4 The Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, [All bow their heads, at the following text ] and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Universal Prayer At the conclusion, all recite the Hail Mary. THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST Offertory hymn page 5 Preparation of the Altar / Presentation of the Gifts If no chant or hymn is sung; the Priest may pray aloud, and all may respond:...blessed be God forever. a Stand V. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. R. It is right and just. At the end of the Preface, all sing: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest. The Eucharistic Prayer (kneel) Memorial Acclamation V. The mystery of faith R. We proclaim your death, O Lord and profess your resurrection until you come again. The Doxology At the conclusion, all reply: Amen. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace. V. Behold the Lamb of God... R/. Lord, I am not worthy, that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed. 4
5 Offertory : To Do Your Will O Waly Waly, Trad. English Public domain 1. To do your will, is our desire, to live in You, Lord, is our life. To spread Your love through all the earth, to find in you, the joy of life. 2. All of our days, we ll sing your praise, through all my nights, You are our life. You will shine forth through all the years, and joyously will bring us home. 3. We search this world so restlessly, seeking a home from hate and strife. We find in you the strength to see the meaning of this troubled life. 4. And so our God, we give to you these raining words, these restless rhymes, and take our lives, as a tribute to Your endless love for human kind. Communion antiphon: Refrain from My Tribute by Andraé Crouch To God be the glory! (3 times) for the things he has done. With His blood He has saved me. With His powʹr He has raised me. To God be the glory for the things He has done. CCLI Song # Andraé Crouch 1971 Bud John Songs, Inc. (Admin. by Capitol CMG Publishing) For use solely with the SongSelect Terms of Use. Prayer after receiving Holy Communion (said quietly) Jesus, I thank you with all my heart for coming to me and inviting me to be at this Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Grant that I may not forget the grace of this beautiful moment; let me remember during this day that you are living with me. 7 BEARING THE RIGHT KIND OF FRUIT Todayʹs readings focus our attention on vineyards. Isaiahʹs song concerning his friendʹs vineyard begins with inspiring and poetic images of an idyllic vineyard where the choicest harvest is expected. Instead, the vineyard yields wild grapes, which causes the owner to abandon it. The psalmist cries out to God, asking that God once again take care of the vineyard, which is the house of Israel. The parable told in todayʹs Gospel offers a stern warning that those who commit treachery in the hopes of attaining personal wealth will be ʺput... to a wretched deathʺ (Matthew 21:41). Jesus warns his listeners not to act like the murderous tenants in the vineyard. Instead he exhorts them to produce the kind of fruit that will lead them to the kingdom of God. Copyright (c) J. S. Hail, Holy Queen Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears! Turn, then, O most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. V/: Pray for us, O holy Mother of God. R/: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen. 7
