4 The Road to Divine Demonstration by Sfg. Bishop C. Shawn Tyson, Pastor Welcome to the Year of Demonstration! The grace of God has once again afforded us the priceless opportunity to participate with Him in Holy Consecration. This most profound privilege must never be taken for granted. Therefore, we shall now, through the discipline of intentional preparation, embark upon the first period of intentional and intensely focused consecration in 2019, as we shall now enter into "The Fast of Divine Demonstration". The Apostle James said in his epistle, chapter 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God, and he will draw nigh unto you". Beloved, I submit to you, that God is literally waiting on you to make the first move of demonstration! You are not far from destiny. You are not far from ministry. You are not far from the manifest power of purpose being realized in your life. But be mindful of the Word from the Lord. This year, only the consecrated shall prosper. As you consecrate yourselves this week, anticipate the glory of God to increase upon you as we move through spiritual dimensions in worship, prayer, fasting and the word of God. Anticipate the appearance of God in your home on family day (Monday) as we invoke the presence of God into our homes through family dinner, family prayer, family worship and family bible study. Expect minds to be transformed, broken hearts mended, sins forgiven and bodies healed. This shall be a momentous spiritual experience in the lives of those who shall seek God with your whole hearts. 5 Before, During, and Breaking the Fast Planning Your Fast Then Joshua said to the people, Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. Joshua 3:5 Pray Spend time reading the Bible before the fast. Ask the Holy Spirit for guidance in your prayers. Write down your faith goals and specific prayer requests for your family, friends, church, and nation. Commit Pray about the kind of fast you will undertake and commit to it ahead of time. Ask God for grace to help you follow through with your decisions. Act Start eating smaller portions a few days before the fast. Avoid food high in sugar and fat. Plan to limit physical and social activities for the week of the fast. Ask someone to be your prayer partner throughout the fast. While Fasting [Jesus] answered, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 Focus Set aside time to work through the devotionals. Be ready to respond to God s Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray Join at least one prayer meeting in your local church. Intercede for your family, church, pastors, nation, campuses, and missions throughout the week. Replenish During mealtime, read the Bible and pray instead. Drink plenty of water and rest as much as you can. Be ready for temporary bouts of physical weakness and mental annoyances like impatience and irritability. Breaking the Fast And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14 15 Eat Reintroduce solid food gradually. Your body will need time to adjust to a normal diet. Start with fruits, juices, and salad, then add more vegetables. Eat small portions throughout the day. Pray Don t stop praying! Trust God s faithfulness and timing. Carry your newfound passion for God throughout the year. Be in faith for God to answer your prayers. 5

7 Confession Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us The Apostolic lifestyle of holiness embodies the practice of confession which is clearly outlined in both the Old & New Testaments. And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing: (Leviticus 5:5) If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9) You are urged to utilize this personal time of reflection as a time to cleanse your spirit form any weight and sin which does so easily beset (Hebrews 12:1). 9 DAY 1: MONDAY DEVOTION READ: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV and Proverbs 3:6 KJV REFLECTION: List your specific Prayers for DEVOTION: Thought of the Day The demand of God this year is on the demonstration of your devotion. Devotion requires authentic love. True love is not a strong, fiery, impetuous passion. It is a determined devotion mixed with unwavering dedication. With faith, discipline and selfless devotion to God, family, church and duty, there is nothing worthwhile that you cannot achieve. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. 10 DAY 1: PRAYER FOR DEVOTION Demonstration of Devotion 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV and Proverbs 3:6 KJV Devotion: profound dedication; consecration; earnest attachment to a cause, person, etc.; an assignment or appropriation to any purpose, cause, etc.: Father, I pray the Prayer of Devotion, Consecration, and Submission. In every area of my life, I belong to You. Father, I ll go where you want me to go, I ll do what you want me to do. Not my will, but your will be done. Thank you, Father that you work in me both to will and to do of your good pleasure. You have a good plan for my life, a plan of peace and joy. Father, what you want and what you desire is what I want; that is what I desire. Not my will, but your will for my life every day, Father. Not my own way, not the way of the flesh, but the way of the Spirit. Father, your will, your plan, your way. Father, I dedicate my life to you in every area. You have a plan for me in every area of life. Thank you, Father, for the joy of obedience. I will obey you with joy. Father, I want to have the spirit of obedience in my life, not rebellion or pride, not resistance or hard-heartedness, but a soft, sensitive heart that is willing to do anything. I rebuke rebellion and stubbornness in Jesus Name. Father, I say before your presence that I am willing to do anything you want me to do. No matter what man says, no matter what the world says, you have found a willing person. You have found an obedient person. Father, I will do what you say all the way, just the way you say it, no more and no less, and with joy. Thank you, Father, for the spirit of faith and the spirit of obedience. And Father, thank you that your will be fulfilled in my life to your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen. 10

