1 Our Infinity through God 1952 Second Seattle Closed Class Joel S. Goldsmith Tape 617B Good evening. Again, we have the second Seattle series, and our subject tonight is our infinity through God. Perhaps you are wondering how it is that I know in advance what the subject is. Actually, I didn't know the subject before the lesson began. It so happened that there were so many discordant noises on the original tape that I am remaking this tape, and therefore, I know now that the title is Our Infinity through God. We have taken a drastic, a radical step in that we have removed our basis from the outer realm to the kingdom of God within our own being. In doing that, we have moved over from the material sense of life to the spiritual consciousness of life. In doing that, we have turned to the mystical or the spiritual approach in which we realize that it is in our at-one-ment with God and because of our oneness with God that we find our good. We do not find our good, because we are good or because we have great understanding, but because we have great spiritual power. We find our good only in our oneness with God, since God is the only good. God is the only wisdom. God is the only strength. God is the only life. Our realization always must be that since God is infinite good, since God is the divine wisdom of the universe, the infinite intelligence of the universe, since God is the only love operating in the universe, and since we are one with God and all that God has is ours, then we find our infinity, our eternality, our immortality in God. In scriptural language, that is called finding our freedom in Christ, or finding our freedom through Christ, or finding our freedom through the awareness of our spiritual identity, not through our personal power, not through our personal understanding, not through our personal knowledge, but through our spiritual heritage as children of God, joint heirs with Christ in God. As we turn from the sense of seeking our good in the outer realm, we also come to a new place in consciousness wherein we find that this power within our own being is not only the source of our good but, because of the infinite nature of this power, it is the only power, and beside it there are no other powers. And note this that in the material sense, in the ordinary human sense of life, you are dealing with two powers. In religion, it is called God and devil, in philosophy good and evil, in metaphysics immortal and mortal, but in the spiritual realm, once you have acknowledged the kingdom of God within your own being, you are through with the findings in the world. You are through with battle. You are through with using great powers to overcome lesser powers. Once you have come to the agreement of deriving your good through God, that is, finding your good through Christ, you also come to a place where there are no battles. There are no problems. There are no opposing or evil forces in the world. This perhaps is the most radical step that we are called upon to take.

2 Since everyone has some particular belief or faith in God, it is only a step toward giving up of all faith and all dependence in the outside world and placing the full dependence upon God, but it is a much more radical step to take, to say that having found God, I have found that which is the only power, the all power, and now I find no reason to fight other powers, battle them, or overcome them. Let us for a moment turn to Luke, the tenth chapter of Luke. The Master had sent the seventy out into the world and said, Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves, carrying neither purse nor script nor shoes, and salute no man by the way, and so forth. And now the apostles returned, and the seventy returned again with joy saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning falls from heaven. Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this, rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. And here we have the principle, the principle of healing in The Infinite Way. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you, but notwithstanding that, do not rejoice in your power over these. Rejoice only that your names are written in heaven. We have interpreted that in this wise. Since these ends are not power, since they have no real existence, since their only existence is that some universal belief, which we entertained, why rejoice in a power over a non-existent enemy, over an enemy that has no power? It is as if we should dream at night that we are battling serpents and scorpions, and now waking out of the dream and find that we were never battling serpents and scorpions but a dream about them. We would, of course, never believed that we had been given power over scorpions and serpents, but rather that in the awakening, we had found ourselves in harmony, in wholeness, in completeness, where there were no such things operating as evil forces. So then, awake thou that sleepest, and Christ will give thee light. Awake out of this dream or belief in two powers. Awake out of this dream or belief that we are battling error, either in the form of men's thoughts or in the form of things. Whether or not our enemies appear as thoughts or as things, it is a very little moment, once we realize that they are not really enemies, that they have no power. The enemy is our conviction of a presence and a power apart from God. Once, and this has been proved in our entire ministry, once we have come into a slight awareness of the great truth that there are not two powers, that we are not battling infections and contagions and cancers and consumptions and germs, but rather that we are awakening to the great truth that these so-called serpents and scorpions are not really dangerous at all, that the lion and the lamb can lie down together, that we can go peacefully to sleep, even in the presence of so-called disease, finding that there is no power in these appearances. Then, we understand the statement, Rejoice that your names

