1 Dua 47 (Sahifa Sajjadiya) Dua of Imam Zainul Abideen for the Day of Arafah ز غ ٱ ٠ ٱ ش ح ٱ ش ح In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. خ ٢ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ح ذ O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, خ ح ذ هلل س ذ خ ق د. "Praise belongs to God, Lord of the worlds" (1:2)! ؤ ٢ خ ح ذ ز ذ ٩ خ غ ٤ خض ٣ خأل س ض O God, to Thee belongs praise! Originator of the heavens and the earth! ر خ خ ف ال ٣ خإل ش خ Possessor of majesty and munificence! س ذ خال س ز دذ ٣ ب ٠ إ ٤ Lord of lords! Object of worship of every worshiper!

2 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 2 ٣ خ د خ ٤ Creator of every creature! ٣ ٣ خس غ ش ٨ ء ظ ؽ ٠ ش ٨ ء Inheritor of all things! "There is nothing like Him" (42:11), ٣ ال ٩ ق ض ذ ف ٠ ف ش ٨ ء knowledge of nothing escapes Him, ٤ ١ ٣ ز ش ٨ ء ح ظ He "encompasses everything" (41:54), ٤ ١ ٣ ف ٦ ش ٨ ء س ر and He is watchful over everything (ref.33:52). ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بال ؤ ط خال ح ذ خ ع ٤ ح ذ خ ي ش د خ ع ي ش د Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the Unique, the Alone, the Single, the Isolated. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بال ؤ ط خ ش ٩ خ ع ش Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the Generous, the Generously Bestowing,

3 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 3 خ ق ؾ خ ع ق ؾ خ س ش خ ع س ش. the All-mighty, the Mightily Exalted, the Magnificent, the Magnificently Magnified. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بال ؤ ط خ ق ٨ خ ع ق د خ ش ذ ٩ ذ خ ح د. Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the All-high, the Sublimely High, "the Strong in prowess" (13:13). ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بال ؤ ط خ ش ح خ ش ح خ ق خ ح. Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the All-merciful, the Allcompassionate, the All-knowing, the All-wise. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بالأ ؤ ط خ غ خ س ي ش خ ذ ٩ خ خ س ش Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the All-hearing, the Allseeing, the Eternal, the All-aware. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بالأ ؤ ط خ ش ٩ خال ش خ ذ خج خالد ٣ Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the Generous, the Most Generous, the Everlasting, the Most Everlasting. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بالأ ؤ ط خال ٣ Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the First

4 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 4 س ؤ ح ذ ٣ خال خ ش ز ق ذ ف ذ د before every one, the Last after every number. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بالأ ؤ ط خ ذ خ ٨ ى ٨ ف ٤ Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, the Close in His highness, ٣ خ ق د ٨ ى ٨ د ٤ the High in His closeness. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بال ؤ ط ر ٣ خ س ٢ دء ٣ خ ف ذ ٣ خ س ش ٩ دء ٣ خ ح ذ. Thou art God, there is no god but Thou, Possessor of radiance and glory, magnificence and praise. ٣ ؤ ط خهلل ال ب ٠ بالأ ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ؤ ش إ ض خالش دء م ش ع خ Thou art God, there is no god but Thou. Thou hast brought forth the things without root, ٣ ص ٤ س ض د ص ٤ س ض م ش ؽد

5 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 5 formed what Thou hast formed without exemplar, ٣ خز ع ذ ف ط خ س ع ذ ف دض ز ال خح ع ز آء. and originated the originated things without limitation. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ذ س ض ش ٨ ء ظ ذ ٩ شخ It is Thou who hast ordained each thing with an ordination, ٩ ٣ غ ش ض ش ٨ ء ظ غ شخ eased each thing with an easing, ٣ د ز ش ض د د ٣ ظ ذ ز شخ. and governed everything below Thyself with a governing. ٣ ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ٩ ق ف ٦ خ ش ش ٩ It is Thou whom no associate helps with Thy creation ٩ اخص س ٣ ى ٨ ؤ ش ٣ ص ٩ ش and no vizier aids in Thy command. ٩ ٣ ش د ١ ذ ٣ ال ؾ ش. Thou hast no witness and no equal.

6 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 6 ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ؤ س د ض ى د ح ع د د ؤ س د ض It is Thou who willed, and what Thou willed was unfailing, ٣ ض ط ى د ف ذ ال د ض ط who decreed, and what Thou decreed was just, ٣ ح ط ى د ي يد د ح ط who decided, and what Thou decided was fair. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ال ٩ ح ٩ ٤ د It is Thou whom place does not contain, ٩ ٣ غ غ د ع غ د before whose authority no authority stands up, ٩ ق ٣ ز ش ١ د ٣ ال ز د. and whom no proof or explication can thwart. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ؤ ح ي ط ش ٨ ء ف ذ د خ It is Thou who hast counted everything in numbers,

7 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 7 ٣ ق ط ش ٨ ء ؤ ذخ appointed for everything a term, ٣ ذ س ض ش ٨ ء ظ ذ ٩ شخ. and ordained everything with an ordination. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ي ش ض خال ١ ٣ د ف ر خظ ع It is Thou before whose selfness imaginations fall short, ٣ ف ف ض ض خالى ٢ د ف ي ع before whose howness understandings have no incapacity, ٣ ظ ذ س خالز ي دس ٤ ض ؤ ٩ ع. and the place of whose whereness eyes perceive not. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ال ظ ح ذ ى ع ٤ ح ذ ٣ دخ It is Thou who hast no bounds, lest Thou be bounded, ٣ ظ ؽ ى ع ٤ ٤ ٤ دخ who art not exemplified, lest Thou be found,

8 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 8 ٣ ظ ذ ى ع ٤ ٤ ٤ دخ. who dost not beget, lest Thou be begotten. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ ال ض ذ ق ى ق د ذ It is Thou with whom there is no opposite, lest it contend with Thee, ٣ ال ف ذ ى دؼ ش ٣ ال ذ ى ق دس ض. who hast no equal, lest it vie with Thee, who hast no rival, lest it resist Thee. ؤ ط خ ز ٧ خز ع ذ ؤ ٣ خخ ع ش ؿ It is Thou who art He who began, devised, ٣ خع ع ح ذ غ ٣ خز ع ذ ؿ brought forth, originated, ٣ ؤ ح غ ص د ص and made well all that He made. ع س حد! د ؤ ش إ Glory be to Thee! How majestic is Thy station!

How cleanly Thy Separator cleaves with the truth! ع س ح د غ و د ؤ غ ي Glory be to Thee! The Gentle - how gentle Thou art! ٣ س ئ ٣ ه د ؤ س ؤ ى ٣ ح د ؤ ف ش ى! The Clement - how clement Thou art! The Wise - how knowing Thou art! ع س ح د د ؤ ق Glory be to Thee! The King - how invincible Thou art! ٣ ٤ خد د ؤ ٣ ع ق ٣ س ى د ؤ س ى ق The Munificent - how full of plenty Thou art! The Elevated - how elevated Thou art! ر ٣ خ س ٢ دء ٣ خ ف ذ ٣ خ س ش ٩ دء ٣ خ ح ذ. Possessor of radiance and glory, magnificence and praise!

