anic or eace? : nd let the peace of od rule in your hearts.... olossians 3:15 When times get tough and there are problems all around you, you have a choice to make: re you going to live ruled by pessimism thinking negatively about life or are you going to let the peace of od rule in your heart? Your success in life depends in part upon the way you think. o a large extent, your thoughts control the way you feel. s hristians, it s important to guard against negative thoughts. ave you ever been around a pessimist someone who thinks negatively about everything? ven when the Word of od says otherwise, pessimists think on the negative side of situations rather than the positive side. ve traveled with people who look at the car s gas gauge and say, h, no, we re half empty! We d better stop and get some gas. hey re almost in a panic. tell them, o, the tank is half full. We only have a short distance to go; we have plenty of gas! ooking at the gas gauge as half-empty rather than half-full is an illustration of pessimism looking at a situation negatively. ow someone sees a gas gauge may not be a very important issue, but it demonstrates negative thinking. nd if a person thinks that way in unimportant situations, he or she will think that way in the crises of life with issues that really matter. ow can you avoid dwelling on negative thoughts? y thinking in line with od s Word. eople who get down in the dumps all the time aren t thinking in line with od s Word. hey aren t letting the peace of od rule in their hearts. od s Word says, his is the day the ord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it (s. 118:24 ). When you think in line with the Word of od, you will rejoice each day and be glad instead of having what call the mulligrubs. hinking in line with the Word of od lifts you out of despondency and pessimism. hinking in line with od s Word will also bring peace to your heart and mind. ome people s minds whirl so much that they couldn t sit down and be still if they wanted to. ut olossians 3:15 tells us to let the peace of od rule in our hearts. nd the word let 2 arch 2002 in that verse indicates that we have a part to play in determining whether it happens or not. ow do we let peace rule? We re to think thoughts of peace (thoughts that are in line with od s Word) and refuse to think on all the negative things that may be going on around us. n the midst of trials or problems, stay in peace. hink on what od s Word says about your situation. anicking in the middle of a crisis will only cause you to make a mistake or bad decision, often leaving you in a worse situation than you re already in. ne of the first things you learn in any kind of safety training class is not to panic in the case of an emergency. o you know why? t has been proven that when a person panics, he doesn t think right. f you get lost in the woods, you are taught to sit down and calm yourself before looking for a way out. f you panic and try to find your way out of the woods in that state of mind, you will only become more lost and confused. ow do you keep from panicking when the enemy brings the crises of life? y thinking on the positive (what od s Word says) and by letting the peace of od rule. on t let evil imaginations take hold of your mind. ften, the first thing people think of when they hear bad news is the worst possible scenario. hey start imagining all kind of bad things. hose negative thoughts will lead to pessimism, fear, and panic. on t panic! tay in peace. hink peaceful thoughts. hink thoughts of praise to od. ut your trust in od and in is Word! hilippians 4:7 says,... the peace of od, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in hrist Jesus ()! f you want to live in peace, you have to think right. What do mean by think right? mean think in line with the Word of od. f you think right, you will believe right. nd if you believe right, you will be in a position to receive all the blessings and benefits that od s Word says are yours! ake this confession today: m going to quit thinking negatively. m going to quit thinking pessimistic thoughts. won t think on evil things, but will think on things that are true and of a good report [hil. 4:8]. will think on what the ible says about my situation. nd will let the peace of od rule in my heart and experience the victory od has for me. ev. 4 ut what saith it? he word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; hat if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the ord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that od hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. or with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. omans 10:8-10 Kenneth. agin What we believe is a result of our thinking. f we think wrong, we will believe wrong. f our believing is wrong, our confession will be wrong. n other words, what we say will be wrong. t all hinges on our thinking! ut the Word of od has been given to us to straighten out our thinking! Jesus said in ark 11:23, or verily say unto you, hat whosoever shall say unto this mountain, e thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. rdinarily, we talk quite a bit about the believing part, but we do not talk too much about the saying part. f course, we will not be able to make the right confession until our thinking is right. ur thinking must be in line with the Word of od, because we cannot believe beyond the actual knowledge we have of the Word of od. eople who have been involved in the past with metaphysical, mind-science religions often get this teaching about right and wrong thinking confused with 4 arch 2002

