1 Monday 27th January Philippines. Thank God for the outreach to miners in the remote parts of the Philippines sponsored by IMM Australia. Pray for Peter Robertson, Joy Bendoy and all the evangelists. Tuesday 28th January Pray for Florentino Apaza (84), Nicolas & Beatriz Ajhuacho, Ruben Paco, Elisa and Ruth in Bolivia. Pray too for the CCU, a vital university ministry to many of Bolivia s future leaders studying in nine universities. Beatriz, Nicolas, Eliseo & Florentino in Bolivia Wednesday 29th January Continue to pray for Solly Motshegwe who has a passion to reach South African miners in the community where he lives with the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. He has successfully completed and graduated from Miners Bible School. Pray that the Lord will direct his future work among miners. Thursday 30th January Thank the Lord for the partnership IMM has with Harvest with Christ. May the Lord give them vision for the work He has for them to do in Butihinda. Friday 31st January Please continue to hold the IMM Trustees before the Lord and pray that they will seek the Lord for vision, wisdom, and faith that they may do His will in this ministry. May they have the vision and leading of the Lord to move this ministry forward into the future. Sunday 1st December Sebastian and Natasha Matthew are expecting their second child this month. Pray that they will be kept safe and all will go well. Thank God for Sebastian s (IMM South Africa - Chairman) leadership skills; may the Lord give him insight and wisdom. Monday 2nd December Please pray as the Philippines struggle to recover from the destruction caused by the monster typhoon which hit the country last month. May all our evangelists experience the strength of the Lord, and be filled with courage as they seek to minister in a nation reeling from another huge disaster. 2 Tuesday 3rd December Philippines. May the presence of the Lord be with them with power so that a great number will believe on the Lord and surrender themselves unto Him. (Acts 11:21) Romania. Praise God for the recent baptisms in Romania. Pray that the candidates may continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We prayed 6th July about the reluctance of many to be baptised into the Christian church due to pressures on them by other family members. Thank God for answered prayer. May many more consider baptism during the coming months. Wednesday 4th December Marian Popescu,Cornel Hudulin and also Samuel Trasca, father of two daughters, who were among the baptismal candidates. Thursday 5th December Romania. Thank the Lord for his continued support for Cornel and Sanda Hudulin. May they be blessed with energy, enthusiasm, wisdom and courage and also continued healing for Cornel. Thank the Lord for Cornel s passion and great joy in leading evangelistic meetings. Pray for protection for them as they travel. Friday 6th December IMM (UK) are looking to support up to four more churches in the Ethiopian gold mining area over the next few years. Please pray for this exciting and expanding programme, for the way forward, for wisdom, and for provisions for new buildings to house these churches. Saturday 7th December South Africa. Elijah and Thuli Dube are finding life more challenging since Thuli lost her job. May they see the Lord s provision and experience His peace. Praise God that Elijah has been able to start ministering two Sundays a month at the Kloof gold mine Christian fellowship. 2 Tuesday 21st January Philippines. Please pray for continued healing for Wennie Manila. His doctor would like him to have surgery but Wennie is trusting in God for his healing. Let us pray together with him for this to become a reality. Wednesday 22nd January IMM UK are currently looking into the possibility of supporting a pioneer outreach at a large open cast coal mine in Brod Gneotino in the south of the Republic of Macedonia. Please pray for those involved. A feasibility study has been proposed and prayer is to be undertaken to see how to proceed with this exciting proposition. Thursday 23rd January South Africa Rev. Philip Dungulu has many pressures as he seeks to raise two grandchildren, who have lost their parents, in his home, and ministers in his church, taking responsibility for its heavy teaching programme. Pray that he will be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord. Friday 24th January Guyana in South America has a huge mission field with many mining communities needing to be reached with the Gospel. Ask God to show IMM how to reach these miners. Thank God for the relationship Stuart Burns and John Haynes (Dream Hole Mining) are building as they pray together. Saturday 25th January IMM remembers the unnamed workers in the PrayerLink today and asks that the Lord Jesus would be especially close to them. Also praise the Lord for all the supporters He has brought alongside the ministry. We pray especially that He will bless all in their work and that we may continue to see great answers to prayer. Sunday 26th January Moses Hiongwane and his wife Maria are also graduates from the Miners Bible School in South Africa. Moses lost his leg in a mining accident but is inspirational encouraging and influencing many young people as he leads them to the Lord. 11

