Merry Christmas 2012 Everyone!!! My entire family & I wish you & your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Greetings Everyone!

1 Merry Christmas 2012 Everyone!!! My entire family & I wish you & your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Greetings Everyone!!! I wasn t going to write another Christmas letter this year, but there was Sophie on my desktop, in her box of ashes, and I was listening to Sarah Wright s new album, Dear Mom, when Sophie spoke to me in a way, and said, You re NOT finished, yet!!! I said, But WHO are we going to pick for the Sophia Award??? YOU won last year. You were the LAST one!!! She said, YOUR DAD!!! He loved me as much as you did!!! Your mom won, your sister won... it s time for your dad to win!!! He retired this year to spend his time with you!!! The least you can do is write a letter giving HIM the coveted SOPHIA AWARD!!! So, I said, Okay, okay, you re right, Sophie, AS usual. So, this year the Sophia Award goes to my Dad for being the best dad in the world!!! And, for helping me to do all that I can for MS Awareness, and for people with disabilities!!! And most of all for everything dad DOES for me DAY IN AND DAY OUT!!! It s pretty amazing when you think about it. I have the best mom in the world AND the best dad in the world, not to mention the best sister in the world!!! What are the chances of having the BEST in all three??? Not too high, but I truly do!!! Well, my friends, Sophia is a lady, and so were all the previous recipients. Dad is the first man to ever win the Sophia Award!!! As you may recall, Sophia means wisdom in Greek. It s easy to find wisdom in ladies... but it has taken quite some time to find a WISE GUY.

They are going to miss him at St. Thomas More School, and he certainly misses them too!!! My Dad has always told me that I taught him everything he knows about art, but I think I didn t.

They always had two Vermeer prints hanging in their foyer, but when I told them years ago that I was going to see Vermeer in Washington, DC, they said, WHO are you going to SEE?

2 They are going to miss him at St. Thomas More School, and he certainly misses them too!!! My Dad has always told me that I taught him everything he knows about art, but I think I didn t. I did, however, teach him about the painter Vermeer, his favorite painter, and my Mom s favorite too. They always had two Vermeer prints hanging in their foyer, but when I told them years ago that I was going to see Vermeer in Washington, DC, they said, WHO are you going to SEE??? We ve never heard of him!!! I said, His prints have been hanging in your foyer since I was a kid!!! How can you not know who he is??? So, we went together as a family to see the Vermeer show and had a VERY GOOD TIME. The line wrapped around the National Gallery and we waited for hours to get in, starting at about 3 o clock in the morning. It was a good time!!! I may have taught dad whose work had been hanging in his foyer for all those years, but... he taught ME who Brett Curtis Weber is!!! ;-) He would also yell at me for ending that last sentence with is!!! At least I realize my mistakes now. We spent hours writing and rewriting papers for Mrs. England s social studies class in high school. He made me the best writer I could be!!! I just had a juried art show at the Baum School of Art in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I was the last person out of some 60+ people on the itinerary. I thought for sure I was going to win. My painting Butterfly was completely unique!!! There wasn t another painting like it. You can see it TO THE LEFT (the painting on the bottom). I thought I had created a masterpiece. It was my last painting since my hands no longer work because of multiple sclerosis. However, when the judges awarded the final winners, my name was not included. How could that be??? Well, I didn t win, but my Dad, who claims to know nothing about art, noted on the way out where my painting was hanging... right next to the window so people who are going by could see it from the street. So, in a sense, I did win!!! Good!!! Now I don t feel so guilty

Mr. Bon Jovi mentions his DAD in one song. ;-) So, I have decided to include this year s FANTASTIC music with my letter and as my dad would say, That LUCKY WOMAN!!! He chides us constantly about the day SHE first whistled at him... and they fell in love!!! I m STILL wondering if that s the way it REALLY happened!!! He also claims that, when SHE asked me to marry her, I asked her if I could get back to her. Well, those of you who know my Dad AND my Mom are chuckling right now, as I am. I have truly never seen two people more in love than my parents. They are a living, breathing MIRACLE!!! For those who don t believe in miracles, come see my parents.... Those wild Weber/Bellucci women!!!

My Dad taught me everything I need to know about living and about being a gentleman. He is the quintessential GENTLEMAN!