10 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 10 ع س ح د ز غ غ ط ز د خ ش خض ٩ ذ Glory be to Thee! Thou hast stretched forth Thy hand with good things, ٣ ف ش ى ط خ ٢ ذ خ ٩ ص ف ذ and from Thee guidance has come to be known, ى خ ع غ ذ ٩ ؤ ٣ د د ٣ ذ. so he who begs from Thee religion or this world will find Thee. ع س ح د خ ض ش ٥ ى ٨ ف Glory be to Thee! Whatever passes in Thy knowledge is subjected to Thee, ٣ خ ش ق ؾ ع د د ٣ ف ش ش all below Thy Throne are humbled before Thy mightiness, ٣ خ دد ع غ خ. and every one of Thy creatures follows Thee in submission. ع س ح د ال ظ ح ظ ٣ ال ظ ف ظ ٣ ال ظ ظ Glory be to Thee! Thou art not sensed, nor touched, nor felt,

11 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 11 ٣ ال ظ دد ٣ ال ظ دط ٣ ال ظ دص ؿ ٣ ال ظ ف دس ٥ nor beguiled, nor held back, nor challenged, nor kept up with, ٣ ال ظ دس ٥ ٣ ال ظ خ دد ؿ ٣ ال ظ د ش. nor resisted, nor deceived, nor circumvented. ع س ح د ع س ذ د ٣ ؤ ش س ش ذ ٣ ؤ ط ح ٨ ص ذ. Glory be to Thee! Thy path is smooth ground, Thy command right guidance, and Thou art a living, eternal refuge. ع س ح د ٤ ح ٣ ض أئ ح ع ٣ بس خد ظ ف ض. Glory be to Thee! Thy word is decisive, Thy decree unfailing, Thy will resolute. ع س ح د ال س خد ش ع ٣ ال س ذ دظ. Glory be to Thee! None can reject Thy wish, none can change Thy words. ع س ح د ز د ١ ش خال ٩ أض ى دع ش خ غ ٤ خض ز دس ت خ غ دض. Glory be to Thee, Outdazzling in signs, Creator of the heavens, Author of the spirits!

12 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 12 خ ح ذ ح ذ خ ٩ ذ ٣ ز ذ ٣ خ To Thee belongs praise, a praise that will be permanent with Thy permanence! ٣ خ ح ذ ح ذخ خ د ذخ ز ق ع To Thee belongs praise, a praise everlasting through Thy favour! ٣ خ ح ذ ح ذخ ٤ ٩ خص ٧ ص ق To Thee belongs praise, a praise that will parallel Thy benefaction! ٣ خ ح ذ ح ذخ ٩ ض ٩ ذ ف ٦ س ض د To Thee belongs praise, a praise that will increase Thy good pleasure! ٣ خ ح ذ ح ذخ ح ذ ح د ذ To Thee belongs praise, a praise along with the praise of every praiser ٣ ش شخ ٩ ي ش ف ٠ ش ش ش د ش and a thanksgiving before which falls short the thanksgiving of every thanksgiver;

13 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 13 ح ذخ ال ٩ س ن ٨ بال a praise which is suitable for none but Thee ٣ ال ٩ ع ش ذ ز ٠ بال ب and through which nearness is sought to none but Thee; ح ذخ ٩ غ ع ذ خ ز ٠ خال ٣ a praise which will make permanent the first [bounty] ٩ ٣ غ ع ذ ف ٦ ز ٠ د ٣ خ خالخ ش and call forth the permanence of the last; ح ذخ ٩ ع ض دف و ف ٦ ش ٣ س خال ص ص a praise which will multiply through recurrence of times ٩ ٣ ع ض خ ٩ ذ ؤ ض ق دى د ع ش خد ى ص and increase through successive doublings; ح ذخ ٩ ق ف ض ف بح ي أج ٠ خ ح ي ؾ ص a praise which the guardians will not be able to number

14 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 14 ٩ ٣ ض ٩ ذ ف ٦ د ؤ ح ي ع ٠ ى ٨ عدز خ ع س ص and which exceeds what the writers number in Thy Book; ح ذخ ٤ ٩ خص ف ش ش خ ف ذ a praise which will counterbalance Thy glorious Throne ٩ ٣ ق دد ش ع خ ش ى and equal Thy elevated Footstool; ح ذخ ٩ ذ ٩ ؼ ٤ خز ٠ a praise whose reward with Thee will be complete ٩ ٣ غ ع ن ش ض آء ض آئ and whose recompense will comprise every recompense; ح ذخ ؽ د ١ ش ٣ ى س دع ٠ a praise whose outward conforms to its inward, ٣ ز دع ٠ ٣ ى ي ذ خ ص and whose inward conforms to correct intention;

15 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 15 ح ذخ ٩ ح ذ خ ؽ ٠ a praise with whose like no creature has praised Thee ٣ ال ٩ ق ش ه ؤ ح ذ ع ٤ خ ى ض ٠ and whose excellence none knows but Thou; ح ذخ ٩ ق د خ ع ٢ ذ ى ٨ ظ ق ذ ٩ ذ a praise in which he who strives to multiply Thy praise will be helped ٩ ٣ ا ٩ ذ ؤ م ش ض ف د ى ٨ ظ ٤ ى ع ٠ and he who draws the bow to the utmost in fulfilling it will be confirmed; ح ذخ ٩ ف د خ ط خ ح ذ a praise which will gather all the praise which Thou hast created ٩ ٣ ع ؾ د ؤ ط خ د ٠ ز ق ذ and tie together all which Thou wilt afterwards create; ح ذخ ال ح ذ ؤ ش ذ ب ٦ ٠ ٤ a praise than which no praise is nearer to Thy word

16 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 16 ٣ ال ؤ ح ذ ٩ ح ذ ز ٠ and than which none is greater from any who praise Thee; ح ذخ ٤ ٩ ر ز ش خ ض ٩ ذ ز ٤ ى ٤ س a praise whose fullness will obligate increase through Thy generosity ٣ ظ ي ٠ ز ض ٩ ذ ز ق ذ ض ٩ ذ ع ٤ ال and to which Thou wilt join increase after increase as graciousness from Thee; ح ذخ ٩ ف ر ش ٣ ٢ ٩ ٣ دز ف ض ال. a praise that will befit the generosity of Thy face and meet the might of Thy majesty! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ح ذ My Lord, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, خ ع ف ر خ ي غ ي ٦ the distinguished, the chosen, خ ش خ ش ذ ؤ ى ض ص ٤ خظ

17 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 17 the honoured, the brought nigh, with the most excellent of Thy blessings, ٣ زدس ف ٠ ؤ ظ ز ش دظ benedict him with the most complete of Thy benedictions, ٣ ظ ش ح ف ٠ ؤ ع س ح دظ. and have mercy upon him with the most enjoyable of Thy mercies! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ ص ال ش ص خ ص My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household with a fruitful blessing, ال ظ ٤ ص ال ش ؤ ص ٦ ٢ د more fruitful than which there is no blessing! ٣ ص ف ٠ ص ال ش د ص Bless him with a growing blessing, ال ظ ٤ ص الش ؤ ٦ ٢ د more growing than which there is no blessing!

