children attend. Please pray that what the wives and children learn is passed on to the husbands and fathers. Saturday 26 th November Pastors Ricardo and Carter in the Philippines stayed longer at one mine because the mother of one of the a miners had passed away. They held a service every night and brought snacks for the people. The families who they ministered to were touched that, despite the distance, Pastors Ricardo and Carter stayed, even in the stormy weather. Praise God for His faithful workers who continue with their ministry work despite challenging conditions. 2 11

3 Happy children enjoy the Summer Club held in Targu Jiu Baptist church, Romania Tuesday 11th October Pastor Dennis Mannah and two others attended the 3-week session of the Tyrannus Bible Institute, Sierra Leone. Dennis, together with an evangelist from Tongo Fields, has completed all 3 study modules. Having obtained satisfactory marks they were awarded their Diplomas. Wednesday 12th October Give God the thanks and praise that many in the mining areas in South Africa are coming to the Lord through the ministry of IMM SA. A mission team from IMM USA have now returned from their September 2011 visit. Praise God that the empowerment of the Holy Spirit was on the team of Johnny Wilson, Paul Liggitt and Stuart Burns as they ministered to the mining community. Friday 18th November Valy Bereznicu had to go for some months to work in the UK helping his relatives. His work in Romania was faithfully continued by Pastor Cornel and his team. Pastor Cornel s wife, Sanda was directing and training the choir, that Valy often conducts. Thursday 13th October Thank God that the meeting between members of IMM SA and the IMM USA Mission team and Kloof (Gold Mine Hostel) leaders on 3rd September was a great success, bringing forth much rich fruit for the Kingdom. Saturday 19th November Valy s wife (also Sanda) went to all the fellowships around Targu Jiu, Romania that husband Valy usually goes to, teaching the children in the different mission churches. Each time she had someone from Targu Jiu to help her with the preaching, so the Lord s work has not been neglected in Valy s absence. Friday 14th October Johnny Wilson, IMM USA, spoke to the students in Freedom Park High School, outside Rustenburg, South Africa. Praise God these moments were well received. He, Stuart Burns and Paul Liggitt later visited a Mine Hospital and ministered in Luka Church. Sunday 20th November Pastor Cornel Hudulin, Romania, has plans to renovate the church building in Targu Carbunesti. They aim to demolish a wall to make the meeting room larger, to change the floor and the windows, to paint the inside and outside. Pastor Cornel and Sanda hope they have sufficient funds to cover all the work and tell us that children already come to the meetings each Sunday. Monday 21st November Pastor Cornel and Sanda Hudulin and their team are thankful to our Lord for the way God used them and especially Cornel, to carry out the ministry in Targu Jiu, Romania, and in the mining area round 10 Saturday 15th October Praise God that Johnny Wilson s ministry in the mining areas of South Africa helped many to find direction in their lives and accept Christ as their Saviour. The open air meeting and presentations at the schools were well received. Sunday 16th October We hear that quite a number of miners and school children in the Rustenburg mine housing estates indicated to evangelist, Johnny Wilson, that they prayed to receive Christ and wanted to be followed up. Praise the Lord, some 50 miners (including women) signed their names and provided their phone numbers. 3

4 Monday 17th October Pray for wisdom for Pastor Andrew Mayathula as he follows up all the contacts made following the open air witness in the Rustenburg mine area of South Africa, where he and evangelist Johnny Wilson preached so effectively. Tuesday 18th October Thank God for the safe return to the USA of the IMM USA Mission Team, after a really busy but tiring time in the Johannesburg and Rustenburg mining areas in South Africa. Praise Him for the blessed time they experienced. Monday 14th November Sanda Hudulin says that God helped them to finish all the work on Sambotin Church, Romania. Praise God that her husband, Pastor Cornel, was able to raise all the money for the completion of the outside leaving about 500 to pay the workers for their labour. May the Church be filled with people, praise and joy. Wednesday 19th October Pray for the IMM global ministry by IMM Switzerland, IMM AsiaPacific, IMM South Africa, IMM USA, and IMM UK for their impact to the global mining communities. Remember the evangelists and pastors as they seek to reach out to miners and their families. Thursday 20th October Thank God for the visit by IMM UK trustees Ian Dring (Treasurer) and Michael Jarvis to Enakievo and surrounding locations in the Donetsk district of eastern Ukraine from 28th June to 1st July 2011 to review the work being supported by IMM and consider other needs that might be identified. Friday 21st October Pray for the political situation in the Ukraine. At the moment there is full freedom to preach the Gospel, but this cannot be taken for granted. Praise God for the successful Christian holiday camps for the children in the mining areas. Saturday 22nd October During their trip to eastern Ukraine by IMM UK trustees, Ian & Mike, had a wide ranging discussion with Pastor Alexander about IMM support for work among miners in the Enakievo area. Please pray for the on-going work in this large coal mining area. Sunday 23rd October Pastor Alexander told UK Trustees, Ian and Mike how vital and valuable Vasily Medvedev s work is in the Artyomovsk area of 4 Tuesday 15th November On 24 July there was a grand celebration in the recently completed Sambotin Church, Romania (see photo above). A friend of Pastor Cornel Hudulin from Emanuel, Oradea, the largest Baptist church in the country (and in mainland Europe with over 3,000 members!) was invited along with a good choir from Timisoara. The service held in Targu Jiu was recorded for the local TV station. th Wednesday 16th November Pastor Cornel Hudulin has visited the mining village of Floresteni, Romania, 4 times this year. They have had to change the place where they hold meetings and would like to have a real church building in this place. Please pray. Thursday 17th November A baptism was held in Targu Jiu in August when a lady from Floresteni, Romania, was baptised. Sanda Hudulin tells of another lady from the same village, who would like to be baptised too, but her husband is very much against it. She has resigned herself to this situation and continues to come to all their meetings. Please pray for her and her husband. 9