he ight Kind of hinking an roduce the ight Kind of esults those religious teachings, because they still think that man is just a mental and physical being. ut man is far more than that: e is also a spiritual being! dvocates of metaphysics have taught so much about the mind that ull ospel people are almost afraid to say a word about it yet the ible has a great deal to say about the mind. or example, the ible says, rust in the ord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own - [mind] (rov. 3:5). he ible says, asting down - [reasonings], and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of od, and bringing into captivity every to the obedience of hrist (2 or. 10:5). he ible also says, nd be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of od (om. 12:2). We renew our minds by studying the Word of od. he ible teaches us to have the mind of hrist (1 or. 2:16). he only way we can have the mind of hrist is to study is Word, believe it in our heart, and act upon it. he Word of od also teaches us to think on whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, or whatever has virtue or praise (hil. 4:8). o the Word of od does have much to say about the mind! owever, we need to realize that thoughts can come into our minds from two different sources. n other words, the thoughts that come into our minds do not always originate in our minds. he devil puts many thoughts into our minds from outside ourselves. hat s one source. hen, of course, thoughts from od come from within us. hey come through our spirits into our minds. s you stay in close fellowship with the ord through prayer, meditation, and study of is Word, you will learn to distinguish the source of your thoughts. f course, evil thoughts are from the devil. n the other hand, because od is love, loving thoughts come from od. ince love thinks no evil, hears no evil, and sees no evil, you should not give place to evil in your thought life. n scriptures referring to the mind and thinking, many hristians only understand the negative side of the subject. owever, there are both negative and positive sides, and the positive side is more important. or example, if one talks about confession, most people think of confessing sin, weakness, or failure. he ible says, f we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). ut the Word of od has much more to say about the positive side of confession than the negative side. f people could understand that, it would make a great difference in their thinking and in their lives. ut many have only heard one side of confession preached the negative side. herefore, they have only exercised the negative side the thou-shalt-not side. Yet aul says in omans 10:9,... if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the ord Jesus.... his does not refer to confession of sin, nor is it a confession of weakness. nstead, it is a confession of the ordship of Jesus hrist. his passage continues,... and shalt believe in thine heart that od hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. or with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (vv. 9,10). his is not a negative confession; it is a positive confession! n fact, hristianity is called the reat onfession. ebrews 3:1 says that we should consider the postle and igh riest of our profession (a marginal note in some ibles says confession ). t this point, it would be helpful for us to define the word confession. What we believe is a result of our thinking. f we think wrong, we will believe wrong. irst, it is affirming something we believe. econd, it is testifying to something we know. hird, it is witnessing to a truth that we have embraced. t is necessary that we do as ebrews 4:14 admonishes and... hold fast our profession [confession]. t is also necessary that there be a continual confession or affirmation of our redemption from atan s dominion, and a confession of the fact that he no longer rules us with condemnation, fear, or disease. We are to hold fast to our confession because our confession is atan s defeat. Jesus defeated the devil more than two thousand years ago. ut what Jesus did for us legally must become a vital, living reality in our lives. he vital side of redemption is the experiential side that which we have personally experienced. We shall never thoroughly understand the Word of od until we can clearly see the two different sides of our redemption the legal side and the experiential side. n example of the legal side of redemption is this: We often pray, od, save this man, or od, heal that woman. owever, in the mind of od, e has already saved and healed them. n other words, od was in hrist reconciling the world unto imself (2 or. 5:19). Jesus doesn t have to die again to save anyone. e already died once. e doesn t need to shed is blood anymore. egally, od has already done everything e needs to do to provide our redemption! f one just deals with the legal side of redemption and preaches it exclusively, people will not actually experience anything in their lives. f, on the other hand, only the experiential side of redemption is preached, fanaticism and extremism can result. balance he Word of aith 5