3 are written in heaven. In other words, rejoice that you have found your identity as children of God. Rejoice that you have awakened into your heavenly consciousness, and in heaven there is no sin. There is no disease. There is no discord. So once your names are written in heaven, in other words, once you have awakened to your true identity as children of God, living and moving and having your being in heaven, in divine consciousness, you are in a state of consciousness in which error loses all reality, all form, and all power. In the practical application of this, we have two major divisions. One is this. In your station that I gave you recently, you remember that the serpent and scorpion that is, the enemy or belief that we've handled was the fact that food had power, that is that food had power to nourish us for good or that food had power to make us evil, make us ill, or make us fat, or make us lean. In one way or another, the belief that we are doing this was the belief that food in and of itself had power. Now in reversing that, we came to the realization that the same consciousness, God consciousness, my individual consciousness, the same consciousness that animated the organs and functions of the body, the same consciousness, the same soul that was really the law, the cause, and the activity, and the substance of the organs and functions of the body, that same consciousness, that same soul was the substance and the nourishment of the food. It was the food value, the nourishment value in the food, that the food in and of itself had no quality or property, but that we gave to the food its qualities, its nourishment, and its substance. If you can agree that your digestive organs, your eliminative organs could not in and of themselves do anything or be anything except lie there dead, that there is an animating influence making them function, and that that animating influence is your consciousness, your awareness, your soul. Once you realize that, then it is your consciousness that gives them the power to act, you can go to the next step and realize that it is the same consciousness that gives the food its value. In other words, it is your consciousness that is appearing outwardly as the harmony of your experience. Someday you will see that your business, your income, your marriage, your everything is nothing more or less than the out picturing of your consciousness. All that concerns you will be the activity of your own consciousness reflected back to you. At the present time, however, there are places in which that cannot be made manifest. I mentioned your marriage. Of course, most marriages in the present state are the result of emotions of some kind or another, and we're not quite ready to dispose of those and put our marriages on a scientific basis. So while we permit our emotions to control us, the marriage will not rightly show forth our present state of consciousness, anymore than the body that we have permitted our emotions to rule, or our appetites, or to govern us to such an extent that the body is the way it appears now and therefore does not show outwardly our spiritual state of consciousness, although in time it will. The body, if submitted to this understanding that your body is not fed by the food you eat, but that the food you eat is fed by your consciousness, it will only be a matter of weeks or months before your body will begin to show the change. The same with your business. As

4 long as you believe that your business is maintained or sustained by its capital structure or by its customers or the sales, of course it will continue to reflect that. The moment you begin to realize that your business is sustained by the consciousness that founded it, the consciousness that brought it into existence, the creative principle of it, which is your own consciousness, or it wouldn't be your business, once you realize that, your business will take on a different complexion and will no longer be completely subject to outside influences. Everything in our experience must be brought back to a government by our consciousness. Everything. Every detail of our lives and experience must be removed from under the law. Moses gave us the law that governs us in our humanhood sanitary laws, laws of human good, laws of human conduct. Moses even told us how we should act towards our parents, toward our neighbors, all on the human scale, but it was Christ Jesus who planted the seed within us of spiritual right, spiritual righteousness, in which we are no longer good to our parents or to our neighbors, because it is the right thing to do, but in which you see that love has sprung up within us making any other code of conduct an impossibility. In other words, in which the good isn't our good anymore but is the good of God within us, as we shall see later expressed to the world. Now, I bring this to you. Take every detail of your life, your body, the food you eat, the business, the home, and consciously make this transition. Realize that these things, your body, your business, your health, your wealth are no longer under the law of human belief, no longer under circumstance or change, no longer under what one man can do to me, but that you have consciously reversed the picture so that all that concerns you is being fed from this infinite storehouse within your own being. I have meat you know not. I am the bread. I am the wine. I am the water. In other words, right here within me is the infinite storehouse, and with it or through this infinite storehouse, I feed my body. I feed my business. I feed my pocketbook. I feed my relationship with everyone. I do not permit the world to say, I love you, or I hate you, or I agree with you, or I disagree with you. I understand fully that it is the love that's the bread, the meat, the wine, the water. The love within me is the substance of my relationship with the world, and all those who cannot bring themselves into that somehow disappear from our experience. Now then, since here is the meat, the substance of life, the bread, the staff of life, the water, which is life eternal, and you remember it, the water which springs into life eternal. That is all here. Since all this is embodied within me, it is this substance that flows out from me and feeds my daily experience. All of this flowing forth from my consciousness, and this is the stand that you must take. You must agree only for one reason, not because I have any personal interest in it. Only because you, yourself, have taken the name of Christ. Only because you, yourself, have taken the name of Christian. Only because you, yourself, have decided that the Christ life is your way of life only for that reason. But you accept the principle given forth, the principle that says, Here, right here, I have meat, so do not go out into the city and buy me meat. Right here, I have meat. You know nothing. Here is the water of life. I can give you water. You don't have to

