2 Prelude Welcome Opening Prayer Opening Songs - Joyful, Joyful, Let It Rise Litany: - Romans 8:31-35, We meet in the strong name of our God; We praise you Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Prayer of the Day: Lord God, we praise you as the Source of all life, the Creator and Designer of our bodies. You know how we are made. You offer Sabbath rest as a gift to us. On this holy day, we are privileged to spend time with you, to hear your Word, to worship with your people, and to rest from our labors. Teach us to rest in your love. Teach us to trust and not be afraid. Our hearts are restless until they rest in you. We wish to honor you as God by inviting you into the center of our lives. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

4 Lesson - Exodus 15: Then Moses and the Israelites sang this song to the LORD: I will sing to the LORD, for he is highly exalted. Both horse and driver has hurled into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father s God, and I will exalt him. 3 The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name. 4Pharaoh s chariots and his army he has hurled into the sea. The best of Pharaoh s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The deep waters have covered them; sank to the depths like a stone. 6 Your right hand, LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, LORD, shattered the enemy. 7 In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble. 8By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy boasted, I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them. 10 But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. 5 Thank You... for a wonderful birthday party! Two little words that convey so much warmth, joy and love. Without any one of you that makes up our Faith family, our 5th year anniversary birthday party wouldn't have been as fun as it was. I was privileged to be the Anniversary Team's leader. Members were: Becky Simons, Lori Krei, Joan Unrau, Steph Essick, Barb Solberg, Shanna Kooker, and GA Darnell. Pastor Lee, as always, was a fount of inspiration. Each team member is a leader of their own ministry team, and those teams are amazing! Ideas were suggested, refined and brought to life. Most of all, I would like to thank each one of you who offered your talents to grill meat, judge such a close competition, bake a pie or cake, auction off those delicious confections or bought one (or 2 or 3!), helped set-up or helped tear down, brought something for the potluck or helped eat the food, played the games, or just walked around enjoying the festivities! Without you we wouldn't be the family in Christ that we are. Cheryl Stueven Mission Day Mission Day will be Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Now is a great time to buy back to school supplies that are needed for school kits. Spiral notebooks (70 count), blunt scissors, crayons, ball point ink pens, erasers, rulers with inches & centimeters, and pencil sharpeners are all needed, so be sure to watch for bargains! There is a box marked Lutheran World Relief near Faith's entry where you can put all the items. We'll be working on making and filling schoolbags as well as putting quilts together, so we have something for everyone to do. Hope you can join us. For those who want to donate items, and cannot attend, there is a basket by the bulletin boards for you to place your items.

6 Ingham Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp Hog Roast & Pie Auction Join us Sunday, August 23rd for our annual Hog Roast sponsored by the Ingham Auxiliary. Thanks to the Dan Yonker family for providing and roasting the delicious pork. This year we'll also have the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Ingham chapel.