18 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 18 ٣ ص ف ٠ ص الش س خض ص And bless him with a pleasing blessing, ال ظ ٤ ص الش ى ٢ ٤ د. beyond which there is no blessing! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household ص ال ش ظ ش ض ٠ ٣ ظ ض ٩ ذ ف ٦ س ض د with a blessing which will please him and increase his good pleasure! ٣ ص ف ٠ ص ال ش ظ ش ض ٣ ظ ض ٩ ذ ف ٦ س ض د ٠ Bless him with a blessing which will please Thee and increase Thy good pleasure toward him! ٣ ص ف ٠ ص ال ش ال ظ ش ض ٦ ٠ بال ز ٢ د And bless him with a blessing through other than which Thou wilt not be pleased for him, ٣ ال ظ ش ٥ م ش ٢ د ؤ ١ ال.

19 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 19 and for which Thou seest no one else worthy! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household ص ال ش ظ ف د ٣ ص س ض ٤ خ ٩ ٣ ع ي خظ ي د ٢ د ز س أج with a blessing which will pass beyond Thy good pleasure, be continuous in its continuity through Thy subsistence, ٣ ال ٩ ي ذ د ال ظ ي ذ دظ. and never be spent, just as Thy words will never be spent! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household ٣ آ ٠ ص ال ش ظ ع ؾ ص ٤ خض الج ع with a blessing which will tie together the blessings of Thy angels, ٣ ؤ س أج ٣ س ع ٣ ؤ ١ ع دف ع. Thy prophets, Thy messengers, and those who obey Thee, ٣ ظ ش ع ف ٦ ص ٤ خض ف س دد

20 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 20 comprise the blessings of Thy servants, أ ٣ ب غ ٣ ؤ ١ ب دز ع jinn or mankind, and those worthy of Thy response, ٣ ظ ف ع ف ٦ ص ال ش ر س ؤ ض ٣ ز ش ؤ ض ؤ ص ده خ. and bring together the blessings of every one of the kinds of Thy creatures which Thou hast sown and authored! س ذ ص ف ٠ ٣ آ ٠ My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household ص ال ش ظ ح ظ ز ص ال ش ع د ي ص ٣ غ ع إ ي ص with a blessing which will encompass every blessing, bygone and new! ٣ ص ف ٠ ٣ ف ٦ آ ٠ Bless him and his Household ص ال ش ش ض ص ٣ د ٣ with a blessing which is pleasing to Thee and everyone below Thee

21 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 21 ٣ ظ ش ث ر ص ٤ خض ظ ض دف و ق ٢ د ظ خ ي ٤ خض ف ذ ١ د and will bring forth with all that a blessing with which Thou wilt multiply those blessings ٣ ظ ض ٩ ذ ١ د ف ٦ ش ٣ س خال ٩ د ص ٩ دد ش and increase them through the recurrence of days with an increasing ى ٨ ظ ض دف و ال ٩ ق ذ ١ د م ش. in multiples which none can count but Thou! س ذ ص ف ٦ ؤ ع دج ر ؤ ١ ز ع ٠ My Lord, bless the best of his Household, خ ز ٩ خخ ع ش ظ ٢ ال ش those whom Thou hast chosen for Thy command, ٣ ق ع ٢ خ ض ص ف ٣ ح ي ؾ ص د ٩ appointed the treasurers of Thy knowledge, the guardians of Thy religion,

22 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 22 ٣ خ ي أء ى ٨ ؤ س ض ٣ ح ف ف ف ٦ ف س دد Thy vicegerents in Thy earth, and Thy arguments against Thy servants, ٣ ع ٢ ش ظ ٢ خ ش ظ ٣ خ ذ ظ ظ غ ٢ شخ ز ةس خد ظ purified from uncleanness and defilement through a purification by Thy desire (ref:33:33), ٣ ق ع ٢ خ ٤ ع ص ب ٣ خ غ ب ٦ ع and made the mediation to Thee and the road to Thy Garden! س ذ ص ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ My Lord, bless Muhammad and his Household ص الش ظ ف ض ٢ ز ٢ د ح ٣ ش خ ع with a blessing which makes plentiful Thy gifts and generosity, ٣ ظ ٢ خال ش أء ف غ د ٩ د ٤ ٣ خى perfects for them Thy bestowals and awards, ٣ ظ ٤ ى ش ف ٢ خ ح ؼ ف ٤ خج ذ ٣ ى ٤ خج ذ. and fills out their share of Thy kindly acts and benefits!

23 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 23 س ذ ص ف ٠ ٣ ف ٢ ص ال ش ال ؤ ذ ى ٨ ؤ ٢ ٣ د My Lord, bless him and his Household with a blessing whose first has no term, ٣ ال م د ٩ ص ال ذ ١ د ٣ ال ٢ د ٩ ص ال خ ش ١ د. whose term has no limit, and whose last has no utmost end! س ذ ص ف ٢ ص ص ف ش ش ٣ د د ٠ ٣ My Lord, bless them to the weight of Thy Throne and all below it, ٣ ء ع ٤ خظ ٣ د ى ٢ ٤ the amount that fills the heavens and all above them, ٣ ف ذ د ؤ س ض ٣ د ظ ح ع ٢ ٣ د ز ٢ the number of Thy earths and all below and between them, ص ال ش ظ ش ز ٢ ص ي ٦ ٣ ظ ٤ ٢ ٣ س ض ٦ a blessing that will bring them near to Thee in proximity, please Thee and them, ٣ ع ي ص ز ؾ دج ش ١ ؤ ز ذخ. and be joined to its likes forever!