5 give me water. I can give you water. I have right here the substance of life eternal right within me. Do not try to give it to me in the form of calories, or minerals, or vitamins. I already have it within me the substance of life eternal. All good flows out from here and forms the fabric, the substance, the law, the cause of my daily experience. Consciously, consciously and daily, we must bring this to remembrance. Remember the difference between affirmations and knowing the truth. In affirmations, you just make statements, whether or not you understand them means nothing. Whether they have meaning, you just make statements and hope that something is going to happen. That isn't truth or knowing the truth. Knowing the truth is actually knowing a principle and bringing it to conscious remembrance, so that we will not make the affirmation, I have meat, and hope that that affirmation will do something, but we will rather know the truth that since God is my individual consciousness, it is really the substance of my life, and it embodies all good. It becomes the law unto my experience, and we will remind ourselves of that truth. We will not even do it in my words. We need not do it in the words of the Master. The main thing is to embody the substance of the truth of being and then put it into our own words. Never, never, never use a formula. Never use the word of a teacher or of a Master. Merely understand the essence of their teaching and then put it into your own words, so as to make it live, and then you will find this, that in constantly knowing the truth, daily reminding yourselves that as against the appearance that out here are powers and forces necessary to my experience, I now realize that all of the bread, all the wine, all the water, and all the resurrection, and all the power of healing, of redemption, of regeneration is within me. The kingdom of God is within me, and gradually your attention is withdrawn from the outer world, and as it is, this thing does come up into a wellspring. It does flow forth. It gushes forth as life eternal. Now, we pass from there to the second phase of the same principle. It isn't good news, but this is even more difficult than the first, where honestly, there is nothing easy about the way of the cross. That was probably why the Master said that so few find it. So few are ready to pay the price, the price of application, the price of living with this truth, the price of making it a part of their very being, of their very body. It isn't simple, that's true. It isn't easy. This is no shortcut to heaven. This is no way to influence your friends easily. If you want to influence them, it's going to be the hard way, and here is the second part of that principle. We are faced with an appearance that says that we are one person in a world of four billion people. We are just one out of four billion. And what can we do with or against four billion? It is a pretty hopeless thing. The truth is this that the only thing that is power, the only thing that really operates as power in the consciousness of the four billion is God, and therefore, it is cooperative, and therefore, we are one with each other and one with God. The world of appearance says that there are four billion people, each with a mind of their own, a will of their own, a desire of their own, and an ambition of their own, and that it's pretty hopeless to battle against them, and it is. It is if you accept

6 appearances and if you judge by appearances. Then you might as well give up the struggle right now, because between your relatives and your friends, you're going to be overwhelmed, and you will not get far with this truth. If you can once see that the major part of the Master's teaching rests on one power, the First Commandment, just as we have here, Rejoice not that the devils are subject unto you. Don't bother with that. Rejoice that your names are written in heaven. If you can once see that the principle of this infinite way of life is one power, then you will take the next step with me, and you will begin slowly and gently at first to realize here. I will admit that so far as people are concerned that they have a world of their own, and a way of their own, and a domination of their own, and seem to be pretty stubborn about it, and most of those ways aren't too good. But from the standpoint of this truth, I am going to take this stand that only the qualities and activities of God in their consciousness are power, that whatever else they may possess, and I'm not going to deny that there is a socalled mortal mind. I am not going to deny that there is self-will, and mad ambition, and lust, and greed, and animality, and hate. I'm not going to deny that. I am merely going to deny that those things constitute power, or that they are constituted of power, or that they have power to do anything or to be anything. Now, there comes the test. From the moment of our stepping out of our door in the morning and sometimes before we leave home, we hit right up against self-will, selfishness, self-righteousness, domination, cruelty, and so forth, and so on. All right. What difference does it make what anyone thinks about their mind or the power of their human will? What difference does it