THAT THE DELORAINE-MELITA-TIL$TON (DMT) PASTORAL CHARGE ACCEPTH THE FINAL REPORT OF THE JOINT NEEDS ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE & ITS RECOMMENDATIONS (MINISTRY PROFILE) TO HIRE ONE FULL-TIME MINISTER (ANY STREAM) UP TO/INCLUDING CATEGORY F. 2. THAT THE DELORAINE-MELITA-TILSTON (DM1) PASTORAL CHARGE REQUEST THE SETTLEMENT COMMISSION OF THE CONFERENCE OF MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO (MNWO) TO DECLARE A VACANCY FOR ONE FULL-TIME MINISTER (ANY STREAM) UP TO/INCLUDING CATEGORY F, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, WITH THE TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT BEING:. Base Salary + 5% other increments of salary and benefits, consistent with national United Church schedules (up to Category F).Full time hours are guaranteed for a minimum of five (5) years, and as finances allow beyond that.. that the minister is to live in the Manse provided, in Deloraine.. In months with 5 Sundays, one of those Sundays may be negotiated that the minister is not responsible for worship preparation or leadership; attendance at church that day is optional. However it is expected that those hours will reallocated to other duties.. Vacation time: to be negotiated with M&P to take either one month bloc or 23 working days taken in smaller units through the year, including 5 Sundays. During the week between Christmas and New Year s the minister is available but unencumbered by regular duties (i.e. on-call); or this week may be taken as one ofthe weeks of vacation if minister is going away.. An MIS/Bell service bundle oftelephone services for the Manse (landline, mobile, internet and cable) is 100% paid by the Pastoral Charge. Other telephone service is available at both Offices.. Mileage is reimbursed at rate set by General Council based on submitted travel logs. (.39/km). Three weeks (21 days) inclusive of Sundays per year for Continuing Education; funding for approved Con Ed. activities and/or resources is up to $13 74/yr. As approved by M&P, CE funds not used in one calendar year may be rolled over to the following year.. Eligibility for sabbatical is effective after 5 years continuous service at the Pastoral Charge. All other terms and conditions are in accordance with The United Church Manual.. Administrative Assistance is 20 hours per week.

It has a ramp and an elevator so people can go to both the Sanctuary upstairs and the basement for fellowship and meetings. The bathrooms are not wheelchair accessible at this time, but renovations are being planned. Our church building(s) are mostly: (choose one that best applies): LI Newly built in the last 10 years. X Yes D No What are they used for? One is the church office/parlour. This is suitable for a small group meeting. It also holds the office equipment and choir gowns/music. The basement hail and is used for most meetings. Another small room is used for the Thrift Shop. Is there a nursery? Describe it: It is a shared space but is seldom used during the week except for the photocopier and choir gowning. There is a lockable filing cabinet. The congregation s laptop is there also. Is the building used by outside groups as well as ministry activities? X Yes LI No 4H uses the basement occasionally Brief descriptions (tenants, occasional rentals, frequency of use): The Deloraine & Area Food Cupboard is housed in the kitchen. Hampers are made up by Committee members and families come to pick up their hampers anonymously. The Thrift Store is both a fundraising opportunity and a ministry ofthe congregation. It is permanently housed in its own room. Is there a photocopier in the church? X Yes D No Is internet provided at the church? The offices are located on the same level as the Sanctuary. The dais/chancel is not accessible. Describe it: The church secretary has the front office, where the photocopier and PC computer is located. The minister s office is directly behind, with its own closing door; a2 door in the minister s office leads both to a wheelchair ramp entrance and to the Sanctuary. Both doors are locked routinely. The office is wheelchair/walker accessible only from the outside of the building. We have close ties with the following faith communities: Presbyterian Church (Melita), (TurtleMountainBibleCamp.weelby.com) which many local children attend.. There is an Evangelical Fellowship of Canada-affiliated camp south of Deloraine (Deloraine & Melita), Roman Catholic Church (Deloraine & Melita), Presbyterian Church of Canada (Melita), Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (Melita), two independent evangelical congregations (Deloraine and area). There is an active ecumenical ministerial in Melita, primarily for collegial support, but also the joint worship/learning like the Advent & Lenten lunches, Good Friday, and World Day of Prayer services.. However, there are concerns about the emotional safety (and perhaps physical) oftransgendered persons. For all ministers, relationship status is not an issue. The Pastoral Charge would be able to accommodate persons with physical challenges (mobility, vision), provided that they were able to transport themselves to the various communities and venues. (The church would not be able to provide a driver.) Neither the church, nor community, can accommodate persons requiring ASL for communication. There are many persons who are hard-of-hearing in the church family, therefore someone with a strong dialect or accent may need to speak particularly clearly or slowly. Terms of Employment: The Pastoral Charge provides a Manse, therefore New Compensation Model does not apply.. Base Salary + 5% other increments of salary and benefits, consistent with national United Church schedules (up to Category F). Full time hours are guaranteed for a minimum of five (5) years, and as finances allow beyond that... the minister is expected to live in the Manse provided, in Deloraine. In months with 5 Sundays, one of those Sundays may be negotiated that the minister is not responsible for worship preparation or leadership; attendance at church that day is optional. However it is expected that those hours will reallocated to other duties.. Vacation time: to be negotiated with M&P to take either one month bloc or 23 working days taken in smaller units through the year. During the week between Christmas and New Year s the minister is available but unencumbered by regular duties (i.e. on-call); or this week may be taken as one ofthe weeks of vacation if minister is going away.. An MIS/Bell service bundle oftelephone services for the Manse (landline, mobile, Internet and cable) is 1 00% paid by the Pastoral Charge. Other telephone service is available at both Offices Mileage is reimbursed at rate set by General Council based on submitted travel logs. (.39/km) Three weeks (21 days) inclusive of Sundays per year for Continuing Education; funding for approved Con Ed. activities and/or resources is up to $1374/yr. As approved by M&P, CE funds not used in one calendar year may be rolled over to the following year. Eligibility for sabbatical is effective afier 5 years continuous service at the Pastoral Charge All other terms and conditions are in accordance with The United Church Manual. Administrative Assistance is 20 hours per week.