he ight Kind of hinking an roduce the ight Kind of esults must be achieved between the two so that one can enjoy everything od has legally provided in redemption. hat which the ord has legally purchased, wrought, and provided for us becomes ours, experientially, when we believe the Word of od in our heart and confess with our mouth that it is true and that it is ours. When you confess who you are and what you have in hrist, claim it, and walk in it, you are appropriating the reality of all that is legally yours. nfortunately, many will never realize this and will remain baby hristians. hey will never be able to enjoy the fullness of who they are and what they really have in hrist. You see, a hristian is not renovated like an old piece of furniture. n old piece of furniture is just made he only way we can have the mind of hrist is to study is Word, believe it in our heart, and act upon it. over. ut the new birth is not a reformation or a renovation. person who s born again is a brand-new creature; a new creation. ne translation of econd orinthians 5:17 reads, e is a new species. his new creature is something that never existed before! herefore, because we are no longer dominated by atan, disease and sickness can no longer lord it over us, either. ld habits can no longer lord it over us. Why? ecause we are new creatures in hrist Jesus! We need to believe that! hen we will begin to talk about it. hen it will become a reality in our spirits, and we will become overcomers, living a victorious life in hrist. s evelation 12:11 says, nd they overcame him [atan] by the blood of the amb, and by the word of their testimony.... We should all become odminded and the only way we can achieve this is to think od s thoughts after im. n other words, think on what od says in is Word, and confess that it is true! n ight and Wrong hinking, ev. Kenneth. agin explores the criptures and reveals how you can: ap into the powerful connection of thinking right, believing right, and confessing right. ine up your thinking with the Word of od and renew your mind. earn to distinguish right from wrong thinking. ake the right confession and defeat the devil every time. ollow scriptural steps to walk in victory in every area of life! ffer #2814 $3.95 ($5.50 anada) lus hipping and andling r visit our online bookstore at

he ord will guide you always: he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. saiah 58:11 () n just a few weeks it will be spring again. uring this season, many people have a tradition of springcleaning their house. hey clean out the closets and throw away things they haven t used in years. t s also a time when people thoroughly clean areas of their house that they normally just surface clean or clean very quickly. know often consider spring a time to get my house in order. erhaps this should also be a time for us to get our spiritual house in order. You may wonder why it seems your prayers are not being answered. salm 37:4 and 5 says, elight thyself also in the ord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. ommit thy way unto the ord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. et me ask you a question: re you delighting in the ord? re you committing your ways to im? t is important to place od first in your life. o many times we let other things become our top priority. f we are not careful, it is easy to let undesirable things creep into our spiritual house. ne undesirable thing we sometimes allow to creep in is strife. roverbs 26:21 and 22 says, s coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. he words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. et us refuse to allow strife to have any place in our life and home. t is also important for us to get rid of gossip. We must not gossip about others. When someone comes to me and says, id you know about o-and-so? and proceeds to talk about that person with destructive words rather than uplifting words, stop the talebearer in the middle of his or her sentence and say, y ears are not garbage cans; refuse to listen to anything but uplifting words. he postle aul says, inally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things (hil. 4:8). s you choose to think about lovely things, you will find that the bad reports begin to vanish. always choose to look on the positive side of things. refuse to dwell on the negative. When people dwell on the negative, they become miserable and make everyone else around them miserable. ut when a person is positive, everyone wants to be in his or her presence. his spring, as you begin your natural housecleaning, start your spiritual housecleaning as well. lean 8 arch 2002 out all the strife in your life. lean out the gossip. lean out the negative attitudes you may have towards yourself as well as towards others. ray for a love and compassion for others to encompass you. nd the most important thing you can do is to practice ark 11:25, which says, nd when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your ather also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. o many times we quote ark 11:23 and 24 concerning the desires of our heart being granted, but we stop short of the very thing that will bring those desires to pass. We must practice the commandment of forgiveness found in verse 25. ften we want forgiveness for ourselves, but judgment for everyone else. o, we must forgive if we want forgiveness and if we want our prayers answered. You might say, ynette, you don t understand what an awful thing someone did to me. do understand. have had many opportunities to practice this scripture myself. guarantee you, the more you practice it, the easier it will become. nd, as you practice the law of forgiveness, you will find that peace and tranquility surround you. You will watch that hatred and bitterness turn to love and forgiveness. nd you will experience a joy like you have never known before. When was a child, my parents always quoted atthew 6:33 to me. t says, ut seek ye first the kingdom of od, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. t is so important to seek the things of od first and to clean out the undesirable things that may have crept into our life. uring this time of spring-cleaning, we can commit afresh our ways to od, and the desires of our heart will be granted. ynette end your questions to eed houghts, ttention: ynette agin,.. ox 50126, ulsa, K , or -mail your questions to: seedthoughts@rhema.org. o personal responses will be given; questions will be addressed in the magazine only. nfortunately, due to volume, we are unable to answer every question received.

