1 The Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7 to, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Your prayers are a gift to those requesting them, and encouragement for one another as we experience challenges, sorrows, or thanksgivings of any kind. He can be reached at , and needs to know NOW to determine if we have enough players (girls and boys). Cub wants to get at least a month s worth of practice in before the season starts. The first game of the season will likely be early June. Prelude Call to Worship Third Sunday of Easter Affirmation of Baptism Day April 30, :15am Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church Community of Faith Cottonwood, Minnesota Today s gospel begins with two disciples walking to Emmaus, overcome with sadness, loss, and disappointment. They had hoped Jesus, who was crucified, would be the one to redeem Israel! Yet the risen Christ walks with them, and then opens their eyes in the breaking of the bread. Each Sunday our hearts burn within us as the scriptures are proclaimed and Christ appears to us as bread is broken and wine is poured.
