SACRAMENT OF HOLY MATRIMONY/WEDDINGS: Arrangements are to be made by calling the Parish Office no less than ONE YEAR in advance. Absolutely NO social plans are to be made before meeting with the parish Priest or Deacon. Please note: Sacrament of Holy Matrimony is celebrated on 2:00pm only, NO Friday nor Sunday weddings (nuptials) will be scheduled. BAPTISMS: Baptisms are celebrated on the 2nd & 4th Sunday at 1:30PM with the exception of Holy Days. Pre-Baptism class, will be at 2:00 pm every 2nd Saturday of the month in Church. Parents and Godparents must attend. RITE of Christian Initiation for ADULTS (RCIA): The RCIA is the process the Church uses to form and inform those who want to inquire about the Catholic faith. This process is for those who have never been baptized, baptized adults needing Confirmation and Holy Eucharist, and those of other faiths who feel called to become Catholic. Is God calling you? If so, please call Deacon Serge Bernatchez at PASTORAL CARE OF THE SICK: Call Arrangements for communion calls to the sick can be made by calling the Parish Office. Please notify the Parish Office when a parishioner is in the hospital. Emergency calls may be made at any time. PARISH REGISTRATION: All parishioners should be registered. Parishioners over the age of 18 should register independently of their parents. It is necessary to be a registered parishioner for at least 3 months in order for us to provide testimonial letters. Yet, how much time and energy do we invest in working for that eternal kingdom? SH Council of Catholic Women will once again sponsor a Jesse Tree to benefit the residents of the NJ Veteran s Home in Menlo Park, starting the weekend of 11/24 & 11/25 and continuing to the weekend of 12/1 & 12/2. Angels taken from the tree must be affixed to your UNWRAPPED gift and returned to the Church by Dec. 9 th. Monetary donations for larger items may be placed in the designated mailbox. SH Rosary Society will be sponsoring an Advent Retreat in Mem. Hall, led by Deacon Serge, on Dec. 8 th beginning with 8am Mass in church. All women of the parish are invited to attend. Masses are taken on a first come first served basis, and the stipend is $10 per Mass. In an effort to accommodate everyone s Mass Intentions, requests will be limited to 4 Masses per year for each registered parishioner household. (One Mass can be on a Sat. evening or Sunday and 3 weekday.) Please note if your requested date or time is not available, you will be given a date/time that is closest to your request. Sanctuary Candles and Altar Candles are still available for purchase for various dates throughout the rest of the year. Cost is $25 for the Sanctuary Candle and $10 for each Altar, 5 day glass candle. Altar Wine and Hosts are also available. Our next Quarterly 50/50 will take place on December 16 th. Raffle tickets have been mailed out. If you do not receive your tickets, or would like to purchase extra tickets, please contact the Parish Office. CEMETERY CORNER Few General Cemetery Regulations Reminders: Pets are prohibited on cemetery property. Cemetery dumpsters are for cemetery use ONLY, not for personal household trash. Fences, hedges, coping, edging, curbing, enclosures, ironwork, wires, seats, vases, urns, posts, steps are prohibited on cemetery plots/ property. Articles such as shells, rocks, stone chips, bottles, cans, mulch, glass receptacles, Styrofoam crosses, statues & all other decorative non-religious objects will be removed from cemetery property without notice. Outlining of graves or memorials by stripping a border of sod or outlining the grave with metal frames, stones, concrete blocks, etc. is not permitted. The planting of evergreens, trees, shrubbery, rose bushes, large bushy flowers, vegetable plants, etc. of any kind is strictly prohibited and will be removed without notice by cemetery personnel. American flags with its holders must be placed next to the headstone of each grave and not by the VA marker with the exception of two weeks prior to and and then two weeks after Memorial Day. These rules among others are based on Diocesan Cemetery Rules. Please take a ride to Holy Cross or Resurrection Cemeteries to see the difference. Please adhere & respect these rules for the general order and cleanliness of our parish cemetery.