11 DAY 2: TUESDAY HUMILITY READ: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV & James 4:10 KJV REFLECTION: List your specific prayers for HUMILITY: Thought of the Day Consider the Apostle Paul: He was raised in religion. He went to the best schools available in his day. By the age of twelve, as a good rabbinical student he would have had the entire Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible, memorized. When it came to the Scripture, Paul was more well-versed than almost anyone else in history. On top of all that, thirteen of his letters would go on to be books in our New Testament. He not only knew the Scripture, he wrote the Scripture. If anyone could have gotten by with wise and persuasive arguments, memorized presentations, or other evangelistic tricks taught today, it was him. 12 DAY 2: PRAYER FOR HUMILITY Demonstration of Humility 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV & James 4:10 KJV Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:2 Father, how we thank You for the wonderful example of true humility that is seen in the life and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who despite being God incarnate, lived His life in humble submission to You, learning to be both submissive and obedient by the things that He suffered. Thank You Lord that in union with Christ we have the mind of Christ, as we also submit to the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Help me to develop the beautiful spiritual fruit of humility that is so important in the lives of all Your children, if we are to grow in grace and to mature into a deeper knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Lord Jesus. Help me not to do anything out of selfish ambition or foolish vanity, but rather may I develop the godly grace to regard the needs and desires of others as being more important than my own. Teach me I pray, to live as Christ lived in the power of the Spirit and to Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, Amen 12

13 DAY 3: WEDNESDAY THE SPIRIT READ: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV & Romans 8:14 KJV REFLECTION: List your specific prayers for GOD S SPIRIT: Thought of the Day For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, Abba! Father! 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, Romans 8:14-16 Today s Quote O Holy Spirit, descend plentifully into my heart. 14 DAY 3: PRAYER DIRECTIVES Demonstration of the Spirit 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV & Romans 8:14 KJV 1. Declare the release of Demonstration by God s Spirit over your family, church, and environment 2. Pray that God will create a hunger, a thirst, and an insatiable desire in you for His word and the application of the same in your daily walk. 3. Pray for an understanding and revelation of God s presence as He demonstrates Himself in your life. 4. Pray that God will increase your capacity to contain and retain more and more of the demonstration of His spirit. 5. Ask God to increase your faith! 6. Please know that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 7. Pray that greater works of God s spirit would be seen in your life! 8. Admonish yourself to Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16 9. As you live each day, ask God to help you accompany your words with actions. When we allow God to show Himself through us, it s a powerful demonstration of His grace and love. 14

15 DAY 4: THURSDAY POWER READ: 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV REFLECTION: List your specific prayer for God s Power: Thought of the Day & The Word of the Lord Concerning You The Holy spirit wants to anoint you with power so that you will be a witness for Jesus, not in mere words, but in demonstrations of His Spirit. He wants to use your life to manifest, prove, and confirm the reality of the unseen realm. He wants to empower your life on a day-to-day basis in your home, workplace, community, and in everyday living. We must understand that the Lord is beginning to activate His people to move in the supernatural; as a result, we will see the impossible become possible wherever we go. 16 DAY 4: PRAYER RELEASING GOD S POWER Demonstration of Power 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV Prayers Releasing the Power of God: Lord, release Your glorious power against the enemy (Exodus 15:6). Let power and might be released from Your hand (1 Chronicles 29:12). Scatter the enemy by Your power (Psalm 59:11). Rule over Your enemies through Your power (Psalm 66:7). Let the power of Your anger be released against the powers of darkness (Psalm 90:11). I release the power and authority of the Lord against all demons I encounter in the name of Jesus (Matthew 10:1). I am delivered from the power of Satan unto God (Acts 26:18). Divide the sea, and destroy marine spirits through Your power (Job 26:12). I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10). Cause the powers of darkness to submit to Your power. Display Your awesome power that men will believe. Release Your power in healing and deliverance (Luke 5:17). Release Your powerful voice (Psalm 29:4). Let me be amazed at Your power (Luke 9:43). Let great power be released through Your apostles (Acts 4:33). Let signs, wonders, and miracles be released through the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:19). Let me preach and teach with demonstration of the Spirit and power (1 Corinthians 2:4). Let Your power work in me (Ephesians 3:20). Release Your powerful angels on my behalf to fight my battles in the heavens (2 Peter 2:11; Revelation 18:1). Release the power of Elijah through Your prophets (Luke 1:17). Let me be willing in the day of Your power (Psalm 110:3). 16

18 DAY 5: FAITH CONFESSION Demonstration of Faith 1 Corinthians 2:1-5 KJV In the name of Jesus, I am a believer. I believe God's Word. I am what the Word says I am. I have what the Word says I have. I can do what the Word says I can do. In Jesus' name, I render ineffective every negative word I have spoken, every negative thing I have thought, every word and thought that has been contrary to the truth of God's Word. From this moment forward, I will acknowledge only the good things that are in me in Christ Jesus. I am saying it now: out of the good treasure of my heart, only good things will come to pass. I am the righteousness of God, a new creation, an heir of God, and a joint heir with Jesus. I have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God. I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb - redeemed from the curse of the Law; redeemed from sickness and disease, poverty and death. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am more than a conqueror. He never leaves me nor forsakes me. Since the Greater One dwells within me, I can overcome every situation. The faith of God resides within me, and through it I have the victory that overcomes the world. I thank you, Father, that I can have all these things. I believe it in my heart. I have released it with my mouth. So be it. It will surely come to pass, in Jesus' name, Amen! 18