24 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 24 ؤ ٢ ب ؤ ٩ ذ ض د ٩ ى ٨ ؤ ٣ خ O God, surely Thou hast confirmed Thy religion in all times ز ة د ؤ ع ٠ ف د ق س دد ٣ دس خ ى ٨ ز ال د with an Imam whom Thou hast set up as a guidepost to Thy servants and a lighthouse in Thy lands, ز ق ذ ؤ ٣ ص ط ح س ٠ ز ح س after his cord has been joined to Thy cord! ٣ ق ع ٠ خ ز س ٩ ق ص ب ٦ س ض ٤ خ Thou hast appointed him the means to Thy good pleasure, ٣ خى ع ش ض ط ع دف ع ٠ ٣ ح ز س ض ق ي ع ٠ made obeying him obligatory, cautioned against disobeying him, ٣ ؤ ش ض ز د ع ؽ د ؤ ٣ خ ش ٣ خال ع ٢ أء ف ذ ٢ ٠ and commanded following his commands, abandoning what he has prohibited,

25 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 25 ٣ ؤ ال ٩ ع ذ ٠ ع ذ ٣ ال ٩ ع إ خ ش ف ٠ ع إ خ ش ى ٤ ٢ ف ي ص خ ال ج ز ٩ and that no forward-goer go ahead of him or back-keeper keep back from him! So he is the preservation of the shelter-seekers, ٢ ٣ و خ ا ٣ ف ش ٣ ش خ ع غ ٣ ز ٢ أء خ ق د. the cave of the faithful, the handhold of the adherents, and the radiance of the worlds! ؤ ٢ ى إ ٣ ص ؿ ٤ ش ش د ؤ ق ط ز ٠ ف ٠ O God, so inspire Thy guardian to give thanks for that in which Thou hast favoured him, ٣ ؤ ٣ ص ف د ؽ ٠ ى ٠ ٣ آظ ٠ ذ ع غ د د ي شخ inspire us with the like concerning him, grant him 'an authority from Thee to help him' (ref.17:80), ٣ خى ع ح ٠ ى ع حد ٩ غ شخ ٣ ؤ ف ٠ ز ش خالف ض open for him an easy opening, aid him with Thy mightiest pillar, ٣ خش ذ د ؤ ص س ٤ ٣ ف ض ذ ٣ س خف ٠ ز ق

26 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 26 brace up his back, strengthen his arm, guard him with Thy eye, ٣ خح ٠ ز ح ي ؾ ٣ خ ي ش ز الج ع defend him with Thy safeguarding, help him with Thy angels, ٣ خ ذ د ز ف ذ خال م ر ٣ ؤ ز ٠ ع دز ٣ ح ذ ٣ د and assist him with Thy most victorious troops! Through him establish Thy Book, Thy bounds, ٣ ش ش خج ق ٣ ع س ع ٤ ص ٤ خظ خ ٢ ف ٠ ٣ آ ٠ Thy laws, and the norms of Thy Messenger's Sunna (Thy blessings, O God, be upon him and his Household), ٣ ؤ ح ٨ ز ٠ د ؤ دظ ٠ خ ؾ د ٤ ق د د ٩ bring to life the guideposts of Thy religion, deadened by the wrongdoers, ٣ خ ز ٠ ص ذ آء خ ف ٤ س ف ع ش ٩ ع burnish the rust of injustice from Thy way, ٣ ؤ ز ز ٠ خ ض ش آء ع س sift the adversity from Thy road,

27 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 27 ٣ ؤ ص ز ٠ خ د س ف ص ش خع eliminate those who deviate from Thy path, ٣ خ ح ز ٠ ز ن دش ي ذ ف ٤ د and erase those who seek crookedness in Thy straightness! ٣ ؤ د س ٠ ال ٣ أج ٣ خز غ ظ ٩ ذ ف ٦ ؤ ف ذ خج Make his side mild toward Thy friends, stretch forth his hand over Thy enemies, ١ ٣ ر د س ؤ ى ع ٠ ٣ س ح ع ٠ ٣ ظ ق غ ي ٠ ٣ ظ ح ٠ give us his clemency, his mercy, his tenderness, his sympathy, ٣ خ ق د ٠ ع د ق غ ق ٣ ى ٨ س ض د ع دف and make us his hearers and obeyers, strivers toward his good pleasure, ٣ ب ٦ ي ش ظ ٠ ٣ خ ذ خى ق ص ف ٠ ي assistants in helping him and defending him, ٣ ب ٣ ب ٦ س ع ٤ ص ٤ خظ and brought near through that to Thee and Thy Messenger

30 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 30 ٣ خ ق د ق ٢ ى ٨ د خس خ غ ال ز ش ح ع ٩ د ؤ س ح خ ش خح. and place us with them in the Abode of Peace, through Thy mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful! ؤ ٢ ١ ز خ ٤ ٩ ف ش ى ص O God, this is the Day of 'Arafa, ٤ ٩ ش ش ى ع ٠ ٣ ش ع ٠ ٣ ف ؾ ع ٠ ش ش ض ى ٠ س ح ع a day which Thou hast made noble, given honour, and magnified. Within it Thou hast spread Thy mercy, ٣ ط ى ٠ ز ق ي ٤ ٣ ؤ ض ط ى ٠ ف غ ع showed kindness through Thy pardon, and made plentiful Thy giving, ٣ ظ ي ض ط ز ٠ ف ٦ ف س دد. and by it Thou hast been bounteous toward Thy servants. ؤ ٢ ٣ ؤ د ف س ذ خ ز ٧ ؤ ق ط ف ٠ س خ ٠ ٣ ز ق ذ خ ب ٩ د

31 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 31 I am Thy servant whom Thou favoured before creating him and after creating him. ى ف ق ع ٠ ١ ذ ٩ ع ٠ ذ ٩ Thou madest him one of those whom Thou guided to Thy religion, ٣ ٣ ى ع ٠ ح ٣ ف ي ع ٠ ز ح س gavest success in fulfilling Thy right, preserved through Thy cord, ٣ ؤ د خ ع ٠ ى ٨ ح ض ز ٣ ؤ س ش ذ ظ ٠ ٤ خال ش ؤ ٣ أج included within Thy party, and directed aright to befriend Thy friends ٣ ق دد خش ؤ ف ذ خج ؼ ؤ ش ظ ٠ ى ٩ إ ظ ش and show enmity to Thine enemies. Then Thou commanded him, but he did not follow Thy commands, ٣ ص ش ظ ٠ ى ٩ ض ش ٢ ٣ ع ٠ ف ق ي ع ى خ د و ؤ ش ب ٦ ٢ Thou restricted Him, but he did not heed Thy restrictions, Thou prohibited him from disobedience toward Thee, but he broke Thy command by doing what Thou hadst prohibited,

32 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 32 ال ق د ذ ش ٣ ال خع ع س دسخ ف not in contention with Thee, nor to display pride toward Thee; ز د ف د ٤ ١ خ ب ٦ د ص ٩ ع ٠ ٣ ب ٦ د ح ز س ظ ٠ on the contrary, his caprice called him to that which Thou hadst set apart and cautioned against, ٣ ؤ ف د ٠ ف ٦ رخ ف ذ ٣ ٣ ف ذ ٣ and he was helped in that by Thy enemy and his enemy. ى إ ذ ف ٠ ف دس ىد ز ٤ ف ذ س خ د ق ي ٤ So he went ahead with it knowing Thy threat, hoping for Thy pardon, ٣ خؼ د ز ع ف د ٣ ص ٣ د ؤ ح ف س دد and relying upon Thy forbearance, though he was the most obligated of Thy servants د ط ف ٠ ؤ ال ٩ ي ق - given Thy kindness toward him - not to do so. ١ ٣ د ؤ د ر خ ز ٩ ذ ٩ ص دم شخ