Kenneth agin Jr. o then Y, and hearing by W. omans 10:17 nd Jesus answering saith unto them,. or verily say unto you, hat whosoever shall say unto this mountain, e thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. herefore say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. ark 11:22-24 od wants us to have faith in im! ark 11:22 can also be translated, ave the faith of od. You see, faith in od is a spiritual force. t comes by hearing the Word of od. he force of faith ible faith can change your circumstances. ut what is ible faith? o help answer that question, let s look at what ible faith is not. We need to take another look at faith because some believers are confused about what ible faith really is. ome think that faith is denying the problem, sickness, disease, or the hindrance. ut faith is not denial! enying the existence of a problem is not faith it s foolishness! ome people think that as long as they don t speak about a problem, that means they are in faith. nd they know that faith pleases od, so they think they are pleasing od by denying the problem. hey think they are acting in faith. ut faith ible faith does not deny the existence or the reality of the problem. n some situations, it is very dangerous to deny that a problem exists, especially in the case of sickness and disease. ome people even say, will not enying the existence of a problem is not faith it s foolishness! 14 arch 2002

aith is ot enial admit that have a problem because don t want to confess it into existence. ut by admitting a problem, they aren t confessing the problem into existence the problem is already there! or example, suppose you have all the symptoms of a cold your nose is running, your eyes are watering, you have a fever, and you are sneezing and coughing. ut instead of admitting you have a cold, you confess, don t have any symptoms. m fine. othing is the matter with me. hat s not faith that s lying! ome people think they are standing in faith for healing by just making confessions that deny the fact that they are sick. ut everyone else can see that they are sick because they use a box of tissues every fifteen minutes and eat cough drops like candy! ut in an effort to be in faith, many people will still confess, othing is wrong with me! m not going to confess that m sick! ut you don t have to confess it when it is plain to see that you are sick! he facts speak for themselves. You see, merely confessing or not confessing something doesn t change the facts. ow if you put the Word of od to work, eventually, your circumstances are subject to change. ut some people have the mistaken idea, f don t acknowledge my problem as a fact, then haven t confessed it. nd if don t confess it, it must disappear. ut the ible doesn t say, eny the facts. on t confess the facts. t says to confess those things that be not as though they were (om.4:17).or some things, it doesn t matter whether you confess them or not; they still exist as fact. or example, if you are broke, it s a fact whether you confess it or not. Whether or not you confess it to anyone, you are still broke. You won t get out of that situation until you recognize that fact, and then put your faith to work for you. t s the same way with healing. person has to recognize he is sick before he can receive healing. nd a person has to recognize the fact that he is a sinner before he can get saved. herefore, the quicker you recognize the facts that exist and apply the greater facts of od s Word to the situation, the quicker you will be delivered! efore a person can believe od to move on his behalf, he must realize that a problem exists! efore you could get saved, you had to realize that you were a sinner. You had to realize you needed a avior! efore you can receive healing, you must realize you have a physical problem. ut so many people think that faith is denying the facts. hey think that by denying the facts, their faith is working. ut the ible does not teach this. ook at the ld estament men of faith. n an effort to be in faith, did they deny their problems? id Joshua deny the existence of Jericho that lay in front of him? o! e knew that enemy fortress lay ahead of him. n other words, he admitted the obstacle or problem existed. ut Joshua didn t stop there! hen Joshua acted in faith on what od had told him to do. he children of srael shouted, and the walls came tumbling down (see Joshua 6:20). When avid was confronted with oliath, did avid deny the existence of the giant standing before him cursing od? o! y faith in od, avid ran out to defeat his enemy (see 1 amuel 17). o many people want to stick their head in the sand, spiritually speaking, and deny that they have a problem. ut if your pockets are empty, you ve got empty pockets! You might as well admit it. ut then don t stop there. hose empty pockets don t have to stay empty! se those empty pockets as an opportunity to prove that od s Word works! rm yourself with the greater facts efore a person can believe od to move on his behalf, he must realize that a problem exists! of od s Word and by faith begin to say what od s Word says about your particular situation: y od shall supply all my need according to is riches in glory by hrist Jesus (hil. 4:19). on t deny the facts, but allow od s Word to transform and change those facts! ook in the ospel of ark at the account of the woman with