Please phone for an appointment with a priest. BAPTISM Baptism is celebrated the fourth Sunday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Registration by appointment only. Please contact the rectory at least two months in advance of your requested Baptism date. Both parents are required to be present at the registration. Please bring the child s birth certificate to the registration and Godparent s updated copies and their Baptismal, Communion and Confirmation certificates. PARISH MISSION STATEMENT The Parish of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is a Roman Catholic community of the disciples of Jesus Christ called together by the Holy Spirit to worship and serve God our Father. Alert to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we proclaim our Faith and enrich our members spiritually through the Sacred Liturgy as we educate them in our Religious Tradition. Cherishing the heritage we have received from dedicated clergy, religious, and parishioners who came before us, we encourage one another to place our gifts at the service of the Kingdom of God as good stewards. As men and women of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds we welcome everyone as we invite new members to join our parish family. We strive to provide an atmosphere of acceptance in which each member feels recognized and valued, as we cooperate with our neighbors in the community to promote the common good. Harvest Breakfast will be held on Sunday, October 25 immediately following the 10:30am Mass, in the Parish Hall. Rolls, bagels, danish, muffins, coffee and juice will be served. Price per person is $5.00, free for children 5 years and under. Tickets will be available after the Sunday 10:30am Masses on October 11th and October 18th, or at the rectory (Monday thru Friday from 9am- 4:30pm). Harvest Breakfast is being hosted by our OLMM Young Adult Leadership Group. All are welcome, please join us. We look forward to seeing you! Religious Education Office Parent Meeting with student for all enrolled in our Parish Confirmation Program for the 7th grade (Confirmation in 2016) will take place on Wednesday, October 14 at 7:00pm in the St. John II Center (please use Bleecker St. door). All of the men of the parish are invited to join our Holy Name Society. Beer, soda and food served at all of our meetings Mass Book January through June The Mass Book will be opened for dating your intentions from January through June on Tuesday, October 20th from 9:00am to 12:00 noon in the JPII Center (lower church). For the first month of the books opening, households will be limited to two (2) weekend Masses (Saturday vigil/sunday) to enable everyone to have at least some of their requests honored. Please consider doubling up your intentions. Please do not ask us to make exceptions. Intentions for Altar Bread Wine and Candles, the Sanctuary Lamp, as well as Altar Flowers will also be taken from January through June only. Donations are as follows: Mass Intention $20.00 Altar Flowers $ Sanctuary Lamp $35.00 Altar Bread, Wine & Candles $35.00 Your intention will be published in our bulletin and will be remembered for the entire week. Recognition may be made in memory of, in honor of, in celebration of, or in thanksgiving to God for, life milestones. The Sanctuary Lamp (Tabernacle Lamp) is the red light that burns indicating the presence of the Blessed Sacrament in the Tabernacle in the Church. A special lamp must burn night and day before the tabernacle in which the Blessed Sacrament is reserved, to indicate and honor the presence of Christ. It signifies Christ s abiding love and a reminder to the faithful to respond with loving adoration in return. Filipino Prayer Service to the Devine Mercy Saturday, October 17 at 3:00 pm The Servants of the Black Nazarene Ministry in coordination with the Filipino Immigrants of the Diocese of Brooklyn & Queens invites you to join them at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church for a Prayer Service to the Devine Mercy.