3 Thursday 16th January South Africa. Faki Bodibe asks us to pray that the Lord will give him more energy in order to keep up with the increasing demand on his time for ministry. Pray that the Lord will show Faki clearly the best way to use the time and energy He gives him and that his ministry will produce much fruit. Friday 17th January Sierra Leone. Pastor Dennis Mannah s ministry in Tongo Fields is really growing and Dennis continues to faithfully serve the Lord in difficult conditions. Dennis one request for the moment is for a new motorbike to allow him to travel to the villages, which can be very hard to get to. Lake Sonfon gold mining Sierra Leone 10 Saturday 18th January Joel Willmer has taken over the advisory role in Sierra Leone vacated on the retirement of Mike and Vi Webb. May the Lord give him everything he needs to flourish in his new role. The mining industry is currently expanding in this area. We pray that the Lord will bring new evangelists to minister to the growing number of miners drawn to the area. Sunday 19th January Sierra Leone. Evangelists are encouraging churches to study the Bible and to appoint godly elders. May there be a hunger for the Word of the Lord and a passion to share the gospel with their fellow miners in the mining community. Monday 20th January In the small central African country of Burundi, evangelist Etienne and his wife Chantal continue to work out of Butihinda to the mining communities around. Etienne is now training three miners courses for church pastors and leaders at all levels. Sunday 8th December South Africa. Thank the Lord for all the students studying at the Kloof Miners Bible School. May they all be blessed and encouraged in their studies and be encouraged to complete the course. Monday 9th December Ethiopia. Please pray for Pastor Negussie as he ministers in the remote gold mining community of Zenibaba. Praise the Lord that the church is growing under his leadership. Tuesday 10th December Please pray for Matthias Feurer (IMM Swiss) as he seeks to organise the IMM Ethiopian Conference to be held 6th 13th November Pray that the Lord will be ordering his steps and arranging divine appointments for Matthias. May he have wisdom and foresight as he makes arrangements and recommendations towards the smooth running and most relevant outworking of this conference. Wednesday 11th December Pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of the people He wants to partake at the IMM Ethiopian conference next year. We ask that He will raise up younger people to attend who will be called to carry on the Miners Mission work so that more miners may be introduced to the Master. Thursday 12th December Many coal miners suffer with silicosis, a lung disease caused by dust particles breathed in and settling and damaging the lungs causing difficulty with breathing and early death. Pray for a breakthrough in research for more effective treatment and that preventive health and safety measures may become more available to miners so that fewer miners suffer from its effects. Friday 13th December South Africa. Please uphold Pastor Vusi Ndinisa and his family before the Lord that they may receive grace to balance the needs of family and the intense ministry pressures upon them from the local church, school, police chaplaincy, and IMM SA. Praise God for Vusi s valuable contribution. 3