5 Tuesday 8th November Pray for Andrew Mayathulla and Sebi, his wife and their heavy involvement in Freedom Park Mining community, South Africa.. May the light that shines in the lives of children never be extinguished by the negative impact of those around and may Christ s message of hope, peace and joy may fill their young lives. Wednesday 9th November Please pray that IMM SA finds more local churches with a passion to reach miners and to partner with IMM SA in their continuing ministry. Pray that IMM SA gains more supporters within South Africa so that it becomes fully funded by local churches, church fellowships, individuals and, God willing, companies connected with mining. Thursday 10th November Pray for Pastor Pookkattu Paul and his wife, Molly, who travel a great deal in their ministry work for the Lord and IMM South Africa. Pray for Molly as she ministers to women and trains them, particularly in raising a Christian home. Friday 11th November Praise the Lord for the wonderful opportunities for ministry that He makes known to His workers in IMM SA in the schools, in the gold and platinum mining hostels, and open-air meetings. May the seeds sown bear rich fruit for the Kingdom. Saturday 12th November IMM South Africa praises the Lord for the money provided to enable the provision of two new public address systems which are very effective for preaching Christ s message of salvation and forgiveness in open air meetings. Sunday 13th November Pastor Cornel Hudulin and his wife Sanda, Romania, were happy to have their little granddaughter with them for three weeks in August. It was a good opportunity for her to be part of the children s club in their church in Targu Jiu. May she and all who took part have been truly blessed. 8 eastern Ukraine where he serves both as pastor and director of a number of Rehab centres. Men and women with addiction issues have been helped and, praise the Lord, a number have been saved. The growth of the work in Artyomovsk is financially challenging. Please pray for the funds to come in. Monday 24th October Vasily Medvedev expressed great thanks for the financial support from IMM UK to the ministry in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, and says he prays daily for the mission and its work. However changes in political and church life in the Donetsk region seem to indicate that open air rallies are not so effective now. Please pray for new ways of reaching out with the Gospel message. Tuesday 25th October One great need is to help those affected by drug and alcohol addictions and the development of the Rehab centres as well as a feeding station ministry. Vasily told Ian and Mike, that he now has responsibility in the area for all small group ministries. Please pray for Vasily as he reaches out to miners affected by drug problems. Wednesday 26th October Ian and Mike were driven to Pastor Alexander Kobzar s church a short distance from Artyomovsk at Chasov-Yar, Ukraine, where a group of young people were camping. It was their last day. They had had to move into the church because the weather was unusually wet! Praise God for this ministry. Thursday 27th October Ian and Mike joined in a short time of worship with the young people many of whom are orphans, singing and praying and listening to talks from Ian and Pastor Alexander K. It was heart-warming to see these young people meeting together and being lovingly encouraged by the local Christians in this part of the Ukraine. Friday 28th October A drive of about two hours west of Enakievo, Ukraine brought Ian and Mike to the purpose-built coal mining town of Krasnomayersk. Almost everyone who lives here is connected with coal mining and the mine 5

6 itself is one of the largest in Ukraine. In this town is a Christian- run children s home known as The Father s House. Please pray for the dedicated team who run it. Please pray that the men who lead the churches are well trained and have the opportunity to learn more in various seminars and Bible teaching conferences. Saturday 29th October Praise God that the IMM support for the children s camps around Enakievo and Artyomovsk, eastern Ukraine is money well spent as every year new faces join the ranks of those who hear of the love of Jesus for the first time. Praise God, a number of youngsters make a commitment to the Lord. Wednesday 2nd November Please pray for General Secretary of the Addis Kidan church in Ethiopia, Kifle Sibre, who oversees the work in the Shakisso mining area. Please pray for his team of evangelists and pastors, as they continue to extend the work into new areas. Children in the Ukraine learn about the love of Jesus Sunday 30th October Most of us have heard of the severe famine that has affected the whole Horn of Africa area. This is now touching parts of south-eastern Ethiopia. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in the Guji Zone, where the famine is also beginning to affect the people. IMM is watching the situation prayerfully as Shakisso is located in this area. Monday 31st October Please pray for Gobena, the co-ordinator of the churches in the Guji Zone of Ethiopia, where IMM supports several evangelists and pastors. He is keeping a close eye on the famine situation in the area. Please keep on praying for the rains to come soon. Tuesday 1st November The training of pastors and evangelists working on behalf of IMM in various countries is a continuous concern to the Mission s Trustees. 6 Thursday 3rd November We praise God for the faithful ministry of the team of evangelists working in the mining areas of Zimbabwe. There are so many needy people even those working in the mines. The support provided by the Mine Ministry team is greatly valued. Friday 4th November We are thankful to hear in a recent report from Pastor Pardon Chingovo of continued blessing in the mine areas of Zimbabwe. In recent months scores of people have been ministered to and as a result many have accepted Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Praise the Lord! Saturday 5th November IMM Switzerland continues to ask us for prayer for the situation in Zimbabwe, which gives everyone cause for much concern. The number of orphans in the mining area continues to grow, as the parents succumb to HIV/AIDS. Praise God IMM is able to fund the cost of school attendance fees for some of the orphans. Sunday 6th November Uphold before the Lord the holistic needs of Rev Philip Dungulu and his family. Thank God for their partnership with IMM SA and the ministry he is involved in. Pray also, for Rev Seelan Govender (IMM SA Treasurer) and his family as they have many responsibilities in Johannesburg city, their church and in IMM SA. Monday 7th November Pray for Rev Elijah Dube and his family, that his ministry with IMM may continue to be blessed. Praise the Lord that funds have become available for his vehicle to be repaired. Please pray also for his two boys and their university funding needs. 7