make what they think or what the world thinks about the power of evil in human thought? We are dealing with the most wonderful principle in the world, a principle that declares that only our awareness, our consciousness of truth can govern our lives, that we mold our own experience to our consciousness of truth. Just think of that. We are dealing with individuality twice. Of course, in this age, we have lots of opposing theories, all the way from Marx to communism that says that the mass mind is the important one, not the individual. All things of life today, all theories of life reveal socialism, communism, New Deals. All of human experience is a contradiction of the value of the individual, and yet our teaching is based on the truth that only the individual is important, that the mass is of no importance at all. You wouldn't miss it, and if it all disappeared, the whole world of mass consciousness, if it all disappeared and the masses of humanity with it, it wouldn't be missed. Only the individual is important. Those who do not like that particular approach to life will never find themselves at home in this teaching, because there is a complete exposition of individuality, and not only that, but in infinite individuality in which every individual on the face of the globe has the ability, if they will embrace it, to show forth the full measure of the Godhead bodily, the full measure of infinite individuality, not just that there can be only one Paderewski, not that there can be only one Hoffman, not that there can be only one Edison, no. This

7 teaching of Christianity is a teaching that every man can be a master musician, a master engineer, a master physician, a master metaphysician. Every individual can be that, and every individual can be so busy about it and so prosperous about it that they will not draw anything away from their neighbor. Our point at this moment is whatever you accept as an activity of your consciousness will be demonstrated by you, in spite of the thoughts, beliefs, and convictions of four billion of the world. The influence of the four billion will not come nigh your dwelling place. The convictions of the four billion, the dangers, and the thoughts, and the malpractice of the four billion will not come nigh your dwelling place, once you agree that your capacity is limited only to the capacity of God, since in and of yourself, you are nothing. But, as having your names written in heaven, that is, as children of God, all that the Father hath is yours. All the capacity, all of the qualities, all of the quantities is yours. There is no such thing as limitation. I remember when I was a boy, Henry Ford's wealth was getting on towards a billion dollars, and you would be surprised at the amount of newspaper articles in the world showing that inasmuch as Rockefeller or any had a billion, if now Ford got a billion, the rest of us would all be poverty stricken, because there couldn't be two billions in the hands of two people, and all the rest of us have anything left over. Now it just so happened that the more billions Standard Oil got, the more billions that Ford got, the greater were the salaries in Detroit and wherever else these corporations operated, and the greater the dividends were, it seems the more prosperous they have become, and we have become. No, truly, there is no such thing as limitation. This I do know. God is individual mind. God is the mind of the individual. God is your mind, and therefore, your mind is unlimited. Your mind is unlimited just as long as you realize that God is the nature, character, quality, and quantity of your mind. This, too, I know. Life is eternal. There is no reason for old age nor is there reason for death by old age, except that you accept these the beliefs of the world but individually we may nullify those beliefs in the understanding that God is individual life. God is immortal and eternal life, and we have no other life, none to begin and none to end, so that in this manner, we understand that governed by ignorance of truth, we are under every belief that the world has created since the days of Adam, even the belief that we are fallen man. It is a terrible thing, isn't it, to be responsible for Adam and Eve's sin? It is like the Hebrews who are still being persecuted, because some of the Hebrews crucified Jesus, and all of the Hebrews of today have to take the blame. We are not responsible for the sins of our ancestors. Even the Hebrews who first gave us the law that the sins of the fathers shall be visited on the children, onto the third and fourth generation, even they had the good sense two hundred years later to nullify that law and say, No longer shall it be said in Israel that the parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children s teeth are set on edge. From now on, each one pays the penalty of their own sins. I believe often that,

8 even the Christians have forgotten, for that law of inheritance was wiped out thousands of years, or many hundreds of years before even Jesus came on the scene. And so we still suffer from this belief of inherited disease and inherited sin. Now, let us, in view of the Master's teaching, accept our responsibility for our experience. Let us not blame the rest of the world for our shortcomings or for our lack of demonstration, because our lack of demonstration definitely lies within first of all, our ignorance of the laws of God; secondly, to our unwillingness, after we have learned the laws, to bring them into operation through the conscious activity of our daily thought and study. Now, we have our first principle and first basis that nothing external to me enters to defile or make a lie, whether it is the form of food, or whether it is in the form of germs, or whether it is in the form of other people's thoughts. Nothing from without a man. Do you remember that? Nothing from without a man can enter that defileth or maketh a lie, whether it is a thought or a thing. Therefore, you must consciously accept your immunity this moment from anything and anybody external