1 CHILDREN S CHURCH JANUARY 2019 LESSON PLAN January 6, I Am Rice and Safety Pens We will blindfold the child and place a handful of dry rice mixed with small safety pins in their hand. They will have 15 seconds to guess how many they have in their hand. The number of safety pins in their hand is the number of I ams they will say with three being the maximum. We need to seek to spend time in the presence of God by worshipping Him. Ms. Nohemi 2. Have a child pray. 3. Announcements and visitors a. Introduce any visitors. b. Birthdays 4. Rules 5. This commandment deals specifically with our worship of God. c. God doesn t want our worship of Him attached to things of the earth or things made by man. d. 2 We obey God, honor God, and follow His Word. This is the best way to get our spirit stirred. (Bro. Misael) e. We will separate the children into three or four teams. We will have a start and turnaround line. A child from each team will have to carry an object to the far line and back. The next child will have to carry that same item, plus one more, etc. When each child has gone, they will receive a word and work together to put the power verse in order. 3 January 13, I am Cotton Balls We will have the children try to throw cotton balls in a bucket for 20 seconds. The number of cotton balls they make is the number of I ams they say with three being the maximum. God is a Spirit and He wants us to make time to spend with Him in His presence. Brother Misael 2. We will tape a cup to the floor on its side and have the children blow a ping pong ball with a paper towel roll (something similar) from one side of the room to where the cup is taped. When the child gets the ping pong ball in the cup, they draw a word. Once each child has gone once or all of the words are received, they will work together to put the power verse in order. Just like you can t see God who is always present, you can t see the breath that moves the ping pong ball across the room. Ms. Belinda

5 January 20, I am Play Dough We will have 3 to 4 children build whatever the helper calls out. They will have 30 to 45 seconds to complete their sculpture. The maker of the sculpture that looks closest to what was called out will say two I Ams and the others will say one I Am. John 4:23-24, From here on, worshiping the Father will not be a matter of the right place but with the right heart. We will have popsicle sticks with several different instructions to do things fashioned after the different ways to worship God. For example, sing Hallelujah, speak in tongues, lift their hands, get on their knees, lay prostrate on the floor, etc. When each child has gone, they will receive a word and work together to put the power verse in order. Psalm 16:5-11, 5 You, Lord, are all I have, and you give me all I need; my future is in your hands. 6 How wonderful are your gifts to me; how good they are! 7 I praise the Lord, because he guides me, and in the night my conscience warns me. 8 I am always aware of the Lord's presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me. 9 And so I am thankful and glad, and I feel completely secure, 10 because you protect me from the power of death. Our life should constantly worship the Lord. c. His presence is the source of our joy, fulfillment, and abundance. d. Out of our gratitude, we should love the Father. e. Our love for the Father is expressed through many ways: i. Obedience to God s Word. ii. Serving in the Ministry of Helps. iii. Praying what God leads us to pray. iv. Blessing others. f. If our life is one of worship, He leads and guides us. g. When we worship God with our life, others around us can see.

The music will change to praise music and the helper will praise the Lord. c. The music will stop but the helper continues to praise the Lord because they do not need music to praise and worship God. d.