33 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 33 Here I am, then, before Thee, despised, ر ال خ دض ق د خ دش قد خ دج ي د lowly, humble, abject, fearful, ق ع ش ىد ز ق ؾ خ ز ٤ ذ ظ ح ع ٠ confessing the dreadful sins with which I am burdened ٣ خ خ غ د ٩ د خ ع ش ع ٠ and the great offenses that I have committed, غ ع ف شخ ز ي ي ح الج زخ ز ش ح ع seeking sanctuary in Thy forgiveness, asking shelter in Thy mercy, ٤ د ؤ ٠ ال ٩ ف ش ٨ ف ش and certain that no sanctuary-giver will give me sanctuary from Thee ٣ ال ٩ ق ٨ د. and no withholder will hold me back from Thee. ى ق ذ ف ٨ ز د ظ ق ٤ د ز ٠ ف ٦ خ ع ش ه ظ ن ذ

34 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 34 So act kindly toward me, just as Thou actest kindly by Thy shielding him who commits sins, ٣ ذ ف ٨ ز د ظ ف ٤ د ز ٠ ف ٦ ؤ ٦ ز ذ ب ف ي ٤ be munificent toward me, just as Thou art munificent by pardoning him who throws himself before Thee, ٣ خ ف ٨ ز د ال ٩ ع ق دؽ and show kindness to me, just as it is nothing great for Thee ؤ ظ ز ٠ ف ٦ ؤ م ي ش خ to show kindness by forgiving him who expectantly hopes in Thee! ٣ خ ق ٨ ى ٨ ١ ز خ خ ٤ ي سد ؤ د ز ٠ ح أؾد س ض ٤ خ Appoint for me in this day an allotment through which I may attain a share of Thy good pleasure, ٣ ال ظ ش د ٨ ص ي شخ د ٩ ر ز ٠ خ ع ق س ذ ٣ ف س دد

35 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 35 and send me not back destitute of that with which Thy worshipers return from among Thy servants! ٣ ب ٨ ٣ ب ؤ ذ د ذ ٤ خ ي د ح دض Though I have not forwarded the righteous deeds which they have forwarded, ى ذ ذ ط ظ ٤ ح ذ I have forwarded the profession of Thy Unity ٣ ي ٨ خال ض ذ خد ٣ خال ذ خد ٣ خالش س د ف and the negation from Thee of opposites, rivals, and likenesses, ٣ ؤ ظ ع خال ز ٤ خذ خ ع ٨ ؤ ش ض ؤ ظ ا ظ ٦ ٢ د I have come to Thee by the gateways by which Thou hast commanded that people come, ٣ ظ ش ز ط ب ز د ال ٩ ش ذ and I have sought nearness to Thee through that, without seeking nearness through which, ؤ ح ذ بال ز د ع ش ذ ز ٠ none gains nearness to Thee.

36 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 36 ؼ ؤ ظ س ق ط ر ز دال دز ص ب Then I followed all this with repeated turning toward Thee, ٣ خ ع ز ٣ خالع ع د ص ٣ ح غ خ ؾ ز ٣ خ ؽ ص ز د ف ذ lowliness and abasement before Thee, good opinion of Thee, and trust in what is with Thee; ٣ ش ي ق ع ٠ ز ش أج and to that I coupled hope in Thee, خ ز ٧ د ٩ خ ر ف ٠ س خ since the one who hopes in Thee is seldom disappointed! ٣ ع إ ع غ إ ص خ ح ش خ زأ I asked Thee with the asking of one vile, lowly, خ س دج ظ خ ي ش خ خ دج و خ غ ع ف ش pitiful, poor, fearful, seeking sanctuary; ٣ ر خ ي ص ٣ ظ ض ش فد ٣ ظ ق ٤ رخ ٣ ظ ٤ رخ

37 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 37 all that in fear and pleading, seeking refuge and asking shelter, ال غ ع غ ال ز ع س ش خ ع س ش ٩ not presumptuous through the pride of the proud, ٣ ال ع ق د د ز ذخ ص خ غ ق nor exalting myself with the boldness of the obedient, ٣ ال غ ع غ ال ز ش ي دف ص خ ش دى ق nor presumptuous of the intercession of the interceders. ٣ ؤ د ز ق ذ ؤ خال ٣ ؤ ر خال ر For I am still the least of the least and the lowliest of the lowly, ٣ ؽ خ ز س ش ؤ ٣ د ٢ ٣ د. like a dust mote or less! ى د ٩ ق د خ غ ح ٣ ال ٩ ذ خ ع ش ى O He who does not hurry the evildoers nor restrain those living in ease! ٩ ٣ د ٩ ز ة د ص خ ق دؼ ش ٩ ٩ ٣ ع ي ض زة ؾ دس خ خ دع ح

38 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 38 O He who shows kindness through releasing the stumblers and gratuitous bounty through respiting the offenders! ؤ د خ غ ٨ ء خ ق ع ش ه خ خ دع ث خ ق دؼ ش I am the evildoer, the confessor, the offender, the stumbler! ؤ د خ ز ٧ ؤ ذ ف ف ع ش جد I am he who was audacious toward Thee as one insolent! ؤ د خ ز ٧ ف ي د ع ق ذخ I am he who disobeyed Thee with forethought! ؤ د خ ز ٧ خع ع خ ي ٦ ف س دد ٣ ز دس ص I am he who hid myself from Thy servants and blatantly showed myself to Thee! ؤ د خ ز ٧ ١ دذ ف س دد ٣ ؤ I am he who was awed by Thy servants and felt secure from Thee! ؤ د خ ز ٧ ٩ ش ١ ر ع غ ٤ ظ ٩ خ و ٣ ز إ ع I am he who dreaded not Thy penalty and feared not Thy severity! ؤ د خ ف د ٨ ف ٦ ي غ ٠ ؤ د خ ش ظ ٢ ز س ع ٠

