The regular chapel schedule will resume at the completion of the project. Stewardship Reflection Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed He told them, Let us go on to the nearby villages that I may preach there also. For this purpose have I come. - Mark 1:35, 38 In today s Gospel reading we see a perfect example of stewardship. Jesus gives His time to do all that God wishes - healing the sick and preaching. But before He begins, Jesus makes time to be alone with God in prayer. It is through prayer, spending time with God, that we find the strength to do what He wishes us to do. Be sure to find time every day to be with God.

Our annual breakfast is being moved from the 1st Sunday of March to Sunday, April 29th this year due to the renovation project. Protecting God s Children - Background Check Updates Archdiocesan policy mandates that all who work with children be in full compliance with the Safe Environment Program. Compliance involves: 1) attending a Protecting God s Children Workshop; 2) reading and signing a Code of Ethical Conduct; 3) completion of a FCSR background check before a person begins their ministry. This background check gets updated each even numbered year. 5 The Little Sisters of the Poor, who welcome aged poor persons and share their lives with them, will be visiting our parish Saturday, February 17 th and Sunday, February 18 th to speak of their mission within the Church, and to ask our help. Their Home, in North St. Louis, currently serves 80 needy elderly persons, age 65 or older, who are loved and cared for until death, so that they live in security and dignity. The heart of their mission is simply to provide a Home, so that those elderly, with whom the sisters joyfully share their lives, realize how much God loves them and wants them to be with Him forever in heaven. Throughout their history, the Little Sisters have depended on the collaboration of the laity to enable them to support their Residents and live their vocation. The Sisters will have envelopes available and will briefly speak at Mass to ask your support. Please make checks payable to the Little Sisters of the Poor. Sixteen months ago, the Sisters announced that they will be leaving the Archdiocese after 148 years. They have no intention of doing so until they find the right people to continue their mission to the poor. For that reason, there is no date set for their departure. In the meantime, Archbishop Carlson understands that they must continue to beg in order to keep the Home fires burning so that the work continues. Lifeline Coalition Collection The Lifeline Coalition campaign offers both financial and emotional support to women in crisis pregnancies and their babies. Thank you for your continued support. The power of prayer can change hearts and lives forever. Everyone is invited to participate in 40 Days for Life. Our parish day to witness at Planned Parenthood in St. Louis is February 21st from 11am to 3pm. We will be doing 2 hour shifts. Monthly Mass for Life of God s Precious Infants February 17th - 8am Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis After Mass Father leads us in praying the Rosary to Planned Parenthood where we witness and pray. There is Benediction at the Cathedral when we return. We leave from St. Paul at 6:45am.
