4 St. Clare Stewardship Ministry Corner The next proposed Stewardship Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:30 PM in the lower rectory. Stewardship meetings are held on a monthly basis and all are welcome. The Prayer Ministry is dedicated to those who request our prayers. To join this ministry or to send a prayer intention, please write in the Book of Intentions near the Baptistry or mbrockmann@cox.net. The Respect Life Ministry helps the parish live the Gospel of Life by promoting and protecting the sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death. Before Mass on the First Friday of every month, the Rosary is offered before the Blessed Sacrament for an end to abortion. Please join us. The Hospitality Ministry provides a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere for members of the St. Clare community and visitors, as well as new parishioners, to meet and interact with one another in a positive way. This ministry provides opportunities to promote parish fellowship and, when necessary, to assist the Pastor with special events. Meetings take place the first Thursday of every month at 8:30 AM in the Parish Center. All are welcome. The next meeting will be on April 3. The Helping Hands Ministry reaches out to those who are needy, elderly, sick or in need of bereavement consolation. This ministry meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 4 PM in the Parish Center. Enter through the door in the rear parking area. Please feel free to come to these meetings; new faces are always welcome. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, April 1. Introduction to the Bible Tuesday, April 1 Fourth Session 7 PM in the Parish Center Come and join us for an intro to the reading of the Bible with all of its practical usages and references. John and Renee Gentile will be your guides for these four Tuesdays of Lent and will continue for four more weeks after Easter (those dates to be determined.) Bring your Bible with you. The evening should not last more than an hour to an hour and a half. Contemplation in the Presence Wednesday, April 2 Last Session 7:30 PM in the Church Come to a half hour of silence in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Quiet meditative chant will lift you to a place of prepared oneness with the Lord. Stop and take some time of quiet and silence with our Eucharistic Lord. Rejuvenate the spirit and refresh your soul. Just thirty minutes. Father Ken will be available in the confessional from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM for anyone wishing to take advantage of the Sacrament of Penance (confession). I'm Fine There's nothing whatever the matter with me. I'm just as healthy as I can be. I have arthritis in both my knees And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze. My pulse is weak and my blood is thin I think my liver is out of whack And a terrible pain is in my back. My hearing is poor, my sight is dim, Most everything seems to be out of trim. I have arch supports for both my feet, Or I wouldn't be able to go on the street. Sleeplessness I have night after night, And in the morning I'm just a sight. My memory is failing, my head's in a spin. I'm peacefully living on aspirin The moral is, as this tale we unfold, That for you and me who are growing old, It's better to say "I'm fine" with a grin Than to let them know the shape we're in. --- Cardinal Cushing