41 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 41 proximity to Thee, and rank with Thee! ٣ ظ ٤ ح ذ ٨ ز د ظ ع ٤ ح ذ ز ٠ ٣ ى ٦ ز ق ٢ ذ Single me out, as Thou singlest him out who fulfils Thy covenant, ٣ ؤ ظ ق ر ي غ ٠ ى ٨ ر خظ ٣ ؤ ٢ ذ ١ د ى ٨ ش ض دظ fatigues himself for Thy sake alone, and exerts himself in Thy good pleasure! ٣ ال ظ ا خخ ز ٨ ز ع ي ش ٩ غ ٨ ى ٨ س Take me not to task for my neglect in respect to Thee, ٣ ظ ق ذ ٧ ع ٤ س ٧ ى ٨ ح ذ ٣ د ٣ ف د ٣ ص ش ؤ ح د. my transgressing the limit in Thy bounds, and stepping outside Thy ordinances! ٣ ال ظ غ ع ذ س ٨ ز ة الج ٨ Draw me not on little by little by granting me a respite, خع ع ذ س خؾ ق ٨ خ ش د ف ذ like the drawing on little by little of him who withholds from me the good he has

42 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 42 ٩ ش ش ٣ ى ٨ ح ٤ ق ع ٠ ز ٨ by not sharing with Thee in letting favour down upon me! ٣ س ٨ ٢ س ذ ش خ ن دى Arouse me from the sleep of the heedless, ٣ ع ص خ غ ش ى ٣ ق غ ص خ خ ز ٣. the slumber of the prodigal, and the dozing of the forsaken! ٣ خ ز ز س ٨ ب ٦ د خع ع ق ط ز ٠ خ د ع Take my heart to that in which Thou hast employed the devout, ٣ خع ع ق س ذ ض ز ٠ خ ع ق س ذ ٩ ٣ خع ع ز ض ز ٠ خ ع ٢ د ٣ enthralled the worshipers, and rescued the remiss! ٣ ؤ ف ز ٨ د ٩ س دف ذ ٨ ف Give me refuge from that which will keep me far from Thee, ٩ ٣ ح ٤ ز ٨ ٣ ز ح ؾ ٨ come between me and my share from Thee,

43 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 43 ٩ ٣ ي ذ ٨ ف د ؤ ح د ٣ ذ ٩. and bar me from that which I strive for in Thee! ٣ ع ٢ ٨ غ خ خ ش خض ب Make easy for me the road of good deeds toward Thee, ٣ خ غ دز ص ب ٢ د ح ػ ؤ ش ض racing to them from where Thou hast commanded, ٣ خ ش دح ص ى ٢ د ف ٦ د ؤ س د ض. and coveting them as Thou desirest! ٣ ال ظ ح ٨ ى ظ ح خ غ ع خ ي ز د ؤ ٣ ف ذ ض Efface me not along with those whom Thou effacest for thinking lightly of what Thou hast promised! ٣ ال ظ ٨ ٢ ظ ٢ خ ع ق ش ض ع Destroy me not with those whom Thou destroyest for exposing themselves to Thy hate! ٣ ال ظ ع س ش ٨ ى ظ ع س ش خ ح ش ى ف ع س.

44 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 44 Annihilate me not among those whom Thou annihilatest for deviating from Thy roads! ٣ ف ٨ م ش خض خ ي ع ص Deliver me from the floods of trial, ٣ خ ي ٨ ٤ ٢ خض خ س ٥٤ save me from the gullets of affliction, ٣ ؤ ش ٨ ؤ خ ز خال الء and grant me sanctuary from being seized by respite! ٣ ح ز ٨ ٣ ز ف ذ ٣ ٩ ض ٨ Come between me and the enemy who misguides me, ٤ ٩ ز ٨ ٥٤ ١ ٣ ٣ ي ص ظ ش ٨ ١. the caprice which ruins me, and the failing which overcomes me! ٣ ال ظ ق ش ض ف ٨ بف ش خض ال ظ ش ض ٦ ف ٠ ز ق ذ م ض س Turn not away from me with the turning away in wrath from one with whom Thou art not pleased!

46 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 46 Cast me not with the casting of him who has fallen from the eye of Thy regard ٣ خش ع ف ٠ خ خ ض ٧ ف ذ and been wrapped in degradation from Thee! ز خ ز ز ذ ٧ ع غ ص خ ع ش د د ٩ Rather take my hand [and save me] from the falling of the stumblers, ١ ٣ ٣ ص خ ع ق غ ي ٣ ص أص خ ن ش ٣ س ٩ ٣ ٣ س ع ص خ ٢ د. the disquiet of the deviators, the slip of those deluded, and the plight of the perishers! ٣ ف دى ٨ د خز ع ط ز ٠ ع س دض ف س ذ ٣ ب أج Release me from that with which Thou hast afflicted the ranks of Thy servants and handmaids ٣ ز ن ٨ س د ل ف ط ز ٠ ٣ ؤ ق ط ف ٠ ٣ س ض ط ف ٠ and make me reach the utmost degrees of him about whom Thou art concerned, towards whom Thou showest favour, and with whom Thou art pleased, ى إ ف ش ع ٠ ح ذخ ٣ ظ ٤ ى ع ٠ ع ق ذخ

51 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 51 but enjoin it upon me in states of inattention when the ignorant are heedless of Thy boons, ٣ ؤ ٣ ص ف ٨ ؤ ؤ ؼ ٨ ز د ؤ ٣ ع ٠ and inspire me to laud what Thou hast done for me ٣ ؤ ف ع ش ه ز د ؤ ع ذ ٩ ع ٠ ب ٨ and confess to what Thou hast conferred upon me! ٣ خ ق س م س ع ٨ ب ى ٤ س م س ص خ ش خم س Place my beseeching Thee above the beseeching of the beseechers ٣ ح ذ ٧ ب ٩ د ى ٤ ح ذ خ ح د ذ ٩ and my praise of Thee above the praise of the praisers! ٣ ال ظ خ ز ٨ ف ذ ىد ع ٨ ب Abandon me not with my neediness for Thee, ٣ ال ظ ٨ ٢ ز د ؤ ع ذ ٩ ع ٠ ب destroy me not for what I have done for Thee, ٣ ال ظ ف س ٨ ٢ ز د س ٢ ط ز ٠ ق د ذ ٩

52 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 52 and slap not my brow with that with which Thou slappest the brow of those who contend with Thee, ى ة ٨ غ ؤ ف ؤ خ ح ف ص for I am submitted to Thee. I know that the argument is Thine, ٣ ؤ ؤ ٦ ٣ ز د ي ض ٣ ؤ ف ٤ د ز دالح غ د that Thou art closest to bounty, most accustomed to beneficence, ٣ ؤ ١ خ ع ٥ ٤ ٣ ؤ ١ خ ن ي ش ش "worthy of reverent fear, and worthy of forgiveness" (75:56), ٣ ؤ ز إ ظ ق ي ٤ ؤ ٦ ٣ ز إ ظ ق د ر that Thou art closer to pardoning than to punishing, ٣ ؤ ز إ ظ غ ع ش ؤ ش ذ ب ٦ ؤ ظ ش ٢ ش and that Thou art nearer to covering over than to making notorious! ى إ ح ٨ ح دش ع س ص ظ ع ؾ ز د ؤ س ٩ ذ Let me live an agreeable life that will tie together what I want ٣ ظ س ل د ؤ ح ر ح ػ ال آظ ٨ د ظ ش