4 Saturday 14th December South Africa. Please pray that God will bring a new General Secretary for IMM SA as Jimmy Robertson has had to resign to pursue other commitments. We thank the Lord for his interest and fellowship with us. Sunday 15th December South Africa. Thank the Lord for the church in Kanana where Stephen Sithole and his family give leadership. Stephen looks for all opportunities to share the Gospel. Pray that the Lord will comfort Respect Khosa (Bible Student) on the death of his father and that he will be encouraged in his studies and grow in passion to share his love of Christ with others. Monday 16th December South Africa. Pookkattu and Molly Paul. IMM USA missionaries, provide strong leadership in IMM SA. We thank God for their faithfulness and persistence in the face of many challenges over the years. Tuesday 17th December South Africa. Thank the Lord for IMM UK and its faithful supporters for continuing to support the Miners Bible School and its students. Elijah Katandaika, Soll Matsheegwe, Moses and Maria Hiongwane and Manuel Vilengol all graduated, along with others, and seek to extend ministry to the mining community. Wednesday 18th December Molly distributing literature to the graduates South Africa. Praise God for 39 miners who graduated recently from the Miners Bible School in Rustenburg. May they develop a passion to reach and encourage other miners in the knowledge and truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray that many more will enrol to study and seek to continue the IMM ministry. Friday 10th January Please pray for wisdom for Santos Valero, IMM Peru supervisor, as he oversees the ministry, teaches in a Bible school, and witnesses for Christ. Pray that funds would be released that the labourers would receive their wages as it has been hard to meet the financial commitments needed for the smooth running of the work. Saturday 11th January The oversight of the IMM ministry in Chile is now in the hands of Pastor Luis Castro. Ask the Lord to bless him with wisdom and vision in his ministry. Pray that good working relationships will be built up quickly with the evangelists, and with the IMM USA board. Sunday 12th January Chile. Thank God for the over 40 years of service to IMM of Victor Varas. Ask the Lord to expand the IMM work in Chile, where there are so many miners. Give thanks too for the significant advisory help from Mike Jackboice; also for Pastor Luis Castro who ministers to miners in several copper mines. Monday 13th January Pray for all those who came to know the Lord at Freedom Park, Ikageng, and Gauteng mining communities. May they continue to grow in the knowledge and truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for the students who so recently graduated that they will influence their local churches in Tantanana, Sandfountain, Kanana, Meriting, Ikageng and Boitekong. Tuesday 14th January Pray for the good health of IMM workers around the world, for wisdom to handle heavy workloads and the ability to prioritise, personnel, family and ministry. We pray too that they will be kept safe while travelling from mine to mine. Wednesday 15th January South Africa. Pookkattu and Molly need our prayers as the ministry demands careful planning and wise use of time. Driving into various locations and getting involved in conflict management take a great deal of physical and emotional energy. 4 9

5 Saturday 4th January Many thanks to IMM supporters in Switzerland who provided Bibles were distributed to the needy people in the Zimbabwe mining areas who are so hungry for the Word of God. Sunday 5th January Pray that the Lord will comfort Ben and Liz Wilson (IMM USA Board Chairman) and their family after Ben s father went to be with the Lord. May Ben s mother and all the family know the Lord s strength and comfort. Monday 6th January Bolivia. God is blessing Ruben Paco s ministry of teaching and encouragement among local churches in Bolivian mining areas. Let us pray together that Ruben will experience the Lord s strength and encouragement in his work. Tuesday 7th January IMM Bolivia s co-ordinator is Eliseo Quispe, who meets monthly with IMM missionaries to encourage, gather reports and help provide direction. Thank God for the work he does and pray that the Lord will bless Eliseo with insight and wisdom in this significant role. Wednesday 8th January IMM workers in Peru need prayer for encouragement, safety, good health and spiritual fruit. Uphold Roberto Masca, Rene Churata and Venancio Gonzales before the Lord that they may feel His touch on their lives and ministries. They all need support and prayer as they build up churches in remote high Andes mining locations. Venancio Gonzales, IMM Peru Missionary 8 Thursday 9th January Peru. Venancio Gonzales ministry in Pasco has been a blessing to many. May the Lord draw many more souls to Himself through Venancio, and that the Word of God may have an impact and change lives as the mining community respond to it in faith. Thursday 19th December Ukraine. In the village of Volodarka (a salt mine) a small group of men and women meet in a home for Bible Study. Their ages range from teenagers to the elderly and they gather every week to pray and look at passages from the scriptures under the guidance of pastor Vasily Dmitriev. The hope is that shortly these dear