2 Message from Bill Bozeman, Interim Pastor Dear FBC family, My family and I would like to express our sincere thanks to all of you for your love, prayers and support for us during this time of the loss of our son, Paul Bozeman. Thank you for earnestly praying for us. I truly believe that your prayers helped us through this difficult crisis. Thank you also for gathering around us immediately after we learned of his untimely death. You all truly came to our rescue by just being there with us and loving on us the way you have. Thank you for preparing and delivering to us all the delicious meals that you so graciously provided. Thank you for the generous financial support you provided to help ease the burden of funeral costs. Special thanks to those who were able and willing to travel all the way to Mobile to attend the funeral and show your support of us. This church has clearly demonstrated sacrificial love by all that you have done to help us make it through this tragic situation in our lives. We are extremely grateful and feel deeply blessed to be surrounded by such a body of fellow believers. May God richly reward you for your gracious acts of sympathy and kindness toward us. We love you and thank God for you. Please continue to pray for us as we go through the process of grieving and healing. Please pray especially for Josie. She is only eleven and does not fully understand what all has happened. Also, please pray for our other two sons, Shane and Wesley. This hit them very hard. Again, thank you all for being there for us and supporting us in so many different ways during this tragic loss of our son. We will never forget what you have done for us. I look forward to seeing you again this Sunday. I love you all. Jesus is Lord! Brother Bill Fall is upon us and it is time for our Fall Mission Project. Our GA s will be collecting stocking hats, gloves and socks for the homeless. Our girls have a heart for the Lord and for those less fortunate than themselves. We will be placing tracts or prayer cards in each gift to be handed out. Please help our girls to accomplish this project of love. GA Leaders Becky Morris Sandra Burns Lisa Coursey Ladies You are invited to attend MyMission: Engage November 7-8 in Warner Robbins We will be partnering with Out of Darkness Middle Georgia and Shirley Hills Baptist Church going to the streets to share Hope and Truth with many people! We will be raising awareness about the issue of Modern Day Slavery: Human Trafficking and providing tools and resources to trucking companies and other businesses to fight! If you are interested, sign up at Georgia WMU (under the MyMission tab) and contact Stephanie Deal ( ) or Kelly Farabee ( ). We would love for you to attend with us!

Please let the Personnel Committee know if you have any questions. Thank you Lonnie Pate Prison Ministry seeking donations of books by any of the following: Joyce Meyers Joel Osteen Billy Graham T.D. Jakes Also old issues of : Biblical Illustrator and National Geographic News at the Crossroads George Pabst, Crossroads Mission Pastor I saw this post on Facebook from Ed Stetzer of Lifeway Resources with this photo. He declined but yep, I m going to do it. In some Christian circles there has been much emphasis placed on these four Blood Red Moons to occur this year. It is a rare event but not a brand new event. Since man first noticed the heavens he has tried to make a connection with events in the heavens and events here on this planet. Do events in the heavens predict happenings on this planet? Do they cause them? Often our fascination has misled us to worship the created instead of the Creator. This is still going on today. Some in the faith community have suggested these astronomical events are the announcement of the second coming of Christ. Now there is a precedent for such a conclusion, Bethlehem. A star announced to the entire universe that the Son of God had become man. The star was witness to what God was doing. Magi who studied the stars saw it and came. However the eclipse of the moon is a calculated regular occurrence. It is not new nor unexpected. It s more like Apple announcing a new IPhone. It happens regularly and people freak out about it as new and exciting. Now a lunar eclipse is special and unique. It reminds of the spectacular nature of the universe God created and the unique order and precision that God alone defined. It s not the announcement of the Second Coming. So, what do we look for 10 But when the Day of God s Judgment does come, it will be unannounced, like a thief Since everything here today might well be gone tomorrow, do you see how essential it is to live a holy life? Daily expect the Day of God, eager for its arrival. The galaxies will burn up and the elements melt down that day but we ll hardly notice. We ll be looking the other way, ready for the promised new heavens and the promised new earth, all landscaped with righteousness. 2 Peter 3:10-13 The Message In HIS Service and yours Bro G

4 Did you know that one out of every four people who is homeless is a child? Or, that families with children make up 40% of the people in this country who are homeless? Family homelessness' is a national problem. The week of October is Family Promise Week. Family Promise Week will raise awareness about the issue as well as celebrate the service of our congregation and others to serve our brothers and sisters in need. You can participate in Family Promise Week by signing up to volunteer, telling others about Family Promise of Effingham, or visiting effinghamfamilypromise.org to learn more. I remember as a child thinking what it is going to be like to play in the NBA. Well evidently that didn t pan out. You see we think and plan, but yet five years later we are still in the same place with the same thoughts and the same plans. So how do we go from planning to completion? I think what many people are missing is the doing aspect. We think of our dreams and goals will come true tomorrow. I think we need to stop just being thinkers but be doers. I am going to tell you something you already know with your mind, but not possible with your heart. Life is very short. If we are not careful, tomorrow may never come. How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog it s here a little while, then it s gone. (James 4:14) Don t do tomorrow but what you can do today. Don t let your life pass you by Dream, Plan, Do!!!! Remember this only the things done for Christ have an eternal impact. Ragamuffin for Christ, Dusty Carson