53 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 53 and reach what I love while I not bring what Thou dislikest ٣ ال ؤ س ظ ر د ٢ ط ف ٠ and not commit what Thou hast prohibited; ٣ ؤ ع ٨ ع ص ٩ غ ق ٦ ٤ س ز ٩ ذ ٠ ٩ ٣ ف ٩ ٠ and make me die the death of him whose light runs before him and on his right hand! ٣ ر ٨ ز ٩ ذ ٩ ٣ ؤ ف ض ٨ ف ذ خ Abase me before Thyself and exalt me before Thy creatures, ٣ ض ق ٨ بر خ خ ٤ ض ز ٣ خس ى ق ٨ ز ف سدد lower me when I am alone with Thee and raise me among Thy servants, ٣ ؤ م ٨ ف ٤ ١ م ٨ ف ٨ free me from need for him who has no need of me ٣ ص د ٨ ب ى د ص ٣ ى شخ and increase me in neediness and poverty toward Thee! ٣ ؤ ف ز ٨ ش دظ ص خال ف ذ خء

54 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 54 Give me refuge from the gloating of enemies, ٣ ح ٤ خ س الء ٣ خ ز ٣ خ ق أء the arrival of affliction, lowliness and suffering! ظ ن ذ ٨ ى د خع ق ط ف ٠ ٨ Shield me in what Thou seest from me, ز د ٩ ع ن ذ ز ٠ خ دد س ف ٦ خ س غ ش ٤ ال ح ٠ the shielding of him who would have power over violence had he no clemency, ٣ خالخ ز ف ٦ خ ف ش ٩ ش ش ٤ ال ؤ دظ ٠ and would seize for misdeeds had he no lack of haste! ٣ بر خ ؤ س د ض ز ٤ ى ع ص ؤ ٣ ع ٤ ء ى ف ٢ د ٨ ٤ خرخ ز When Thou desirest for a people a trial or an evil, deliver me from it, for I seek Thy shelter; ٣ بر ظ ٨ د ى ض ح ص ى ٨ د د ى ال ظ ٨ ؽ ٠ ى ٨ آخ ش ظ

55 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 55 and since Thou hast not stood me in the station of disgrace in this world of Thine, stand me not in such a station in the next world of Thine! ٣ خش ي ٨ ؤ ٣ خج ز إ ٣ خخ ش ١ د Couple for me the beginnings of Thy kindnesses with their ends ٣ ذ ٩ ى ٤ خج ذ ز ح ٤ خد ؼ ٢ د. and the ancient of Thy benefits with the freshly risen! ٣ ال ظ ذ د ٨ ذ خ ٩ غ ٤ ق ٠ س ٨ Prolong not my term with a prolonging through which my heart will harden! ٣ ال ظ ش ف ٨ دس ف ص ٩ ز ١ ر ٢ د ز ٢ أج ٨ Strike me not with a striking that will take away my radiance! ٣ ال ظ غ ٨ خ غ غ ص ٩ ي ن ش ٢ د ذ س ٧ Visit me not with a meanness that will diminish my worth ٣ ال ي ص ٩ ف ٢ ؤ ٢ د د ٨ or a deficiency that will keep my rank unknown!

56 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 56 ٣ ال ظ ش ف ٨ س ٣ ف ص ؤ ز ظ ز ٢ د ٣ ال خ يص ؤ ٣ ظ د ٢ ٣ د. Frighten me not with a fright by which I will despair or a terror through which I will dread, خ ق ١ س ع ٨ ى ٨ ٣ ف ذ but make me stand in awe of Thy threat, ٣ ح ز س ٧ بف زخس ٣ ب ز خس take precautions against Thy leaving no excuses ٣ س ١ س ع ٨ ف ذ ظ ال ٣ ش آ ٩ دظ and Thy warning, and tremble at the recitation of Thy verses! ٣ خف ش ٨ ز ة ٩ دؽ ٨ ى ٠ ق س دد ظ Fill my night with life by keeping me awake therein for worshipping Thee, ٣ ظ ي ش د ٧ ز د ع ٢ ف ذ ٣ ظ ف ش د ٧ ز غ ٨ ٤ ب solitude with vigil for Thee, exclusive devotion to reliance upon Thee, ٣ ب ض خ ح ٤ خج ف ٨ ز

57 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 57 setting my needs before Thee, ٣ دص ع ٨ ب ٩ د ى ٨ ى د س س ع ٨ دس and imploring that Thou wilt set my neck free from the Fire ٣ ب دس ظ ٨ د ى ٠ ؤ ٢ ١ د ف ز خز. and grant me sanctuary from Thy chastisement, within which its inhabitants dwell! ٣ ال ظ ز س ٨ ى ٨ ع ن د ٨ ف د ٢ د Leave me not blindly wandering in my insolence ٣ ال ى ٨ م ش ظ ٨ ع د ١ د ح ع ٦ ح or inattentive in my perplexity for a time, ٣ ال ظ ف ق ٨ ف ؾ ص خظ ق ؼ ٣ ال دال خف ع س ش make me not an admonition to him who takes admonishment, a punishment exemplary for him who takes heed, ٣ ال ى ع ص ؾ ش ٣ ال ظ ش ز ٨ ى ظ ش ز ٠ a trial for him who observes, devise not against me along with those against whom Thou devisest,

58 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 58 ٣ ال ظ غ ع س ذ ز ٨ م ش ٧ ٣ ال ظ ن ش ٨ بع د replace me not with another, change not my name, ٣ ال ظ سذ ٨ غ د ٣ ال ظ ع خ ز ٨ ١ ض ٣ خ خ transform not my body, appoint me not a mockery for Thy creatures, ٣ ال ع خ ش ٩ د ٣ ال ظ س قد بال ش ض دظ a laughing-stock for Thyself, a follower of anything but Thy good pleasure, ٣ ال ع ٢ د بال ز دال ع د ٣ ؤ ٣ ذ ٨ ز ش د ف ي ٤ a menial servant for anything but avenging Thee! Let me find the coolness of Thy pardon ٣ ح ال ٣ ش س ح ع ٣ س ٣ ح ٣ س ٩ ح د ٣ ص ق and the sweetness of Thy mercy, Thy repose, Thy ease, and the garden of Thy bliss! ٣ ؤ ر ٨ ع ق خ ي ش خك د ظ ح ر ز غ ق ص ع ق ع Let me taste, through some of Thy boundless plenty, the flavour of being free for what Thou lovest

59 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 59 ٣ خال ع ٢ دد ى د ٩ ض و ذ ٩ ٣ ف ذ and striving in what brings about proximity with Thee and to Thee, ٣ ؤ ظ ح ي ٨ ز ع ح ي ص ظ ح ي دظ and give me a gift from among Thy gifts! ٣ خ ق ظ ف دس ظ ٨ س خز ح ص ٣ ش ظ ٨ م ش خ دع ش ش Make my commerce profitable and my return without loss, ٣ ؤ خ ي ٨ د ٣ ش ٨ ٤ دء fill me with fear of Thy station, make me yearn for the meeting with Thee, ٣ ظ ر ف ٨ ظ ٤ ز ص ي ٤ حد ال ظ س ق ٢ د ر ٤ زد ص ن ش ش ٣ ال س ش ش and allow me to repent with an unswerving repentance along with which Thou lettest no sins remain, small or large, ٣ ال ظ ز س ق ٢ د ف ال ص ٣ ال ع ش ٩ ش ش and leavest no wrongs, open or secret!