people will form the basis for a new church plant. Please pray for them. Friday 20th December Ukraine. Andrey and his wife Christina manage the Chasov Yar Rehab Centre. In its four years 200 people have passed through; many have been baptised and there have been seven weddings. They have been given funds to build a greenhouse with a view to growing cucumbers and tulips to raise funds. Saturday 21st December Ukraine. Sergey Moroz, senior pastor of the Baptist churches in Lugansk Region is interested in mining evangelism, having been a coal miner himself. He has identified two people already working among the miners there who IMM UK may be able to work with to expand the ministry in this area. Sunday 22nd December Ukraine. In the coal and salt mining areas of this region around Artyomovsk, Pastors Vasiliy Dmitriev and Alexander Kobzar oversee a small centre which provides food for the local homeless and the poor in this area. About 35 people come regularly, especially in winter when times are very tough indeed. Vasiliy gives Bible teaching before food is handed out. 5

6 Monday 23rd December Mozambique. As many as 450 miners, many from Mozambique, have received notice of compulsory retirement from a Platinum Shaft in Rustenburg, South Africa. Some of them have their children in South African schools and universities. We pray that they will call upon the Lord and be strengthened, encouraged and guided by Him. Tuesday 24th December South Africa. Pray for Felix, Joseph Mabuza and Amos as they seek to give wise leadership in the platinum miners churches in the different communities in the area around Rustenburg. Wednesday 25th December Praise God for Jesus! As we celebrate His birthday let us thank Him that He invites us to work in partnership with Him as He seeks to draw souls to Himself. We thank Him for the labourers in the field and ask that He may send more to bring in the harvest. Thursday 26th December Thank the Lord for the mission and church partnerships IMM is engaged with and helps support in various parts of the world where there are miners. This enables them to minister in more mining areas and reach more miners to Introduce them to the Master. Friday 27th December Thank the Lord for the Mozambique Christian miners working in South Africa and their commitment to reach their communities with the Gospel. Give thanks for the encouragement given by Geoff and Connie Griffin (SIM USA) as they were able to visit them recently and minister in some of these communities. 6 Saturday 28th December Give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and mercy. On 10th July 2012 the IMM family prayed for a baby for Eugene and Chantal. The Lord delights to answer the prayers of His children and has blessed them with a baby girl called Hope born July 1st Sunday 29th December Mohau and Bulelwe who pastor the church in Ikageng are hoping that the Lord will bless them with a baby soon. Mohau is currently preparing for his Ordination with the Africa Evangelical Church soon. Please pray for them. Monday 30th December Rejoice that Tom Gilliam was well enough to attend the recent IMM USA board meeting. Please pray for his continuing healing which is progressing slowly. Pray that the Lord will give the board members wisdom and His vision for the work He has for them to do. Give thanks that the Lord has promised to provide resources for His servants to do the work He has called them to. Tuesday 31st December Zimbabwe. Evangelist Wonder Mwadzichema is expecting to leave Mine Ministry from 1st January to go to Kenya as he will be attending Day Star University to study for a peace conflict degree. Pray that the Lord will bring a new evangelist to Kadoma to carry forward the excellent work Wonder has started. Wednesday 1st January The passing of time means more and more miners are passing into eternity without Jesus; and Jesus might return tomorrow. At the start of this new year let us re energise to seek under the Lord s guidance to do as much as we can to bring the gospel to miners and see more miners saved before it is too late. Thursday 2nd January Zimbabwe. Pardon Chingovo is currently half way through supervising building a mission church in Rutendo. Up to now the church has been meeting under a tarpaulin. IMM Switzerland has recently sent a further 1000 Swiss Francs as gifts for specific work also for the provision of materials for the church building. Friday 3rd January Zimbabwe. Thank God for Evangelist Katiyo who boldly shares the saving grace of Christ. Pray for insight as he witnesses and also that he will have wisdom during hospital visits to deal with terrible issues related to HIV and AIDS. 7
