The CCW will organize a light supper which will be served after the marchers return to the parish. Epiphany Water. Holy Church supplies the faithful with a great gift in the form of a solemn blessing of holy water that is afterwards referred to as Epiphany Water. This form of Holy Water is a powerful sacramental for souls and a great weapon in thwarting the power of Satan and the fallen angels. The ceremonial for the blessing of Epiphany Water took place here at St Lawrence on January 5th. For those of you who were unable to attend the ceremonial blessing, extra Epiphany Water and chalk are available at the Rectory Office. 3 In our 11th Week of the Financial Campaign we are now approaching $800,000 in Pledges with over $325,000 already donated from over 250 families of our 1804 registered families in the Parish. We still have a bit to go...so we ask Goal $1.2 Mil all parishioners to pray over making a $1 million pledge. As an alternative, envelopes are included in the envelope packages you receive, $750,000 and small envelopes are available in the $500,000 back of Church in case you feel uncomfortable committing to any overall $250,000 amount but wish to give weekly or monthly!!! Donation NOTE: If you would like to have your pledge made and paid via electronic transfer (e.g.; from your Credit Card or Bank Acct)...Visit Faith Direct and enter your pledge and your proposed payment plan!! For More Information See SACRAMENTAL INFORMATION AND SERVICES Baptisms - First and Third Sundays at 1:45 p.m. by appointment. Parents are requested to make arrangements one month in advance and must be registered members of the parish. First time parents must attend a one session pre- Baptismal class, usually held on the second Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. in the Rectory office. Parents are encouraged to attend this class before the birth of their child. Baptisms in the Extraordinary Form may be requested by calling the parish office. Sponsor Certificates - These are Parish testimonies to the fact you are a practicing Catholic in the parish and are issued to those wishing to be a Godparent or sponsor for a Confirmation candidate. You must be registered in the parish and first time Godparents must attend a class before a certificate will be issued. Sacrament of Matrimony - Contact the parish office 6 months before your desired wedding date. Marriage Preparation is required by Church Law to enable a couple to fully understand the holiness and obligations of the Sacrament. Note that living together before marriage is sinful and harmful to future marriage. Couples who are living together will be asked to live separately during the marriage preparation time. Religious Education (CCD) - All children not attending a Catholic School who are in the first grade and up should be enrolled in the Parish Religious Education Program. Call the Religious Education Office at (703) for information. R.C.I.A. - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which adults (and children who have reached the age of reason) are instructed in the Doctrine of the Church and are prepared to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. If you or someone you know would like to inquire about becoming a Catholic, please call Anne-Marie Pierce, Parish Registration - Prior to receiving particular services from the parish, one must be registered. Registration is now able to be conducted online, on the Parish website, and registration forms are available at the rectory or in the vestibule of the Church. 4 2019 Women's Conference - All women of the diocese are invited to register for the 2019 Women's Conference to be held on Saturday, March 2, Hear "Miracles Do Happen" with gifted healer, Sr. Briege McKenna, OSC and author of the book "Miracles Do Happen"; and Fr. Donald Calloway, a priest of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception and author of No Turning Back and other devotional books. We thank you for meeting your obligation as Catholics to support your church. Such almsgiving meets one of the 5 Precepts of Holy Mother Church. We wish all parishioners to be comfortable in how they give We primarily encourage the use of Faith Direct Electronic giving (see which is the least costly (i.e., more donated dollars go to the poor, charity and other expenses). Of course, the use of envelopes is still a great tradition--and giving in either of these ways, or in cash, sets a great example for your children and those around you who may not give yet-- even with Faith Direct, you receive cards you can drop in the collection basket to show your support the Parish. We hope the following information will help you understand Parish finances. NOTE: Many have asked and we have not calculated any drop in Holy Mass Attendance. Others have asked if giving to the Narthex Update Project has impacted the budget--but so far it has not -- at least in any noticeable way. During three months last year, we failed to meet the budget--but by a small amount-- and you see in November we slightly exceeded our budget. For the Christmas collection, it was down slightly, about $1000. Overall, thanks to the devotion of our parishioners, we seem to be staying on track in our budget and we continue to try and cut costs to help!

Ushers Urgently Needed The parish is in particular need of ushers to serve at the Saturday 5:00 pm Vigil Mass and the 11:00 am Sunday Mass, either part-time as back-ups for our regular ushers who have to be absent, or full-time for most Sundays. We have been operating with a shortage for well over a year and really need some willing parishioners to help out with this important ministry.