the issue of blood (ark 5:25-34). he did not deny the fact that she needed healing. he didn t just sit in her house denying the fact that she d had this condition for twelve years. he didn t deny the fact that the physicians could not cure her. he did not deny the fact that she d only grown worse, but she didn t just wallow in her problem either. o, she recognized that she had a problem, and then she did something about it! he used her faith to look beyond her problem to Jesus. he allowed the greater fact of Jesus, the iving Word of od, to overcome her problem. he said, f can touch the hem of Jesus garment, will be made whole (att. 9:21). hat was her faith talking! ut notice that she didn t just make that confession and then sit still doing nothing. aith should prompt action faith should act on od s Word. aith that produces results takes od at is Word and acts like it is true because it is! o she acted on her faith by getting up and going to Jesus! ven though she was still afflicted with an issue of blood, she knew she d be healed when she touched the hem of Jesus garment. tudy the lives of great men and women of faith in the ible. ll of them braham, saac, Jacob, ideon, sther, aniel, just to name a few were confronted with problems he Word of aith 15

: he ime s hort n aturday, eptember 2, 1950, as ev. Kenneth. agin conducted a tent revival in ockwall, exas, Jesus appeared to him. his month, ev. agin ends his account of that vision and comments on parts of it. * * * * * Jesus had called me up to the throne of od. here, e spoke with me about a number of things. e then told me to go and fulfill the ministry e had given me and to be faithful, for the time was short. s walked away from the hrone of od, Jesus said just another word or so to me. e said, e sure to give e all the praise, honor, and glory for all that is done. ive y ame the praise and the honor for it. nd then, be careful about money. any of y servants whom ve anointed for this type of ministry have become moneyminded and have lost the anointing and ministry gave them. here are many who would pay much to be delivered. any parents in the world have children whose little bodies are twisted, and they would give thousands of dollars for their healing. any of them shall be delivered as you lay hands upon them. ut you must not accept a charge for your ministry. ccept offerings as you have been doing. o your way. e faithful, for the time is short. hank od, since then ve seen some of those little children with polio delivered and made straight. ome walked instantly. ome became perfectly well in the process of time. fter Jesus spoke with me, e then journeyed with me back to the earth. realized that still lay on my face on the floor. Jesus talked with me there for a moment and then disappeared. he entire vision lasted about an hour-and-a-half. uring the vision, Jesus had placed the finger of is right hand into the palm of each of my hands. When e did, my palms began to burn just like was holding a coal of fire in them. e told me e had given me a special anointing to minister to the sick. fter the vision, my hands continued to burn for three days. here are a few things that should say relative to this vision. have thought about it many times and have reflected upon what the ord showed me. fter these many years since the vision, am convinced that we are now nearer to the end than ever. We read in the ible that,... one day is with the ord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 eter 3:8). herefore, these many years would be a very small fraction of time in is sight. n the vision, Jesus said that all the gifts of the pirit would be in operation in the hurch in these last days. e said the hurch would do greater things than those written of the arly hurch in the cts of the postles. nd have seen this fulfilled in the years since then. n my own ministry, have seen miraculous healings as marvelous as any we read about in the ible. n these last days, as we are awaiting Jesus coming, we are seeing here in merica and around the world just as many great miracles as we find recorded in the ook of cts. lso during the vision, the ord said was to lay one hand on each side of the body of the person prayed for to see if an evil spirit was causing the affliction. no longer do that, because the ord gave me another vision two years later. (n this first vision, the ord told me that e would appear to me again, and e has on several occasions.) n the vision two years later, e said, rom this moment on, the gift that is known in y Word as discerning of spirits will operate in your ministry. With the operation of this gift, can know when an evil spirit oppresses a person s body, and, therefore, use this greater ministry. Jesus said in the first vision, called you before you were born and separated you from your mother s womb. his was doctrinally contrary to my belief at that time. owever, looking further into od s Word, read where the ord said the same thing to Jeremiah concerning his ministry that the ord called him before he was born (see Jeremiah 1:5). he ord told me that atan had tried to destroy my life before was born, and many times since then. ut Jesus said is angels had watched over me and cared for me until that hour. n subsequent issues of he Word of aith, will relate details of other visions Jesus has given me. 18 arch 2002