to yourself and realize that the issues of life flow out from you. You are not the victim of anything or anybody external to yourself. The issues flow out from the center of your being, and inasmuch as you have meat the world knows not, inasmuch as you have this wellspring of water, which is life eternal, inasmuch as you are yourself the bread, the wine, the water, the resurrection, inasmuch as you embody this within your own being, you now make your declaration that the kingdom of God within manifests Itself, expresses Itself into my universe as my daily experience of body, of health, of home, of security, of peace, of joy. And then we take the second part of our unfoldment and begin with this realization, and this is going to take a little while to bring about the adjustment in your thoughts, because there are those people in your mind right now, in one way or another, influencing you or affecting your life, so that you cannot live it in the fullness of your own desires. There are people in your experience who are affecting the harmony, the activity, the joy of your life, and if not in a personal sense, probably in a political sense. You and I must take our stand in this wise. Whatever emanates from God in the consciousness of man, individually or collectively, is power. Do you know that, in these next few moments, you are to receive a principle, which may, if you permit it, change the entire course of your life? Every one of you is sitting here accepting a belief in a power other than God, accepting the belief that someone's hatred, animosity, indifference can be of concern to you, or that the evil in collective thought, politically, economically can affect your life. Probably you, in common with so many in our world, are fearing that the false economic theories of communism or the communistic state can operate to deprive you of your freedom, of your religious, political, or economic freedom. In other words, that there is a vast body of men in whom evil thoughts are operating, and you may be fearing that these, now or at some future time, may be destructive to you. And so, I'm going to repeat. Whatever emanates from God in the consciousness of man, individually or collectively, is power.

9 Now, you know that it is very seldom that I ask you to memorize a statement, but I do want you to have the essence of this one, and so if you like, memorize it. Whatever emanates from God in the consciousness of man, individually or collectively, is power. What is it that emanates from God and that operates in the consciousness of man but Love? Love, truth, completeness, perfection, wholeness, all of the Christ qualities. Let us begin to admit, we can begin just here among ourselves as friends, and we can agree that right here there is nothing operating in my consciousness of envy, hate, jealousy, deceit towards you, and you can make the acknowledgment easily that there's not a thing in your consciousness toward me, except that which emanates from God, that you have no feelings whatever towards me, except life, truth, love, harmony, wholeness, perfection, gratitude, joy, cooperation, sharing. I'm sure that every one of us in this room can agree that, at this very moment, there isn't a single trace of envy, jealousy, malice, hate, greed, lust, animality in the whole room. And, that even if there were such thoughts present in this room, they are not power over you or over me. Only the believer can be affected by his belief. Only the believer can be affected by his belief. This entire room of people is animated only by divine Consciousness. Every emotion and feeling toward each other is one of love, respect, sharing, goodwill. All right, you say, Yes, I can understand that, because we are all fellow students, and we are all here on the same path. Ah, yes, but let us take the next step and realize this. Since there is only one God and since there is only one power, God, the Infinite, that must be the controlling emotions in the hearts and soul of every individual on the face of the globe. It isn't a matter of personal will. You may think that it is a matter of personal will that we here love each other, but it isn't. It is that we don't even know each other, most of us. This love that has sprung up in us, through us, for each other is completely impersonal. It is of God. God has planted that seed in us for each other, but we can plant that same seed toward every individual on the face of the globe by acknowledging that whatever I feel toward anyone in this room did not come there by any will or act of mind. I found it already there when I came into the room. I did not consciously treat myself for love of the other people in this room. Whatever love and joy I feel toward each other here, God planted within me. Now, remember this. God has planted that same thought, that same emotion, that same seed in the consciousness of every individual on earth. Now alongside of that and probably uppermost in the consciousness of the world, at least, are these other thoughts domination, fear, doubt, hate, jealousy, envy, animality. We are those of whom the Master said this, I thank thee, oh Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Thy sight. And he turns then unto his disciples and said privately, privately, only to the disciples, Blessed are the eyes that see the things that ye see, for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things that ye see and have not seen them and to hear those things which ye hear and have not heard them. Remember, we, as students of The Infinite Way, belong to a very, very small minority of