!! He took me by the hand, as a teenager, after my mom requested he take me to get my hair cut, and Dad said Gotta get your haircut, Brett, because your mom thinks your hair is too long!

!! My dad looked at me sympathetically, and said, Well, you make a good point.

4 My Dad taught me everything I need to know about living and about being a gentleman. He is the quintessential GENTLEMAN!!! My dad is responsible for giving me the impetus to pursue and achieve my doctorate!!! He took me by the hand, as a teenager, after my mom requested he take me to get my hair cut, and Dad said Gotta get your haircut, Brett, because your mom thinks your hair is too long!!! And, I said, But, Dad!!! I m a good student, I ll continue to be a good student, I won t give you guys any trouble, I ve got a job after school. I m a good kid, regardless of how long my hair is!!! My dad looked at me sympathetically, and said, Well, you make a good point... as long as you continue to achieve high grades, work, and keep out of trouble, I suppose I can make an argument to your mom. No promises, but I ll try!!! He SUCCEEDED!!! And, I was allowed to keep my long goldilocks. In fact, I wouldn t cut my hair until years later, a few months before I finished my doctorate. So, THANK YOU DAD, for being so reasonable!!! Well, it was a woman after all who got me to cut my hair... I cut it after my first date with Chris. We went to see the movie, Romeo and Juliet. I thought she was VERY CLASSY!!! She had her short Audrey-Hepburn cropped hair style!!! I felt like a slob next to her. So, without asking her, I went to get my hair cut, and had most of it cut off. They were very sweet to me. Then, I returned to see Chris for our next date, and she said, What happened??? I said, I got a haircut!!! Doesn t it look nice??? Now I can be seen with you, with your Audrey-do. Well, Chris didn t complain, but she did tell me that she liked my long hair. I said I had to cut it anyway to go on interviews for a job. That job would eventually materialize in Pittsburgh, PA, at Chatham College. Looking back now, I had that job for one year, and then took off a year to try to get my health back in order. Then I taught for a few months at Hahnemann Medical University before I had to resign due to multiple sclerosis. For those who follow my art, it was at this point that I started my painting, Escape, and got my wonderful helper dog, Sophia.

5 Truly, my Dad made me the best writer that I could be!!! Now, surely some of you are probably thinking, You re not that good a writer, Brett!!! AND you may think that if you have gone to my website,

NO QUESTION ABOUT THAT!!! The best thing I ever wrote which is currently on my website, I had sent as part of my very first Christmas letter, many years ago, while I still lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. So, as I see it... ;-) Emily eventually gets her doctorate at Temple University right after she graduates from Moravian College with high honors!!! Okay, I just made that up I think she ends up going to Stanford but we shall see!!! Emily created the Audrey android years after her dad made the first Marilyn android, also in Audrey s ROCK OPERA!!! Aren t dad s wonderful at INSPIRING the BEST in us!!! Audrey was the BEST!!! Okay, under duress by my friends, Barbara and Cindy, I worked very hard to make this letter shorter than usual. Well, as you can imagine, I have much more to say, but you ll have to wait until next year!!! I m not saying that this will be my last Christmas card letter, but I will say to you my friends that I m not planning any more. That s not to say that it won t happen!!! They could possibly paint my mural in Philadelphia, which would cause me to write you something about that eventually!!! Also, I had an extremely exciting thing happen to me on Thanksgiving!!! Talk about something for which to be THANKFUL!!! I found the entire movie clip from ROMAN HOLIDAY!!! So, I have asked you now for the past three years, Have YOU watched Roman Holiday??? If you still haven t, I now have the YouTube clip on my website. All you have to do is go on my website and click on the appropriate picture, the beautiful picture BELOW of Ms. Audrey Hepburn, with her wet hair, looking at Gregory Peck with his wet hair. I challenge you to find a prettier girl with wet hair!!!

Now my dad might suggest Sophia Loren, which is a competitive argument as far as silver screen movie queens go.

My niece and namesake, Vittoria Brett, (the cute girl in the pink polka dot hat, in the T-Bird (PAGE 3) says, Hello to me every morning. She sounds like Marilyn Monroe!!! Now my dad and Vittoria might have a competitive argument, but MY FAVORITE actress is still Ms. Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday. Watch the movie on my website, friends!!! I also have Marilyn Monroe s movie, Some Like It Hot, on the bottom of the website, and am still looking for one for Sophia Loren. So, check back!!!
