Why should we forgive others? ecause od forgives us when we follow Jesus 4. hink about the ible story. Why did the king throw the first servant into prison? he first servant refused to forgive others, even though the king had forgiven him. 5. hink about the game we played together. Why is it wrong to choose not to forgive or let go? our heart and mind are too full of anger and pain when you don t let go, and the choices you make will show the anger and pain instead of od s love and forgiveness. 6. f someone hurt you a long time ago, didn t apologize, and you re never going to see them again, why should you still forgive them? ven if you ll never see them again, your heart will stay hurt until you choose to forgive them, and you can t love others with od s love until you let it go. pply o his Week 1. When we choose to follow Jesus, od heals our broken hearts so we can share is love with others. ow can you show others that od s love forgives? Forgive others, even when they don t ask you to forgive them, be kind to those who have hurt you, choose not to bring up the old wrong choices people have made, etc. 2. When others hurt us, sometimes it s really hard to forgive them. We all have. ut the good news is, when we follow Jesus and ask od to forgive us, e does, every time. hat s why we hat s why we even forgive V ou know what s the best part? t feels so good to forgive others and forgive ourselves, because it heals our hearts from sin, anger, and unforgiveness. 1. et one box of markers and a stack of blank papers on each table. Kids take three sheets of paper and write one thing od has forgiven them for on each. 3. ffer ideas if needed: lying, cheating, jealousy, stealing, impatience, bossiness, selfishness, anger, worry, etc. sk: What does od do when e forgives us: write down our wrong choices so e can remember them, or throw them in the garbage and forget all about them? e forgets about them. 4. Kids crumple their papers and throw them in the trash. oint ay: ince od forgave us, we can hink of two things someone has done that you need to forgive. od s love forgives. 5. Kids take two sheets of paper write one thing they need to forgive on each. 7 KC // F WK 4 eaching Konnection ctivity When others hurt you, you choose to sin, or you get in a fight, it makes your heart sick. f you don t ask for od s forgiveness, and you choose not to forgive others, you get frozen in that sickness and you can t show od s love hat s definitely not what od wants for you oday s verse has a message that helps you stay healthy and free from unforgiveness: od forgave you, so you need to forgive others 1. plit kids into three equal groups. 2. ive each kid in the first group a verse tag that reads,. 3. ive each kid in the second group a verse tag that reads, emember, the ord forgave you. 4. ive each kid in the third group a verse tag that reads, 5. ix kids up and seat all kids in a line against the wall.
