EVANGELISM POINTS OF POWER November 2013 Thankful The season of Thanksgiving is here. We have so much to be thankful for to be grateful for, because God has been so good! There can be no doubt: Every day is a day of thanksgiving! We may not have had all that we thought we needed, but God kept us through it all. God kept us through the loss of jobs, homes, friends, family. God kept food on our tables even when times were hard, and we doubted we d get through, He worked it out in our favor, and blessed us anyway! God gave us shelter, and kept us clothed in every season of weather. God kept us through life-threatening illnesses and disabilities; protected us up and down the highways; restored relationships; birthed new generations into our families; and kissed our tears, as He wrapped His loving arms around us in our time of sorrow. Our deliverance is our testimony to God s love for us. As sons and daughters of the Most High God, that is the message we must proclaim to those who do not know Him as Lord and Savior of their life, because they can come to know Him right now! As we gather together to give thanks, take time to give of yourself in some way: look not for what you can receive: look for what you can give to someone else, such as: your time; donations to organizations that care for those in need; the message of salvation in Christ Jesus; or share what you are thankful for with others especially those who are alone or away this season. When we give and share with others, we give God s love. I Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV) says: Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ~The Evangelism Ministry. ST. PAUL S BAPTIST CHURCH Page 5

11 The Last Sunday after Pentecost November 24, 2013 Jesus is all this world to me; my life, my joy, my all. Please let Jesus come into your heart and you will be singing as you go, What a wonderful change in my life has been wrought since Jesus came into my heart; I have light in my soul that I longed for but could not find. I found that light and peace within, when Jesus came into my heart. Pray! Pray! Pray! Everybody should pray sometimes. We should fall down on our knees and, cry please Dear Father have mercy on me a sinner. Jesus prayed many times because He knew that prayer is the answer in any situation. Paul tells us that prayer safeguards the believer s heart from anxiety or worry. Why worry when you can pray. Praying appropriately will result in the most effective protection. Jesus had to pray so why shouldn t we pray. God desire to hear our concerns. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6 Prayer is the answer and faith unlocks the door. In Touch By Dr. Stanley If problems are all that keep us on our knees, then we have missed the main point of our relationship with God. Why does the Lord expect us to honor Him when what we want is immediate help for our problems? Because where the mind dwells, the heart follows. Focusing on His greatness puts our needs in the right perspective and encourages us to rest easy. He is in charge and at work. 30 Wherefore if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you O you of little faith? Matthew 6:30 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 Consider Jesus prayer in Gethsemane. 36 The cometh Jesus with them into a place called Gethsemane and saith unto the disciples, sit ye here while I go and pray yonder. This Jesus third prayer. 44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 46 Rise let us be going: behold he is at hand that doth betray me. Matthew 26:36,44,46 Dear St. Paulians and Friends, Did you know that Jesus prayed three times? Did you know that we can pray one time and Our Father will hear and answer? Did you know that prayer can change things? Let us take it all to God in prayer because: Hallelujah! God does answer prayers. Thank you Jesus. Amen Amen Amen Members from the Prayer Ministries will be available Sunday mornings after worship service in the Prayer Chapel for anyone who desires prayer for self or others.