60 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 60 ٣ خ ض ؿ خ ن ص ذ س ٧ ا Root out rancour toward the faithful from my breast, ٣ خف غ و ز س ٨ ف ٦ خ خ دش ق bend my heart toward the humble, ٨ ٣ د ظ ٤ ي د ح be toward me as Thou art toward the righteous, ٣ ح ٨ ح ص خ ع adorn me with the adornment of the godfearing, ٣ خ ق ٨ غ د ص ذ ى ٨ خ ن دز ش ٩ appoint for me a goodly report among those yet to come ٣ ر شخ د د ى ٨ خالخ ش ٩ ٣ ٣ خه ز ٨ ف ش ص ص خال ٣ and a growing remembrance among the later folk, and take me to the plain of those who came first! ٣ ظ ع س ٤ ك ق ع ف ٨ ٣ ؽ د ١ ش ش خ دظ ٢ د ذ ٧ Complete the lavishness of Thy favour upon me, clothe me in its repeated generosities,

61 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 61 ٣ خ ال ى ٤ خج ذ ٩ ذ ٧ ٣ ع ش خج ٤ خ ١ س ب ٨ fill my hand with Thy benefits, drive Thy generous gifts to me, ٣ د ٣ س ز ٨ خال ع س ؤ ٣ أج make me the neighbour of the best of Thy friends ى ٨ خ ف د خ ع ٨ ص ٩ ع ٢ د ال ص ي أج in the Gardens which Thou hast adorned for Thy chosen ٣ ٨ ش ش آج و ح ى ٨ خ د دض خ ق ذ ش ال ح س دج and wrap me in Thy noble presents in the stations prepared for Thy beloveds! ٣ خ ق ٨ ف ذ ال آ ٧ ٣ ب ٠ غ ح أ د Appoint for me a resting place with Thee where I may seek haven in serenity, ٣ ؽدز ص ؤ ظ س ٤ ؤ ١ د ٣ ؤ ش ف د. and a resort to which I may revert and rest my eyes, ٣ ال ظ د ٩ غ ٨ ز ق ؾ دض خ ف ش خج ش weigh not against me my dreadful misdeeds,

62 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 62 ٣ ال ظ ٨ ٢ ٤ ٩ ظ س ٦ خ غ ش خج ش destroy me not on "the day the secrets are tried" (86:9), ٣ ؤ ص ف ٨ ش ٣ ش س ٢ ص eliminate from me every doubt and uncertainty, ٣ خ ق ٨ ى ٨ خ ح ع ش ٩ د س ح ص appoint for me a way in the truth from every mercy, ٣ ؤ ض ٨ غ خ ٤ خ ١ ر ٤ خ make plentiful for me the portions of gifts from Thy granting of awards, ٣ ٣ ى ش ف ٨ ح ؾ ٤ ػ خال ح غ د بى ض د and fill out for me the shares of beneficence from Thy bestowal of bounty! ٣ خ ق س ٨ ٣ خؼ د ز د ف ذ Make my heart trust in what is with Thee ٨ ١ ٣ غ ع ي ش مد د ٤ ١ and my concern free for what is Thine,

63 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 63 ٣ خع ع ق ٨ ز د ظ غ ع ق ز ٠ خ د ي ع employ me in that in which Thou employest Thy pure friends, ٣ ؤ ش ش ذ س ٨ ف ذ ر ٤ ١ خ ق ٤ ع دف ع drench my heart with Thy obedience when intellects are distracted, ٣ خ ٨ خ ن ٦ ٣ خ ق ي ده ٣ خ ذ ف ص ٣ خ ق دى دش and combine within me independence, continence, ease, release, ٣ خ ي ح ص ٣ خ غ ق ص ٣ خ غ إ ص ٣ خ ق دى ص health, plenty, tranquillity, and well being! ٣ ال ظ ح س ظ ح غ دظ ٨ ز د ٩ ش ٤ ز ٢ د ق ي ع Make not fail my good deeds through my disobedience that stains them ٣ ال خ ٤ خظ ٨ ز د ٩ ق ش ض ٨ ض م دض ى ع ع or my private times of worship through the instigations of Thy trial! ٣ ص ٣ ٨ ٢ ف خ غ ر ب ٦ ؤ ح ذ خ ق د

64 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 64 Safeguard my face from asking from anyone in the world, ٣ ر ز ٨ ف خ ع دط د ف ذ خ ي دع and drive me far from begging for that which is with the ungodly! ٣ ال ظ ف ق ٨ ؾ د ؽ ٢ شخ Make me not an aid to the wrongdoers, ٣ ال ٢ ف ٦ ح ٤ ع دز ٩ ذخ ٣ ي شخ nor their hand and helper in erasing Thy Book! ٣ ح غ ٨ ح ػ ال ؤ ف ح دع ص ظ ٨ ز ٢ د Defend me whence I know not with a defense through which Thou protectest me! ٣ خى ع ح ٨ ؤ ز ٤ خذ ظ ٤ ز ع ٣ س ح ع ٣ س ؤ ى ع ٣ س ص خ ٤ خع Open toward me the gates of Thy repentance, Thy mercy, Thy clemency, and Thy boundless provision! ب ٨ ب خ ش خم س Surely I am one of those who beseech Thee!

65 Dua of Imam Sajjad (47) for Arafah Day 65 ٣ ؤ ظ ٨ ب ق د ب خ ش خ ق And complete Thy favour toward me! Surely Thou art the best of those who show favour! ٣ خ ق زد ٨ ف ش ٧ ى ٨ خ ح ؿ ٣ خ ق ش ش Place the rest of my life in the hajj and the 'umra خز ع ن أء ٣ ٢ ٩ دسذ خ ق د seeking Thy face, O Lord of the worlds! ٣ ص ٦ خهلل ف ٦ ح ذ ٣ آ ٠ خ غ س خ غ د ١ ش ٩ And may God bless Muhammad and his Household, the good, the pure, ٣ خ غ ال ف ٠ ٣ ف ٢ ؤ ز ذ خالز ذ ٩. and peace be upon him and them always and forever!