10 those who have received this impartation evil isn't power. The evil thoughts of men are not power. They have no control over us, yet they have control over each other. That is why you see the political scene the way it is, the international scene the way it is. The evil thoughts of these people are controlling each other, because most guys have belief in evil. One is just worried which has more power in evil than the other, and so they give to themselves the power of evil, and they demonstrate it, and they give to each other the power of evil, and they demonstrate it. To you I say, the power of evil, of all of the false thinking on earth, is no power over you or over me in proportion as we understand this simple thing that was given today. Love is the only power. Truth is the only power. Life is the only power. There is no power in hate. There is no power in animosity. There is no power in rebellion. There is no power in resentment, lust, greed, jealousy, none, none, none. Only to those who have not the mind of a child and cannot accept the great Christian truth that God is love, and the only power on earth is love. Love is the only power, and so if God has implanted in the consciousness of every individual on earth love the love in the consciousness of every individual is power unto us. The hate, animosity, jealousy that has been implanted there is not power, except to those who give it power. That is the point I want you to see. You must not fear human thought. You must not fear hate, jealousy, animosity, greed, lust, animality. You must understand that only that which God has implanted in the consciousness of man is power. All else is mirage, nothingness. In Pennsylvania, we still have a group of people called hexers, and you can go to them if you want somebody killed or put out of the way, and they will put a hex on. And do you know something, if a person has been brought up in that area, they will die from the hex that has been put on them, because they have grown up in the conviction that a hex or a hexer is a power of evil. In Hawaii, where they used to have good kahunas and evil kahunas, when you went to be healed of something, you went to the good kahuna, and the good kahuna, or priest, prays, and you get well. Ah, but if you have an enemy, and you want to get rid of your enemy, you find a way to get a hair of his head or a bit of fingernail, and you take it to the bad kahuna, and the bad kahuna prays, we call that malpractice, and your enemy dies very quickly too. You see the reason for it? Those ancient Hawaiians had been brought up in the belief that the bad kahuna had the power of death, and the moment they heard that you had gone to the bad kahuna about them, they started trembling. Very quickly they died. Why? Because they have accepted the belief that there is a power in somebody else's thought, more especially that there is evil power. In The Infinite Way, if you refer back to some of the other writings, you will find that even good thoughts aren't power. Real power is truth, and God's thoughts are not your thoughts, but when God's thoughts reach you, when God's truth reaches your consciousness that is power. Once you accept the belief that there is power, evil power, even in the dust on the floor,

11 there isn't any reason why you shouldn't get ill from the dust on the floor or the pollen in the flower, if you're going to give it that power or if you can accept a world belief of that nature. But, if you ll accept the teaching of the Master that not even Pilate with all his temporal power, not even Pilate had the power to crucify or to set free, that all power was in the hand of God, if you will accept that, if you will begin with this moment to make your conscious realization and make it daily, daily, until this is a part of your very being that every individual on the face of the earth is empowered with love from on high and that the love in their consciousness is the power, and the power of good unto you, and unto me, and unto themselves, but that the evil in human thought, whether it takes the form of greed, jealousy, lust, and ambition, what not, isn't power. Learn not to fear evil and not to hate it. Rather, take Jesus attitude, Father, forgive them. They know not what they do. They are playing around with marbles and thinking that they're bombs. They are playing around with human thoughts, thinking that human thoughts have power, and they're not power at all. They're not power for good, and they're not power for evil. All power comes from God, and God's thoughts are not your thoughts, and so it isn't your thoughts that have power. It is God's thoughts coming to you that have power. So, it isn't the thought of the four billion. It isn't whether their thoughts run toward communism or whether their thoughts run toward another world war. That thought is not power, as far as you are concerned. Do not make the mistake, however, of believing that because this is the truth that this truth will set the people of the world free, that this will stop the next war or save humanity from annihilating itself. It may; it may not. In times past, all those who accept the evil beliefs of the world, when the time of change came went out with it. Only the remnants of those who had their faith and understanding in good remained to start the new dispensation. It may be, and some like myself believe this, that the power of spiritual good in human consciousness is today so great that there is every hope and every possibility that the inevitable will not come to pass. That is, that this civilization will not be wiped out as has been prophesized and has seemed so likely from the headlines of the newspapers. To me, there are many other religious leaders, even mystics in the world, who believe that the wiping out of this generation is inevitable on a mass scale throughout the United States, Europe, and South America. Personally, I have an inner conviction that the last 75 years has sewn such tremendous seeds of spiritual wisdom in the hearts of what we might call the masses, and so many like you and myself, just ordinary people in life that ordinarily or that formally would never have had access to spiritual truth, that there is so many of us now with this grain of truth in one power that I have a conviction that in some miraculous way civilization itself will be saved and that the transition into the spiritual era will not come as it has in past generations, by the wiping out of civilization, but by the regeneration of civilization.
